[Q] ?How to flash the Titan without error 260? - HTC Titan

Hey all,
I am a lucky owner of an HTC Titan/Eternity.
I don't understand why it don't works, when I start Rom update utility with .nbh inside.
When I try to flash my titan the RUU doesn't find the phone, and when I'm on bootloader there is no USB-logo on the screen.
My Hardware Version is 0002
Bootloader Version: 1.8.160015.3 (132000)
Radio: 16.23.02.09_2_16.24.00.23U
There are also other people here who have the same problems.
By connecting the phone and letting windows search for updates, windows don't finds anything so no idea how to get the drivers to install that the phone can be recognized.
Thx

Did you install the Zune software on your computer and then connected your phone? Which operating system do you have on your computer?

I am having the same problem.
Here is what I did:
1) d/l the ROM & unzip and d/l RUU from sutt359
2) Drop the ROM into the RUU folder, renaming it to RUU_signed.nbh
3) Restart phone into bootloader (power on holding volume down until you get the phone/usb cable/laptop logo)
4) Connet to PC (I get the USB Connection ding sound, but nothing on the phone screen changes. The first time I did it, Windows went looking for device driver)
5) Run RUU update utility. After the first couple of click-thrus, I get the "Verifying information on your PDA Phone" popup...then I get the Error 260 Connection Error popup.
Things I have tried - rebooting PC, disabling Zune on device connected, turning off password lock on phone.
Before I disabled Zune, it would open itself when I connected in bootloader mode, and then throw up a Restoration Error screen (the black one, like when you are doing an update). Figured it might be stealing the port and stopping the RUU.
Any ideas anyone?

when holding vol up button the phone vibrates 3 times and then a green light starts blinking. then windows starts looking for a driver for "qualcomm cdma technologies msm" but finds nothing

Ok, this is what's going wrong: it's instructed at phone startup to ONLY hold vol down button. That does not work.
Here's how you should do it: for bootloader state: hold BOTH vol up AND vol down together and keep pushing it. Then press power on once and voila: bootloader on your Titan. Now upgrading works like a charm.

Aha! I guess volume down with power button is some kind of recovery mode.
Both volume buttons and power brings U you the white screen.
All flashed now
Still doesn't fix my International Assist/Comtact recognition problem though . Never had this problem on the Mozart...

I see the same thing. However, why in the world this thing is looking for a CDMA driver is out of my level of understanding... this is a GSM phone I think it may be that Windows recognizes this thing, originally as a cdma device....
weird.

Moved to general, as not development.

Are you guys flashing something other than WP7?

Go spend some time on Wiki, searching for UMTS and you will find your answer.
UMTS uses Wideband Code Division Multiple Access, or W-CDMA. So yeah, you have a CDMA chip in your phone. (Although it is different from the Verizon type CDMA2000 chip. The difference is in how they utilise the radio spectrum).
In brief (as is my understanding), GSM phones have two radio chips - one for the GPRS (Edge) networks and one for UMTS faster networks (H, H+ etc). Your phone will use the "3G" UMTS network unless you set it to only use GPRS (Settings > Cellular > 3G on/off). Incidentally, you will find a massive boost to battery life if you do this, possibly better covereage in some areas, and much slower data speeds

it sounds like your trying to install an ruu thats not the correct one for your phone. did you get this from htc? if so you need to know if your phone is for a specific carrier like orange t mobile etc. if its a generic hero you need ruu for that which will be none carrier specific. if your phone isnt responding to anything try holding power button and home to go into recovery mode and select wipe data factory reset hope this helps.

when in this screen try pressing up on volume rocker then a menu should appear. go up and down menu with volume rocker and press power button to select your option. if this doesnt work try power and back button , keep holding back button and press power button once then options appear which should be<vol down> hboot mode and<menu> reset device this is the one you want so just press your menu key.to get out of this menu if you have any difficulty you will have to take battery out thats the only way i know how to get out of this screen without selecting an option that is.
p.s this is for if you press power and back, be carefull not to press volume rocker when it says hboot because another option will appear and if you accidently select option i think it could lock your sim so be carefull and good luck.

Hi
Ive purchased Hero from a guy who said it was rooted. Super Permissions is installed and working, so I skipped the rooting section
When trying to enter in recovery mode by pressing Home + Power, my phone shows a black hero with red exclamation mark inside a triangle, I plug the phone with my PC but nothing happens .... thus I cant select "USB-MS toggle" in recovery mode and move forward to place the Custom ROM on my SD card in the main directory and proceed

you need rom manager app to apply custom recovery so you can flash roms etc but if you want to know how to get options up on recovery screen with red triangle press up on volume rocker
I was following the procedures as mentioned in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10818270#post10818270
Nothing happens when I press volume up or down
try pressing power button or volume and power button it should work
Ok, I got it
I have only 4 options in ths screen, it says:
Android System Restore (2e) (or something like that)
- Reboot
- System wipe
- Apply update.zip
- Wipe Cache
I did, system wipe, which restored all factory settings and then wipe cache
Then I went for Apply update.zip (i named the custom Rom to update.zip earlier), but in vain
It will be very kind of you if you explain where Im getting it wrong
I have clock work now, through the Rom Manager app downloaded from the market
I have flashed 2 roms in succession, Stock Froyo & Cyanogen mod 6.1, but both stuck on the splash screen
try this http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/0...d-phone-with-rom-manager-full-backup-restore/ when you have flashed a rom sometimes it takes a while to boot and can hang at splash screen for ages so give it a chance i have waited five mins or more before rom goes to start up screen
Thanx for the help buddy, my Hero was stuck on Boot Splash for an hour or so
I took out the battery, wiped my device again and flashed Cyanogen's 6.1, it took about 5 minutes in first startup but after that its silky!
Thanx again

You should not flash a rom directly from recovery.I guess you did it without fastboot method so it is staying at the htc logo screen (as the kernel from the new rom did not get written on the boot partition). And the battery is completely discharged now as you fell asleep on the htc logo screen, it sucked up all the battery.
Now try to boot into bootloader (using power+volume down) if it cant turn on , then you might have to charge your phones battery using a universal charger (like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKsxq8SeN3Q ). After a charging of few mins if still it doesnt boot , then you might have to use another battery.
After charging/changing ur battery
>boot ino bootloader by pressing ( vol down + power )
> select fastboot on phone and connect phone to PC(phone should say fastboot-USB)
> run command prompt and navigate to your fastboot folder in cmd (folder which you used while unlocking your bootloader. It should have some file like fastboot.exe, adb.exe etc)
> open up your ROM.zip using winRAR and copy the boot.img from the zip to your fastboot folder
>then in command prompt type "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
>then download this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=803714&d=1322926029 and extract it to your fasboot folder
>then in command prompt type "fastboot flash recovery cwm.img"
>then type "fastboot boot cwm.img" then recovery should boot (You should also see the RED LED lit up in recovery mode.)
>Wipe everything
>Now in recovery select install zip from sdcard and flash the same ROM.zip from which you copied the boot.img.
Then reboot your phone it should work and should not stuck on the HTC logo screen.
HOPE THIS HELPS............
Thanks for the help,
i have striped a usb cable and started the phone with the red and black wire to the accu so it start charging.
now i run in the boot loader and do the steps you say,
when you say the phone start with the recovery it stays on the htc logo splash screen... again...
did i something wrong again?

Do you own or know the recovery name that worked that time when you intalled the ROM?
try using that instead of cwm.img then check if that 1 boots. Also type the name of the recovery in command prompt instead of typing cwm.img.
If that 1 also fails you will need to lock your bootloader and flash RUU. Then everything will be fine AFAIK. But only use RUU made for your phone.
Do you have sprint cdma evo 3d or rogers or any other?
i dont know where to find my version of HTC EVO 3D?
i come a bit further now and i can boot into the recovery modes and select a install from sd rule. when i select install from zip and select the zip on my sd card. it loads for a while and after a while it says. installation aborted. when i toggle singature verrification it give me the error verification failed.
what to do now?
Simple go into settings/power and turn fastboot off also see if there is an update available software wise

I can't load in fastboot mode

Hello,
I would like to root my Z5C, but I can't load the phone in fastboot mode.
I tried the following :
adb reboot bootloader (with my phone one, with usb debug)
the phone shut down completely, but nothing is displayed on the screen
power up + volume up (from my phone shutdowned)
there are three vibrations, and sometimes the logo Xperia appears for a few second, but then the screen show the charging icon
power down + plug usb (from my phone shutdowned)
nothing appends
each time, I tried the following command to check if the phone was indeed in fastboot mode :
fastboot devices
but I get nothing (empty list).
Could you help me please?
thanks in advance.
As far as I know, only the led will light up. The display stays black. Have you looked in the device manager if your device is recognized there. Maybe as an unknown device etc?
then I probably don't have the correct driver. I installed this one
developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/xperia-z5-compact-driver
Do you know where I can find the correct driver?
In device manager, I see a new item when I plug my phone :
USB mass storage device
I tried to update the driver with the one mentioned before, but it says that it is already up to date.

You've got some commands wrong. Volume up plus power is hard reset. You get 3 vibrations then phone is off.
To get into fastboot mode or flash mode you do not use power button and phone needs to be off. Simply hold volume up and plug in USB for fastboot mode, or hold volume down plus plug in USB for flash mode. Blue LED for fastboot and green LED for flash mode.
This is the best option for install and drivers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48915118
I became a lot more understandable, thanks you.
I tried to install android driver from the topic you suggested (I know I should post in this topic, but I have not enough privileges to do so), but I have the following issue :
after the installation of the drivers, I followed the howto_driver.zip (the device is not recognized), and in step 5, I don't see the "android device" driver.

Samsung Stuck on Logo Screen

Hey everyone , I ran into some trouble with my device and I thought this is the only place I could find a solution,
I was trying to root my samsung tab a (2019) (SM-T515) , but something went wrong after flashing twrp ( specially made for tab a ) and ever since my phone is stuck on the main "Samsung galaxy tab A secured by knox" screen with a yellow triangle symbol below it , it isn't being detected by my PC anymore either. This is what I did in steps:
1)Unlock OEM
2)Go in download mode and flash twrp , it said "pass" and I had auto-reboot off , so I rebooted and got stuck here.
I have tried the power button , it doesn't do anything , also the volume up + power key (recovery mode) doesn't do anything either.
Also I tried the volume down + power button , it restarts the phone and puts it back to the same screen after this message ( see attached imgs ).

Would a USB Jig work in this case?
Hold Power + Vol Down for 7 seconds, then immediate switch to Power + Vol Up to enter TWRP. If that doesn't work, attached USB cable, hold Power + Vol Down for 7 seconds, then switch to Vol Up + Vol Down to enter Download Mode. From there you can flash a known-good OEM build with Odin.

It's possible. When I first started developing for this tablet, I gave up and was ready to let the damn battery drain to reset the device. After about a week, I tried again and finally got the timing right. You need to hold for just a little over 7 seconds, enough so that the reset begins and the screen goes blank. When that happens, immediately switch to the Vol Up & Vol Down combo. (Also, don't forget that you have to have the USB cable connected. It won't work without that.)

Heres what I do ,
1. Attach USB
2.Reset it (vol. down + power)
3.This screen opens
4.I immediately hold Vol. Down + Vol. Up
5.After like 2 seconds, this screen shows up, demanding me to press the power button
6.I ignore it and keep holding vol. down + vol. up, after a while , it goes away automatically , and goes back to this screen
And stays there
Ok , I do not know what I did , but somehow its in download mode now. well thanks for the help @Magendanz , what now , I flashed the original firmware , the tablet started, do I try to root it again?
Is your TWRP version ok for T515?
Also, I was asked to factory wipe the device cause the data was somehow corrupted , idk why was that cause , maybe the twrp version isn't stable? I don't know if I should try again or not.

Well, I don't have a T515, and so I really can't say for sure. I build the custom kernel from the latest SM-T515 kernel source and follow the same build process as I use for the T510, but I'm relying on others to test it. I can only say for sure that the SM-T510 builds work.

If you didn't install Multidisabler, then the fstab will require encryption. If you wiped it in TWRP, rebooting to system will insist the user partition be reformatted with encryption before it will proceed unless dm-verity is disabled.

Question Nord 2 Hard brick

Available: there is a phone, 12/256, DN2103, black screen, recovery and fastboot do not turn on (but the buttons are working), when charging is connected via a USB tester (measures volts, amps and transmitted mAh) and when the power button is pressed for a long time, charging stops for a moment and starts again (restarts?). When you press all the buttons on the smartphone (volume minus and plus, the power button), the "USB Serial Interface Device (COM4)" ("Устройство последовательного интерфейса USB (COM4)) appears in the device manager. Yes, the drivers are installed.

The MTK Auth Bypass Tool V7.8.0.5 program shows disable device security fail! when connecting a smartphone and pressing all the buttons for a long time.

MTKClient Program
When all the buttons or volume buttons are held down for a long time, it gives out:
Handshake failed, retrying...

And so it repeats several times, with the system sound of the connected device.
Are there any ways to recover?
From GitHub, where the MTKClient program is located, I downloaded the disk image, booted from it. The phone began to be determined, but even here to no avail

Join this telegram group theres a diffrent mtkclient on there - https://t.me/OnePlusNord2GlobalOfficial/
Search for mtkclient in that group
i am in the same boat as you , i use mtk bypass auth v6 and it does bypass but then after sometime the phone is getting disconnected , Giovix himself said he is going to look into this issue of black screen and me and giovix are in talks regarding the same , his laptop is in service center so waiting for his laptop so me and him can discuss and work on it .
Note : i am no developer i am just a normal guy like you .
I suggest you to join that group on telegram and tag giovix and have a talk with him and let him know that there are many people with this problem .
Meanwhile ill wait till he gets his laptop back to me and him can start experimenting what the problem is , i think he will definitely solve the problem .
Hi there, I'll try to summarize everything:
Unfortunately, the new bootloader doesn't actually provide a way to enter BROM mode like it did before, nor access fastboot. If y'all were on/upgraded to C.10/11, then there's no chance for now.
I've tried to contact bkerler, MTKClient's dev (here, github issue) regarding this specific problem, and as of now it affects both Nord 2 and Nord 2T.
There isn't really a way to recover it, cause it would need a signed preloader (at least that's what I'm assuming, since the preloader itself spits an authorization error), like any Xiaomi device.
If you can, go to a service center and get it repaired. If you can't, I'm afraid the only thing you can do is to wait for a possible solution.
Nonetheless, I'll try to see if there's a way to bypass that.

Thanks for the reply. Does it make sense to contact any service center to try to solve this problem?
Will buying a board from another disassembled phone solve this problem?

SVC will revive your phone rightaway , no need to buy another board , they have diffrent tools for flashing , they revived my phone but for some reasons i deleted my system partition so they were not able to flash my imei partition which is weird .
But in your case SVC will definitely solve your problem without needing to buyba motherboard , just ask them to flash your phone .
