[Q] Galaxy Gio vs O1 Gaming Perfomance - Optimus One, P500, V General

Guys I need Help, I hav jst sold my G1.
Now I am considering optimus one, but i can also get galaxy gio in same price range (i fear this question might be asked smewhere).
Cud U PPl Guarantee Me Same or Better GAMING performance(i also want Fpse) with optimus one over galaxy gio.
(As in almost All youtube videos games are lagging on O1 but not on Gio)
also "HOW MUCH HIT THE BATTERY TAKES WITH OVERCLOCK?"

srry to disturb u guys but plz i hav very less time left to select!!!
i have abt 16hrs................

You're on a O1 forum so obviously this will be full of bias answers. The thing is with this is that I believe these two phones will perform pretty similar. I have an overclocked O1 at 806 and I play most games are fine. But don't expect to not lag in high end games on both the O1 and the gio. If you are a heavy gamer, don't get either.

Also, O1 has better development as far as I can see. I can't even find the Gio section in XDA..

Go for the gio, its better in games.
I have compared my o1 to my friend's gio, his is better.

Looool it looks just like ZTE blade , but it has a few too many downsides . 256 ram , big resolution for qualcomm 7227 600 mhz :-s . And also it comes prepacked with 2.1 . And considering the fact it's practically a pretty no-name phone ( compared to O1 which sold about 2 million units in less than an year ) you can probabily guess that it doesn;'t have the same support by the community.
Being stuck on 2.1 is a very sad thing.
Cheers
Go for galaxy ace?
first off its got support with the cyanogen devs I men its listed on their first page so how can u say its not widely supported plus ram is unlockable to 512 mb..i have heard that zte blade or san francisco as it is called is very famous and has many roms.. further reading also showed that higher resolution makes the display gorgeous though it might get a bit slow.....as for samsung ace it doesn't even have a community ..when buying android phone s community is a must..ace will never get official gingerbread..the hardware is same as our o1 too nothing worth its price
Ps zte blade already has an official cm7 unstable port at cyanogen site
too large resolution for only a 600 mhz chip.
it will definitely put a strain on it just to process graphics. lower refresh rate and definitely lower fps.
and no official gingerbread update from zte is a big downside. and the battery is only 1250mah?
about galaxy ace, it doesn't have a good community support as optimus one, and i think it will be stuck on froyo cause it seems samsung is not going to upgrade it anymore.
i say stick to your optimus one first and just invest and save money on a better product that has a better support and that is known.
How is Xperia X10 running it???? SOny phones have such high resolutions
O1 rules . At first i was not happy because scrolling was not smooth i got frustrated n decided to sell this phone and get htc desire but after discovering this wonderful community and installing Megatron and mikos kernel for lag fix i am very happy with my phone. I would say that this phone sucks with the stock Rom. But once you install custom Rom you will feel that its speed has increased 2x. hardware of this phone is the best for this price. LG fuked up with the software.

Simple decision bro ...
If you use it mainly for chatting and reading etc - DELL XCD35
If you use it for playing games - O1
Bottom line is since they use the same chip but XCD35 has a higher resolution, the XCD35 would have to work that much harder to render the same image ... So once you get into big games, this will be a downside ...
However, if you use it ONLY for casual games (like paper toss and other timepass games) and use it for chatting and reading stuff, the higher res screen ( and much higher DPI) will make the text more pleasing to read ...

Well a bit good 3d gaming is always welcome..Looks to me like Optimus one is an all-rounder and is worth every penny...One question though if i use LCD density app from market will it increase my phone's resolution or will it just change the dpi or something..Can anybody tell if its the real thing and how it works ??? http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/change-android-screen-resolution-with-lcd-density/

doesn't lag on my mine @ stock speed. which rom?
BTW, heres my view:
things going against XCD35 = slow processor (can be OC'd), less ram (unlocking fails most of the time), bad battery life, no warranty (if getting from Orange).
things working for O1: 100-120Mhz OC is descent & doesn't affect battery life but increase in performance is noticeable, good battery life, cheap but comes with good, balanced specs (but wish it had a camera flash). & for those who don't mind to install custom roms, Gingerbread is cooked & ready to serve (ignore those flies please).

[Q] Ace's Processor

Hello Guys ,
I am planning on buying Samsung Galaxy Ace. I want to make sure whether it is true that Galaxy Ace has the same processor that LG Optimus One P500 has , but it's just overclocked in case of Ace ?
Not overclocked buts its the turbo version, thats by default 800mhz

Are you sure ? and if Yes, is it possible to overclock Ace's processor in the future ?
check pdadb.net's database, the processor of ace is speciafically turbo version with 800mhz as default.
i think we could overclock it if custom os kernel is out, which russell is working on
dont knw about about processor... but my cousin has lg 500 and my bro galaxy ace... and they both agree wid me galaxy ace is far more smoother and better than lg 500... and a medium sized screen is just a charm...
Has your cousin flashed his LGO1 with any custom ROM ? I have heard that "Megatron ROM" for LGO1 makes it perform much better than how it performs when it's stuck with its stock ROM and enables it to handle/run much resource consuming games and apps !!
Well, I, personally haven't used it nor have seen somebody using it

hi bot9011,
custom roms for Samsung galaxy ace are undr development (ie. Darky rom, villain rom and Cyanogen). As of now we have a light weight Villain ROM, and believe me it is very responsive. So if you think about the future when Overclock kernels are built, it can be overclocked to 1GHz! With all these top class ROM and a better hardware, this phone has got the punch.
LG P500 has been around for a year now and the development has evolved pretty well, and in the current scenario new phones are rolling out at an alarmingly fast rate, so it would be disastrous if you buy old phones. You will repent later, believe me...
With all these said the decision is yours to make.
And congrats in advance on your new ANDROID!

If your concern is to have current hardware this is not a good device for that being it uses an arm11 processor. I have not seen anything to indicate this chipset is any different than the standard msm7227 but with an increase in clock speed and most likely voltage too.
As far as the optimus is concerned the additional ram is far more valuable than the extra clock speed in my opinion. Not to mention that the optimus is far more prevalent which is the reason the developer backing is much better.
I'm interested to see if there is any hardware differences and what kind of oc clock speeds you guys achieve.
Thanks a lot for the reply!
Well if you are saying that LG O1 has obsolete hardware and Galaxy Ace is any day better than it, I would like to say that you're pretty wrong !
Both the phones sport the same processor , that is , ARM11 V6 and most of the upcoming updates will be for the phones equipped with V7 and v7+ processors (That's what a senior member on this website, named silvertooth ,told me )
And Yeah, it is true that Ace's processor is said to be in turbo mode so that it can tick at 800Mhz without any issues! But I don't think it is possible to further overclock Ace's processor and even if somebody managed to do it, the phone's battery wouldn't even last for a day
On the other hand it's quite easy to overclock LG O1's processor to an extent of 750Mhz without adversely affecting it's battery backup! It has even got 512MB of RAM !!
The main disadvantage of LGO1 is , it's screen is a dust magnet! Dust easily gets accumulated under it's screen and as far as I know, LG hasn't rectified the problem yet Otherwise I believe it's a pretty good phone that you can get for 10K INR!
Waddya guys say ?

Dude,
If u have an issue with budget get the LG phone, if not, get the ace i am not biasing you. All I feel is, (note:I have seen the LG P500) ace has better looks than LG P500, and I personally like good looking phones and also the 5 MP camera with the LED flash is way better than the LG camera(I like taking good photos and good videos 640x480). the 3.5" screen is pretty good for video playback and I prefer touch buttons than the HW button for the back and menu functionalities.
All these are my personal views.
Goodluck on your buy!
Flash Player
hi, guys! is it true that our ace will have soon flash player?!
Qualcomm’s 800MHz MSM7x27™ mobile processor will be the first to enable Flash Player for the mass market segment of smartphones, allowing handset manufacturers to offer richer Web-based multimedia and graphics experiences for casual games, applications, videos and other Flash-based content.

Meaning it will affect the phone in the future..? what should i do then..keep it at 600 always and 768 when i have to play or watch a video? and can you please tell me when changes will appear if i use 768 continuously?
And thanks for replying
I never even need it at 745. And I don't think the effects will kick in for a year or so. Its fine really, but just supposedly shortens your hardwares lifetime
Sent from my GT-I5500 using Tapatalk
the phone feels much faster at 768 and some games which used to run with a lot of lag are silky smooth now..thats why i was reluctant to keep it at 600....

[NO Hopeless?] GLBenchmark 2.1 Egypt Offscreen 720p (Frames) Xperia S Compare

Our XPS Benchmark is very low
of mine result is 3766 frames 33fps
NOTES THAT UPPER LINK, WE CAN SEE OUR XPS IN PAGE 3
http://glbenchmark.com/result.jsp?b...-2&screen-group=true&screen=3&var=top&oldal=2
AND IF YOU COMPARE OUR XPS WITH SOME DEVICE, SUCH AS ss GALAXY S2 I9100, I DISAPOINTED! http://glbenchmark.com/compare.jsp
i'm only sad that why SONY do not use new chip for XPS, it's chip is from 2010! and so some time it lag, i dont want so
BUT XPS STILL BEST DEVICE OF SONY
Whats is your?
Yea but how much pixels and resolution must render our phone, how much galaxy s2?
This is not comparable, due to SXS HD 720P.
You should only compare to other phone which also have 720p display.
Compare xperia arc s with sgs2, you will see results.

i don't thing so, this test method ( GLBenchmark 2.1 Egypt Offscreen 720p )
is not depend on device resolution, because it computed and count frame by buffer at 720p resolustion not display on display!!!
and i think that with a hi resolution device as our XPS, SONY must thing it need stronger CPU and GPU!
Mine is 34 fps, but more importantly why do you care? All of the games run on the device so what is the point. You could have known this before buying the phone so why complain?
Yea but however SGS2 phisicaly have less pixells and resolution.
You can play full HD video on pc but resolution of your pc display can be a way under it.

any one flashed rom Cooked can share your benchmark?
thanks
every benchmark test stated its only for refrence and not represent real life performance .
And the benchmark is not low . It have higher score when compare to evo 3d and sensation XE which having same chip and higher pixel .
XPS can run all ( exclude software compatible ) application on the market with extra speed . What you want more ?
SG2 mali 400 gpu use different graphic rendering method from adreno . It have problem in compatible with gameloft games . Qualcomm gpu is the best compatible for games in the market .
Try Electopia benchmark, it gives higher load and gives nice results: XPS is faster than the Sensation

And why the hell you care about the benchmark? Got Crysis 2 on your phone, or? DDD strange guys...
I LOLed at the "hopeless" in the title. What's the big deal with lower benchmarks? I think people on XDA could sometimes get a bit paranoid about battery life and benchmarks. Seriously, didn't you buy a mobile phone to USE it?
Make sense -.-
Its kinda strange to buy a handphone to look at its benchmark .
Isnt that your daily use experience is more important ?

If you're looking to game on it, you will notice a big performance difference for high-end games. Also, ROMs are not compatible. They both have CM10 and CM9 nightlies, and they both look the same, but to me they're two completely different phones.

You're getting ripped off. You can get a mint i9100 for that much. If anything, try looking for the i777. It is an i9100T (i9100 with NFC) and it's the AT&T model. The only difference is it has a 4-button layout instead of the big clicky button in the middle. i9100 ROMs work on it too, you just need to flash a button fix because the button layout is different.

You'll be fine with the i9100G then.

dats why i m confused about dis ...

hows i9100g as compared to xperia sola , p, or galaxy s advance , atrix 2 or galaxy nexus in terms of hardware n software ???
Galaxy S Advance is more powerful; it has the Galaxy S II i9100 CPU/GPU (Exynos Dual + Mali-400 GPU). Camera might be better on the i9100G (since it has the same camera as i9100). Galaxy Nexus with Jelly Bean is also very smooth but it has a terrible, terrible camera and only 16GB (11GB usable) of storage.

No, it's actually a dual-core. But in terms of support and easiest bootloader unlocking, you can't beat a Nexus. So if you can look past the camera and you don't need more than 11GB of storage, the Galaxy Nexus is your best choice.

I believe there is not much difference between the I9100 and the I9100G if you are not intending to play intensive games on the phone. Just my opinion though.

And development for the G model is less than the international model.

Both these are true. Although development has picked up with CM9 (ICS) and CM10 (Jellybean).
Between the Galaxy Nexus and the i9100G, you're basically only looking at the camera. The one on the Galaxy Nexus is known to be beyond horrible while the one on all the Galaxy S II variants is amazing (both I know from experience). If you need expandable storage, go for the i9100G but if you want a TON of ROMs and updates first from Google, go for the Galaxy Nexus.
