[Q] Market download unsuccessful [Insufficient Space] after flashing fruitcake - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed the 2.3.4 fruitcake found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163009 and now whenever I try to update an app it says download unsuccessful. I can't download any apps either. I've tried clearing the cache and data for the market. I've also reflashed the fruitcake multiple times and tried it but it still gives the same error. How do I fix this?
EDIT: Read my next post for the insufficient space error.

Why using that system ?
Flash a good ROM ..
Try to uninstall your current market and install this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1272152
If not working, you can find more solutions by using Search option on XDA or Google.

System? It's stock...
I've tried it with CM7 too, same problem
That market apk doesn't work either. However, the new error says "There is insufficient space on the device". The device has 2 gigs of free space...
I've searched google and the forums. The standard fixes don't seem to be working (clearing market data/cache).

Can anyone help me out? I've googled the insufficient space error but I can't find anything that works.

What happend if you install app from pc ?
Go ahead and install this for example : https://market.android.com/details?id=com.quoord.tapatalkxda.activity
Click install, after that connect to your google account, next it will send the installation to your device.

So online it says "This app will be downloaded to your device shortly" and then on my Atrix it says the same error: "Error downloading 'XDA-Developers'. There is insufficient space on the device."

Google solutions:
If you receive a "Download unsuccessful" message when attempting to download an app, try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
For paid applications, confirm your credit card information is up to date by signing in to your Google Checkout account.
Clear your Market cache (visit Settings > Applications > Clear cache).
Restart your phone, then try downloading the app again.
Wait 10 minutes, and try your download again.
Confirm there is connectivity to either a wireless or cellular network on your device, and contact your mobile service provider if you aren't connected.
Ensure there’s enough space on your phone or tablet for the app to install.
If none of the above steps work, try remounting your SD card.
Visit Menu > Settings > Storage > Unmount SD card; then remount the SD card from the same menu by selecting Remount SD card, or restart the device if the remount option isn’t available.

[Q] Can't complete downloads from Android Market

Hey, I just rooted my NC with AutoNooter 3.0. It works great except one part. When I start a download from the Android Market it tells me it will download, shows a bar that says, "Starting Download" and doesn't go any further. Other than re-booting, I haven't tried anything else except opening Google Talk, which won't authenticate. Any ideas for fix? Please be detailed (I'm a noobie and old...sorry!) Steve
I have the same problem with market download. Freeze at Starting download and google talk failed at authentication. I even installed different system but can't get it back to work. Please help!

What ROM are you guys running?
Using Honeycomb, having the same issues. Apps that are known to work on HC fail to download in the market
Try:
open Settings --> Applications --> Manage Applications --> All --> Market
Clear cache, and then Force Close
open Settings --> Applications --> Manage Applications --> All --> Google Services Framework
Clear data, and then Force Close
Reboot
You can also try using the Honeycomb gapps installer v2 in the development forum. This fixed all my market and google talk issues.
Thanks ecomemail. Th nook color has settings but doesn't allow for that option. It makes sense to clear this out, but...
Same problem here with auto-nootered 1.1. Freezes at "Starting download..."
Installed new market, didn't help...
I have this problem when I'm on my work's wireless. It's an authenticated network via browser login (it's our guest network). Even after logging into the network, my marketplace downloads hang on "Starting download." Once I connect to any other wifi network, my downloads complete.

Tried this fix, no luck.
Edit: I found a solution to my problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11545846&postcount=400
"To fix market download problems I force stopped Market, cleared its cache and data. Did the same for Google Framework Services. Then in ROM Manager I fixed permissions, rebooted to recovery. In recovery I formatted cache. I got the four unable to mount cache messages that others reported, but the Market works."
Try getting MarketEnabler from the Market.
On the Actual tab click save current settings.
Then click on the Settings List
Hold down on [us] T-Mobile and make a selection.
May have to reboot and then try the market again.
Hope this works.
Im having this problem on the latest CM7 rom. None of the solutions posted have helped. Any suggestions?

Unable to install latest Google Maps from Market

My Amaze 4g is running stock, rooted ROM. I have Maps version 5.11.0 installed. Anytime I try to upgrade to the new version from Market, it fails, telling me the package is not signed correctly. If I uninstall Maps and then try to reinstall the new version, it says something like, UNKNOWN ERROR -8. I've tried installing from the .apk with similar results.
Ive had similar issue before, have you tried restarting the phone then re-installing? Worked for me but i wasnt getting the same error. Just a suggestion worth a try
I've tried uninstalling, then wiping the cache, dalvik-cache, then rebooting. I still get the same error -8
Try this:
First make a nandroid backup just in case.
Next
Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Maps > then chose either Uninstall updates or try to Uninstall. If either one works then...
from adb (windows command prompt or linux terminal):
adb remount
rm /system/app/Maps.apk
Then clear the dalvik cache.
Reboot.
Alternatively use a root file manger (Such as Root Explorer), mount as R/W then just delete the Maps.apk file. Clear the dalvik-cache and reboot.
That should do just as well.
Good luck!

Do you know how to get the logcat? I think you can download an app from the Market. Check to see what it says when you get the unknown error.

Google Play (Market) Error: 923 and Insufficient Space

Recently did a factory reset, then rooted and unlocked.
Since then I'm getting errors downloading apps. This seems to occur only over the wireless connection, not over Wifi. I have verified that I can access the SD-card and external SD-card. have plenty of available storage space (per Settings/Storage): 2.58 GB app, 8.43 GB internal, 29.06GB SD card. Also have a good data connection per browser/weather app use!
These are the two errors I am seeing when trying to download apps from Google Play:
"App xyz" could not be downloaded due to an error. (923)
Error downloading "App xyz". There is insufficient space on the device.
Searched to find a fix, but couldn't find a good answer. Can anyone help me?
I would flash Th3bill's full wipe @ http://www.jokersax.com/developer-pages/th3bill/809-2/ then flash your rom.
if that doesn't work, you'll have to go back to stock sbf and see if that fixed it. if OK, root... if OK, unlock. an incremental way to isolate the issue.

Dont do a full wipe just yet... Just go to settings, manage apps, click on play store, click clear data, then reboot. This will probably fix it.

It wasn't enough to clear settings, I had to do the full wipe and installing MIUI 2.6.22 fixed it.
I appreciate your the help!!
I had error 923 on my sgs3 and clearing app data resolved it.

1. under settings/apps go to google store.
2. cache and data reset.
3. update deinstall, and akzept reset to google store basic version !
4. delete googlemail account under accounts&syncronisation.
5. go to google store app, insert googlemail account new.
google store meanwhile has updated to newest version and will keep runing fine again now ! :good:
This can sometimes happen after a fresh install and gapps tries to throw every update it has logged for you at the phone. just retry after installing what sticks. usually sorts it. many phones have this issue

This helped me after using CF- Autoroot by Chainfire, on my nexus 5. Thanks man!
Possible solution
I've ran into error 923 in Google Play.
None of the above worked, and I finally managed to fix it by deleting /data/core/zcore*.zip files (2.5GB in total).
By the looks of permissions on those files, some files could be deleted without root, but not all of them.
this video fixed the problem for me.. while it's "kind of a long video" for the 2 easy steps.. it's just the 2 steps.. 'clear cache' (not sure that helped, really?)
but the 2nd step did help.. I rolled back google play to a 'older'-orginal version.. and that fixed it

It was a pleasure to help you.
I came to this solution trying all what I found on dozens of forums. Most of them don't work. Sadly I don't remember where I found this one, to give the proper credits.
Anyway, you can press my thank button to increase my thank meter, LOL

My answer was based on my experience on a Samsung Galaxy S i9000 , with CWM 6.0.2.x (IIRC)
There was a "fix permissions" option in the advanced menu, I think you should search on Google "cwm +recovery +YourModel"

com.android.phone has stopped - My Solution
I've had this while showing my friend my new ROM & Recovery install.
Philz Touch had just turned itself into standard 6.0.4.5 so I re-zipped it ... WRONG!!!
First I got "Unfortunately .... com.android.phone" message, so I cleared the caches, factory reset (forgot to format system cache - but hey!) THEN reflashed the ROM (Paranoid Android 4.4.3 RC1) and the GApps (PA-Mini)
THEN I started getting "Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped".
Hmmm ... So I started thinking "Media huh?"
Went into recovery and mounted the SDCard0 and SDCard1.
Aaannd ... she's working again.
Of course, now I'm waiting while all my Apps reload (Good old Google Sync :good: ), then Contacts etc.
But at least I got the damn thing back to working. :fingers-crossed:
Moral of the story "Don't mess with it if it ain't broke!"
p.s.
Someone who knows what they're doing will probably post a simpler method ...

Try formatting your sd card or try using another sd card.......the main problem is of storage......either your sd card cannot store it properly.....or your net connection is problematic.....because Google's server cannot be down ever...

I only use wifi to download apps.
Will try formatting the sdcard and tell you if that helps
