[Q] Android Virtual Calls Assistant? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to know if it is possible to do the following:
1. When "Unknown" calls, after a few seconds audio recording starts and asks caller to recall but with identified number this time. Otherwise there is no other way to reach recipient.
2. When not answering for a long time, audio recording starts and tells that recipient is busy.
I want to hire 2 professional voiceovers to voiceover all the above on 2 different languages.
Is this all possible?
Thanks!

Sony Ericsson’s MBW-150 Music Edition or any Bluetooth Watch paired with T-Mobile G1

I'm looking at getting one of Sony's Bluetooth watches... I've seen the 150 music that I like, but was wondering does anyone have these with a G1? Do the two talk to each other??
Can I make use of the caller display, text message notification, call notification and call termination features of the phone???
Cheers!!!
SE MBW currently doesn't work with Android. The LM technologies watches/bracelets work, but for caller id only (I haven't tried if it displays the name or the number only).
As soon as Google releases Bluetooth API, I will start working on an application that will make all the watches fully compatible.

Cheers MoneyToo,
Does the watch work at all? If callerdisplay doesn't work, will it vibrate with calls and/or show the number? Can I terminate calls, or get a warning for texts or if you're out of range of the phone?
Cheers!
Sony Ericsson MBW - doesn't work at all (non standard connection)
LM Technologies watches - uses Headset profile so it works on every device - vibrates on incoming call and displays the phone number (or person's name if the device supports this feature). When there's an incoming call you can press a button to accept the call (no ignore call button). I haven't really tried that on Android but on most systems it doesn't work with text messages (only Sony Ericsson and maybe some others). Out of range notification works.

That's a shame... was looking to get the Music one... guess there's no point with a G1 then... :-(
Does the new 1.5 SDK have the necessary bluetooth APIs for this project to get started?
Nope...

This one i know what i'm talking about....
call recording depends on local and state laws. Some states/countries it is against the law to record phone conversions. While it other only one of the two party members must be made aware of the recording and very very few allow one to record a phone call with out either member knowing.
I would first HIGHLY suggest looking into your local laws regarding this prior to doing it. You could get in some trouble over it.
I know Google Voice will allow you to record incoming calls, but not out going calls. Other than that i do not know of program that will allow you to do this.
this is mainly for when i call customer service lines so there is no problem as they record it as well. plus i'm in a state where only one party (myself) needs to be informed.
edit: tried vrecorder but it records from microphone. no biggie but who likes to use speakerphone?
i read somewhere that android itself limits the recording. can anyone clear this up for me?
I've tried a few of them- all of them were OK if using speaker. without speaker only your voice can be heard and the other side only very faint, if heard at all.
now I an using "record my call" (with the ugly big red button) and it is relatively working fine most of the time. I like it because it enables you to classify as important, delete record etc after the call...

Android doesn't have any mechanism for recording incoming audio in the OS. For some reason it's missing, even though Android is not bound to US borders, and call recording is perfectly legal in other parts of the world. This is the reason why there are few programs to record calls on Android, and none of them work w/o using speaker.
The only existing way to record would be to put the phone on speaker and use any voice recorder you want.
I use "allcallrecorder" just search for it in the market. Works great for me.

Call recorder

So older Nokias had this feature built in. The ability to record phone calls. With new smartphones, they build them in such a way where you can't program an app to do that. Recording a phone call to the phone's memory directly.
Please tell me Nokia has stuck with this and built the mic in a way you can record calls. Awaiting hardware and software experts to comment.
thanks!
There are restriction in certain US States to record call. Symbian phone made by European manufacturer may allow software to record incoming call but put "beep" sound natively.
About two years ago I used to have Nokia e90 with symbian and a software called Total Recall.
That software allowed me to automatically record incoming and outgoing calls without the beep.
I'm more than sure that the same software is available on Blackmart for ROOTED android devices.
I just don't need it this is why I don't use it right now.
After all it is very convenient to record a call because you do not have to write down anything while you'r driving.

[q] voice mail answering machine

Hopefully after many years research finally I found a local voicemail answering machine
MyVoiceMail Answering machine 3.02
it works greate and do what exactly suppose to
1.it will take call for you after definite adjustable seconds
2.play a greeting message as defualt(you can record your own)
3.after playin a ring record message.
Everythings OK
but unfortunantly there is a problem
that it will not mute the mic of the phone while recording message or playing greeting
so the other side can hear what happen at this side( such as my voice or any other sound)
By the way there are many options in this app for recorder source and mode and also greeting source and mode
I try all of them NOTHING CHANGED
I Openly respect to ur suggestions But I think the only way that it will work is that I manually mute mic myself
I try to do it while in call but it cant reach zero and stuck at 1 point(Because of this app , normally it will)
Thank you

1400Hz tone when recording calls with Android Pie - How to disable? [unanswered]

Hello fellow droiders,
February 2018 it was announced that Android Pie will add call recording tone support so calls could be recorded lawfully:
https://www.xda-developers.com/android-p-call-recording-tone-support-record-phone-calls-lawfully/
I can confirm that Google did this... I'm in UK and here you don't need consent to record calls, but because Vodafone is Germany based and there you need consent, they activated this tone feature for UK clients as well. Which means that every time I call someone and record a call, other party hears 1400Hz tone every 15 seconds, making call recording pretty much unusable.
Any ideas from fellow hackers how to turn this feature off?
The tone is a 1400Hz note that will play every fifteen seconds if the carrier enables it. It works by detecting the package name of a call recording app using the previously linked API. If any such package is detected, then the outgoing call will have the tone played to warn the other end that their call may be recorded. The tone will be automatically played depending on carrier configuration, which is determined by the SIM card.
Any chances to change a package name to something that wouldn't be recognized by this new feature?
Pixel 3, unlocked bootloader & rooted.
Thanks!
Anyone please?
