He actually stated that for alpha 3.0 version so it doesn't mean anything. It's just there to prevent people from telling him, "HEY MANNN DO U NOE ICE CREAM SAND WICH IS OUT????!1 WORK ON IT PLZ"

easiest way to keep up-to-date on CM development for TP

I'mm running it now, upgrade went fine and everything seems to be running ok.

trying this on my tablet and the xron on my wifes.. curious to see how it ends up.. LOL
---------- Post added at 11:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:59 PM ----------
had 2 random reboots when i was trying to adjust the wifi.. odd

I'd be willing to bet ICS will come eventually (keyword there though, eventually). The hardest part of getting many ports running is often the camera and GPS, and obviously nobody with touchpads cares about either of those. Considering how well CM7 runs I think we'll see ICS in a few months

as you wait i believe most are enjoying the amazing work that is being put out both the update on the 3.5 -- and xron -- and even newly made miui is gettin raves.. so have fun waiting
#imjustsaying
solid 3.5 and xron work =)

So far, amazing. 3d performance is improved (again), and wifi seems fine. No reason not to upgrade if you ask me...

shy speaker error: music is playing then screen-off

Does wifi connect automatically after a reboot?

so far no.. well not for me
go to wifi settings click on the one its supose to be connecting to..
once popup comes select forget.. shut off wifi for 30 seconds and thhen turn it back on.
find the wifi router u r looking for and insert password u should connect again

Significant improvement on gta 3 play.
Had 3.0 alpha and grand theft auto was kinda choppy, updated to 3.5 and WOW it plays so smooth. Big thanks to all who work on this.

I got it running with no problems so far.

Is anyone else getting intermittent wifi disconnects? Only way to fix it is to physically turn off wifi and turn it back on...anyone?
Sent from my Touchpad using xda premium

I have a major problem with the update and suggest not using it until the problem is resolved.
I installed first on my 32gb which was running 3.0. After the install I noticed a message that my sd card was unmounted. I tried various fixes with no success. In web os, all files show up fine. In CM7, nothing shows up when I try to connect the TP to my computer.
Being rather foolish, I decided to try the upgrade on my 16gb to see if there was a quirk on my 32 gb or if there was a problem with 3.5 upgrade.
Sadly, I now have two TPs saying the sd card is not mounted.

Should I install Alpha 3 or wait for the stable version?

So I've had my HP Touchpad since August, idly sitting on my shelf collecting dust. I'm so eager to get Android running on it asap.
My question to fellow Android and Touchpad users is whether I should go ahead and install Alpha 3 or wait for the stable version? And if I do install the Alpha, will I be able to update it to the stable one if and when it releases?

I had Install the Alpha 3 on my HP Touch pad. I would say it's very slow compare to Alpha 2 and I had lot's of FC on it. I went on and Install the XRON 1.3 which is very fast and clean you should Install that one you will be happy trust me. If I have help you plz don't forget to press Thank you.

I installed cm7, and then xRonified over that. I've had no problems, except self-induced ones. . CyanogenMod is working on ICS and won't update Cm7 any longer. xronified, now at vB1. 3 has been stable for me when I'm using android.
My use webos/android is about 65/35. Dual booting is great!!
I dont think we'll even see a "stable" one soon, it will probably come with the ICS port and that's not even in our hands yet.
Go ahead and install Alpha 3 or the latest Xron Rom, most, if not all Android features work properly, except that Gingerbread is really unwieldy on a 10 inch device and is not suited for tablets.
It works well enough for most functions and apps though
Well I would recommend messing around with WebOS and loading preware on it. It won't bite, I promise
If you're familiar with *nix then there is a full terminal and all. It's pretty versatile, and after the system updates it runs pretty smooth. Plus with HP making it open source, there will hopefully be some nice WebOS based ROMS on the horizon as well.
I'm holding out for a good Android ROM as well. But WebOS isn't bad to tide you over for a while either

Agreed. ICS will not be out for a while, and from what I've been told, it'll be flakey once we do get it. Install Alpha3 or Xron, and start playing with it.
You have nothing to lose by installing it and if you don't like it in its current state you can always remove it.
I recommend the xron ROM, its more polished and quite frankly I have no real issues to speak of, everything basically works...like someone else said though running gingerbread on a tablet has its shortcomings but nothing a little tweaking does't help remedy

I have played around with the WebOS when I first got it but found it lacking a lot of things - mainly apps - if you mean preware. I loved how smooth things were though.
I think I will go ahead and install xron since its getting positive reviews. Thanks for the input from everyone!
Sent via Tapatalk on my *voided* Evo running CM 7.1.0
I second the Xron recommendation. It's good enough that most people won't have problems with it.
I also recommend trying out Task Changer from the market to get some swipe to task switch action on Android.
Running Alpha 3 and no issues except occasional WiFi. Thinking about XRON but not sure if we can move from Alpha 3 to XRON and still keep the apps, games & settings done in Alpha 3 though. Any suggestions?
So apparently after reading a lot of sites, I have to install Alpha 3 and then install Xron on top of that. Grr for more work!

So pretty much I can install Xron on top of my current Alpha 3 and retain all my current data?
The only issue I am seeing right now is that when i plug a pair of headphones on the device the sound cuts off. Not sure if this is due to the Rom or a hardware issue with my device (Refurb from the ebay sale).

TF201 CM9 Nightly Available

CM9 Nightly for Prime now available...has anyone tried this yet? I'm tempted to give it a whirl, but may wait for braver souls to give it a try first and report their findings...
http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=tf201
All the d/l links on the page http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=tf201 seem to be broken atm
you're right...didn't try that before posting that it was available. With the recent announcements of nightlies being available for other devices, probably just a matter of time before they get to us
Old news... been up for well over a month now.
Sent from my CM7 Atrix 4G
The date of the new build is for the 29th, its 12.33am on the 30th here in Australia. I hope they merged the 4.0.4 AOSP code into it.
I'll be back in 8 hours after a snooze, it would be sweet if the links were fixed by then. I've been hanging for cm to update the tf201 nightlies. The one before yesterdays was just under a month ago..

All I am hoping for is that the keyboard dock at least works. Like, no soft keyboard pops up on dock use. If it has that, I have a new DD for my TF201.

[Edit] this begins running at 1.2ghz. using the cpu_overclock.bin from the TFP AOKP section by Jermaine cranks it up to 1.6...aaaand now it's perfect...really running great so far. minor market issues with compatibility but that's about all I can find. anything to look out for/test??

are you rooted, unlocked and running the latest CWM recovery?
if so, take my first post, fill in the gaps for the link to the direct CM server, download the rom. transfer rom and latest ICS gapps (3/17) to your internal storage. boot into recovery, wipe, flash.
These seem to be working.

Its been decided that we won't use Cornerstone for the foreseeable future. The underlying implementation is not flexible and needs a lot of work.
It is 4.0.4. I forgot to get GAPPS before flashing, so Im downloading that now. It looks to be very AOSP right now. Will update in a minute
Edit- Having a issue with WiFi. I set it up and it works fine. I restart the tablet and it cannot connect and is stuck at "Turning on Wireless". Rebooting again has no effect. Toggling Airplane mode also has no effect.
Edit 2- Dock is working like it does with the AOKP- volume, lock, media, back button, and browser work, the other shortcut keys dont. It charges from the dock. Cameras work fine. Brightness works, but no IPS switch (duh). Overall, very promising! I hope the nightlies continue!

[ROM][VIEW][GB] DeSensed-View GB Edition- V1 - 4/24/2012 (NO longer supported)

You must already be on GB and have recovery installed. If you are on HC you must follow the directions in the forum on how to downgrade to GB
Use kevinrocksman's awesome tool to get to HC from GB(or downgrade from HC to GB, and many other convenient tools). He makes it easy for you
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1418258
This is a preview release of my DeSensed-View rom. This is WIP and this is the first preview release
Features:
Based off the Stock GB rom for the View
Lovethyevo's custom OC kernel. Thread found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1401112
deodexed
rooted
busybox
zipaligned
init.d support
ADW Launcher
Stock GB Bootanimation
Stock Calculator
Stock GB Browser
Stock GB Email App
A lot of the sense/htc apps and launcher removed
sprint bloat removed
Stock GB KB
Advanced power menus
Stock GB style status bar and icons
Stock GB lockscreen
maybe some other stuff I'm forgetting... lol
system rw at boot
phone.apk, telephony and hands free activation removed (radios disabled) I will released a 3g/4g enabler soon
Issues
You tell me.. test and let me know what's jacked up
When going through setup wizard and trying to select time zone it will FC. This is because the radios are disabled and it uses them to auto set your time zone. Just keep pressing next through set up and once it's finished you can go into settings and change it.
Maps might force close once or twice until you set up wifi
I have included the KB from CM7 but the keys are pretty small so I also included the GB KB,, the keys are small as well but you can make them bigger in settings
I am not responsible if you flash this and you brick your ****
DO NOT FLASH IF YOU ARE ON HONEYCOMB.. Follow the threads in the forum to learn how to downgrade to GB and get/keep s-off
Download Link: v 1
WIFI ONLY: http://goo.im/devs/graffixnyc/HTC_Evo_View/DeSensedViewGBv1.zip

mirror: http://d-h.st/1vm
Installation Instructions:

A few people have PM'ed me asking about donating. Well, I dont/wont ever ask for donations and honestly I prefer to NOT get donations. I do this work first and for most for me(Yeah I'm a selfish bastard) so I can learn more, so I can make my device the way I want my device, I just decide to share what I make for myself instead of keeping it for myself (I'm selfish, not greedy) and I feel if people start donating they might get more demanding and feel more entitled so I'd rather just skip all of that potential drama. When it comes to requesting things in this rom, I will put them in IF it's something I would use myself. If it's not, then I most likely wont add it. So please dont donate to me, If you want to do some good instead of donating to me, donate to a worthy charity instead! Thank you all for using my rom!
Awesome!

Well, as much as I hate having to go back to an older version, I don't like HC very much, so I will definitely try this ROM out.

So while I have the rom deodexing(it takes a while) I've been playing with the stock rom, deleteing crap and seeing what will break, also trying to add in some AOSP elements... that way when it is deodexing then I know exactly what I can remove and/or replace
removed a ****load of bloat and useless htc apps
rosie is gone, all the rosie widgets are gone, I have the free version of ADW, Stock GB browser and 3D Gallery all working, the stock calculator is working, GB KB included, The stock Calendar, contacts, camera or mms didnt work but I can try to tinker with them later
but the biggest one so far is I got rid of the Sense lock screen and have the stock GB one So much easier to do on GB than HC!
I might have a preview release up in a few hours
pretty cool man. but i think it would probably be pretty easy to actually build cm7 for the view. I believe the flyer has it going.

pretty easy if you know how to kernel dev without a kernel dev porting the flyer CM7 kernel over or creating a new one we wont get anything AOSP The View only has a couple devs and zero kernel devs which means we are up ****s creek without a paddle for the time being

I asked the guy who did the Flyer CM rom to throw us Viewers a bone and port his Flyer version to the View. He said he might make it a weekend project but not promising anything.
If interested run over to his thread and pm the dev (very nicely) that you heard a rumor he might consider doing a View port and you just wanted to support the idea.
Maybe a little future fan influence will motivate him

Also check out the Q & A thread. There is a Chinese GB RUU out that has full pen support for the Flyer. May be some goodies to grab there.

Posted a preview release.. let me know what issues you guys find..
I noticed the market wasnt updating to the Play Store.. I'll include the updated APK in the next release but until then you can just install this and it will overwrite the market with playstore. No need to push it, just install it like you would any side loaded apk
http://d-h.st/aQQ
Another issue I found was sometimes the unlock slider disappears when you wake the device (just the left one though) but if you swipe as if it was there it unlocks. I'll have to look into that

Sounds great I may hold off on testing until it's done. Just hard bricked my E4GT this morning and I'm a bit gun shy.
Never hard bricked a phone before. Accidentally flashed an AOSP ICS rom over an ICS kernel. Apparently this is huge no no. Complete blue light of death hard brick. Thank god for insurance.
Just installed. Testing now. I'll edit in problems as necessary.
First thing I noticed is that the Setup Wizard force closes if I try to change the time settings. I can change the time settings just fine through the regular settings, though.
The keyboard wouldn't pop up at first for whatever reason. A reboot fixed it, though.
In the settings, the right side of the check boxes are cut off.
Also, the mobile signal level icon still shows up, even though I downloaded the WiFi only ROM. I'm guessing this is just an issue with theming for now, though.

The first issue I mentioned in the OP. The keyboard popped up fine for me the first time. The check boxes I noticed and will look into. And the signal meter will always be there even if its just wifi. But you'll see its a empty signal. The only difference is hc puts a red x through it.

You don't have to be shy. I've been running it since last night and there are no huge major bugs that are show stoppers. Every rom has issues and is never perfect. But even though its a preview release its pretty stable except for the few mentioned small issues.

Agreed. So far, it's definitely smooth, and just has those minor issues. I think this will do just fine until we get ICS (though I'll go over to an AOSP GB ROM if we get one). I like it better than Honeycomb already, even if it is an older system.

Jelly Bean Talk

So as we all know, we now have Jelly Bean. And to not flood dragonzkillers thread with general talk about it, I thought I'd start a thread for people to come and say what they like, what they dont like, and tips and tricks they might have, cool settings in the ROM, etc. Any issues should still be posted in the other thread.
But let me go ahead and start by saying I am so amazed at how smooth and fast jelly bean is on our phone. I never thought it would run better than ICS. The built in quick reply for messaging is awesome. I actually find a lot of things I used to use getting replaced with the stock apps. The default browser is nice. I have also found that if you use Nova launcher, though, and set the animation speed and scrolling speed to a faster setting, it makes the phone feel even smother.
Anyway, I'm not gonna make this post too long. So thats all I have right now. What does everyone else think?

He'll definitely like CM10 more. A lot more stable. Do you do all his flashing for him? Meaning he's not very tech savvy? If so, there may be things he runs into that you might need to help him with. lol. SD storage is all different and some apps wont install from the play store. After a few days running this ROM I can happily say that it feels like this was made for our phone...as in, it's a perfect fit and feels natural. No random reboots. A couple app freezes but they correct themselves. I've found workarounds to get the apps I needed on the phone.. the Facebook crapp....err, app is glitchy like usual but there's always friendcaster. Love the screen transition animation. Its just amazing all around.
Made a video of my first boot of cm10 for anyone who's hesitant to flash and wants to see how it is.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVDTB4uwM3w&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I'm amazed how well it run. The only issues I have really had is the Facebook app and the Email app (for my work Exchange email) tend to be a little crashy (FB is worse than any others), but I can deal with that to have a phone I can actually use. This is my first ROM on this phone (had many on my OG Droid), but the process isn't as bad as I had anticipated.
Can't wait for him to release Alpha 2 to fix the camera and SD issues.
flashed this and i was amazed at the number of custom options as well as how smooth it actually was. however, i was plagued with having to reSBF, reroot and reflash almost everytime i reboot and i needed my phone today so i sbf'd back to 2.3.5 and restored eclipse.
hopefully alpha 2 is even more stable.

So far I love CM10. I was frequently getting frustrated with how slow my phone felt. I was last running 2.3.4 using Eclipse ROM and my phone would hang everywhere, especially waiting for the keyboard to pop up. Now everything is nice and quick. My only real complaints is that when I try to change the battery state LED options, the field to change the frequency of them is greyed out, and they are all on "always on" and the field is greyed out and I can't change them. I hate having a LED on when I'm sleeping so I had to just turn the whole setting off so now I have no LEDs for battery states.
My other complaint is how fast CM10 sucks down my battery. Under the same conditions that Eclipse on 2.3.4 would get me from morning until 9pm until depleted, my phone keeps dying at 5pm.

you should SBF to 2.3.5, root and try eclipse 2.3 and then supercharge it. makes for an amazing daily. it's what i'm doing now with holo launcher recently added.
Random thought/question. Cm7 was gingerbread.... Cm9 was ICS and 10 is JB... what happened to 8? Meant for HC?

Yeah. CM8 was honeycomb. Not many devices had that though.
Yep, mostly designed for tablets

While team battery life isn't bad, it is definitely worse than eclipse. To be expected I suppose since we have a jb rom running on a gb kernel. My question Houghton, is does Google Now drain team battery? I think it's cool but I would take the longer battery.... Thanks

Really loving JB for the last 4 days. Only 1 problem with it so far... nothing can find my SD card. Well, almost nothing. I can find it in file explorer. Anyone else notice this?

I use Root Explorer. You'll see a folder called "storage", a within it youll find sdcard0 and sdcard1. That's how I access them.

tried a2 cm10 then reverted back to my cm7.2 nandroid
I like how this is going. I used it for about 2 hours then realized Netflix was still a no go and my Andygraph Ti82 calc app wouldn't load the Rom and my saved programs. That was a deal breaker. I might give alpha 3 or beta 1 another shot. Loved it for a short time. The voice call dropping needs to be fixed as well before I can use it as a daily. Reloaded my nandroid of cm 7.2. Everything still works there.

How many using CM10.1 by After_Silence

I can not post on the developer area so After_silence many thanks for your great work!
How many mediapad users using CM? After_silence has told that there are too few users out there using media pad, so he is no longer interested in developing for media pad. how many are we? I myself would love to continue using his excellent CM 10.1 and was eagerly waiting for BT to work on mediapad .

I want to install it but I'm using 301w model device and I'm not sure if it's going to work on it. I'm afraid to install it
I can't post to developer forums because I don't have enough post count so I'm middle of nowhere now.
just follow the steps and walla~ Jelly bean on mediapad!!

Hey I'm using S7303u and cm10.1 works fine, I'm currently working on porting AC!D MOD for all enhanced audio, beats, xloud and clear+, bravia2 to run on media pad, its almost ready just running into storage issues in the system partition, not enough room to fully flash my zip, libs and framework not flashing, causing boot loop, broke zip into two desperate zips, you can install one or the other, works fine, but I need all mods together with settings to manipulate sound. I hope his break isn't two long was really looking forward to new builds, guess I'll try and get Bluetooth working for now
here... also using CM10... tried the CM10.1 for testing... and it is okay... but i am using BT and HOTSPOT so i return back to CM10... also can't reply to the CM10 thread...
so maybe after_silence thought there were only few of us using his FIRMWARE... but if the 10 post LIMIT is not there... he would receive a lot of response... and user feedback...
thanks again... for the nice firmware... still looking forward for the 4.2.2 (CM10.1)...

So if 303u is working on 301u device, is that mean I can use 301u rom's on 301w too? Is that what you mean?

its all the same thing my device is tmo springboard, so of course by using mediapad fw I lose 4g capabilites, but other than that, cm10.1 runs smooth
Happy user
I am running 10.1 happy with it.
Thank you very much.

I use too. And cannot post on developers forum too
But I caught bug: once I could not unlock screen. I pressed power button, screen turned on for a half a second and became off after this...
Then i pressed power button for a long time and pressed it again. Device turned off. After booting all works fine.
agreed, many thanks to the wonderful developers
i'm currently using aokp 30.1 final jb4.1.2, looking forward to bluetooth & most importantly more stable hdmi mirroring on the 4.2.2 nightlies though (so can output & play stuff like playstation emulator there or use with wireless keyboard/mouse as nice media pc on tv)
my device is mediapad s-301u

I kept an eye on it for months, but it never became perfect enough to flash it, and hey, doesnt it have the seal of approval/quality "unofficial".
Now, game over, man.
it seems that he has just release a new cm10.1 rom 20130330
thankyou after_silence for continuing this project silently

awesome. word has it he has got hdmi audio out now but no bluetooth right? well I suppose BT is not a deal breaker. could anyone comment on stability of HDMI out on new release as well as whether it supports external/internal SD swap as AOKP 30.1 Final did? (or perhaps if there is some other work around for it? got a lot of data hungry games)

Where to get the ROM's
Hey guys,
I'm currently running the Stock Springboard + ROOT and loving it. Theres only one problem though: if i fill up my 32GB SD card with music, the machine slow to a halt. I believe this is an OS issue. Does anyone know if the new ROM's take care of this issue? Bluetooth is important to me. I'd prefer everything working: HDMI, 4G, BT & hotspot. Can someone give me some advice and where to get the ROM's and which ones to get?
Cheers,
Zubin
