[Q] How benchmarks fared on HC ? - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

anyone tried benchmarks on honeycomb...? please share some results.... that will help all decide to update to HC or not on performance grounds....
thnx

general ones quadrant, linpack ,pi ,antutu , browsermark and others... i was asking about official rom HC 3.2.1

benchmark
I ran the Quadrant app. dont know much about it, guess I did it correctly- I ran the full benchmark and my device scored 2096. I've ran it 3 times, each time it scores between 1900-2000 range. my device is a stock View 4G upgraded to Honeycomb through system updates. I updated over wifi, I don't have a sprint data plan. hope this helps-

Quadrant is same as it was on GB interesting!!! 3D n 2D benchmark scores on GB were quite low... i guess honeycomb wont affect these thing these r mainly depend on GPU n processor...
there will b just marginal difference...

With Nenemark2 i get 23-25 fps on Honeycomb
GB it was around 12-14 fps
Vellamo between 850-1100 - dont remember GB results
I would ask you not to mention specific ROMs
When the HD2 came out, the first months it was all about benchmark results...
There were ROM ranking lists based on benchmarks... but the comunity realized fast this was pure bull**** so it stopped after a while
Cooks optimized only for specfic benchmarks to get on top casue people started looking only at results... which often had nothin to do wit real life performance

after reading thing i might move to honeycomb .... so we get improved graphics perfomance.....
and vellamo was 820 on GB...
so flyer was under powered with GB...
i heard 1.5 ghz processor was also under powered so i guess bechmark pi will also give better result...
thanx man please test some more on HC... antutu gave a bad score with GB

[Q] Low Quadrant Score??

First I was running Coderom 2x-2b and everything was great then i flashed gingerreal 1.1 and my quadrant score was maximum 1000 but it was fast and snappy then I flashed Fla.Sh X2 and factory reseted and wiped the cache and it's even faster than Gingerreal but the Quadrant score is still low!!
What's the problem???
Quadrant has a bug with 2.3.4..... The results are irrelevant.... Coderom is based on 2.3.4... flash & gingerreal are based on 2.3.3...
Don't depend on those scores to judge a rom...
Ok, I wasn't depending on the scores or anything coz the rom is so fast and excellent but I just wanted to know what's wrong because other people get high scores
another quadrant score fetish. lol
lol... I never check quadrant... just use the phone for a day or 2, and you would know which is the best suited rom for you..
If u do rely on quadrant than don't take into consideration the final score.. just check the graphic test part (2d and 3d) and compare the FPS.. the higher the better..

[Q] Benchmark Results

Hello XDA
This is my first tome to start a thread, hopefully I do it right
I am just confused on how ROMs show High Benchmark results in there screenshots, but when I try to do a benchmark on my Ace I get a VERY Low result compared to what it's supposed to be, Though I have made sure no apps are running in the background, and cleared my RAM, even after checking the Media tweak, Still Very low result, Can anyone Clarify me on how to make my phone better or is that I am doing something wrong?
I am using the glmst v2 KPO ROM
Don't even worry about it. With coderom I had 1927 max. Now with gingerReal I only get 1000+, but I feel this rom much better. So I dont rely anymore on quadrant scores. I suggest you to do the same.
even if u got trillion benchmark score it doesnt mean anything.. nowadays benchmark score is crap, doesnt mean a squat. i said that because gingerbread had some problem with quadrant, thus its result is inconsistent. even there are rom makers that spoof quadrant score by tinkering with phone i/o value to make their rom looks like it got highest benchmark score. i even found an app here on xda that automate that i/o spoof, install it and u'll get godlike quadrant score.
edited: the app to spoof benchmark score like i said is that in skynet post below. that should spike anyone quadrant score to 5000
Quadrant benchmark does not mean anything....its only relevant for lagfix or filesystem changes or some kernel tweaks. Otherwise it can be hacked easily to show high benchmark scores. Someone even showed quadrant benchmark above 2100 in ace by an app which hacked quadrant .
Yes there is even an app called quadrant booster which utilizes i/o hack to boost scores by Doomlord here-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17110408
Ok thanks guys..... Its that it gets annoying when u dont get what the rom promises ya

benchmarks

ok so i kno people say benchmarks dont mean ishh but i like to play around with them to see what i can pull.. so they mean something to me. what i do not understand is why i cant get over 3100 on quadrant.. my evo lets me overclock to 1.8.. i have tryed just about every rom and cant get over 3100.. the set up that i got 3100 with was kmmod7beta7_3 htc shooterCDMA.. i quess its a new cm7 rom.. i used that rom and the kernel that it comes with.. its an anthrax kernel that comes with the rom.. can someone please let me kno of a few set ups that mite let me beat the 3100 score.. rom and kernel combo... yes i do have alot of free time on my hands because im collecting unemployment at this time.. so with me not working rite now the only this there is to do is fill out job apps and tinker with my phone!!!! lol

Quadrant is the worst benchmark program available. It's old and runs too quickly on new hardware to be consistent which is why you get 5 different numbers if you run it 5 times. Often you get a higher Quadrant score if you run it 5 times: you'll notice the score gets higher each time you run it up to about the 3rd or 4th time. That said, Quadrant puts a heavy emphasis on database I/O. Search for a tweak called Adrenaline Shot. It has updated sqlite lib files that make Quadrant scream through the database I/O portion and that'll bring your scores up dramatically. That is... if you just want higher Quadrant scores. It isn't useful for anything else.

it's not an argument, I clearly state, that this is to "ME" on "MY" phone,
also, I'm not trying to trick my benchmarking app, what I've seen over 28 weeks is a clear indication, to "ME" on "MY" phone , that ui is smoother and faster on higher benchmark scores, simple as that
Well duh, having an overclocked CPU results in higher benchmarks because the phone can complete things faster. This translates to a smoother UI.
The problem is that benchmarks are affected by so many things that might not reflect accurately the performance of the phone. And comparing different phones is useless because of skins and different hardware performing better in tests but worse in real life.
Faster CPU = higher benchmarks and smoother UI. That doesn't mean that higher benchmarks = smoother UI.

No, not, duhhhhh, overclocking also causes instability in some cases, more so if incorrect/not optimized voltages per frequency and governor in kernel, and smooth ness is affected

7000 score in Antutu @ 1.86 GHz? That seems low... I right around the same score at 1.65GHz

Anybody who knows anything about overclocking knows to make sure it's stable..
Seriously, if you think your high quadrants means your phone outperforms the leaked scores of a quad core Tegra 3 phone by almost double, then you're in denial.
Let me put this in words you can understand.
Faster clock speed = faster graphics and calculations.
Faster clock speed = higher benches.
Higher benches != better performance. They're just linked.
Sure, if you're pulling over 4000 in quadrant, your device is performing quite well. But that doesn't make your Evo 3D a super phone twice as good as the rest of ours.
There are so many factors involved that simply saying "my quads are high, and that indicates performance" is ignorant and naive. Once you can explain to me how your phone "performs" better than a quad core device, then maybe I'll spare your thoughts my time.

I can't wait to see where this thread goes from here. Also, my phone is completely usable, fast, smooth, and has amazing battery life and I just scored an 1100 on Antutu. Benchmarks are worthless except to raise your eEsteem. See my thread about GeekBench from a few nights ago for proof.

Yes, as I stated in the other thread, quadrant is simply the equivalent of measuring mobile phone penis size and nothing more.

[Q] aosp + benchmarking

First off, let me say that this is more a question out of curiosity so I can learn more about the android system then real concern.
That having been said, I have noticed that AOSP roms consistently score lower on benchmark software (Antutu to be exact) then Sense based roms, even though its immediately obvious that the AOSP roms are faster in the "real world". I have read on another phone's forum that it was OpenGL based for that phone, is it the same thing for our Rezounds, or are there other factors at work?
I do realize that benchmark scores are not the end all for performance representation, however the fact remains that there has to be something that is bringing down the AOSP score, hence why this is a question of curiosity .
That is an observation I have not made. The scores are pretty much the same for me. Just ran a 6336 on Antutu. Without overclocking, I run about the same on Sense.
I just had to rerun to make sure I wasn't making an a** of myself....
Both runs were using Neo's roms (adrenaline and rage)
on adrenaline with dsb's kernel and no OC I got a 7125
on rage running the bundled kernel i got a 6577
I've never seen over 7k on this phone without some heavy overclocking. What version of dsb's kernel are you using? A lot of them don't hold stable clocks. Try a benchmark with the stock kernel. It's a much more fair test since the AOSP is basically stock.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
I was running his 2.01 kernel with 192 min and 1.5 max using smartassv2 gov for the posted score.
Will have to get back to you on the stock kernel numbers as I am currently back on AOSP since I am playing around with themeing it, however for what it's worth this phone consistently (10-12 different benchmark runs) scored between 7000 and 7200 on the dsb kernel.
Yup I got over 8200 with my friends class 10 card in... With the standard one I get just under 7800 with OC and around 7200 without on DSBs kernel on 2 different roms...
Does anyone even use geekbench?

Well Rezound is built for sense so you can expect it to be, but once we get a working OC kernel you will see asop jump up in benchmarks
In Antutu, I get around 6500 with "stock" based Sense 3.6 roms. Then Sense 4 came out and the Antutu scores are 1000 higher, my top was 7700. I don't know why Sense 4 runs so much faster, especially since it was ported to our phone. AOSP I think scores were in between, 7000 range? But I'm not certain. Anyway Sense 4 is blisteringly fast, Sense 3.6 is garbage, and AOSP roms are the fastest going between apps/launcher. Once AOSP gets more solid, I will probably switch full time, but ViperREZ Sense 4 has sooooooo many features (and speed) it is hard to put down.
