Working mp3 player with alot of features - Galaxy 3 Themes and Apps

Hi
I have a 16gb class 2 sdcard wich is very slow. There's alot of music everywhere on my sd but every app I use force closes while scanning or playing songs. Are there apps that can play my music and just don't bother themselves to my sdcard?

Btw I already tried (of coarse) the stock one, google music, winamp and poweramp but none of them seem to work...

try music mod

Power Amp
great Bass Power
Folder search & operations
stable!

I already tried poweramp see second post but that also fces. And music mod also fces

Try Songbird

Either there is a problem with ur sd card or the apps. But if all the music app are force closing, well i think it could be some problem with your sd card.
Btw do the music players play the music which they have found(some inbulit music)? if yes then try checking your ext partion. There may something with that.
Hope this helps

Yes the can play the music if it's scanned but only for half a minute or less then fc. It just could be my sdcard because of 16gb and class 2... Btw I'm not using partitions except for the system ones
Edit: songbird works without fcs!! Tnx!

Ok so songbird works but it hasn't alot futures, it just plays my music (sometimes automatically when my screen is off) any other suggestions?

Did you try to change rom with wipe data etc? Maybe its rom bug or sdcard speed fix if its used

Try "ttpod (free)" ..

Yes, try TTPOD, thats a great mp3 player and more and more a rivalry of PowerAmp.

I don't think it's the sd card.. 'coz i have 8gb class2 card, and 5gb of music and movies, and non force closes.. i listen music with the stock player, and movies with mvideo app. must be something else. try wipe data, or flash another rom, or just reflash the same..

hey guys, you can try this modded version of miui player for galaxy 3 it looks like the Walkman player from SE phones, and its very fast,i use it on my G3 and its very good.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325310

Any music files on your sd could be corrupted. I had same problem. I deleted all music files and redownload from better sources and everything is OK now

[Q] About playing music from SD card using default music player

Someone said the default music player can't play music from SD card directly. Is that true? I am considering which model (32GB or 16GB) should I buy.

I just tested this. You can play pretty much anything off of the ext sd card that your heart desires, without transferring anything. What I do is use 'es file explorer'. Open that up, and change your default "home" directory to "/" (without quotes) via the settings. This is the root directory of the system. There will be a folder called 'sdcard2'. Which is your external sd. Now you can browse for any file, and play any file you want. Of course, this folder will not be accessible if you just open the music/video player; unless you use the file transfer app. But just use a file explorer. Its the same thing!

But using a file explorer will not let you play all the songs at once. You can only play each song one by one...

This is true. So, you'd have to use the file transfer app for that. We need root!!! And all of these tedious issues would go away. I need to start running some adb commands. Lol!

Thanks both of you. Is that a android 3.X problem? or the app just search the specific music folder on internal storage, so it can play music from other directory.
What happens if you have an .m3u playlist file together with your mp3 list in the card, and open that one with an m3u app, for example?

Actually its a Sony issue. All of the other tablets that I've had (gtab, xoom, transformer) did not suffer from this issue. I believe that Sony did this to prevent users from "expanding" their storage. Its lame, but after root it would be an easy fix!
EDIT: Im pretty sure that third-party apps don't suffer from locating the ext sd card via their interfaces. I think its just the built-in Sony apps? Definitely not an android 3.x issue.

Hi,
Just tried this on my sony tablet, m3u opening is tricky but there's another, simpler way:
Install Astro Player Nova, for example
Then navigate to /mnt/sdcard2 and just select all mp3 files and let 'em rip!

Ok, guys you can play music or videos from the SD card but using a third party app like for music I use PowerAmp and for video Video MX and it works flawlessly.
still no good news about playing music SD card using the default music player??
Even more simple
With the Poweramp player you can select in the settings wich folders you want to be in your library included the one from your ext sd card. So you can play every album you have on it, shuffle it, make playlists etc...

Player Pro does this.
Agreed +1 on player pro (current player with sense skin)
Also use the folder option as well...so that option won me over entirely
I think there is like one more player that offers a folder option (trust me I went through them ALL) but cant think of it to save my life...might of been miui player??? idk?? dont hold me to it...
I think Mixing had folder option as well. I started using Player Pro a couple years ago and never looked back.
It's good but i prefer poweramp

It has a nice interface, but messing with the EQ too much causes it to hang. And if music is playing, you can't control it in any way, the only solution is to force close the app.
I usually just use Amazon MP3 to play music. The stock Blur player leaves a lot to be desired, and Google Music doesn't (seem to?) differentiate between cloud and local playback. With Amazon MP3 it's real easy. Plus, I buy music from them and I've ripped and uploaded my CDs to their cloud (and to Google's, it's nice to have options, heh). It isn't a great player, but it's reliable. And while I enjoy music, I don't play it on my phone often enough to need a fancy player.
But, thanks for the link, it was fun to try out.

[Q] music players

Hi i have problem with any of the music players. After i uninstalled stock music player every third party players not showing my music on the sd card, only one i can use is mort player which playing folders. Is this happening because of stock application was uninstalled? Everything is fine with sd card. Thanks for reply
Swyped from Galaxy mini via XDA premium
edit: GoneMad music player without problem too. Real player, doubletwist, poweramp, player pro, uber music, ttpod etc just nothing...
Did you try after reinstalling the stock music palyer
I have it backuped but I don't know how to install as system app... Normally it wont install. I'm rooted and using es file explorer
Swyped from Galaxy mini via XDA premium
you can try mixzing basic media player. theres an integrated "scan media" option to scan your sd card for playable content.
a good add-on feature is, it can also play videos
perhaps this helps...
Obviously you had removed the system app named 'MediaProvider.apk',which would cause your device couldnt scan any media file.
Just turn to somebody using the same device for this app then copy to system/app.Hope it can help you
Sorry i didn't post here soon. I solved the problem. It was caused by quickpic when i hide the album art from it. So there was .nomedia in music folder so stupid intelligence players like player pro didn't scan it. Everythings ok now. But thanks for your willingness to help me

Appolo CM9 PROBLEM

Hey guys, suddenly the apollo music player cant see the music anymore and cant even play anymore a mp3 file using apollo, its not in the list anymore.Any solution?I tried wipe cache/dalvik cache, still nothin,im using CM9 STABLE.Any solution?Dont tell me reinstall the rom cuz i don`t want, except that, any solution?:good:
Try a different music player. I recommend PowerAmp, although it has a 15 day trial after which you have to buy it.
Or if you want rudimentary music playing, there are lots on the Play store that can do the job.

Already got the full version anyway, my problem is apollo itself, it doesnt want to work again, damn with it.

it looks like the system media scanner is not working well, a process which Apollo depends on to find your music file.
PowerAmp works because it has it's own scanner.
You can force rescanning of your media files using some app in the market.
Search for media scanner in the market. Most of those apps are free and will sure get the job done.
Good luck
