[Q] transfer files from android phone ext sd to tab? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have pics on my rooted atrix's external sd card. Astro bluetooth nor bluetooth file trans app show the sd card even when browsing from the phone. Is there a "right" way to do this? Some way to make the sd discoverable as a drive?
I know I could move to internal storage on phone then using astro btooth upload to tab or use tab to find the file. But the folder is too big to put on the phones internal. And of course there's dropbox but isn't there an easy direct way to browse the phones ext sd from my tab?
If the answer involes vpn, kies or adhoc could u plz explain.
Thanks all!

you can download root explorer or another file browser that has access to all of your folders. Of course you need to root your tablet before.

And that has bluetooth file transfer? I have rooted the tab.

[Q] permanently download from card reader to gallery

I can't seem to figure out how to permantly download pictures from memory cards to the gallery on my tab. They show up as long as card reader is plugged in but disappear when removed. Using the Samsung USB adapter with Sony 17 in 1 card reader.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Tried searching but my keyboard disappears when I click on search box......?
I'm not sure what you're asking. It makes sense to me that once you unplug the card reader that none of pictures on the card reader would be viewable.
If you want those photos in your gallery after you remove the SD card then copy them to the Tab's internal memory from the SD card.
Thats what im trying to do... Transfer files to tabs internal memory.

Use a file explorer app like EZ File Explorer, ASTRO File Manager or Root Explorer. In your /sdcard/ folder copy the images from a folder named usbStorage to your Pictures or any other folder in /sdcard/.

[Q] Transfer IE Favorites to Flyer

Just got a Flyer wi-fi model. Synced with my computer and transfered IE favorites to the Flyer. Have no idea where they are located. When I open the stock internet program it is not there. Any help would be appreciated. I'd like it integrated with the internet program. I have Firefox installed but doesn't seem to have favorites section that I can find.
In addition how can I access the SD card I put in the Flyer from the Flyer. Thanks for your help.
Alan
I think you will find that HTC Sync created a new bookmark folder on your PC and only items you place in that folder are synced.
The external SD card shows up as sdcard2 at the root level for Root explorer file manager.
Apps by default use the internal SD card for data storage.
I don't quite understand about creating the favorites on my computer. But if it did how do I transfer it to my Flyer and where do I put the folder? What do you use to find the SD card?

[Q] transferring Apps to the SD

i have a question, when you transfer an app to the sd via the manage application settings. where do the files go i cant find it anywhere? its not on the sd card i cant find it on the sd portion of the nand.
if you dont find the answer try using a combo of drop box and es file explorer (both found on market). That's what I use to transfer any app or file form device to card

Best way to Manage MTP Storage? Need Advice

Those who are better advanced using MTP please advice...
Issue I am coming from a VZW Thunderbolt my old SD card is in the S3. It still seems to pickup ringtones, videos, pictures from the ext. sdcard. As we know we cannot see the ext card or save to the external card. So I am a bit lost how to manage myself since the S3 pulls in some files from the ext sdcard but I cannot save or see that card using the S3.... Do I still add certain files to the MTP space and drop using the ext. sdcard or try to figure out what the MTP can see and manage both storage areas?
How do you handle data that is on the ext. sdcard with the built-in storage MTP?
If I go all MTP...is there a way to back that up to say the ext. sdcard via from the S3?
When I do a Clockworks backup I assume that goes to the MTP space?
Thx fam any input is helpful...
I don't like using MTP because it always seems unreliable when copying multiple files. I prefer to install SwiFTP on the phone and run that as an FTP site while connecting to it from Filezilla on my computer. Then you can transfer files wirelessly via FTP. I find it to be more reliable when copying lots of files.

Trouble transfering files onto sd card

I have several videos i want to transfer from sd card back to my computer.
But everytime i try it just cuts of the transfer and doesnt move any files.
With my old phone it was read as removable device and with teracopy i could move all that i wantd.
But with S3 it mounts my device as "GT-I9300 Portable Media Player" not as SD card.
I would use a sd card adaptor but my sd card is encrypted so will only work with phone.
Is there a way around this and mount the phone as a removable device or are there programs to manage the file transfer from phone to pc?

WiFi file transfer Pro is my suggestion. It doesn't require a cable - you just connect to the same wifi network as your comp. and then type an adress in the url bar and then download/upload as you please to both internal and external sd.
Thanks for your reply.
Wifi file transfer pro is a paid app, if there a way to do this using the transfer cable as i usually move several gigs over from my phone to computer and back and prefer to use a reliable connection.
Also i am unable to use teracopy to transfer my files like before i am limited to just move and when try moving several files it makes the next set copy across instead of moving.
Use Airdroid
It's free & it's actually the dogs nuts. It's on every pc, laptop & phone I own.
