First in my opinion you stay away from the Multi Flasher, it's more trouble than it's worth, once you get your fastboot going again it's easier, quicker and the correct way to flash your streak.
If you don't have a usb connection try something like Remote Web Desktop to get files onto your Streak or pull the sd card out and put it in a reader and connect it to your computer... I mean how simple is that

yes i can put anything on my sd card...but i have no connection between dell fastboot and pc multi-flasher or command prompt.now ai have 360 rom...any idea guys? what i can put on sd card for cwm to solve that?

oK, IF you can get back to stock ROM then you only have one of 3 problems:
1) you have a driver issue, you need to look in device manager for an unknown usb device and install the right drivers, IF there is nothing there then you only have one of 2 other problems...
a) there is something wrong with your cable
b) there is a hardware failure with your Streak, it's that simple
Flashing an update.pkg to your Streak returns it to out of the box state, like it was just bought... if you flash that a couple of times and you aren't seeing your Streak in your device manager, and it's not one of the above, THEN you may need to try to connect to a different PC and make sure the problem isn't your computer

Do you thing I can flash 1'6 over 2'2'2 just to recover my streak back to state? 360 rom will accept any other rom to be flash? I will try tomorow othet cable. Thank you for your answers

There is no reason under the sun that I can even think about to go back to 1.6. If you flash 2.2.2 360 package and it doesn't solve your problems, then it's hardware related... bad USB port, bad PDMI on your Streak, driver install, something, and if your update.pkg were corrupt it would not install

Streak is accepting only 360 update.pgk.....351.345.353,354 =error7 . should I try other pgk?

Sigh.... that's because you must have the recovery image for the 360 package on your Streak, and you have no choice but to install that package because you are unable to fastboot for whatever reason.... this is logical I would think

Before to flash 360 pkg I flash thru command promt recovery image for this rom.....now only option by recovery is to flash pkg or back by pressing volume up.....anyway I will try tomorow other usb cable and update this post

I tried this method to flash recoveries or roms without pc connection.
you will need a superuser.zip or gingerbreak
Download the recovery of choice either stock or CWM (I used multi but had issues with nandroid)
Download flash_image (search the forum or google, i have it but never tried attaching here yet)
If you need any of the files, I will try to see how I can upload and post a link
1. Root your 360
2. Install fileexpert from market, goto options check root explorer
3. using fileexpert navigate to the location on sdcard where it is, copy, navigate to /system/bin, options-mount as read write, paste flash_image
3. Install terminal emulator from market
4. Open terminal, type su then press enter
5. Type flash_image recovery \sdcard\recoveryname.img press enter
6. Shutdown and boot to recovery
7. Flash rom

Most probably you have a broken D+ od D- connector either in the cable or less probably in your Streak. I'd check the cable first, using a continuity checker this is a thing of a second or so... youll find pin assignment at wikipedia, just look for 'PDMI'

Un-root Hero **without working USB**

Hey, after rooting my phone and installing a few different custom roms, my USB connection has stopped working. whenever I connect the phone to a PC via USB, the device is unrecognised, and mass-storage doesn't work. It's definitely a hardware error, since trying a variety of different roms on a variety of computers, hasn't solved the problem, and even the recovery image doesn't allow mounting the SD card.
Research has suggested that it's affected other people in the past, with the only fix being to replace the motherboard. Hence, I'm looking for advice on un-rooting, rather than advice on fixing (but thank's for your good intentions!).
So I need to un-root my phone (and set it back to factory defaults), so that I can return it to T-mobile and have them fix it under warranty. Of course, because USB isn't working, I can't un-root the "traditional" way, by just installing the RUU update.
So I'm trying to figure out how to set the phone back to its original software, and I thought I'd ask for some advice before I make a mess of things...
As far as I know, there are 2 things that need to be done:
Flash the stock rom back on
- This bit is pretty straightforward; I just use the stock update.zip files found on the Modaco Forums (can't share a link here due to new account), and use the recovery image to update. The lack of a USB connection isn't a major issue for this bit, as I can transfer the zip files using the WebSharing Lite app (which allows me to upload to the phone over wi-fi)
Remove the Amon_Ra recovery image
- This is where I'm having issues. How do I go about clearing the recovery image, without a working USB connection? I'm not really sure how I put the recovery image on in the first place!
If someone could give me advice on how to remove the recovery image (or reset it to the stock one... I'm not sure if there was one initially), I'd really appreciate it. Also, please let me know if I'm missing out anything important.
Assuming everything works, later I'll write out a proper guide for anyone else who's ever in the same position.
Thanks in advance
Maybe this thread could help you?.... Read the last post on the 1st page, something about re-enabling USB.
Worth a shot?
EDIT,..... The link would help wouldn't it,.... Nandroid restore left other stuff around? (No ADB, No SD) [SOLVED]
thanks for your suggestion, but it didn't seem to work. apparently the issue has cropped up for other users, and the only long-term fix is to replace the motherboard under warranty, which is why I'm asking about un-rooting.

You sure?... Have you started your phone in fastboot (hold vol- and power)? Try that to make sure if you haven't already. Once it comes up with the white screen and skateboarding androoids it'l say to press back or vol- (not sure which one so read it) to put into fastboot.
But if you have done that already,... Unfortunately I dont know how you can run an RUU .exe without USB.
yep, tried the whole fastboot thing, didn't work. I can connect to fastboot, but using the command "fastboot oem boot" , everything is normal - usb/sdcard are not disabled
(i didn't copy the exact output, and I don't have sdk on this laptop.. but yeh, that person's advice didn't match my situation).
hopefully someone else will have some ideas/comments?

What?.... It DOES connect in fastboot?... Says fastbootUSB (or something similar) on the screen?
I had same kind of problems with my usb. Try cleaning the "usb-hole"
lol, tried cleaning it but no luck.
from the research I've done, I've sorted out how to put the main ROM in place.
now I just need to find a copy of the recovery image of a T-mobile G2 Touch, and flash it using flashrec
can anyone help with that?
1. recovery - put regular hero recovery od sdcard and try to flash it using flashrec
2. root apk - delete it using root explorer

[Q] Samsung GT-I5500L issues

Hi all 1st post here and it's already a question so I apologize, , I am pretty new this stuff and recently started messing with my firmware and having a play around. Now the issue I have is I cannot connect the phone to pc by usb at all. I have tried all the usual methods of switching data cables, hard reset, enabled/disabled debugging. The only thing that it does is charge the phone.
On a seperate note, I think my current version of android is corrupt as when i hold down the power button, the only option I get is power off, various other things are not quite right either and would prefer stock to this. The device is rooted using universal androot. If anyone could help me return to stock or change my firmware would be greatly appreciated. Please bare in mind that I am unable to use usb, so kies and odin are just not an option. Many thanks
the information i have is.

what rom did you put onto it?
Try this one : http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/(release)-motafoca-2-0-9/
Many thanks for the reply, I was a little naive and just downloaded a random linked one Am I able to put the madteams on there just from sdcard?
If you mean install it from sdcard using clockworkmod?
Use this one : http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/(re-release)-motafoca-froyo-2-0-9-rom-clockworkmod-edition/
To be honest, I have been playing with something I know too little about and now i'm trying to fix my mess I have installed rom manager, and applied what i believe to be clockwork mod recovery supplied by rom manager, then added the linked file to my sdcard. When it tries to apply it as an update it says aborted as zip file is bad.
If i could use usb or odin to flash my phone things would be so much simpler, but as it stands I can't seem to do anything with just using the sdcard. I don't know if there is a complete idiots guide to this. But thanks to those who have tried to help so far.
my phone too is not working via usb..i mean not detecting when to flash. Its working fine when in usb mode but when put to downloading mode, the pc dont recon the device..if yu find the solution plz rply .if i get it i will surely answer

I don't even get the dialog to connect by kies or mass storage. I plug my phone in and the only thing it does is charge. The computer doesn't even acknowledge there is a device connected, with that in mind i'm certain it is a problem with my phone. Possibly firmware related, or faulty usb phone port I would guess.
Which is why I really hope someone can come along and help with my previous problem of fixing things with sdcard only.

to flash:
1. download kies
2. download odin
3. download your files for the rom
4. put them all into odin
5. turn phone into download mode and connect to pc
6. wait for it to show up on odin
IF, your phone doesnt show up, try uninstalling kies, re-installing it, restarting your computer and try again
I can't use odin, kies, or mass storage. My phone simply won't accept that it is attached by usb, I tried the original samsung data cable, as well as another I purchased new the mount dialog won't open when I attach a usb with the usual option of kies/mass storage so I know it isn't my pc. Everything I have done has been by removing the sdcard and using a card reader to put files on, then back to my phone.
I tried all the linked files so far, tried renaming them to update.zip on my sdcard, when I boot back to recovery and try to update from sdcard it says bad file, or failed. Also tried extracting the files and updating again no good. If there is no other options to force new firmware to install from sdcard I guess it is a new phone time which I wasn't keen on.
Should be a rom.problem..flash other rom..if odin shows yellow light below com port in odin it means you are ready to go..flash another rom and see if it helps..but if yellow light doesnt display theb its data cable prob or usb port prob..

It may not have installed correctly which is how I managed to ruin my phone, but according to rom manager it did install I never got the chance to check tho as my phone is now dead and hoping to get it fixed under warranty.
you probably installed a version for another phone. If you can, boot your phone into download mode and install clockworkmod found here: http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/(development)-ltsecret-projectgt/
Then, hopefully your phone should be ok, but just to be sure, install the latest cyanogenmod (using clockworkmod).
Hope this helps

How to mount internal SD with a Dead screen!?

My SGS 2 screen is done for. The phone still boots up and responds normally otherwise.
I am running a Gingerbread 2.36 Siyah Kernel on it.
How do I get my data of the phone by mounting the Sd card?
Maybe someone who has this kernel can tell me what to blindly press after holding Vol Up plus power to get to the mount internal SD menu.
Thanks!

Lol, its not that easy as said by u, 'Will Try closing my eyes and walk in the midst of a Heavy Traffic and see what happens'.
Either replace ur screen (either by paying or warranty claim) if not take it to a nearest service center and see what best they can do for u
If you want the stuff from the card, remove it and use a card reader. If you want the stuff from the internal storage, this gets tricky....
Get your phone to a service center and specifically tell that they need to just replace the faulty screen. So no JB updates, motherboard replacement or wiping the device clean.
Sent from my digital submersible hovercraft.
Really guys? Take it to a service centre? I already knew that.
I don't have the money to take it into a service centre. Phone is out of warranty.
Replacing screen costs money too. About $300 in Australia, may as well buy a new phone.
Actually if I boot into recovery the phone is already rooted etc it is that easy.
All i need to knwo is volume up down power, up, power etc.
Or there was some android app windows sdk where you simply mnt/sdcard etc while connected to USB.
What recovery is on there? If it's cwm non touch let me know and I'll give you the sequence of keys

That sounds like a better idea. Mashing around blindly in recovery seems pretty risky to me, especially if you're not sure what version you have. Unfortunately I don't know the first thing about ABD either, sorry. Good luck.
I just plugged in the phone to samsung kies, and it detects it just fine, but it says to set the phone to USB samsung kies mode and it doesnt support this mode. ATM I am in USB debug mode.
Surely there is a progam that acceses the phone via debug mode?
OR even via Download mode?
I am giving this Android SDK a go, holy crap it is so complex. I installed some packages, double clicked on ABD under sdk>platform tools, and a command prompt window comes up, a bunch of text flies by in 1 second and it automatically closes..

Gotta say this community is just abysmal at handing out help.
To the dude above asking what android version. Read the OP before spending time asking a useless question. I said 2.36. And windows or mac...? Do you really think I would not find be willing to use either if there was a way to recover my data.
If anyone is interested here is how I solved my problem, this simplest method could not simply be mentioned here?
I turned my phone on. Let it boot. Then I plugged in the USB cable from the computer. The phone should register the connection either via vibrate or noise, and in "my computer" the drives show up but are inaccessible by windows explorer, or kies because USB debugging is On.
go to google play store via your browser, preferably chrome. search for a a program called My phone explorer. Select install. It should install it to your phone. Look in the description and install the PC side of the software on your PC.
Open "my phone explorer" on your pc and voilla should be able to sync
I only wish someone could tell me this instead of having to fluke it on my own

I rooted my lg on my computer, but I have not connected it since. Everytime I try, it says it does not recognize , that one of the USB devices has malfunctioned. I have installed the lg USB driver 3 different times and still can't get it, I have tried all 5 USB ports I have, same thing. Any ideas

Have you uninstalled the drivers?
If not, with the phone plugged in, go to device manager, find the device, uninstall it, unplug and then replug in your phone.
Yes I did, I'm very computer literate. Turns out a cable can't tell you its bad, the original cable seem to be the problem. Probably why sometimes I get slow charge when plugged into the wall. All may be null and void when I attempt n4 conversion lol , wish me luck!

Good luck. I recommend having LGNPST prepped to revert to stock, with the DLLs and the BIN/TOT version of the LG ROM. AFAIK, that's the only way to get back, because of how extensive the N4 conversion is. Reverting with a ZIP ROM in CWM is unlikely to work.
Yah , I think I'm going to give up on trying, between the cable thing, now I can only talk to my phone through adb, fast boot won't seem to work. Plus I can't find a lgnpst guide anywhere for our phone. No idea where to get the DLL I'm supposed to flash with, nor where to get the files to flash back. The Windows 8 guide works (even if you're in Windows 7):

That's the #lg-optimus-g channel on Freenode.
Yes, the DLL refers to "LS970," but it works fine with the E970.
To obtain the files listed in the first four steps, I just Googled them and found Dropbox links.
The TOT/BIN file in question would be this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1984545
It will take a while to download; the server appears to average 100 KB/s.
As you can seee, it's kind of a pain to set up LGNPST's environment correctly. I recommend taking all of those files and backing them up to a secure location, so that you never need to hunt them down and re-download them again.
The guide also doesn't mention that your phone needs to be in Download Mode to interact with LGNPST. This is achieved by turning the phone off, plugging it into your computer with a USB cable, then holding down the power button and both volume buttons at the same time until the Download Mode indicator shows up on your screen. It may take several attempts; the process appears to have a low tolerance for poor button press timing.
LGNPST will interact with your phone even if Windows no longer recognizes it. I think that's why it remains popular as a last-resort recovery method.

Everything you need is on Team Nocturnals website where the conversion thread is minus lgnpst and the nexus 4 drivers.
After you flash the n4 conversion, boot in recovery and then install the nexus 4 universal naked drivers (Google it, should be the first xda link.) Then you can use adb to fast boot -w and flash a recovery. Just read a little more and you'll realize its not hard at all. Just make sure everything is prepared. Good luck if you try it. It was very interesting to me. I've gone back to stock and came back to the conversion after the sdcard fix

Right now the problem I am having is getting windows to recognize my phone in boot loader/ fast boot which will prevent me from being able to fastboot -w , I have a thread on here should be titled fast boot and recovery. Posted it last night. I'm trying to make sure everything is ready, but my phone and my PC are just trying to fight me every which way lol. I'm going to try another computer and see if things run smoother, I have rooted and unlocked a bunch of phones for friends and myself on my laptop. Wondering if I'm just having a lot of driver conflicts lol
Its not about what you know , but who you know.
You might need to flash your recovery, and possibly lock your bootloader again. What I have seen over my several rooted phones is that sometimes when unlocking them, the binary code doesn't match up and will not allow the battery, USB port, and even screen to work with the software. Won't matter if you unistall or reinstall the drivers. Hope this help!

Which software are you describing? I have not lgnpst 'd anything yet, it does notice my phone both with phone on and connection settings to lg software, and in download mode. The problem I am currently stuck on is getting my PC to notice my phone in boot loader so I can't use any fb commands. I can talk to my phone when its on through adb commands no problem.
I dont want to get in trouble, the original problem was I could not get windows to notice my phone at all. I fixed that by trying a different USB cord, apparently my original is failing. If you would like to help me more so I don't get yelled at, please post in my other thread titled fast boot and recovery in the qa thread. I really want to attempt this, its my bday. how do i root? can't use Odin and no "install zip from sd card" in recovery

Hye Guys
as per title, i read most of the solution ( i think so) in this forum, but none can solve mine,
because..
1) my original usb cable cant be detected by my pc so I cant use ODIN
2) the android recovery does not have "install zip from sd card" , so i cant flash cwm and root
so, my tab isnt rooted and I cant flash to a new rom due to above reason
This is all happened when I tried to factory reset from stock ICS..
please help me with a good solution

try to uninstall yours device drivers from pc. Do a fresh clean and reinstall em. After that if u can t link your device maybe you have a broken cable.
Anyway u aren y be able to see install to zip option because your device isn t rooted yet and u can do that using odin or twp as i know.
^ what he said...your main problem is getting your tab connected to PC. Either reinstall your drivers or use another cable. Once that's done, Odin flash cwm recovery and then only you can root and install custom ROMs.

1. Do you have correct driver installed ?
2. Did you try using it as OTG with your usb drive whether it connect as storage ?
3. If you can boot to recovery mode , you'll surely have the option "install zip from sd card" .Try look again into it.What's your recovery version ?
4. You can set your PC folder as Sharing samba and put your 10.1 root.zip into your sdcard.Install es explorer and copy the file as LAN wifi router.
5. Manual back to recovery and root it again.
6. Install latest recovery ver via odin again
Hope it helps

You don't have the install zip from sdcard because you're recovery is stock...and the old ( update from sdcard option ) on stock recovery was removed in 4.0.4 ICS...So that's out.
Do as above stated and try a fresh install of drivers/or older set and a different version of Odin. I have an older version linked in my FAQ thread...but only use the recovery zip and root zip in the link if you have a p4wifi only tablet. The Odin version will work though for any tablet model.
I'll look around..I might have an alternative way...but I'm not sure. I'll post back later today, as I'm at work..:good:

Give this thread a read and try the app...its called Framaroot...it has a new exploit that might now work with you're device. If it doesn't..no harm done. But read the thread op...as it will give you info on some things to try if the app fails the first time.
Let me know if it works.. So I can update my FAQs thread and you or myself can post to the apps thread to help update the supported devices for the op over there...Thanks

guys, thank you for trying to help,
but sorry, none above can solve the problem,
for cable and driver issue ;
i already tried to uninstall and install various type of galaxy tab p7500 driver that available in the internet, and tried to connect it to my pc, my friend's and my wife's pc but still a NO, tried to change the setting>storage>choose usb pc connection, disable USB debugging, but still nothing
and i tried to use the cable to connect my wife's galaxy tab to pc, and it works just fine
so confirm : driver - OK , cable - OK
for ODIN ; NO GO
as related to above issue, i tried to download mode and nothing happen, on the screen only appear "waiting for usb" and no yellow signal from ODIN in pc, tried with Odin3-v1.85
for recovery ; NO GO
in the screen tab, it appear version Android System Recovery <3e>
it only have menu:
reboot system now
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
with the help from airdroid app(via wifi), i put cwm file recovery.img and update.zip/root.zip/superuser.zip for root, but none of them is detected in the recovery
so neither rooting nor flashing can be done here
for Framaroot app NO GO
i installed Framaroot-1.6.1 into the tab, it rejected right away, not supported
mobile odin pro 3.76 ; NO GO
need to root first
terminal emulator; PENDING
need to root, but i found somewhere in the internet that we can root via TE just that need the specific code, I have no idea on this, tried to search terminal emulator help for galaxy tab 10.1 but none found, only found for other devices.
and another problem i cant type anything in the TE
so Terminal Emulator ; can't type , not sure the script/command
USB OTG;
i have no clue on this, do i need a specific driver?
so, is it Terminal emulator or usb otg might able to solve the problem?
really appreciate ur assistance, guys
@khaix
Seen this...maybe worth a try...
Quick STEP:
1. Connect TAB to PC ( with its corresponding USB cord )
2. While its connected ( MTP connected appears on your TAB )
3. GO to Control Panel on your PC ( Find the Devices and printer )
4. while in the " Devices and Printer ( SAMSUNG ANDROID will appear w/ a red marker saying " it has a problem connecting " )
5. Right Click the " SAMSUNG ANDROID " and press the fix problem .
6. then it will automatically fix the problem why your TAB wont connect to your PC ( Just fallow the troubleshoot steps )
7. Then its a rap.
If that is not an option...
Try uninstalling drivers and kies..reboot you're computer( make sure drivers were uninstalled ). Now reinstall drivers, but not kies. Or just plug in you're device and let it download the drivers..but no kies..
Try these two options to get connected and let me know...if they don't work I'll keep look...

As said before, you can't flash anything in your current t recovery because it is the stock recovery. About TE, for some reason you can't type anything using the stock Samsung keyboard. Download Google Keyboard from play store then you can type in it. But you won't be able to write the recovery.img into your tab because that would require root.
Try to go to Settings -> Storage -> press the menu button or the 3 dot button (whatever it is you want to call it) at the top right -> make sure the first checkbox is ticked.

Sounds to me like you need to clean the charger port...it might have something crossed over...I've seen this in the epic 4g touch forum.. You're device is reading that something is in contact with the charging port...since its not reading the cable that came with the device..it puts the red x over the battery bar. You can't charge these tabs with just any cord..unless you're running a custom ROM..
The sim card I'm not sure...check that port and we'll proceed from there..

I just did that, clean the port carefully and tried again to connect to pc
The result still the same, not detected but only chargin like before, with red x on the battery bar
This is so frustating, am i reaching a dead end?
Sorry if you mentioned it before, but is your tab able to connect to PC normally? I mean without download mode and Odin and all those stuff.
And all this happens after you factory reset your tab using stock recovery right?

2)when i switch it off, appear charging bar even it is not charging
3)cant connect to pc
4)sim card not detected
5)auto update always fail

The x happens when connected to USB or charging? If USB then its normal since by default it isn't charging.

If its showing the charge icon when not plugged in...don't you think its a port issue...maybe something stuck or bent inside..I've seen this in the e4gt forum. I'm going to look at what their fix was..

Look at this thread.. http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...galaxy-tab-10-1-not-charging-brand-new-3.html
I'm thinking it has to be the port or the 30 pin connector...I know. You said it works with other devices...but trust me when I say...technology is a fickle mistress...
Did he say that? Whoops, I think I missed it.
I don't know much about these ports so I'll let you take over this thread.

best regards

I'm experiencing similar problem. I followed the instructions in Odin after bricking my phone via wrong carrier ROM update. I followed these stpes
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261573
I was successful. I also rooted the phone. Yet, I don't see the "install zip from ...." and all recovery apps fail once the phone gets into recovery mode.
Any ideas?
