Slow neo - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

My phone slows a lot.
Why?
I'm new to android.
sent from Xperia neo

Need a lot more detail... F/W version for one, after how long, what have you added, etc.

I have 2.3.4
And have normal bunch of applications and also advanced task killer and app2sd.
sent from Xperia neo

Not sure why you feel the need for a Task Killer. Android takes care of itself. Suggest you ditch that immediately.
I would also strongly suggest you re-update your phone but do a full factory reset FIRST.
Don't allow Google to reinstall your apps automatically.

My Neo also became slow after a month or so.
I think this is caued by a lot of apps, and also a lot of apps that startup and stay with the phone.
Solutions are to delete some apps, and to root your phone (which is very easy).
After rooting, you can delete bloatware (pre-installed apps you don't use and can't remove, like the Facebook app) and move your self-installed apps to another part of the phone memory, which let's them load faster.

Will the bootloader remain open forever?
What is the use of it?
I don't want to install any custom Rom at the moment.
Till which step should I go for opening the Rom?
Explain please it's confusing.

You dont need task killer
You dont need app2sd
You dont need unlock/relock bootloader if you dont want
You dont need custom rom
You dont need worry about slow phone
What you need?
You need ROOT
Use "search"

You need to spend some time looking around this site and gaining an understanding. Also, why don't you get to know your phone and Android a lttle before you start trying other things. And stop trying to run before you can walk.

How i'm gonna satisfy my self with 320mb?

Please be specific about the word Root.
And is there any custom rom available for neo right now or are we waiting for cm7?

Actually I have a great idea about these things because 2 years back I used to flash my w700.
All i want to find is how it's done on android.

[Q] Speed tweak for stock .42 ?

hello all, i am a neo V user and the .42 n .62 roms are not that fast and gives very less free RAM.. is there any speed tweak available for locked bootloaders on stock rom?
there is ZipIT but its for unlocked bootloaders!
If you can root your rom then I guess you can try out Supercharger

Standard smartphone user is
1. He installing half market into his phone and after that complaining why he don't had no more space/ram/rom/memory
2. He absolutely always installs ALL xda battery, speed and etc tweaks his phone...results:a lot force closes and terrible laggy phone and sh*t battery life.
3. They 1st doing...and after that thinking
4. They think...."hmm..they developings rom, kernel, apps....its so easy. I make too some "good stuff" and I'm now "I know everything"
5. They know where is "search button" but they don't know how to use it.
Nothing personal
Its just my opinion. (about standard user)

ICS running out of memory

I have a problem when I watch flash videos and surf many websites, ics kills the browser and the launcher. Is there a way to fix that issue.
Using JJs hybrid from v2.2 but had that issue with Ka and I-Scream rooms. I didn't have that problem with stock GB rom.

Maybe you don't use it as much as he.
Try opening few tabs in browser, then minimize it and open chat program, or some other program, root explorer or something simple as that. Then go back to browser, you will be lucky if all your tabs are still there
As sdk16420 said, ICS is more hungry than GB, and that is a fact. If someone use phone his phone lite, chances that he will notice that are smaller.

yeah there is a point, i use my phone only for daily use, fb, twitter, whatsapp, play some games watch on XDA through my phone, make some pic, nothing else, and clean always the cache after that, i have tons of games but no losing memory to nothing, so the problems is indeed by that guy itself, no bad meaning ofcourse and what sdk16420 said, my stock ICS is not slow for sure but yes i supercharged it and it runs smooth, fine and fast.

HTC Desire C
Check the specs of HTC Desire C this phone comes with ICS
As you'll see below, the catalog also sheds some light on the specs of the device. Here's what we have confirmed for now: The HTC Desire C has a 3.5-inch screen with 320x480 resolution and runs on a 600MHz processor. Connectivity-wise it's 3.5G, whatever that means, but we're guessing it's HSDPA. The handset also has 4GB of internal memory and a 5MP camera. But most importantly, this low-spec'd device will run Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

If this phone can handle ics then Neo shouldn't have any problems handling ICS whatsoever.
Source
@Tenacius D:it's not questionable can it run, but how good can it run
Neo V can run it, but it runs it so sad and slow, at least in case Sony stock ICS
Actually CPU is not so important in story, RAM's are.
Weaker CPU will get the job done, but (a bit) slower, lesser RAM will get your apps killed in the background.
I would prefer 500Mhz with 1GB ram's, than 1.5Ghz quad core and 512MB ram's but that's just me
Madfysh I agreed with you more ram better multitasking but CM9 and aokp are prof that ics can run better on our phone apps are lighter on memory and hardware is better utilized sony can also do this but they don't wanna waste resource on last year phones.

Just that sony rom sucks

I have also faced this issue when I installed the official ICS ROM on my NEO. Can anyone suggest a viable solution?
BTW, I have officially unlocked my boot loader now (I hope) and I hope to use some other ROM out there and see their performance.
And, as far as RAM is concerned, I have a Galaxy S and it has only 512 MB RAM and it runs ICS very nicely (stock AOSP).

I think this has to be about hardware more than the apk itself if that was the case it will be included in all the xperia packages.
But i can`t be sure of that so lets try it.

There isn't any glovemode.apk or any apk related to glovemode.
It is in framework of Xperia sola.It won't be easy to port it other device and also you might need hardware.

Rooting as such won't help get rid of Lag ! But rooting gives you the gateway to flash custom Roms and get rid of the lag you have no stock Rom!
Take a read of the sticky threads in dev section and general!
Then you can proceed and incase you get stuck up,you can always ask!

Try to install the latest version as it improved the power management... I used SEEDER to reduce lag of my note 2 (actually I just want to make sure it performs the best speed without lag, without using it my phone works fine). :-
For the battery drain issue, I used One Power Guard, which I tested before, it does reduce the power usage (Got a very good result during deep sleep, and daily usage... usually without using it, my battery drains at least 7% after whole night, while using it, my battery only drains about 3% the most!)
TRY AGAIN (IF IT DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU I AM SO SORRY...)
MY BEST RECOMMENDATION IS FLASH A CUSTOM ROM (less bloatwares and tweeked for maximum performance) AND CUSTOM KERNEL (better RAM management and other stuffs which will help to improve stability of your phone, including battery saving). DO SOME UNDERVOLTING... IT WILL HELP...

I'm on stock .631, I experienced this too, IMHO seeder doesn't helps on my side still i noticed lags and slowdowns in the phone.
You know what i did? flash a custom Kernel(i had the BL unlocked), the tigris kernel by bootbu9, flash the the latest adreno libs(thank you Saingpor for helping me :highfive: ) and remove bloatwares. Now the phone seems fluid and responsive, no more lags maybe just a little bit but not always the same as before, since i use my phone normally(no games) I just OC at 245min and 1018max with smartassv2 governor and NOOP scheduler. Now my phone operates as i wanted it to be.
I have installed betterbatterystats, system panel, cpu cpy app to monitor the phones power usage. Battery and standby varies, it mainly depends on how the user uses the phone, apps installed on it so for me IMHO there is no such thing as battery saver app(sometimes they only just cause wakelocks on my experience). Just do the basics, manually switch off wifi, BT when not in use, adjust the brightness(i uncheck the adapt to lighting conditions - light sensor), turn on airplane mode if you want to keep your phone away or simply turn the phone off if you really want to save power, Turn off 3g and or background data if its not neccessry, etc. In this way you really can save your phones battery power.

[Q] Xperia u never works properly

Hey everyone,
I've been looking for a good rom for a while now, and everytime I find a rom which claims to be lag free, has a lot of free memory or other tweaks that may add on it's performance I try it out. Just to be dissapointed. I always have lag, My camera is never as fast as it should be, and 'out of the box' I always have memory problems.
I always follow the exact instructions as displayed, and never forget to wipe. So how come my phone never works as fast as it should?
Is the xperia U really that bad or am I just expecting too much from the devs?
Right now I am running Miui V5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482327) which claims to be lag free, stable and 185 mb free ram. I never have that much ram.
What is going wrong here?
