SGS II - autosync over Wi-Fi - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys,
is it somehow possible to autosync data from SGS II over Wi-Fi to PC running Kies? I can do that manually in phone settings by turning on "connect to Kies over Wi-Fi", but I would like to have this automated....
or is there any other solution to autosync contacts, messages, mails, photos, etc...via wireless?
Regards Jakoob

Still no one to give me some help?

You can probably do this via Tasker. Search for it from Android Market.

In my opinion, instead of looking for an email app which allows Sync on wifi only, you should use an Email app which allows 'sync when Background Data turned on' and/or 'Auto Sync' settings is on. The reason is, emails are very important and they should be pushed/pulled on any internet connection you have at anytime/ anywhere. I know saving 3G data charges and/or over heat are your issues in this case, so my recommendation above resolved both of these two issues.
And K-9 Mail is such an app I would like to suggest. You can go to its Settings/Network to find these options.
My solution also means you will use an extra tasker app, such as Locale, Smart Action... for teaching your phone when/where/how long/etc... the Background Data and/or Auto Sync is turned on.
For an example which meets exactly your need, just use Locale to program your phone to turn on Auto Sync when wifi connection connected. This also means you must set Auto Sync always is off by default. That's all.
As for me, I even dont use Locale or Smart Action, but just using K-9 Mail with option of 'Sync when Background data and Auto Sync checked'
Hope this can help,
Thanks for your suggestions

[Q] Android OS consumes data connection

Hi, A friend of mine has a problem with the galaxy s II
His data connection is consumed very fast.
When I checked his data usage it showed Android OS as the main consumer, and used data connectiona lot more than all the other applications combined!
So can anyone tell me which feature in Android could cause this? (I thought it was syncing bills but he has only facebook/whatsapp/google accounts in auto sync and no weather service).
Thanks to all who help.
auto sync is part of the android OS, try turning off auto sync for a while and see what happens to Android OS.

[Q] How do I use this as a companion device?

Hello all. I'm trying to use my TrueSmart as a companion device for my Samsung Galaxy S3. I'd like texts, emails, Facebook, calls, etc notifications to be pushed to my Omate, preferably lighting up the screen. How do I get it to do this? I've paired them through Bluetooth, downloaded Osmart Companion on my TrueSmart, joined the G+ testing group, downloaded Osmart Master on my phone, selected my TrueSmart as my companion device, and turned on Osmart message proxy. I can ping the TS, but no notifications are being pushed. Any help?

checking notifications of a single app

Hello, I need some advice on an app.
I have constantly the data connection turned off and when I need I active it. As I'm often on the pc all important notifications (eg. Viber, Gmail, etc.) I control in real-time via the corresponding desktop applications available for PC but I miss notifications WhatsApp is not available as a desktop version (ok, there is a version that includes wifi active but is not the same thing as Viber for example).
Obviously enough I every X number of hours active the data connection to see if there is a notification but was looking for something more advanced, especially looking app that automatically every 30 minutes active data connection and control me ONLY notifications WhatsApp and that's because I do not care to have other notifications (eg. Viber, Gmail, etc.), I see already from PC. If I have to manually turn on the data connection (eg. I'm at the PC) then I want you to be shown all the notifications.
Is there an app like this?
