Lots of force closes in CM a3 and a3.5 - TouchPad General

I'm getting lots of force closes in apps like email and browser. Anyone else getting this? I wasn't having those with this frequency with a2. In fact, I can't recall many at all. Any tips on better stability?

hmm same here.

Why dont you try the ROM from team XRON. The team has been very active in tweaking the Cyanogen(mod) and providing solutions instantly.

I'm on their latest release vB2.7 . I did not have a single FC so far. The best would be to try installing via ACMEInstaller after Uninstalling the current version. Boot into webOS and mount the USB port(to clear any garbage in the cache).

Another option would be to run fix permissions and see if that stopped the FCs

I was having similar problems after upgrading from 2 to 3.5. Using ACMEUninstaller I just uninstalled CM altogether and reinstalled 3.5 and everything seems to be working perfectly now.

I must say, this is a pretty impressive port. Is odd that Google Voice works on this and not Drew's as it is the same base. Any possibility of getting the stock keyboard back in there? I know you can download the one from the Play store, but its not as good and the included one is too cartoonish for my liking. Well done though!

[Q] Since Root and custom ROM, Google Play and Gmail broken

Aargh... well, to start, I couldn't get CM10 past the boot animation. No worries, I was able to load MeanROM just fine. All apps are there, and loaded Gapps 4.1 as well - I even flashed the kernel. So I can boot and have normal phone operation, except for...
Although I do have internet access,
1) Play Store will not connect.
2) Gmail keeps crashing
3) And none of my Google accounts have an option to sync contacts.
Three strikes!
Can someone help me with any of the aforementioned problems?

Which gapps did you use? You should use the ones linked on IRC or the 4.2 gapps and no wipe is needed although you can wipe dalvik cache if you want.

AvatarRom Questions.

Hello,
Does Thethering work on for this ROM?, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140902?? I tried turning on Wifi AP and nothing happens. Also, is there a way to disable wallpaper scrolling on Bozooka Launcher for this same ROM??
Thank you.
Update: since the ROM is based off of CM10, tethering will not work yet. Not sure if epinter's fix will work. Also, there is no option to disable wallpaper scrolling. You will need to use a different launcher.
Thanks.
epinter's overclock kernel
Just to answer more avatar ROM questions. Epinter's 1.3 ghz over clock kernel will work on this ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140902&page=18.
Make sure its the cm10 version and not the cm10.1. Normal installation, just flash through CWM.
It will generate more heat but its bearable.

which gapps update did you use?? If you used the gapps from the 3.1.10 kernel version of AvatarRom, it may not work, not sure though. This thread for the Previous version of AvatorROM with the Gingerbread kernel using the 20121019 GApps.

Not sure then bro. Have you tried "fix permission" through your recovery?? I remember with the old build there were 2 Zip files, the zip files needed to be installed first, one after the other and then the Gapps. then wipe dalvik cache and/ (optional: cache partition) and reboot system.
Also, as it was mentioned before, the 3.1.10 Kernel in Latest Cm10.1 builds still has bugs. So if your concerned about a daily driver Rom you should probably stick with a CM7 based rom or at the Previous AvatarRom build. Sorry I couldn't help.
Tryed all that , no go. Its a very solid ROM ,but kinda useless without the Gapps. This is actually the only thing that didn't work. Otherwise a true daily driver candidate.

Hangouts on Rezound Keeps Crashing

Has anyone had any luck getting Hangouts Voice or Video calls working on non-stock ROMs? I have tried two different ROMs now, CM11 and Liquid Smooth, and Hangouts crashes immediately after trying to initiate a voice or video call in either of them.
I've searched the forums high and low and haven't found anything to help me fix the problem.
Any help would really be appreciated!

Will try and report back. I've never flashed gapps over another gapps before though. Am I better off just doing a clean install of the ROM and starting from scratch?
You can just flash it and wipe cache/dalvik, reboot... If it complains, wipe system, flash ROM, flash gapps, wipe cache/dalvik, reboot

I'm seeing the same thing as dexterboy. It looks like video calling is working with the older version but not with the new. I even tried wiping and doing a fresh install with those gapps, but no luck. Unfortunately I really want to use the new version because the old version doesn't support voice only calls. I'm going to try the Tachyon ROM next, but if that doesn't work I may have to revert back to a ROM based on the stock ROM.
I finally got it! I tried the Tachyon 1.2 ROM and everything is working perfectly. It seems to be something with the Kitkat ROMs for that is breaking Hangouts for the Rezound. Hopefully this gets fixed with Lollipop ROMs if we're lucky enough to get any of those.
I'm just happy I don't have to revert back to a stock based Sense ROM. Thanks for everyone's help!

I think I will do the same. I have been following your posts and trust your opinion. It is weekend so I should be able to get it set up for the workweek ahead. Needs to be good as my daily driver. I am a perfectionist! Are you using the build in root and kernel?

Friend Ready to Get Nitrogen For Your Angler..
ROM and other Mods Links are in 1st page,
But before flashing you've to need Bootloader,Radio and Vendor images..
I suggest you please Flash all images with Fastboot commands...
Make a full Backup of your Whole Angler including Nandroid backup just in case...
And then start flashing. I highly suggest you Don't restore your EFS partition until you need them.
For Android N you've to need for TWRP 3.0.2.2 or Unofficial TWRP 3.0.2.3..
Here is link for Vendor, Bootloader and Radio images....

My two cents is to try the inbuilt root and kernel first, if you don't like it, then flash away.
But I believe you need he latest supersu ran as systemless mode for ad away to work, which you need the ad away system less zip. I can host the zip if you need it.

Thanks to join The thread..[emoji120]
Actually I love RR but I can't prevent myself to flash N ROMs,After trying a lot I stay with Nitrogen, Because I found Nitrogen has a lot of similarities with RR in terms of Customization, And yes I'll definitely Revert back to RR when @varund7726 announced official build that is coming soon, Because official CM 14 experimental build for OP3 has out and we'll get for Angler soon.
So I think Its good to wait for them who only want RR for Angler..[emoji4]

Thank you for making this thread!
And I agree with you, resurrection remix is amazing and once varun releases nougat, I'm gonna be stuck with it haha
And yes, nitrogen is a really amazing ROM. I stayed on that ROM for the longest before coming back to RR

Take that profile you have (hawk tail) and rename it and delete the .txt part. Then drag that file into the elemental x file on your internal SD card (this is where all profiles go)
Open up elemental x manager, hit CPU, turn on the blue toggles for interactive on the first two options, then hit governor options (I believe its the third option down) once the page opens, hit load at the top right, then scroll down and select hawk tail, then hit apply at boot. Then make sure you find touch boost, it may say disabled or enabled already, you can touch the word touch boost and you'll see it change from enabled to disabled or vise versa, then hit the button power button to the right to activate the disabling.
That should do it. You'll see your CPU sitting lower way more often, saving battery.
If my instructions were unclear, I can upload a step by step with pics here if you need

Just realized that I got so wrapped up in telling you how to set the profile that I didn't answer how the profile is.
Its amazing, no lag, phone never gets hot, battery is at 5 hours screen on time on the lower end, sometimes I can get 7

Quick question... I know you made this thread to talk about Roms we are running. Are you OK with the off topic conversations? Such as governor profiles, battery life, and such?
I just want to keep this thread as it was intended to be. Lemme know if we should steer the conversation into a different direction.
