[Q] - Wildfire Themes and Apps

Hello
I'm using LauncherPro and just yesterday I stumbled on this post on xda.
Now, I don't care about the wallpaper, but I really like those buttons. So first I did try to find the icon pack (it is called "Manup's Simple Word Icons 116SET") and then tried to make some of the icons myself, but each time I noticed that the words just aren't readable on the screen (too small!).
So I was wondering, does anybody use such a theme and is willing to shear it, or does somebody has a solution for this? Or is our resolution really that bad?
Thank you in advance!

Hey, I tried using this app too once and had the same problem, I'm not very clued up on Photoshop so never tried to solve it that way......
Instead I used another app custom launcher icons, which gave me the text icons that we're readable. There wasn't much customization in it though so got bored quickly, I think the icons in that picture are actually blank icons placed over a custom dock background which has the text on it.
I've done it that way before a while ago, let me have a search for the theme which came with blank icons n ill get back to you.
EDIT: The theme I used for the blank icons was called sense adw theme by androidfeens.
You can use the blank icons from that then find a custom dock with the text on.

No I tell a lie he did actually use that app to make the text icons and then placed them on top of a custom dock. Must be our resolution that sucks with the app, oh well glad you reminded me about this just made my own custom dock again.

Interesting approach, but the only restriction is that this way of working limits the amount of docks to just one, as the dock-background is the same for every dock..

Yeh that is a problem for multi dock users, doesn't affect me as I only use one, for the basic phone functions.

Same when I used it u i forget I have them, and found it easier to just use shortcuts

A bit late, but I've found an app that creates readable word icons! It is called 'Simple text - text icon creator', is made by 'redphx' and can be found in the market for free. For a screenshot, check attachment.

[Q] How can I modify my theme to get the following (picture attached)?

Basically I want to know how to get button on the lock screen that I can slide to open different things directly (like camera, dialer, or email for instance).
I am running congnition 1.3 (which is super duper awesome btw lol), if a spicific launcher is needed please tell me which one haha I am currently using go launcher because I prefer the app drawer to be horizontal rather than vertical.
The attached pic is basically what I want, how can I do it?!
Thanks in advance for any insight!
mmmh it's probably Widget locker ( paid app ).
Or maybe hte lockscreen modded via Ultimate online kitchen : http://uot.dakra.lt/
Use wigetlocker. And use fancy widgets(make sure of the s at last. Fancy widget is unsupported now i guess) for the time+weather. Flikie wallpapers for backgrounds

thanks alot! will try that! Ultimate online kitchen seems nice though, if I can create something with it that would be awesome haha

[Q] Metamorph/Customize

Hey everyone, I'm just another noob in need of some help because I can't find what I need on Google.
I've been using a kang of cm7 by fitsnugly on my nexus one. One of the things added in is a bubble style lockscreen. The thing is, the icons were green and looked bad against the steel blue theme of my phone.
So I looked around and found an old metamorph for a steel blue lockscreen and applied it. It changes the icons blue but not the ring around the bubbles when I'm dragging them (Pics below)
This morph also changed some of the transitions between apps/screens on my phone, and I like them except for two:
1. After unlocking phone, the lockscreen slides to the left and disappears instead of just going away
2. Anytime I bring the keyboard up, it bounces up and down for a second, which actually wastes a lot of time.
Basically I'm wondering what I am wanting to do is remove those two transitions and make the morphology change the rings blue.
Does anyone have any advice on where to start? How do you edit a morph? Just modify the files? How do I add in the ring morph?
Thank you for this opportunity to learn and further improve my phone!

[Q] Changing Icon Sets

Hey everyone. I was wondering if there was a method to change the icon set in Touchwiz 4.0 (yes im rooted) to something else other then what they have as stock.
And furthermore, ARE there any icon sets out there? I saw a couple of cool looking screens in the post your screenshot thread, but i'm not sure if that was because they were using some different launcher.
Thanks,
diabolical
I am also interested in this. I really like touch wiz ui and all the features but i strongly dislike the childlike icons. Is there anyway we can change the icons without changing launchers?
I was wondering if we can have the
HTC Sensation XE Lock screen (with the circle to launch)
on the Samsung Galaxy S ll
The HTC lockscreen is cool. Just get the app Agilelock. It duplicates it perfectly. Only issue i found is right when you install, it pops up a message that you cant read, unless you can read some form of chinese. Hit the right button. The left button will download something.

They probably used a theme (with a custom launcher). I think launcher themes change entire icon sets. Other than that, idk.

As to the icons... I don't know if it'll be the same on ICS but here's what I did to pull some ADW icons into Rosie.
Thanks to rileyd5 for instruction to remove text which is how I found out I could change the icons in the same place.
You need Folder Organizer to do it this way.
Then press and hold on your homescreen and select widget.
Select FO Item - Folder Organizer
Choose Apps
Then find the one you want to change the icon of and press on icon.
Then go find the icon you want to change that one to.
Tap on the app and it will be on your desktop. Now you have to replace the one that's already there if there is one.
Unfortunately you have to do one at a time and even if you already have an icon for an app you have to make a new one and replace it, you can't just modify one that's already there.
I'm sure there must be an easier way...

There's a much easier way....visit the Themes section where some great people have painstakingly created icon sets and themes that have a wide variety of looks and functionality.
On the icon replacement there are a ton of apps out there. I suggest desktop visualizer only because there are a million and one icon packs already built for it.
Don't forget UOT Kitchen.

Yeah, I spent HOURS searching through themes one night and the ADW DigitalSoul icons are the ones for me. But I have to have the sense clock I'm using. I did grab desktop visualizer a while ago and never really looked through it... I'll check it out.
Anyway... Don't want to make this thread about me. Well actually I do, but...

It's a fun/good topic to have an open discussion about who uses what and to what benefit it is. I themed as much as I can without tearing apart market apps so that their in app fonts match what I want.

If you don't mind switching ROMs, this is what I did (and I'd suggest this ROM anyway since it's so smooth) in order to get the AOSP notification bar at the top. You can find the thread here where I detailed instructions. Essentially, though, I used Joelz ICS Sense Redefined. I then pushed the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk from his Senseless ROM. It works perfectly. I now have a Sense ROM that looks like Senseless. And I did get confirmation from him that it won't break anything since they both use the same framework and System base.

Phone editing

Hello,
I am fairy new to android scene and I really enjoyed personalizing my jail broken iPhone. I switched to android cause of the ability to personalize it however I am a little confused I am looking for a way to change some text strings. For instance on the iPhone I was able to change the message that appeared when you entered the wrong passcode. Same as the power off message saying "never" instead. I would like to know how to do this as well as change the icons on the phone I due know how to do this on the iPhone but am really lost on android any help would be great sorry that I don't know a lot of the correct terms.
Well I'm not particularly sure how to change the text on the things you described because I believe you would have to change the framework of the ROM...
As for theme... That's easy, you just need to install an alternative launcher as golauncher, nova or apex... These ha e separate theme packs you can download which will theme the icons and give you ability to change them yourself... But the icons packs won't work with stock launcher if that's what you are using
I use go launcher and what I would like to do is make my own compete theme is there software out there that I could use and I would like to learn how to possible write or understand the code but don't know where to start any suggestions would be great thanks again for the reply
