Does anyone have original Droid X2 build.prop? - Motorola Droid X2

I would like to eliminate any possible issues with new build.prop so I would like to restore original build.prop to see whether problem goes away with one of my applications.
Thanks.

U don't need to get it from sbf file
---------- Post added at 11:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:00 PM ----------
Here http://www.multiupload.com/XZBB0E58Q6
Download that STOCK 2.3.4 Deoedexed rom
the build.prop is the SAME EXACT one from stock 2.3.4
(This is what motcher was talking about)
Just go into the zip and extract build.prop from /system
And then put it into ur /system after deleting or changing to build.prop.bak the one u have already.
Make sure u fix permission to rw-r--r-- before rebooting
Extraction from sbf file is gonna be a big.pain in the ass to end up wit that SAME EXACT file

Just downloaded the Dodexed .zip file and there is no build.prop file in there.

I will have to download and check.((gotta wait til im at work on wifi tho)
I have a nandroid I can do to bring up stock build.prop also(as im sure others do too.)
If u have a stock nandroid then just make a nandroid now.
Them restore the stock.
Copy build.prop to ur sdcard
Restore current setup
then push it in

Hey ash that file only contains system/app and system/framework and is not a complete rom build. You are right on about restoring a stock backup, use a file explorer to extract the build.prop

Yea I noticed lol
I went to look in it and was surprised to see no build.prop.
O well
The nandroid /copy build.prop is gonna be the way to go to get what's needed here

[HOW TO] CRT-Effect only

This is just the plain CRT effect. No custom roms, no pre-made files or anything. (You need root)
I've searched for this on XDA, Google, other forums etc. but I couldn't find it.
It always showed up ROMs including this feature, not the actual feature itself
DO A BACKUP BEFORE EDITING ANY FILES!
Also, you need root
1. Pull framework-res.apk from the /system/framework/ folder via ADB (Alternate way below*)
2. Decompile framework-res.apk with APKTool/APK Manager (Whatever you prefer..)
3. Navigate to /res/values/ and open the bools.xml file with Notepad++ (Notepad works too )
4. Search for "config_animateScreenLights" and change the "true" to "false".
5. Save, and compile the file. Open the fresh-compiled file and copy resources.arsc to the original apk. (Overwrite the existing one)
Click to collapse
Transfer the framework-res.apk file back to your phone, and then switch it with the original one
You must reboot to make it work!
*If you don't know how to push/pull files via adb, you can use Root Explorer and copy it to the /sdcard/ folder, then transfer it to your PC.
If you switch it back with root explorer, programs will start to force close. Just reboot and you'll be fine

Would you like to explain step 5 a bit further? I'm a bit confused. I'm using apk manager and it asks me a bunch of things and you don't tell me where to overwrite the arsc-file, etc.

Ah, so sorry.
Open the original framework-res with WinRar. And do the same with the modified. In there you'll see the resources.arsc file
If you don't know how to use APK Manager, use google.

I read your thread, and know what you posted.
What I'm saying is that if someone makes the anim for example KF3, it would only take a few seconds to upload so other people could use, while diy CRT anim takes at least 5 mins even if you know what you're doing.

Code:

I followed the instructions ... and used APK Manager, I complied, signed, and before i quit it asked me to delete a file...resources.arsc
do i have to do that?
also, i noticed the APK Manager made signed apk of less size as compared to original file
original apk file size = 8.05 mb
complied, signed apk = 5.16 mb
is that normal?

First download the latest Motorola Droid CM7 release, this is not for the Droid X2 but it's the closest thing to it.
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/get/update-cm-7.0.3-Droid-signed.zip
Next extract the files from the zip and locate the ones you want to use.
Make a back-up of the ones you have.
Place the new files in /system/app using whatever method you want.
CHMOD the files you placed as rw-r--r-- (644)
Reboot or SYNC

Someone with mini have to help you. But since no one replying, and to save your time from searching all over the web;
To know which apk that has been modified, open the mod that you have applied using archive apps (winrar should do if you are in windows) and see what apk is inside (generally it should be framework-res.apk and/or SystemUI.apk)
To revert back, one of the way is to extract that apk from stock fw file, copy to your /system/ then change permission rw-r--r-- (if you dont know what it means, just refer to any apk inside /system/app/ permission's, they are all the same generally for /system/app/ and /system/framework/ ). Then, move it to appropiate folder replacing the current file (SystemUI.apk into /system/app/ for example. Better to replace systemui.apk first before framework-res.apk to avoid unexpected fc in the process)
Once done, reboot.
Other ways, ask anyone to make cwm compatible zip file for you to revert back to original or wait for someone to post the apk's here for you.
Thats a very good lessons actually, do a backup first before doing/modifying anything. Dont just simply flash any zip file, see first whats inside, backup whatever files that is affected by that zip to your sdcard is the fastest way (but not 100% reliable compare to make a backup in cwm.
Anyhow, good luck. cheers fren.

Force closes in system after updating one file in framework-res

Hi
I have this problem with my friends galaxy ace GT-S5839i:
I need someone to help me here because I don't know what to do
I pulled the file framework-res.apk from system and then changed the extension to zip, and changed an image inside one of the folders.
After that I zipped the pack again (tried several zip options) and changed the extension back to apk
My first question: Is this ok?
I copied the changed file to sdcard and using es explorer moved the file to system/framework. Imediately After answering if I wanted to overwrite the phone freezes and never booted again.
I restored the rom and tried several times with same result
I tought the problem would be trying to overwrite a file that's in use but then I found a tool the decompiled the original apk, changed the image, compiled and signed it and made a flashable zip of it.
It gsve always error in trying to flash this on recovery so I extrated the compiled and signed new framwork apk and moved it to system with es explorer... The difference now is that it didn't froze the phone but started to show fc's everywhere. Rebooted, wipede cash and dalvik, messed up woth permissions... Everything I could think of and the result os always tbe same...
Please can amyone share a light here?
Thanks

Edit: Nothing I found there worked...
The only solution was install a different rom (previously had a stock rooted 2.3.6) v4.1

Its working now but still don't know why the previous actions didn't work

[MOD] Moderate volume boost

Just threw this together. The sounds on the S5 is as low as it was on the S4. Here is just a moderate sound boost. I haven't ran into any issues with it yet, so if you find any let me know. Just replace the file /system/etc/mixer_paths.xml with this file (mixer_paths.xml)....

Are you rooted? What file manager do you use? This is how I put this in place.
I use ES File Explorer on my S5 as file explorer. I placed the attached file (after extracted, the file is mixer_paths.xml) in my Download folder. I then copied the file with ES File Explorer and navigated to the folder /system/etc. I then renamed the existing mixer_paths.xml to mixer_paths.xml.bak (just to have a backup of the original so i could revert back if i wanted to) and copied the new file into that folder. i then verified the properties were correct (rw- r-- r--) and then rebooted the phone. test it out by playing a song before replacing the file and then test again after the file is replaced and phone is rebooted.
