New market 3.3.11 - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Themes and Apps

Rename original Vending.apk in Vending.bak.
Put new Vending.apk in \system\app.
Enjoy.
P.s. reboot if search do not function.

I read it's not playing nicely with Honeycomb tablets. What's your experience been?

just downloaded it
the home layout looks fine but sort of not ment for a tab like some of the apps are just little icons in the corner of the boxes theyre ment to be in and on the my apps page you just get a long list of your apps which looks like a stretched phone version :L
thanks for the link but i think ill put it back to how it wass

So far it's been working fine for me. No FC or lag issues. Improvement if I would say.

Just played around with it. It's not for tablets. Low res banners and small app icons. My apps section isn't that great either.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I think I'll old off on this one for a bit. Using it on my SGSII and it's great! But I'll wait for a better tablet-optimized version.

I must say this one is stable and working fine with my tab.
No fc and no lag at all.
Page loaded quite fast...happy with this one..

haven't tried in my G.Tab 10.1 yet, but have installed in on HTC Desire. I would say it is much faster.

There's a new version of the market out now after the Google Music reveal. Anyone tried it on their tablets yet?

3.3.12 seems to work good. runs task 5.1 and everything seems fine.

how about one optimized for tablets?

when I applied the same apk from my xoom on to my galaxy tab at first it was the right version but then the app updated on its own and it no longer was the tablet version.

For what its worth
Here is the same newer style of Market that has the right formatting
(Large icons and Text) its 3.1.5
hope that helps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1272152

Does it include the 'staff picks for tablets section?

yes
yes it does it, the only issue I'm having is that my tab keeps updating the market to 3.11 its pissing me.

Awesome Alternative NC Tablet Launcher - V VTL.Launcher

Hey guys, I installed this on my NookColor (eMMC CM7 Stable), and it is freaking sweet!! A must try, this is my default daily driver launcher, here is the link to the .apk that you can check out, link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1017451 and below are a couple of screen shots from my NookColor, cheers!
Interesting ill check it out. Im pretty partial to zeam right now.

I like zeam launcher too, but I figure I give this one a whirl, so far it's been working out really well. My favorite features is that you can display shortcut icons from the side.
I've been using this launcher as my daily driver for about 2 weeks now. I absolutely love it. It should be standard with CM7 w/tablet tweaks. I especially like the scrolling bar. No matter which screen I end up at when I press the home button, all of my "go to" apps are right there. It increases screen real estate for your widgets also. Great Launcher!

I just linked to the first topic for VTL in the Nook color forum, yes it was posted in the global android forum three days before the Nook Color forum.
Yes, VTL launcher is really nice on the 7'' screen here, even though it was made for the G-Tablet.
I'm not a fan of the side panels though. Feels a bit too crowded.

Water live wallpaper from Asus Transformer

APK is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048959
I doubted that this would work, but it kind of does - I am running CM7 nightly 55 with 1.3ghz oc
I simply installed the live wallpaper with a file manager and it runs, the water works and everything, but the images of the ice cubes and the bubbles are just white squares. Maybe someone else knows how to do this? There are two APKs in that thread, one is signed and one is unsigned. The MyWater.apk does not install, the MyWater_signed.apk will install.
I know this is a honeycomb live wallpaper, but it works this far, can we get it working all the way?
Also, I my screenshot app sucks, I just installed one real quick
Cool, it would be great if someone could get this to work.

I just extracted it and had a look...it's a Honeycomb widget...that sucks, cause honeycomb kinda blows, but I think it'll work on a Nook with the sdk version of honeycomb...I've got it installed on another Nook...charging now...I'll let you know in a little bit whether It works or not....btw, Animated Weather widget from the Market beats pretty much anything I've ever seen.....(If you're into weather that much....)
EDIT....It is recognized by nook running Honeycomb....it tries to install it, but there are too many system calls for Asus to simply change a permission or a line in one file to get this going without de/recompiling it, and frankly, it's beyond my ability ..Good luck, though...

This is a very cool wallpaper, but am I the only one finding that it gobbles up battery like there's no tomorrow? Even compared to other live wallpapers I've run this one seems a battery killer (I've been using the "Bamboo Forest" LWP for the past few weeks and not noticed anything like this).
Can you modify the apk so that the water level is around the 60% mark? I have a clock at the too that I'd like to keep.

Hi mike, can you share your expeience on ADW or Launcherpro?
Does the font on ADW bigger than sense? Smoother? Any screenshot to share?
Did you use clock from Fancy widget? Thanks.
I can't talk about adw, but I am using launcher pro on mine. So far I'm really loving it. It's just as fast and responsive as sense if not more so. It makes better use of the screen with smaller icons, and more compact layout in the app drawer. On top of that, the pen still works in the few places that it worked before (albeit there are only few places that it does work -_-)
There is little difference between adw and launcher pro on my book so I'd expect them to perform similarly on the flyer as well, bit if nobody has tried by tomorrow I'll install it and give it a try.

I tried the LP on my HD2_SD_Android with sense build, there is no performance different on LP with CM build. But those apps that from sense (eg SMS) with small font will still be in small font. I was hoping it will change the font size when in LP but it actaully doesn't.

This is my concern as well and have cause me to think twice on buying this Flyer.
Can you help confirm/share whether is there any effect/change after using the Spare part and change the LCD density? I am hoping and looking forward the customer ROM to replace Sense with CM7.

Sorry mate
Neither I use Spare part nor change the LCD density because I havent rooted my Flyer
(I understand that the LCD density can be changed via build.prop, but you will need Root Explorer, and to use Root Explorer, you need to root it, unless there is other way to do that)
Cheers

Thanks for the advise, I will continue to hold my purchase decision until it get rooted. If not, I may switch to Samsung 8.9" when launch, or even Huawei Mediapad (the spec is very attractive. 7", 1.2GHz DC...) or may be SGT 7" (I played it at one of the shop yesterday and kind of like it though the speed doesn't seem to meeting 1GHz expectation but good enough and I read that this is 2nd genration of 7" SGT)

Amen! I flashed MIUI this morning but irt seemed to be missing lot's of stuff that I was used to in previous MIUI releases (of course it's just unofficial and the dev has done a great job nonetheless). But this 360 Launcher fills in the gaps and without having to flash

Yeah that's true. The theme add ons aren't in English for the most part. However, they're done well enough that you know what you're getting without them being in English.
It's actually really pretty nice. I'm not sure if I'll keep it as my daily launcher. But I do like that when you turn it to landscape, the dock icons rotate to landscape rather than staying in portrait. It's also pretty smooth. And all the menus and what not are in English.
Yeh I had fun playing with the launcher but seems I'm missing a few things iI like.. the launcher doanr seem to have the ability to remove icon text on homescreens which I miss....but has some other cool features that make it cool like the whit spots.. there's a video in that thread if you watch it which shows alot..and has the ability to monitor outgoing data and wifi data which is nice and a kill process widget built in ... but lacks the dock bar to replace unless I'm missing something? .. but its cool to play with it and if it suits you then awesome.. but if not you didn't lose anything other then time..but its nice to explore other options right guys? ..

That's strange mine was English as well.. some apps where in chinese.. but in that thread they have english apps u can download separately ...
The widgets are mostly in Traditional Chinese from what I saw, but the rest of the app doesn't appear to be.. Themes etc generally were named in TC though.
It imported settings from Launcher Pro nicely, and even showed all of the apps after I set my columns to match Launcher Pro. That was a really nice touch.
It looks somewhat interesting, but I had ZERO widgets on the desktop, and it was really laggy. Jerky scrolling on the desktops, randomly really slow to respond. The app tray was designed pretty well though, letting you quickly get to a certain letter in the alphabet, and scrolled smoothly there. But the desktop experience was pretty poor IMO, I went back to Launcher Pro.
Way to laggy for me. The home screen graphics kept getting distorted and it was very slow moving. It has potential if they would just fix these couple issues.
