Unbranding Phone - Orange UK - HTC Radar

I am sure that I am not the only one who has bought an Orange UK phone and wants to use in on another network. I'll get an unlock code to allow my T-Mobile SIM to work. But I want to unbrand the phone too so that I get rid completely of all the Orange branding and Orange software. What are my options?
1) simply flash with alternative branded ROM.
Inevitably this doesn't work and the RUU.exe program quickly indentifies the phone I am trying to flash has the Invalid Operator ID and will not flash it.
2) Goldcard.
I have a Windows 7 Phone Goldcard which I have created using an XTC Clip. I have copied the Europe.nbh ROM over to is and tried rename as OMEGIMG.nbh and RADAIMG.nbh. I've used a HD7 Unlock Kit Y-cable and put the Radar in USB Hostmode, but it has done nothing. (The same cable and SD card worked perfectly for my Mozart.)
3) Ansar's supplemented ROM method.
For other devices Ansar has supplement parts of the nbh file to twick the valid Operator ID check, I think using a "bin to d000ff builder". However, as I understand it, this won't work unless I have an RUU_Radar_Orange.exe file to start with.
Any other ideas?

Have been trying to flash .nbh file in Bootloader mode but stuck on 5% and bricked my phone and motherboard had to be replaced.
Have you considered flasing in USB mode using OTG cable?
Bought this one:

Could you send how to make goldcard for wp7?

Sorry to hear you have bricked your phone.
I've got a little further in that I have definitely established that the image for Goldcard needs to be OMEGIMG.NBH (not RADAIMG.IMG). (With Radaimg.nbh the device says image not found.) Once the phone is connected to the HD7 Unlock cable, in USB Host Mode, with OMEGIMG on the Goldcard it says Loading, then drops into "Bootloader" mode, but with neither Serial or USB displayed.
I've not heard of the OTG cable. How does that work?
For Goldcard I made mine using the XTC Clip (Mozart mode). You can do it a longer method using an Android or Windows Mobile 6.x device which includes an SD slot, or a laptop that has a "real" SD card reader (not connected over any USB bus).

OTG cable is a cable which allows you to connect usb stick/sdcard reader via USB
it definitely works with SGS2/Nokia

Oh yes, I've just looked up info on the "On-The-Go" USB cable. It seems that there is a subtle difference from standard USB so that the device (mobile phone) can act as a host. Will the OTG cable allow the Radar to power the SD Card reader? Is there any evidence of it working on any other HTC Phones?

I haven't tried that yet

I'm embarassed to say that trying again with the goldcard I have misled you. On either filename the device says Loading, then Image not Found before dropping into Bootloader mode. I had not watched carefully enough before.
But from this I conclude that the device is seeing the goldcard (as before the y-cable is connected it does nothing), but not finding the correct image.
Any suggestions what other filenames should be tried?
So far I have tried IMG.NBH, OMEGIMG.NBH, RADAIMG.NBH
Is there any other code for the Radar 4G ?

You might want to check on the HD7 forums or the hacking forums for WP7. I have never used the Gold Card method so I am not sure how it works. Is it just an nbh file deployed to the card or is the card specificly formatted and then the nbh extracted to the specially formatted card. As far as I know the xtc clip only supports the HD7 and does not support the Radar (yet?).

Hello everybody,
I've tried with 2 differents RUU and I have the same problem; it stuck at 5% and I have a windows with IU534 error "flash write error happen".
I've also extracted the content of the RUU and launched the Rom update utilty, same way...
My phone's always starting on the white screen (radio-16.23.02.09_2).
Any ideas ??
I think it's a bootloader blocking but I've not enough knoledge to unblock it.
PS : sorry for my bad english, I'm french

As I have warned before - your phone is bricked and as far as there weill be decent developers for Radar you cannot do anything but send phone to be repaired.
The bad is that I am waiting from 14th od November and no results (they have ordered motherboard from the supplier)

Thanks for your answer masi0, I hope you'll receive your phone soon !
Looks like it's an Orange problem (mine is Orange France), I'd like to know if any other members have succeeded in updating their phones !

I don't think it's carrier problem - I think we are upgrading phones in a wrong way

I've tried with many differents RUU and I have the same problem; it stuck at 5% and I have a windows with IU534 error "flash write error happen".
can anybody help? radar sim-free, not brand. It problem with phone - not with brand
....t-mobile unbranding without problem by goldcard....

Wow, after a year of frustration whenever I have tried to unbrand my phone I have finally found the solution. I hope it helps others and of course it is a simple solution.
My mistake was that I made the goldcard and then copied the NBH file over to it (I'm sure that's what I did before with the Mozart and it worked). However, what worked for me was that first I formatted the MicroSD card (Fat32), then copied the NBH file over, renamed as OMEGIMG.NBH, then ran the GoldCard Tool as administrator. Once this was done, I put the phone into USB Host mode and connected the Y-cable. I left it alone for an hour whilst I did something else and returned to find the phone had been updated and debranded with the NBH file required.

Help, thnk I bricked my G4 Wizard

I had my wizard upgraded to WM6. I was trying to upgrade it again to PDVait3 WM6. I was running the Shell tool. Even after an hr didn't go through, so I killed the process. When I reboot my wizard it stops with the bootloader screen. There is no usb at the bottom. This is what it reads
IPL 2.25.0001
SPL 2.25.0001
GSM 02.25.11
OS 10.1.0.811
No usb at the bottom of the screen. Active sync doesn't connect.
Is there a way to bring back the usb connection.
Any help will be appreciated.
If you see bootloader, it is not a brick
Hi,
im not a Guru on this, but i had a similar problem.
I THink your phone is not bricked since you get to the bootloader,
ActiveSync wont work since there is no OS on your phone, but nevertheless the USB is working and you must flash a need OS through there.
Download the Wizard Love ROM, and keep it always in hand since it works 100% of the time.
Unzip it and then run: newromupdateutility_wizard_noid.exe
Thats pretty much all you need to do.
It will flash the wizard love rom, and youll get your phone up and running again in no time.
Dont stop or kill the process until its done, you will notice it hangs around 14% and 96%, it will complete , dont stop it, it takes about 10mins or more.
If you want to try a new OS, like WM6, read the first sticky on this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293480&page=14. I have use this method and i went from Wizard Love rom to PDAVIET4. Then from PDAVIet4 to Aku3.3v2 (but did not work). I flashed wizard love, and then using the method i went from Wizard Love to Aku 3.3v2. Works like a charm.
Please excuse my english, im spanish.
if you have any question, mail me.
I'm trying to use the shell tool but in the first step it shuld show me the current rom information and it doesn't
Is it OK? Can I proced with the upgrade?

Yup, don't be afraid. Currently I have faria's 3.3 ROM, and it doesn't show anything. Take any G4 ROM, load into bootloader, then connect to USB and flash. Good luck!
Thanks for the response edgardito.
I tried flashing with Wizard Love but no luck. It gives an error pretty much saying check your usb connection to the device and computer.
The problem seems to be the Wizard is not connecting to the PC. I went from AS 4.5 to 4.2 but no luck.
Is there any other thing I can try? Please let me know.
I am attaching a jpeg showing the screen. Resolution might not be that good.
check this thread worked for me to un-brick my wizard

This is just a boot splash, put the device in the tri-colored bootloader mode as described in the wiki. If you are getting that boot splash you should be able to get into the bootloader. Try to flash again using your carriers original ROM (whole RUU intaller) if you have it, but do not use the one from HTC's site. Try 1) In activesync disable usb connections 2) kill activesync processes (wcescomm.exe) on the PC using task manager before running the RUU.
Check your PM's
It works !!
Thanks guys for the help. The solution was so simple. Just had to put the phone in the boot loader mode by holding the camera button and pushing the power button. I loaded Wizard love on it.
Thanks to all the people who helped put together Wizard love. It has saved my a$$ so many times.
I am having trouble following the guide above. I have the Love rom and it gives me this error.

Bricked G4 Phone
I bricked my phone. I already upgraded the MDA from WM5 to WM6 and had used it for over a year when it suddenly became slow. So I attempted to do it all over again in order to have a fresh install.
Right now, when I attempt to boot, it gets stuck on the screen:
IPL 2.26.0001
SPL 2.26.0001
GSM 02.25.11
OS 2.18.0.0
I can get to the boot loader screen by pressing the camera and reset buttons.
I have tried flashing with SD but no such luck. I got an RUU file and renamed to different things and placed on the SD card, no luck still.
When I get to boot loader screen, I see the USB sign on the phone when USB is connected. But all attempts to get to the phone from PC proved futile.
PC is Windows Vista.
Thanks!

PC with vista is the problem here, but you cannot flash any custom build wm6 rom straight like that,as its a G4 device, first you'll have to get it 'HardSPL' anf than upgrade.
Download and flash official stock rom to recover back to its default status, then get it HardSPL and than upgrade to wm6.

New rom upgrade from At&t

I also just received this text message but sadly this is the same WM5 ROM that was released a few weeks back. Nothing new (to people that frequent here anyhow)
They must be getting ready for the WM6 release.
Hi, I'm quite new to the forum and I do apologize if this has been covered. I just don't know where to look for the answer.
Is there away to upgrade to the ROM that was texted to me from cingular/at&t on a MAC?
TIA
iNfEk
Apparently I have a very old ROM on my 8525 and wanted to upgrade.
ROM Version: 1.34.502.1
ROM Date: 09/26/07
Radio Version: 1.16.00.00
Protocol Version: 32.53.7018.01H
This is the first time that I have received a message to upgrade. I have NOT had the phone that long. I'd say a couple of months at the most.

You will need something like Paralells or bootcamp to do it. I would recommend thoroughly testing the connection reliability. I use a 15" MBP C2Duo all the time - but the connection can be tricky - test with some flash screen flashes or something relatively harmless. Check out www.mrvanx.org for help on flashing in general.
oops... LOL It's supposed to be 09/26/06
yes I use parallels and decided to try it on my own ATM. I'm in the middle of doing it now.
The screen has 4 colors on it (red, green, blue, white)
HERM100
IPL-1.01
HERM100
SPL-1.06
and on the white area it says USB
I decided to stop and wait for a reply
I disconnected and hit the reset button on the bottom of the phone. should I update since my ROM version is quite old?

Yes, but only if you will read the guide I posted first. If done properly, there is little to fear. If not, then you could screw up your device. If you will read through the guide and follow each step (incliding HardSPL flashing), then GO FOR IT! If not, best leave it for another time.
Thanks, I'm looking at the site already. man these types of phones are completely different than the other types of phones that I've previously dealt with. the lingo is completely different
thanks though. I'll be sure to read the guides.
ok so i tried to follow the guide on my MBP C2Duo and when getting to the part with the Hard SPL I got an error about my connection. Am I doing something wrong?
Fair warning - I'm using my unlocked ATT/Cingular 8525 on Telstra in Oz and the upgrade removed my ability to access the internet with my Telstra SIM.
Darn it.

How are running windows - paralells, bootcamp, ???
What version of windows - XP, Vista?
Does ActiveSync see the connection in windows?
Before you upgrade, there are a few issues you should know about the new version.
1.- You won't be able to access streaming media through IE,you can only access streming through pay software included (Att music, XM, etc) and you won't be able to use your own subscription to XM, you'll have to pay ATT anyway to use it.
2.- You won't be able to go back to any previous version unless you use an external bootloader
3.- The alarm goes off only when you have flight mode off, (I always turn it on at 5 pm so guys at work or customers won't bother me)

Just re-enter your Telstra carrier's GPRS settings, mms as well if you use it.
Most custom roms and definately other carrier's roms will not re-customize these for you. You should save off the relevant cab files from your EXT-ROM before you flash with an "unapproved (by your carrier)" ROM.

I had to enable Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC > Enable advanced network functionality in order for ActiveSync / WMDC to see the phone and launch. However when following the tutorial on the site that you posted I kept receiving an error stating to check my connection. I followed everything to the T and still couldn't get it to work. Finally frustrated I just tried the new ROM that was posted and I was able to successfully upgrade it.
The weird thing is that even though I received the message to allow an unaproved (by your carrier) message and allowed it... It seemed to do what it's supposed to. Meaning that I got the screen with the 4 colors and the new version number and everything but for some reason the phone would NOT restart and then eventually the software would time out.
Any ideas? am I still able to do that update?
This was done through Parallels not through bootcamp and I did everything required for Vista prior to doing the update. This version of Vista is Ultimate OEM and fully licensed. I also had to download the WMDC from microsoft as stated in the tutorial as well. That installed but same problems
Thanks
Now that I have the AT&T ROM loaded I do NOT have "enable advanced network fnctionality" enabled and I have successfully connected my MBP to my phone via bluetooth PAN. I am able to get online with that connection type and I have also been able to browse the web on the phone through IE.
So, I am not exactly sure where we are atm. It sounds like you *did* get the new ROM on the phone? Things seem to be working?
Is there more that you need? Are you just trying to figure out the USB connection to the MBP now?
Sorry, but I am confused

yes, I did get the new ROM onto the phone but I did NOT do what you had asked me to do though. I tried to follow the tutorial BEFORE doing the AT&T ROM since that should keep everything safe from harm but it didn't work. being discouraged at all the time I spend on that side I decided to just load the ROM that AT&T told me to download and that was a success.
Will I or do I need to do the Hard SPL and other things on the site you posted earlier to make sure my info isn't messed up when modding the phone later on?

i think i messed up my friend's hermes for good

this is my first post and as you'll learn quickly i'm a total newbie. I'm such a newbie that you'll find a picture of me on the dictionary entry of noob. anyway, on to my problem.
About a month ago i purchased a HTC Hermes, more specifically AT&T 8525. My cell phone provider is T-Mobile. I googled AT&T 8525 unlocker and sure thing found this great unlocker. Free HTC Hermes SIM & CID Unlocker *New* version v3a. Needless to say the unlocking worked perfectly. My phone ran Windows Mobile 6.0 Pro.
Fast forward about three and a half weeks ago and my friend got the same phone off ebay. He has T-Mobile too and I told him i would unlock it for him since mine worked flawlessly. Well, his phone runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 Pro. I started the update process on the computer and here's what the screens looked like

The progress bar remained at zero then this screen came up

I have tried over and over again and get the same error. I have tried using different USB ports, USB cables, and two computers, both running vista but i have had no luck. now the phone is be in the tri-color mode and it won't do anything. All the screen says is
HERM100
IPL-1.01
HERM100
SPL-1.40.Olipro
If i can't fix it i guess i will have to give my friend my phone and will lose a lot of money. Any help is appreciated. I tried doing a search and all the posts can't help me since i don't know much at all when it comes to phones.

its a United States AT&T 8525. i tried flashing it with the Official HTC WM6 ROM from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316726 but now the progress bar goes to 11 then it gives me the same error. I'll have to try it on from a XP. on the Readme it says there might me a problem with ports. How do i check if there is a problem with that.

If you are on vista make sure you download the latest version of wmdc from microsoft.
Then flash the most recent at&t rom from here

If this still doesn't work use an xp machine. If you can't use an xp machine there is a guide that explains how to swap the wmdc drivers for active sync ones.

why does everyone seem to point the main cause of problems to vista?
I have vista installed and i dont have any problem flashing with WMDC (latest version installed) and have updated vista with sp1 , i did used to have problems sync'ing the phone before i installed sp1 but afterwards i have had no problems and flashed a number of phones for people who had experienced the same thing as MNNK.
Anyway enough of my moaning. Basically i would flash an original rom. then try flashing hardspl . If the HTC one wont work try the network rom, that it was originally on, T-Mobile.

Now you opened a can of worms.... Everyone thinks something else is best, & it is for them..... A rom is a personal choice so asking whats best is like your girlfriend asking if you think shes fat, THERE IS NO RIGHT ANSWER.....
Seriously though, do some research on the Hermes Mobile 6 part of the forum as I believe someones started an updated list of current roms.
Cheers.....

Okay, i'll stay away from that. but i still can't flash HardSPL on my phone. it gives me error 260.
1) i uncheck the allow USB connections on WMDC
2). i run the SPL-HERMES.exe on my phone and connect to usb.
3). run ruu_wrapper.exe
I also read the guide here http://www.mrvanx.org/hermes_guide/hardspl and nothing.
Then i tried using the Unlocker but that gives me the same error 260. i have tried the SD card method but mine is a 4gb microSDHC. my phone recognizes the card and i renamed the .nbh file. So i launch spl-herm.exe and nothing happens. i do hit the power button. still nothing.
When running SSPL-HERM.exe it says i have SPL-1.09.ds. when i do a manual bootload it says i have SPL-1.40.Olipro
what did you rename the image as when you placed it onto the sd card?
I know a lot of people have renamed the file incorrectly?
Also, I know people who SWEAR they formated fat32 but when I did it again using the same card freshly formatted it worked.
Cheers...

i did format it with fat32, quick format and normal format, default allocation size and 4096 bytes. i know i said i am a newbie when it comes to phones but i'm not one when it comes to computers. i would rather have Hard-SPL flashing first though, and also i have no Radio ROM currently on the phone.
The fact you have no radio is probably your BIGGEST problem. The no GSM error is what makes most bricks. Up til now there is no reliable surefire fix.
Looks like you have a PDA on your hands but no phone functionality. You can load an os only rom - generally they are the cooked roms, but you have more chance of jumping off a cliff and instantly growing usable wings than fixing this in a hurry...
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. but thats why the unlocker won't flash on, it replaces the radio rom to something that allows the sim/cid to be unlocked.
You should still be able to flash Hard SPL on but don't pick any roms with the radio cooked in as they WON'T flash.
Cheers...

yeah i kinda thought that was the case. Since the unlocker replaces the Radio ROM, but the frustrating thing is that the HardSPL isn't flashing. Stupid VISTA. Let's say i am able to flash HardSPL. can't i flash a Radio ROM only? or the original ROM found on the wiki.
Maybe, people somteime can recover their radio roms flashing a radio only rom or the original shipped rom, BUT, if this doesn't work then there seems little hope of you actually fixing this problem. There are quite a few threads with numerous "I got it working" posts but then those same people are back the next day bemoaning the fact that it didn't work. If by some miracle you do get it working, make sure you post what happened and how you fixed it but wait a day or two to check it really is fixed or just faking you out.
Good luck, I think you're gonna need it....
And don't get me started on Vista

WOW, first try on XP and HardSPL flashed like that (snap).

is there a way to unbrick a HD2?

after rom flash it just went dead, no light, no bootloader no nothing.
tried hard reset, pressing different button and it wont work no bootloader to load other roms.....
What ROM did you flash? I read this before that someone flashed the wrong ROM to their new HD2 and bricked it. I couldn't find the posting. I think there wasn't any solution since you need the bootloader to flash the ROM. The only suggestion was to find someone that can factory program the phone and hopefully restore it with the correct bootloader and ROM.
Sorry to hear it, but hope it helps
more info would be a good start. which hd2? what rom? hspl2? hspl-1024?
ah Sorry about the missing info.
HSPL2 on a tmobile USA version.
HSPL2 installed flawless it went dead right the way after flashing the ROM-Version:RUU_Leo_HKCSL_WWE_1.72.831.1_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship
well there is your problem. The tmous 1024 only supports roms based on a 2.10 base. You have flashed a 1.72 based rom. I dont know if it recoverable, you should start in the rom development section. (And also the new tmous rom develoment section.)
Best of luck.
Also, (and do correct me if I'm wrong here) but I'm pretty sure you want to avoid ROMs with Radios since (I think) that will brick the USTMO HD2 as well. (unless of course it's the same/TMOUSA radio)
IM with you... just done bricked my hd2 right now to. wanted to test UK rom with im running tmous.... Everyone warned me!

im guessing sometimes a thread gets so cluttered that it gets too long for a person to read each post and then just skips around. im guilty of doing that and sometime i do miss some vital information.
hope you can unbrick your hd2.
i got a telstra coming that i will be using on at&t, hope i get all the info before i start flashing mine

I wanted to ask if you ever managed to unbrick your HD2?
I flashed the same ROM - which is SILLY - and bricked my HD2 - only 1 day old...
I am hoping if anyone could find a factory bootloader so that I can have my babe reflashed to TMO???...
Pls pls help...
Can someone help me unbrick my HTC HD2 give me link HELP!!!
I hate to say it, but the reason that it's called a 'bricked' phone is because it's not fixable (at least not at this time, and likely never).
If you can't get to the bootloader there's nothing you can do.
NOthing yet guess? as long we could always turn it back to tmobile. Which I did so Im getting mine this week. I love tmobile for customer service. Anyone knows how HTC goes about refurbishing these brick devices?
someone needs to find out how htc goes about with these refurbish devices. we need engineers on xda!
what has been bricked can't be unbricked!

they almost certainly either use a jtag connection or just swap out the bios/bootloader chip. Id bet a years wage theres nothing they can do over usb.
In short if u have flashed a tmob rom on a standard hd2 or vice versa your device is ****ed.

actually I'm pretty sure the tmous roms will work on normal hd2, after all, every cooked rom that unlocks the 576 ram is based on the leaked tmous roms.
anyone confirm for me please?

I can't confirm, but that's what I always thought as well
So much for it being impossible to brick an HPSL flashed HD2!
If the bootloader isn't loading at all, you have absolutely no hope of restoring your device via USB and if the bootloader isn't loading, you wont be able to restore it from SD either. The device needs to be responding to USB commands for it to be flashed via USB. Does the PC detect the device at all when it is plugged in?
I am not familliar with the internal archetecture of these devices, but if the bootloader is stored in a dedicated chip, you can theoretically boot the device with another bootloader chip, then hot swap the chip to your dead one and reflash the device, but this of course relies on the chip actually being plugable and not soldered to the motehrboard which I highly doubt would be the case. I have done this successfully on computer motherboards when I have farked the BIOS with a bad flash, but those chips are PLCC plug type chips so they are easy to hot swap.
The only other option is to reflash the chip via a JTAG connection, but this would have to be done by HTC or a service center with the appropriate equipment.

i cant seem to find any information on doing hspl on it since everytime i look up that spl, it shows up as radar but i have a titan?
that isnt really my main concern... mine is the fact that i cant even tether with this unlocked/unbranded htc phone..... it complains about AT&T tether plan...
then it complains about some conection error about phone cant connect to the internet when it is on zune and i cant use the zune pass
held volumn up and boot phone
have a red LED blinking but no display

To get into bootloader mode you must hold down both volume down and volume up simultaneously and while you're doing it, hit the power button until you see the white screen, continue to hold down volume up/volume down but let go of the power button.
here is the screen inside bootloader

Your device model number is the HTC Titan x310e. You will note all we folks with the AT&T HTC Titan in the United States have the "x310a". If you're overseas somewhere other than the US and Canada, I believe you're going to debrand your device with the Cingular 1.10 ROM where we are required to use the European 1.09 ROM but I'm going to be honest with you and all; I'm not sure. My interpretation of the original debrand post is to debrand your device with the opposite ROM depending on where you from and I have spent more time on the Titan threads in the last 6 weeks than I have since my Motorola z3 and HTC Rhodium days but I'm a math major and no where near the level of expertise of most here including this very thread. It is unknown if the Windows Phone 8 devices will be capable of being unlocked other than the carrier-subsidy unlock; the HTC Titan II to date can't be HSPL so it begs the question if the latter devices will equally be highly improbable. I think those of us who also own the HD2 hope the future HTC Titan III (Zenith) will be what many have achieved in our HD2s.
The bootloader is waaaaaaayyy too old. That's like the first walking days of the Titan, but your OS versions seems to have caught up. In this case, no debranding is necessary as all X310e model are unbranded, you just straight flash HSPL and do a custom rom, or you might even consider going stock, which football has provided, including the latest and official 8773 firmware with 4.6 bootloader.
There have been a couple of reports that WP8 crashes, tinkering/trying to unlock the bootloader, showing a PC-like error upon startup asking for a "recovery disk". The only way to fix this is via warranty.

I wondered whether if the device hardware began as an "x310e" if the debrand was necessary. Our "x310a" devices have to be debrand and made to mimic the "x310e" to successfully HSPL...but no one outside the US has been able to verify this. Over on another thread an individual asked my about his "x310e" and his OSPL is 1.86.160015.3 and I asked him to double check that for me and again he said the same thing. It's my understanding, he's good to go and simply has to flash both the SPL205 and HSPL and that's it.

Honestly, I don't know. If you have successfully HSPL your deice and you're using a custom ROM, not a stock ROM, you should be good to go.

I take it you're using that Titan inside US? If so, then you will need to have a tethering plan with ATT (as I understand with most US carriers, they make you pay to tether). Otherwise if you're on a custom ROM, you can follow the guide in the Titan development forum about unlocking the tether option with ATT.
end up having to do the registry hack to get tethering to work...
this is kind of crap seeing as it is an unbranded/unlocked device which is still affected by AT&T's tethering limitation.... for example, the Lumia 800 isn't faced with this issue. Perhaps it may be time to switch to tmobile soon..
