NEW Samsung Ultimate kernel Cleaning Script ICS 2.6.5 6/06/2012 - Galaxy S II Android Development

Samsung Ultimate Kernel Cleaning Script ICS
WHAT UKC DOES
The script cleans the left over files of a kernel, to prevent issues or compatibility problems when switching between kernels, kinda like Ccleaner for windows.
It does a cache wipe / dalvik cache wipe and a few other operations, basically it does the maintenance job for you, no need to manually do those tasks before flashing a new kernel.

Thanks,

its for a clean install of a kernel

In synopsis of a lay man - it removes all scripts or modifications left by the previous kernel, restoring all to default in order to flash a fresh kernel.

About time we get this on the GS2, I remember using kernal cleaning scripts on the GS1 and it did wonders..
Great to see this and thanks o.p..

Euhm this is a major improvement for me! I had alway worse batterylife then others here. I logged out of latitude, kept an eye on my wakelocks etc.
I also noticed that my top wastes of battery went to ANDROID-SYSTEM. Never exactly knew why.
I used many roms and many different kernels!!!
Since I used this and reflashed the kernel (speedmod or siyah v2.2i) Android system changed from 60% to 7% and 5%.
To all: try this and reflash and please report back!
Thanks for this script!

[Q] Some Questions About MIUI...

I'm having FCs in some parts of the "Settings" like, changing volume, Display brightness..
Can I use any other kernel to under volt CPU ?. XXLPH kernel doesn't let me.. Keep in mind that, this is an ICS base & some people say that Siyah & Redpill kernel doesn't work on MIUI ICS ROM..
I'm not getting any updates through OTA "Updater". It checks for updates & nothing happens. There's a new version of MIUI 2.3.23, but can't update. Shows 2.3.16..
Any solutions for these ???
Thanks..

That's not going to do anything as it's a problem with the ROM.
Update to the latest Galnet version, I heard its fixed quite a few FC's.

I think it's the ROM's fault. Still, I'll try the procedure... Thanks...
What about a supported kernel for Undervolting & the OTA updater issue ???
1) Supported kernel for undervolting - ask Miui. Kernel makers aren't going to change their kernels purely to support Miui. Miui has to change the baseband they're currently using to work with the kernels.
2) OTA updater issue - Rom issue, refer to 1 (ask Miui).

How To Use Multiboot:
With v1.6 of DM Kernel for ICS, I introduce multiboot feature.
It is similar to the nandroid backup and restore function, but with a new menu and everything is done automatically
The menu is as follows:
Activate ROM
Backup ROM
Delete ROM
Inside each of this option we have 6 ROMs.
The steps to use Multiboot are as follows:
Install any ROM via the Install via Zip option. (Flash DM Kernel v1.9+)
Backup your ROM at any position as per your wish.
Install another ROM again via the Install via Zip option. (again flash DMv1.9+ and Up)
Backup that ROM at any position as per your wish.
Switch between ROM's using the Activate ROM option ( Backup your ROM each time before switching to another ROM)
Also I will try and automate more features.

How To Switch Between Auto Brightness and Compass on AOSP ROM's:
Thanks to myfluxi, we now have support for Auto Brightness and Compass Mode on AOSP Rom's similar to xxfluxi kernel.
Steps to follow:
1) Download the Sensors.zip file from attachments.
2) Extract the files on sdcard.
3) If you want to have Auto-Brightness, then rename sensors.exynos4.so.os to sensors.exynos4.so
4) If you want to have Compass, then rename sensors.exynos4.so.prop to sensors.exynos4.so
5) Remember, you cannot have both
6) Copy that sensors.exynos4.so file to /system/lib/hw/ and reboot your phone.

wifi problems
Just flashed it on the Foxhound LPF and first thing I can report are the wifi issues.
It is not connecting to my wireless router WRT320N. It is connecting to an Asus 520WL.
Tried it several times, including re-entering the key, but wont connect to it. It doesnt reports any error, it just says Saved and nothing else happens.
Well, thats what happened, using siyah with miui I get no issues, but switching to DK my keyboard acts funny.
Thanks anyway m8

Hi
I have latest MiniCM 9 and naa kernel.

What should i do to fix it without losing my data?
If i can do something through linux i'll do it.

Reflash your ROM without a data-wipe. Supercharger changes system-values, not user-data, so reflashing the ROM should give you the default values again and enable you to boot.
And will i have all my actual settings ?

You should have, not sure about all your preferences, but your user-data should still be present.
If you want to make sure, do a backup with CWM, reflash the ROM, and if some of your data is gone, do an advanced restore, and choose only data.

That's the question because all the roms based in CMX10 have CWM recovery. Anyway thank you very much Fera for your work, I'm gonna test it un your v23 right now :fingers-crossed:
Cm10? Hmm lets read the OP.... Yes! Feravolt wrote that it's should work on alle ROMS, so yes: it should work on CM10 too
Great that you'll look into this,Feravolt!
I'm on Cm10 right now, with your 1.7v kernel. We need xRecovery (like you wrote), but 1.7 has CWM.
We could do it manually (copy file an do some term commands)
Or can you provideus a cwm package?

Thanx Superman, but can you be more specific?
What ROM and kernel?
What are your settings (min/max, i/o)
More smooth than what? (clean ROM, Seeder, CrossBreeder, ?)
What is it that you find to be more smooth? (Apps starts faster, data in app loads afster, switching apps, screen response, etc.)
I really like to know the benefit you're experiencing.
Thank you,

Just uninstall the seeder apk (if you using seeder apk) or manual delete seeder in init.d (system/etc/init.d) folder and rngd binary in system/xbin if you are using rngd binary that was provided by Ferakernel V3.6 Stock GB.

Just to clarify, this zip doesn't work for locked bootloaders right? becase locked bootloaders restrict flashing kernel? Using FeraLab Marvel v22 upgrading to v23 soon
