[APK] Android Market 3.3.11 - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

It appears an update to the Android Market is now being pushed out to handsets, and we've got the .apk file for you right now. Warning: this updated Market does not seem to work very well on Honeycomb tablets, there appears to be a number of glitches.
Note: If the Market starts force closing, just open Settings > Applications > Manage > Market, and clear data.
What's changed? So far, we've found:
New setting: Auto-update apps (presumably, sets all apps to auto-update mode, woohoo!)
New setting: Update over Wi-Fi only
New setting: Auto-add shortcuts (automatically adds homescreen shortcuts for new apps, a la Honeycomb)
Smaller font
New app drawer icon
Microphone (voice command) button in search menu
Star rating chart on app pages
Minor UI tweaks
Procedure to install via Root Explorer Method
1. Download the apk file from the attachment to your sd card.
2. Now using Root explorer, go to /system/app
3. Mount the system to r/w.
4. Now search for Vending.apk & rename it to Vending.apk1
5. Copy the file you just downloded to /system/app and rename to Vending.apk
6. Now press & hold the app and select Permissions
7. Select only the options given below. Now REBOOT & enjoy.....

There is already a recent thread on this topic. And under the right section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1328992

I already use this, and its so much better than the old.

gAppsInstaller - Froyo

*** Archos Devices Only ***
This includes only the Market, Calendar, Talk, GenieWidget and "required gSync" files. Any apps that are in the Froyo Market are NOT included. Honestly, this is better as it makes a smaller appInstaller package and its more compatible.
You can download the following from the Market -- Gmail, VoiceSearch, YouTube and Maps(Navigation)
SUMMARY
v5-Stable -- (recommended!)
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
WARNING: If you've installed this or other gApps installers, you may have to RESET to successfully install gAppInstaller.
Note: You may get an error when you first open the Market, ignore the error. It may also take a few minutes before the Market updates from 2.09 to the current version.
Download - http://code.google.com/p/archos-apps-installer/downloads/list
Copy download to your device via USB (if you didnt download directly using your Archos)
Use 'Files' app to locate gAppsInstaller, then execute/install it
Choose install core apps or choose to install your own packaged 'apps.zip' file located on the internal drive (not sdcard). There maybe a short delay after you tap an install button (its installing and you'll be notified when its done, about 5-10 seconds)
REBOOT!!
Sign into Market (Google Account Login)
Follow the Market FIX instructions below
MARKET FIX:
This will get you most missing apps from the market, except some "protect market apps" like NYTimes.
Setting-->Manage Applications-->All-->Market (Clear Cache then 'Force Stop' -- DO NOT clear data)
Setting-->Manage Applications-->All-->Google Services Framework (Clear data then 'Force Stop')
REBOOT again
Market Fix video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7l-nySibzeA&feature=player_embedded#!
If you do this correctly you will find most missing apps like 'Copilot Live USA' in the Market. However, some apps require certain features (like a GPS or Cell chip) and will not show up in the Market. Basically, if you search for application "MyGPS" and "MyGPS" is coded to REQUIRE a GPS chip, then the Android market will NOT show this app in the Market for our Archos Device because is lacks a GPS chip.
MARKET LANGUAGE FIX (unverified):
Once you install the Market, it will probably be in English only. You may be able to fix this by putting your device into English via Settings menu, then put the device back into whatever other language you require.
RESET DEVICE:
Follow these instructions to reset your Archos Gen8: http://forum.archosfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=42437&start=0
12/23/2010:
v5 released and appears stable. This is the last froyo version since the Market auto-updates and NetworkLocation works.
kenyu73 - Thanks for the update, could you possibly test a couple of apps for me before I wipe and load this up?
TweetDeck
Slingplayer
Moblox
Those have never worked correctly on your build and I use them pretty regularly. Thanks! Looking forward to results.

Both Tweetdeck and Moblox-Lite open without any FC's. I couldn't find Slingplayer in the market.
Awesome. I'll have to wipe and rebuild with this tomorrow then. Thanks!
any reason to re-install from v3?
I used your v3 (thank you very much!) - it worked well. I have Market + select Google apps on my A70.
I'm still missing some apps on Market that I'm unable to find no matter what, even after following "the procedure" - LauncherPro, AWDLauncher, etc. Frankly I can sideload most apps anyhow.
Is there any point/reason in installing v4? (I'm hoping for a "no")?
Kenyu you are the man!

There are some "protected" apps that we'll never see. However, I can find LauncherPro(free) as well as ADW.Launcher(by AnderWeb) just fine.
kenyu73, Thanks for your updates.
My A70 will arrive in tomorrow and look forward to implement your guide soon.
Please keep on fine-tuning it and share with us.
Bit the bullet and loaded up the new app installer. It works perfectly. No more force closes on tweetdeck or when logging into the xda app. Thanks for this.

Thanks for the feedback. I think the v4 is really the final stable version. I've been using it all day today and not one single Market FC and I can find all apps in the Market (except protected apps). I did have to do the Market fix though.
The next issue I'd like to fix is the Voice Search GUI issue. The GUI interface isn't as clean as my cell phone, but I'm not sure if that's even fixable. Even though we install Voice Search directly from the Market, it still just sucks!!
Just a short note:
If you have already rooted your device with z4root a reboot is never reasonable.
To avoid lossing the root (which can of cource be reinstalled using z4root again) you can use the App HotReboot. This app reboots the device but the "root" still exists!
BTW: Thanks for your work!!!!

Downloads Stuck
I followed all instructions. My downloads on the market get stuck at starting download. ANy ideas?
Archos 101
excellent - thankyou kenyu
one question from a newbi
when i follow the link - I see an apk and two zip files
how do i use the two zip files ? appsinstaller and apps
thanks Stephen
Just use the apk file.
The apps.zip is just the apks that you should download from market, and the zipped installer is the source codes. If you just want to install the installer, then only the apk should matter to you.

All the apps in the zip files should be down-loadable from the Market directly. That zip is only there for people who cant download some apps because of their country of origin (like Maps). Some may use it so they don't have to download those apps.
Best bet is to install the core apps via the installer, reboot then d/l that apps you want from the Market.

I'd reboot again. However, it could be your internet connection. My Samsung Fascinate (Galaxy S) doesn't that sometimes.
Did you install over an existing Market install or was this a fresh install? If it was a re-install, as my instructions said, best bet is to do a reset and start over.
i decided to load some apks in the .system folder to see if i could get it to load my own apks to save me less time.. and in the process using this gapps apk vs the one with the GUI glitch worked very well.. like how i can download my own youtube etc so i have the choice of which google apps i want
These are the only apks that can be pushed to the froyo/system/app folder. Archos put the apk reference aliases (prefixed with a 0) into the read-only '/system/app' knowing we'd manually add them to the read/write test folder. Anything else in the app folder is ignored.
If Archos didn't do this, I doubt we'd even have Market access until the devce was fully rooted.

[Q] Market no longer showing protected apps

Hi,
I'm having an issue with android market (3.4.4) no longer showing apps like Launcher Pro, Task Killer etc
Until today it has been working fine (no changes made - to my knowledge).
Rom: Bindroid V1.0 3G P7500
Location: Singapore
Tried so far:
1. Clear Market Data and Cache, reboot
2. Reinstall latest market apk
3. Use Market Enabler to spoof T-Mobile
4. Use Market Enabler to spoof Verizon
5. Replace core build.prop files with vanilla 3.2
Issue still remains...
If I browse through 'Staff Choices for Tablets' I can see and install Go Launcher Ex etc, but if I search Go Launcher Ex I get 'No results found'.
Screen shot of what I'm seeing attached.
Any idea what I need to do to fix??
https://plus.google.com/photos/109959272119067767618/albums/5687091020170742785/5687091018758941042
Today I've tried:
1. Full wipe and reinstall of bindroid
2. Replaced market 3.4.4 with 1.0.28
3. Multiple density settings, 149, 160, 161, 200
All with cache cleans.
Issue remains.... I get no results when searching in the market for apps like launcher pro, circle launcher etc.
Via web market I can see the apps, but my GT-P7500 is greyed out. Depending on the app it will either show, not compatible or unavailable in my location.
I have confirmed on the market help page that the device is still supported and Singapore is on their paid locations approval list.
Via appbrain I can see the apps OK, but when I click install it loads android market and issue remains.
Any ideas on what else I can try?

Go Keyboard working flawlessly

I have been tackling Go Keyboard since it has decent landscape keyboard for tablets.
But I had seen FC's so many times and it asked me to download it again because Go Keyboard isn't deployed (it was indeed.)
I looked up Keyboard threads and managed to stop FCs.
1. Install Go Keyboard.
2. Copy apk file from data/app to system/app
3. copy apk file from data/app to mnt/sdcard
4. reboot and install apk from sdcard if Go Keyboard force closes again.
This method required re-installing Go Keyboard after every reboot.
So here's what I've figured out.
5. Delete apk file from system/app after re-installing Go Keyboard.
6. Reboot and you will see no more FCs.
This is not it.
If you want to install Pad plug-in, which I was so eager to use, you will see Go Keyboard asking you to download it and install it again every time you reboot your NT.
Well... you can just clear notification but I thought it was so annoying after all.
7. Go to Market and install Startup Auditor.
8. Once you launch the app, disable Go Keyboard. In other words, you should check both boxes.
Hope this works for everyone who wants to use Go Keyboard especially with Pad Plug-in. I am not sure if the whole thing works without an issue. But I know using Startup Auditor will remove notification because it worked on my Dad's KF as well.

[Q] frozen apps

Is there a list of apps that can be disabled for this phone?
Don't we need root?
Not an iPhone.....
Just go through the list, its lets you do quite a few of them in app management
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
Can someone give me a list of what they froze, I think I got most of them but stuff like Music Hub, Music Player, Viewdini, VPN Client, Zappos I have no idea about
I have only removed the bloatware from one other phone (HTC incredible) and the process went like this:
1. Open root explore and go to system/app
2. Change from read/only to read/write
3. Select the apps from the system/app that I want to remove
4. Move those apps to a new folder that I named app.disabled in the system file.
Does this same process work the the Note 2?
Wyatt W.
Edit: nevermind, just used TB to freeze apps
Works well, especially as it requires only root and a good file manager [e.g. ES].. I had been dependent on tools like TB before your post. Thanks for the lesson.

How to get LG G2 Hidden Menu Launcher Appworking on Kitkat Roms

I started this thread mostly for anyone that looses knock on after flashing a kernel or for any reason. I know that the G2 hidden menu works by typing on our dial pads 3845#*(your 3 digit model)# for some LG G2 users, and I also have used it, but for some unknown reason to me, it didn't work all of the time when I lost knock on. If you are in that category, then you can try installing the LG G2 Hidden Menu Launcher app from the Playstore. This app also stopped working after the kitkat update, but you can get it working if you follow these steps:
1. Install LG G2 Hidden Menu Launcher app from Google Playstore
2. Use Titanium Backup to convert the this User App to a System App
3. Use Root Explorer or similar to Move this app from the system app folder to the Priv-App folder.
4. Check to make sure that the Properties match other apps in this folder. Mine are set at RW-R-R
5. Reboot
6. Look in your app drawer and you should see the app there and then you can use it for whatever you want including following the steps that are laid out in several threads for updating the touchscreen firmware which will restore your knock on function.
