[Q] Sound - Motorola Droid X2

I'm having an issue with my music not playing. I went into my volume controls, where I can adjust, individually the volume for either media, alarm and notifications. When you hold and drag the bar, either volume up or down, wherever you stop you are given an example as to how loud it will be at this setting. For both notification and alarm I am give example. When I hold and drag the media bar, no matter where I stop, I don't get an example. Ive tried to play the music I was listening to this morning and my player would not makes sounds but the counter for the length of the song was advancing. I downloaded another media player in hopes that it was just the stock I had but that didn't work either. What can cause this issue and any ideas on what I can do to fix this issue??

definitely haven't heard this issue before...
can we get some more information on what you've tried to fix it? what had you done before it stopped playing media sounds?
do you still hear ringtones/alarms etc...? (when receiving a call)
are u on any rom? rooted? any mods/tweaks/hacks?
do you gear music if you plug headphones in?
did u try clearing data on music app? or clearing cache partition from stock recovery?
last resort may be to try a factory data reset either from recovery or maybe setting menu...

Yes, my is phone rooted with one click rooring but have not ben able to complete the recovery so I haven't done much. The rooting thing is new to me. My bf told me about in sept and I decided to try it out about a week ago. I have uninstalled the stock media player and I downloaded google media player thinking and hoping it was just my player. Even with the new one I still can't hear any music. I can fast my phone ring and if someone texts me I hear that tone as well. This issue started last night and I'm stumped on what else I'm can do.

at this point it really depends on if you are worried about losing your user data...
u know....messages etc....
BUT since you are still stock you might have some luck by flashing a rom...
when flashing a rom you need to wipe data/cache from system recovery app
private message me or join me on an irc channel and I will happily walk you through installing the bootstrap app to be able to flash a rom. will also help ya put in creating the backup before flashing anything in case you want to get back...
---------- Post added at 10:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:55 PM ----------
oh yeah
u DON'T necessarily have to.flash a rom
wiping data from stock recovery may help ya
u.will just.lose all texts, apps, app data, contacts(until u restore using backup assistant if u use it)
it is EASY to do...
but try a cache wipe first
u wont.lose ANY data with a cache wipe...
let me know if u need details how...very easy

glad all is well again

How do I do that?

press edit button(on your first post here )
if using the xda app long.press ur original post(a.k.a OP) And select edit.
then just add that word to the title you.originally put

I dont know how....

browse to the top of this page in your browser, to your initial post, and click edit in the right corner of the box. then add [SOLVED] to the title and click save, you may have to go into advanced edit.
from the XDA app as ASH said long click your initial question and choose edit

u could also always go to xda-developer.com using your X2 browser and navigate to your list here.
99%of my posts here are done using stock browser...works just fine...
after u press edit in your original post for this thread u will be able to add/delete from the title/subject....just add solved and press save

Weird Sound - Please see the video

Hi Guys,
I have made an youtube video which shows the weird sound i get when ever a sms message arrives, when ever i browse the sms message thread and when ever i send out or delete the message. I am using Cognition rom rc2 here is the link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_v693MX95-E Any suggestion is welcome. Thanks in advance.
I could be wrong but a lot of problems come from people installing rom and addons on top of each other. Always wipe data cache dalvik cache format system and anything else in came that clears old. Yes you have to reinstall and redo settings. Let us know if it works then. If not then use your warranty
I love auto correct cwm or came I don't know which never mind what I had to fix

[Q] beastMOD 2.0.0 & Quiksense 2.0.0 help/questions/issues?

ok first of all i would like to say i am some what new to this whole rooting your phone thing. i KNOW how to use the search button and i have read all that i can read so far...with that said. this is pertaining to the users with either the beastmod 2.0.0 or quiksense 2.0.0
i have rooted my phone, i have unlocked my bootloader, so far ive tried the beastmod 2.0.0 and it seems nice and all but is anyone else having the issue where its not detecting music on your SD card unless you have to manually transfer it over into your phones internal memory? basically what im asking is that is anyone else having troubles with the files and programs kind of "going together" if you know what i mean.. it seems like the SD card and the rom itself wont put things in the right place
now with the quiksense 2.0.0 is anyone else experiencing freezing and then it seems like it reboots itself again?
with that said which rom is more stable in the long run? and which rom free's up more ram? better battery life? faster performance? less glitchy over all...thanks guys.
still experiences random signal drops where it seems like the phone rebooted itself and i see the HTC quality start up white screen. any one else with the same problems or found a solution? thanks
My phone drops wifi and 4g once in awhile for no reason. Airplane mode or reboot to get it back on Quick Sense.
i flashed the new qs 2.0, the rom worked fine but my wifi would not work with it. Also my tethering was out. After using the recovery, i'm back to 1.5.1. and the wifi is working fine. I did a wipe. Anyone else have this problem?

Video recording FC while you are recording or it happened when you hit stop?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20150977&postcount=1056
when I hit stop but I saw on the forum xboarder will fix that on the next release. so all good..
still having that problem with TTS though, when I go into setting for text-to-speech is says "TTS stopped unexpectedly"...i installed SVOX before and then uninstalled it.. wonder if that's the issue.
the notifications pulldown is also too transparent, makes it hard to see, anyone know a way to change that?
mms is also not working getting a small picture when recieving.

I had an issue with not being able to send MMS. Fixed it by going to settings=>wireless & networks => mobile networks=>access point names, tap menu, click reset to default. Then select the profile again. If still doesn't work, try going to manage applications => messages => clear data. Note, you'll lose your sms. so backup if you wanna keep them.

yes, you have to flash the kernel first then wipe and install.. search the quicksense thread, Xboarder has a step-by-step, its easy.

Also, do not flash the CRT-enabler on the QS 2.0, after i did that the phone kept restarting by itself..
thanks for the response. problem is not being able to send mms or receiving, but when I receive the picture is small. hmm
I just flashed to QS2.0.1, camera FC fixed but i'm still getting TTS service FC when i goto text-to-speech settings..

yes please fix that problem, i love this rom, i was originally going with beastmod but couldnt stand that the gallery/music section wasnt as convenient as stock. and the whole unlock to answer thing was getting to me. i have no issues with QS 2.0 besides the small SMS pics as of right now and the occasional phone restarting.
also is it just me or is anyone else having the issues of when u tap to type the keyboard takes a while to pop up. doesnt happen all the times. just sometimes. thanks.

Hey X, your the man- nuff said.
But i have a small question, and im sorry i have to post it here. (since i cant post on development until i get 10 post <- lol)
I installed 2.0.1...also updated kernel
BUT
I noticed an H instead of 4g? and it switches from H to 3g constantly.
Not only that, but i notice that when using the data, it shows (the data arrow up) that the phone is trying to UPLOAD date, but it doesn't get a download arrow that faces down that receives. It takes some times for the data to come back in when it does this.
I'm on full bars in an area where reception is "amazing"
ANy ideas?

Enormous problem with playing music

Hi,
I am the proud owner of the HTC One X+ since March. And in the last couple of weeks I have a big problem with my audio.
I like to listen to music, but now it is impossible. This problem only occurs with headphones in. I have tried different headphones as well that I have tried different musicplayers. I have rebooted many times. Tried to listen with Wifi on/off etc...
The problem:
When I listen to music its randomly stops, goes to the next song, fastforward and he even goes to Google Voice and he randomly calls people in my contacts list when I am listening to music. Is there any kind of solution? I have tried everything with my little knowledge. Hopefully has someone the solution to this irritating problem...

Is your cell rooted? Which rom are you running? better factory reset your fone. its a Software issue from what i see..
I agree - its very rude of Google Voice to call people in a random order. At least, it should be alphabetical.....
1. You could try "Clear Data" for the music app and Google voice
2. You could install TWRP in place of the stock recovery. This will enable you to do 3 and 4 below (you can do it with a stock recovery too, but its easier with twrp. TWRP will also allow you to take a full backup of your phone)
3. You could try wiping the cache and dalvik cache
4. You could try booting into recovery and doing a factory reset. You will lose all apps and all data, so make sure you backup your calls/SMS/music/pics/documents etc.
5. If you have come here, then you could try rooting your phone and flashing a custom ROM

I made a mess, cant see calls incoming anymore

I hide the notification of incallUI during a call and now i cant answer the phone cause it doesnt appear the screen to answer, what should i do except a factory reset?
You can go into the phone app notifications and enable it again, also if you're using MIUI you have to enable to show on lock screen on the special permissions on the app info...
Also make sure you have your Default Phone app is set to Google Phone or whatever Dialer you are using, set it again and reboot, you should be good.

Hello,
To solve this go to TWRP. Locate a folder named Package_cache inside etc or system or data. I forgot the exact location. But it should be there.
Delete this folder and reboot to system. That's it.. you will get the cache created again and will be able to see the UI in call. You need not to wait for incoming calls. Even you can dial somebody to check.
Hit thanks if it helps you. Cheers

Actually it worked for me 3 to 4 times (all the times I tried). Not sure why it didn't work for you. It should be.
Any way thanks for keeping posted. Hope a resolution for your issue arrives soon. Thanks
If you are using poco f1... this worked for me...
just update the phone app in play store... then go in app settings and clear cache... restart your device again go in phone apps app info then choose default calling app as phone (google's default phone app)... and boom it worked...

Low volume on notifications

Hello everyone,my Mi 10 has very low volume on notifications (calls, notifications, alarms) although I've set it to max..Its too low sometimes i miss calls or messages..anyone else with the same problems?or any solution?
Try a louder ring tone? Have you cleaned the speakers recently? Could be anything.
I've tried everything, louder ringtone, I've played a video from YouTube for cleaning speakers but it's not the speaker its something from the ui because when i see a video from YouTube or gallery its so loud that i have to lower the volume...its like the system volume its low...
Access developer settings and activate "disable absolute volume control".
I have a niggling feeling that'll be it..

Thank you very much for your help, unfortunately can't find this settings in developer options..maybe they delete it in miui12... :/
The option is there. I have it myself. You need to scroll down a bit.
Nope can't find it... I'll attach a screenshot of my developer options
I don't have that option either. I'm on Global 12.2.1.0 Stable
I concur, it's definitely not there. In older versions it was the first option under the USB section, should have been under Bluetooth as in other phones..
Odd. Very odd. Obviously you've tried setting a known high volume ringtone as a notification and had the same low volume results? The only suggestion I have at the moment is to clear the cache of all apps and reboot.. See if it persists..
Yes...the same sound playing from music app its very loud...when i set it for call/sms/notification its very very low... :/ You suggesting to wipe everything from the boot screen?
If you are on stock rom you can wipe the cache from the security app or via fastboot.
If you are on custom rom you can either download an app to do it or do it via fastboot.
DO NOT WIPE ANYTHING ELSE. ONLY WIPE CACHE.

No im on stock rom,if i wipe the cache I'll loose data from all apps?
Edit:
Sorry for my mistake about loosing data,i cleaned the cache through security app did reboot but nothing...its clearly a bug because its only in system sounds that are low,as i said when playing the ringtone through music app is clearly louder...anyway thanks a lot @shivadow
In all honesty being on a custom rom is probably 99% of the problem. You can always investigate adjusting volume files in root, if at all possible. Some are, some aren't.

Hi try this app, This might work for you.
It will increase ringtone volume to 100% before receiving normal call.
P.S tested on galaxy devices.

Your friend faced the same issue?maybe something goes wrong when you do factory reset because my phone was like yours,i bought it 4 months old and did factory reset...Anyway,the only solution that I've settled is using an app from playstore "volume booster-speaker booster & Sound booster" and ot works for me,if you download the same app every now and then open it and exit because the system stops it..!(for example if you clear the recent apps from the tab)
