Install Question
How long should I wait after flashing for unit to boot? I flashed, let it sit for about 15 mins and had to force power off. Wiped all partitions, re-installed, same thing. 2nd time I let it sit for about 25 mins. Had to force power off. I have the following:
GT-I9100
Android version 2.3.4
Baseband version I9100XXKI4
Kernel 2.6.35.7-I9100UHKG7-CL417954
Build number GINGERBREAD.UHKG7
Is it compatible? Do I have to flash a different boot or kernel?
Thanks

That's weird as i tested it before i posted it. What kernel ar u running at the moment. I assume u are rooted.
Normally after flashing you only have to wait a couple of minutes.
I will test it again when i get home at work now but i will test it.
I have not had this problem of not booting.

Thanks for looking into it. I'm a fan of near stock roms and I'm really looking forward to trying this one out.

Right i tested it and i ran it twice and had no problems. I am running siyah kernel though and this Rom has init.d script at boot to lower the cpu voltage slightly. The kernel you are running looks to be stock. Can you also confirm you are rooted and unlocked bootloader.
Thanks for testing i appreciate it.
If changing kernel does not work let me know and i will upload version without init.d script.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium

does this work with the Speedmod k2-13 kernal ? im running Optimized KI8 RomKitchen rom at the moment but fancy trying this

Would love to give it a try but I Have a similar problem, constant bootloop. So I tried using siyah kernel 2.1, no bootloop but now stuck on bootloader screen. Can you remove the init.d script ?
And yes, the phone IS rooted and unlocked

Yes i can. I will try and sort something out 2morrow. Though i can't understand y u are stuck on bootloader screen. Mind u 2.1 final has issues but even then i flashed without issue.
I will do a full wipe again and see if i can reproduce this.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium

hello, for the peeps that have had trouble have you wiped data and dalvik before installing this rom, as im struggling to see why its not working i have wiped my phone twice and this flashes ok.
please bear with me i have been working 15 hour days i will get the new version without init.d scripts and will add siyah kernel aswell.

Ok, wiped system, data, cache & dalvik. Did data/factory reset. Installed rom and did a dalvik cache wipe for good measure. Rebooted
Booted with no problem in less than minute.
Thank you, will see how it goes

Which on did u use. Did you use version three as i have tried version 3 and got the bootloop. Im trying to find out why. The only things i changed were the lights.so file and logprovider apk.
Im doing logcat but need some help understanding it.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium

Used the one under downloads - came down as "USB_androids_R8ZERsROM_XXKI4"
Only problem I've had so far is with Titanium Backup, trying to restore KickBack - just locks up. All other apps go back fine (it's not regarded as a system app, is it ? May explain it, although had no problems with other ROMs.
Don't know if it;s my fault but Swype keeps FC-ing, tried installing different version but no go.

edit: nevermind.

[MOD] Hybrid R4 lockscreen & multi-reboot menu

Hi,
So I love eugene's new Hybrid R4 rom, but I also dig the multi-lockscreen mod by untermensch, and his new multi-reboot option for the power menu too.
So, this is a quick mod that restores the multi-lockscreen option, adds the new multi-reboot menu, and fixes my accurate battery mod to use the smooth charging animation (yet again, thanks to untermensch!) that eugene included with hybrid r4.

Anyway, zip should flash fine from clockwork recovery, and like always...
I take absolutely no responsibility for ANYTHING this does to your phone, period, end of story, you made a rational choice to mod your phone in the first place, so learn to fix it if something messes it up.
that said, once you've flashed the zip, please, Please, PLEASE wipe your cache, dalvik-cache and fix permissions before rebooting. If you run with voodoo enabled, then you need to wipe the dalvik-cache manually, BEFORE you flash this mod:
adb shell
su
cd data
rm -r dalvik-cache
UPDATE: 7:39pm, ok, fixed the power-off problem, uploaded new zip, please re-download.
Cheers everyone, =)
Can you check your pm's?

Got infinite fc's, just flashed and cleared dalvik cache, I don't know how to fix permissions, and I did not disable oclf. Nandroided back but I really want to try again, thanks in advance for the help. I will be waiting until I know what I'm doing though.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Fix Permissions is an option in the ROM Manager app from the market.
Ok,
Seems like I fixed the "Power-off" problem, at least, its working fine for me, so I uploaded a new zip, please re-download.
And also, everytime you wipe your dalvik-cache, please let your phone sit for 3-5 minutes after you see the lockscreen, before really doing anything, and remember that reboots after clearing the dalvik-cache will always take a lot longer than normal.
And for anyone having FC issues, is likely related to either not wiping the dalvik-cache, or fixing permissions, so try that a second time please. If you still have FC errors after, then its possible to be from lost account information (on occasion, and without any real discernible pattern/reason, I randomly lose all my sync accounts sometimes after applying a mod) and if that happens to you, try an advanced nandroid restore of ONLY your data partition.
Cheers everyone, =)
You should post this in the develop section. Nice idea

Hi,
This information is already in the dev forum here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811532
And since I didn't figure this out, untermensch did, I don't want it to seem like I'm taking credit for his work.
After-all, all I've done is apply his mods to the files from eugene's hybrid-r4, and package a zip file for people to use, I didn't do any of the actual coding.
Anyway, thanks for the comment, cheers, =)

Hi,
Sorry, but its highly unlikely to work with his froyo rom, I'd almost guarantee that it won't work, but frankly, I've not flashed his froyo rom (and don't intend to until we have everything, including gps working) so I can't tell you 100%.
Now, would I personally flash this on his froyo rom? No, of course not, too many framework changes were made between eclair and froyo for me to ever think these files will work straight away on froyo, maybe the same source code (or at least parts) can be used to modify froyo versions of these files to provide the same functionality, but I'm not really a programmer, sorry.
Sorry about that, cheers though, =)
Workes like a charm.. Thanks s0nique!
Thanks Sonique, great work... I always wanted that recovery boot menu
Has anyone tried this on Bionix 1.9 stock?
New file works perfect on eugenes hybrid r4
Vibrant - Hybrid R4 - JAC's Xmod kernel v1 - ext2 lag fix
can i flash this on my stock rom? or do i need a custom rom?
Work on stock?
no the answer is it will not. in fact i may have bricked my phone. i was running stock, with root. also with mobileap and the official j16 update. all worked fine. i flashed this zip and rebooted. everything FC'd. restored from nand and all i get now is the vibrant screen. i did a plain factory rest and still nothing. lovely looking vibrant screen now.
Now all we need is a working twiz dialer and contacts to push on hybrid r4

YOU MUST ALREADY HAVE DooMLorDs CUSTOM RECOVERY AND KERNEL IN ORDER TO FLASH THIS ROM!!! IF YOU DON'T HAVE THOSE TWO THINGS THEN DON'T FLASH THIS ROM!!!
If you want to use Stock Kernel Follow the directions below after flashing this ROM and booting it up first!!!
1) Put Galaxy Task ROM on your Tablet
2) Backup all the apps you want to keep with Titanium Backup
3) Make a Nandroid Backup in CWM
4) Wipe Cache Partition, Wipe Dalvik Cache (In Advanced), & Wipe Data/Factory Reset
5) Choose install zip
6) Done!!! REBOOT!!!
To use Stock Kernel follow these directions only after following all the steps above!!!
1) After the above steps and reboot move on to step #2
2) Download both of these files and put the wifi modules zip onto your tab ( http://goo-inside.me/devs/task650/HTC_Jetstream/stockjetstreamboot.img) (http://goo-inside.me/devs/task650/HTC_Jetstream/Stock_wifi_modules.zip )
3) flash the stockjetstreamboot.img with fastboot
4) Then in CWM recovery flash the wifi modules.
5) Done!!! You should have working wifi with stock kernel
(You MUST be on V2 to flash V3!!! Just wipe cache & dalvik cache to update to the latest release)

not much yet. couldnt get ICS working on this tab. Had to send it in twice to get it fixed after trying. but this seems a lot better then stock.
@ EVERYONE
sorry about how long this has taken me to get going. with my daughter being diagnosed with cancer and everything that comes along with that I sort of lost my mind for a while. but i have a little bit more patience for development now and I'm going to try my best to make this rom as great as my Galaxy Tab 10.1 rom.
first of all - thank you!!
secondly, what android version is this based upon? 3.1? 3.2? not that it matters too much.
and most importantly - do we really must have doomlord's kernel? quite a few devices here are suffering from stability issues with that kernel, mine included.
Thank you for your contribution. Hope your daughter has a quick recovery.

well,
downloaded and installed.
looks awesome! and in the first few minutes it feels nice and smooth.
first thing that cought my eye - the pen icon still has the 3.x look..grey. the other premenant icons are now blue, i know it sounds silly but that bothers me a bit.
i hope that the kernel will remain stable with this version.

Can this be flashed and maintain the factory kernel by removing any kernel related files like the wifi module if that DoomLord kernel does not work well on our device?
Hello,
I just wanted to know if this ROM can be flashed onto Rogers Jetstream from Canada? Hopefully it can because stock sucks!!
Thanks!

Not sure what you guys are finding unstable with it. But that's your choice to use whatever kernel you wish. But I'm not supporting other kernels or problems that stem from them at this time. So any issues that arise when using stock kernel shouldn't be brought up in this thread. The install instructions say it all.
I've been running his kernel with no issues at all for a while.
I must agree with Task. I've been using DooM's kernel since I got my tablet and I've never had any issues it runs so much better then stock kernel.

Glad it's working out for you guys. For many of us it creates stability issues and daily reboots. So I'm sure some of us would like to be able to use a custom ROM
and the factory kernel over no decent ROM at all.

[MOD] Xperia xUX

Xperia xUX.
FINAL version.
for Gingerbread 4.0.2.A.0.62
Well, hello again, fellows!
Just joking. I was improving and changing theme in a lot of ways.
In the end it looks like a nice(In my opinion at least ) hybrid of Xperia NXT interface, ICS interface and GB interface.
With some things exclusively from me.
Q: On what Android I should install this?
A: On Gingerbread 2.3.4 build 4.0.2.A.0.62. Installing on ICS will result in a bootloop.
Installing on 2.3.4 v42 is NOT recommended, as it may result in a number of random bugs, like disappearing of statusbar.
Q: How do I shot web...emm...how do I install Xperia xUX?
A: Just flash it from Recovery. It should work.
If not, do the following:
1) Wipe /system folder.
2) Do a clean install of stock Gingerbread or Repack 4PDA(I recommend installing this, because I based my mod on this ROM and because it's fastest ROM I've ever seen).
3) Start the phone normally.
4) Make sure everything's working.
5) Reboot to Recovery.
6) Install my mod.
7) It should work now.
UPD: Just tried again.
It works 100%! Installation on Stock GB works, installation on Repack 4PDA does the trick too.
So follow this instruction!
Q: What does this mod include?
A: Well...137'$ see!
-Updated graphics - your phone will look COMPLETELY different!
-Some usability improvements, like Swipe-to-Remove-Notification made by Hansip87, switch track with volume rocker made by 7OH(but ported to this mod by me, this wasn't a piece of cake, believe me)
-Awesome Xperia bootanimation.
-New charging animation
-% on battery
-Switchers in notification pulldown
-Kill apps by long-pressing BACK button(which can be turn off)
-ICS style settings.
-And some others...

What kernel you (suggested) to use?

Ah man! I knew I forgot something!
It's for GB version 4.0.2.A.0.62.
Kernel? Any, as soon it's compatible with 4.0.2.A.0.62. I use Aire kernel.
KIK Messenger? If it's stable on stock 4.0.2.A.0.62, it should be stable on 4.0.2.A.0.62 with my mod. The changes in framework I've done wasn't so groundshaking to case instability in apps

You're installing it on Gingerbread 62?
I can confirm the bootloop too unfortunately, tried on .62 and .69.
The folders structure and updater-script are arranged in an odd way. Why not have only 2 folders in the zip? META-INF and system, inside system put everything and in the updater-script just put a line to mount system and flash everything at the same time, not folder by folder.
Hmm...

I once used this mod with this rom REPACK4PDA v7 and it worked.
Yeeeeeeah! Finally! It's alive! ALIVE! >
Seriously, the problem of bootloop was solved extremely easy.
It's not like the mod is corrupted, no.
It's because I forgot to sign Recovery ZIP -_-
I've tried like seven times to install this mod on stock GB, on REPACK4PDA, and it works flawless.
So please download!
Great job
after some few adjustments, this mod works on my arc.

Posted instruction which should solve bootloop problems.
I am so sorry for not doing this earlier...I swear I've got it working without bootloop on clean GB, but today I tried to re-install it...boot-f***ing loop! @*&%!
Looks like it's because I've made really significant changes in framework and android.policy.jar.
But if you follow my instruction, everything should work fine!
Thanks @Dr.Alexander_Breen

Perfect when mixed with REPACK4PDA v7. Impressive battery life and great performance! A rom and mod worth using daily! Keep it up!! Waiting for further updates!!

I'll look into it and release a update, don't have much time though,
Strange installing gapps makes my phone act crazy, I wouldn't recommend flashing them.

If data and wifi not working then they can use it
Now use your home PC's Internet connection for your Android phone.
Enjoy

Just so everyone knows don't flash gapps, it creates many fc and problems.
I suggest just adding in the play market yourself if you want to continue using this.
Confirmed Data doesn't work, sorry guys :/.
I'll make a update with camera and data working in the next few days.

Hey can I use scritch's kernel?
Sent from my Xperia X10 using xda app-developers app
No, the normal scritch kernel doesn't work, it will freeze up the rom.
The kernel I included is svritch kernel with slight modifications to make it work. Or you can use amin kernel.
Sent from my LT30p using xda premium
Yeah i can try it out today or tomorrow im so lucky....
Will report if it also works with amin kernel p7005...
@legible: if you have questions about the bugs, you could ask x10forever, he is a real machine and said he tried to port miui, too...
maybe he has some ideas

I am using MIUI ICS now should i just flash the kernel provided here and install rom from recovery will that do ???
i dont know the procedure to use JB in my phone
Flashed it
yeah
i installed it over aminkernel p7002...
was great till i tried to flash gapps out of miui bootmanager.... now try all again from p7005.
smooth and awsome. tomorrow extended report sir
After many trys I got it instaled. Miui home force closed, couldnt start anything. flashed gapps, and just because one app needed an update i could get into market and dowload anotherlauncher. so far ok. performance is quite ok, project butter is beautiful.
Bugs
-Miui Home Fc (didnt had this on my first install)
-statusbar often white in applications, so one cant see white symbols
-cant login to miuiaccount :/
-too heavy rom, about 150 mb would be cool and moreseravailable ram
-tab thing in settings/apps is blue
lockscreen is laggy, but because of bug 3 cant download another one
-3g doesnt seem to work, i dont need but normally i have to hurry to shut it down, miui says it doesnt detect my sim but call works.
thats all for now, very promising project, will completely restart (from stock) tonight.

Hi legible
Did u try flashing miui with gapps included in the ROM,
Just include Google sync apps not all gapps and try to flash, I think it may fix problem.
I had same problem with meizu MX cm9.
I tried to put gapps in the default ROM and it has worked so may be it is worth trying if u didn't try it...
Cheers

Though doing that it would make the ROM heavier than It already is, 200mb is quite large already.

Awesome!
Downloading now, can't wait to flash and test out rooted lollipop. Thanks for supporting our device! Cheers mate
Tried flashing this rom tonight. The modem flashed fine, but I get an error when installing the Rom. "Error: unable to mount 'system'
I was coming from the crdroid ROM, and wiped cache, DC, system and data as advised.

I ran into the same error, however, the rom flashed fine. I think it might have to do with the device being plugged in at the time of flash.
You should see that after the installation is done, it says the installation was successful.

When I go to reboot after the flash tho, a popup warns that no system is installed. I didn't go any further and just restored my backup just to be safe.

This Rom works awesome... Yes you will get an error after install... Ignore it. I have been running this since it's initial post in another thread for about a week no issues....
Thanks

All errors fixed also includes the missing tethering and networks not loading?
Also you made a joke about missing the clock app is it still missing?
Also is xposed included in this version? I loved that in your other rom.
I love the rom otherwise. Super lightweight and snappy.
Thanks for all the hard work we all really appreciate it

Finally have a thread up!
Running the Debloated rooted/xposed version with G3TWB and all is running swell. No complaints from me.

Sweet I will wait till tomorrow. Can't live without xposed

When you update the rom with xposed and framework, would i be able to dirty flash that over your original stock rooted rom?
Any one taking bets?
How long will it take for someone to inquire about a 855 version? Sorry if my cynical side is showing.....good work on this rom. Us little guys really appreciate some local flavour (note the correct spelling) eh?
Just confirming, I can go from rooted/bumped stock kk to this following OP instructions and just keep moving along? No more retverting to original stock?
Thanks
So just to make things straight. Flashing this Rom and the baseband allows me to not have to update my kitkat to that of the official lollipop ota right?
Thats correct, be sure to be on the latest recovery, no more OTA. If you want to return to KK be sure to have the KK baseband
Edit: Fixed the title of the thread. lol oops
Great. Now I just hope I have no issues with all my casting apps. I guess that's what backups are for.

Well atm I'm on cm12 with the original stock kitkat. I flashed the lollipop modem that someone posted not too long ago. Do I still need to re download and flash the baseband of I want to flash this Rom?
