Adreno 200/OpenGL Es Update - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

It's possible to upgrade or modify the Adreno drivers?
And it's possible to upgrade the OpenGL ES?
I want to know how boost the 3D Grapichs of Galaxy Ace.
Thanks.

If you mean like we do on PC, then NO.

Doesn't Chainfire3D update our OpenGL version ?

Not like it but there is a method to improve gpu performance?
Modding a configuration file or a driver? It's possible?
Personally i think yes.

Well I would think of chainfire as an alternate custom driver which acts as a middlemen "in games". But ya, you can call chainfire a driver but not in complete terms since it's not really an update, it's almost an alternate. Mostly effects only the games and not the general usability.
But hey, that's just me.

So is there anyone know if it's possible to modify or update it? I wait a answer.

If you are asking about the official ones, then nothing like that exists for ace AFAIK. You can always try different scripts and roms though. In some cases, chainfire might help.

Even if it would have been possible, I dont think it will be anyhow crossing more than 5% performance :/

Dude updated drivers are there. Check the cm9 post in dev section. Theres a link posted which will take you to android forums. Issac has given the drivers.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA Premium App

Can you past here the link? I can't find it. What change with that drivers?
And what means AFAIK?

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=afaik

Thank you. I have an another question xP
It's easy to create a script for ram management like SlaidMod?
So the driver will be propabily updated with the CM9?
So (CM9)ICS will improve considerably performance of our ACE?

nexus and nook actually has a 100% armv7 compatible cpu, tegra is not :-(
secondly no kernel support for the new 3.0.
thx for your answer...not for the bad news...:-(

The first two scripts listed in the wiki are no longer availlable for some reason, but the split-bootimage.zip works.
That's not viable to use a SDK ROM on a real device. It will be unoptimized and drivers are not compatible.
We need to wait for HC source + new drivers.
Currently, kernel available at http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=ke...;hb=refs/heads/android-tegra-2.6.36-honeycomb seems to be working on Xoom but we don't know if all devices are working with it (touchscreen, accelerometer, vibrator, etc...).

we know its 100%..
Koush used it to make his boot.img changes, so the kernel is a 100% compatibe android compile.. as google said, the xoom is a reference device, so the kernels should be very much similar. ( except the broadcom driver, which is NDA)
Thanks Dexter_nlb
Btw I don't really understand what ODM_KIT is.
In Folio 100 kernel, there are 3 touchscreen drivers in "odm_kit" folder (panjit, tpk and eeti) and some drivers for these touchscreens are also in drivers/input/touchscreen.
Can't Tegra 2 use normal linux drivers and need to use specific ones ?
I thought ODM_KIT drivers where only there for devkits and not for normal devices.

Overclocking Xperia Play

haven't seen any thread about this. someone already tried setcpu on the arc how about the play?
i want to overclock my unit cause most of the psx games (ie castlevania) tends to be slow and the framerate drops significantly even if it's fixed at 30 fps.
so no one seems to be interested in overclocking the xplay?
i guess when its been out longer ill wont an overclock but i haven't had any slow down as yet well after getting rid of the rubbish that was on there "bloat"
i would rather a recovery menu first ha ha if were wishing here..
but we need a custom kernel first i believe before an overclock
You'll need someone to cook up a custom kernel to OC the play or someone to make a script that runs it without a custom kernel. Had this on my HTC desire hd before I rooted/unlocked the bootloader and flashed a custom kernel that could OC.
The first option will need a unlocked bootloader and the latter will just need root (if possible with the play).
Setcpu should be able to underclock as it is now, but that wont help with your gaming issues.
Regards Dousan...
No need for unlcoked bootloader just need root and someone to cook up a kernel module to work with set CPU. It's a standard qualcom 8250 shouldn't be to hard. Contact the developer of setcpu on twitter or by email

What were the apps that you removed? I might just do this while waiting for an oc. And were there any signifcant changes in terms of the unit's speed.

why ?
We need the sources of the xplay to create own kernels - at least to create one without minor bugs

Hey guys, i'm new to the play forum although ive been around for a while lol anyway just to clarify some points.
yes with the sony kernel source code we can make custom kernels, but without an unlocked bootloader we cannot flash unsigned images.. i only got my play 2day so i am unsure of what can or cannot be done, does the play have nand protection? if not and we can create and flash a custom recovery image, then an unlocked bootloader should not be nessesary. android has full R/W access by default to all the partitions while in recovery mode, so we should be able to flash things roms/kernels/ect. maybe someone should email clockworkmod and ask if they are or intend to work on a custom recovery

cyanogenmod seems to be the best kernel , at least for samsung phones!!
I have a ATT Samsung GII and currently have it rooted fine. Sadly, every one is changing all the roms to ICS and I am currently forced to use a specific application for billing my miles to work that does not run at all on ICS.
I would try to talk to the developers of that app to see if they could just recompile it for ICS but now that they have the app booming on the iPhone they have pretty much dropped any support for Android.
Right now I am downloading the Android SDK so that I might be able to run this app in the SDK on my laptop.
My questions:
1. Is the Android SDK the only way I can run an Android emulator to run this app?
2. Is there a good place on XDA (or some where else) where I could list out the features I need in a specific application and other people could suggest apps that match the requirements? There are many pay for apps that sound like they would work for me but 15 minutes is not long enough to test the apps out before I cannot get a refund.
Hi...
I am a newbie around here. I want to try some clockwork recovery with my old huawei C8500. I already installed the rom manager v4.4.0.7. But it says I have to install clockwork recovery first. So when I click yes, then it ask for my phone model. But, I can't find my phone. Its have like huawei U series and some other phone models. But not my C8500. Can you tell me how to download it and explain what CWM and how it works and a lil detail for some walkthroughs for how to use CWM? Really thanks for any good answers. Thx

[DRIVERS][OFFICIAL] Adreno 205

Hello fellow XDA Members, i recently stumbled across Official drivers that were secretly uploaded by Qualcomm without much news about it, i have not tested them, but hopefully they increase our beloved Xperia Play's Performance alot on ICS...
Ive also cooked another version which is modded by me and should provide a tiny little bit more performance!
Anyways, would love if anyone can test and provide screenies of some benchs before & after!
Thanks to conformation from lovely forum members, it is only intended to work on ICS, try it on other versions of android at your own risk
Instructions:
~ Download the zip from the Attachements
~ Reboot to CWM
~ Flash it
~ Reboot
~ Reboot again
~ Enjoy!

Thank , i'm testing
Going to venture these are for ICS+? Also, what been changed in the modded version?
Edit - will test on GB and see how it goes, of course making a backup first.
can i use it in gb for incriesing perfomance?

while flashing suddenly reboot
I will test this on GB, even though you said its for ICS. And will this work on JB on another 205 device?

Just tested, no your phone will still work but just like all other Adreno GPU updates it makes the phone run super slow in everytthing from screen swipes to especially games.
Did someone try this on CM10 or any other JB rom we have? Generally, does this work on JB at all?
It shows, that drivers obliviously doesnt work on gb, so android uses software renderer.
Where did you find this driver? I don't see any new Adreno drivers on Qualcomm Adreno page. Only those from april..
