Having weird prox issues:
When i make a call, i place the phone to my ear, screen turns off correctly. when the call ends, the screen does not turn back on and there is NO WAY for me to turn it back on. Only way is to batt pull....
Also, after the call has ended, if i receive a call, ppl get my voice mail...ie my phone goes into some kinda purgatory state...anyone else have this issue?

[Q] Screen not during off during phone call?

Having an issue where once a phone call is made, the screen doesn't seem to turn off. The end result is calls ending up on speaker phone, muted, random numbers held down for long periods of time, etc. It's quite annoying at this point.
Is any one else experiencing this??
I have had the same issue with my screen multiple times. Sometimes I back it off my face, then put it back & that works....best method is to just tap the power(unlock/fingerprint scanner) button.
ya, that's exactly what i've had to do too. any ideas whether it's a software or hardware sensor issue?

[Q] Proximity Sensor: Photon on CM9

Hi,
I am having issues with ending calls. After I speak with someone and I remove my photon away from my ear, the screen refuses to turn on. The calls stays connected. The only way to end the call is to pull the battery. This happens randomly and frequently almost half the calls.
The entire phone is unresponsive, even the power or volume buttons do nothing. The screen remains off. I guess this has to do something with the proximity sensor.
One thing I have observed is it happens a lot (much more than half) if I get to voicemail or any IVRS system.
I am on beta 0.4.2.1 of joker's. Is anyone facing the same issues? I have had this issue long, pre-beta 0.3
Looking for suggestions and fixes if anyone has one.

I did not experience this issue running 0.4.2.1. First thing I would do is download ScreenOn from the Market and set it to keep the screen on when using the dailer/call function.
Not sure what is actually causing this on your particular device though.

[Q] faulty or bug?

second day and already have many problems:
1. ringtone turned off vibration only. still have ringtone with incoming calls
2. making calls screen turned off once near ear. moving away from ear doesn't turn on the screen. try any button nothing works. have to turn off power to cut
3. smart stay isn't smart. screen still turned black even with bright environment
Am I unluckily with a faulty phone or they are known bugs? thanks
Not to sure mate
I have had NONE! of the problems that you have had, although i have had a few problems e.g. the turn to mute media stopped working and things like that, all i had to do was a restore and it is fine now, i was speaking to the people at the carphone warhouse (phone shop in the uk) they said they have only had 1 return since launch and that was because the screen wasnt big enough and they went for the note, i have also always found that samsung is happy to help you if you have a problem with your phone just give them a ring.
1: you need to explain exactly what you changed.
2: It's supposed to go off near ear because uses proximity sensor to save battery turning screen off.
3: Smartstay just doesn't work as well as it should do.

[Q] Problem while making a call

I am having a problem while calling/making outgoing call....as, whenever I call to any person, and while I am talking ...suddenly by mistake or slight touch of my skin the phone starts its slow talk or otherwise suddenly put the person on hold...what to do to avoid this proximity issues
Do you have a second screen protector on it? If yes, re-calibrate the proximity sensor. If no, i guess you can re-calibrate it either way.
I have already re calibrate the screen, that's not the issue. but main problem is that, when we make a call and if touch skin to the screen suddenly it will start something new issue like slowing down the conversation, or put the caller on hold etc. I want to know how to get rid of that problem particularly?

Can't answer phone calls!

Wondering if this happens to anyone else. Sometimes when there is an incoming phone call the screen remains turned off and there is no way to see who's calling or to answer the call. The power button does nothing. Basically, all you can do is wait for the call to go to voice mail, then wait another 30-40 seconds after which the phone finally responds to the power button and turns on. This drives me crazy. What good is the damn phone if you can't answer important phone calls? Interestingly, this was my biggest complain about the stupid iPhone 6, where a lot of times I would be getting a call and the screen would be frozen. Are the phones only for web browsing and facebooking now? Making and receiving phone calls is a secondary feature and no one complains if it doesn't work?
Second issue. Every phone I've had going back many years has had a proximity sensor, where during a call the screen goes dark once you hold the phone to your ear and wakes up once you move it. The V10 does NOT do that. The screen never wakes up by itself, I always have to hit the power button. Is this a "feature" or a bug?
