CASE FOR SGSII i777. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

So I've been reading around and it seems that a lot of people are having trouble finding a nice and fitted case. Now I came frome a cappy to the i777 and I wanted somthing that was like the bodyglove case for the captivate. I found a case on Amazon that I thought would fit the i777 just right. It came in yesterday and it fits perfectly! Everythingis cut out where its supposed to be, yes even the noise canceling mic on top. Its not thick and it keeps the phone slim. Has nice grip on the sides so it doesn't slip. Fits the phone perfect. All in all seems to be an awesome case. And its only like $9 with shipping! Good deal!

I got a TC matte black slim case that is great and was $9 shipped from amazon. Highly recommended.

+1 for the TC case, nice fit and no frills.

I got the case mentioned in the OP but for 2.95 on eBay. Have to say this is one of the best fitting and best looking tpu cases I've owned. All the cutouts are spot on and its thin with ok protection for a tpu case. Way satisfied and would def recommend it to anyone.

can i get photos?

I just got this one in the mail before Christmas (along with some screen protectors). This thing is good. double layer protection along with covers for the earphone jack and usb port. Feel as sturdy or more than otterboxes I have seen. Some people don't like the bulk but I like the thicker grip.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Kickstand-Double-Layer-Hard-Gel-Case-Samsung-Galaxy-S2-AT-T-Attain-i777-/150706345470?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2316cc55fe#ht_3132wt_1185

Is the case OP posted really rubbery or what? I'm looking for a slim case that doesn't stick in my pockets.

+ one more for the matte black TC case. Had it since a week after launch. Cut outs are all correct, (though I widened the usb and headphones cutouts with an xacto knife to fit aftermarket audio and usb plugs that I had - stock stuff fit fine with no mods) keeps the slim profile of the phone, and makes it fit my hand a little better, so less chance of drops.

I'm looking into the case that the OP mentioned. I found a five case deal on ebay coming from Hong Kong. I just got my phone (no case protection) and it'll pain me too much to see how long the shipping will take, it is free though.
I wonder if people are seeing good results on all of these cheap cases from ebay, by that I mean after a few months of use.

Question, OP
I'm coming from a Cappy with the excellent Body Glove TPU case. It was the best case I've ever had for a phone, and I was wondering if the case OP posted is flexible TPU, or hard, rigid plastic that can't be flexed. I wonder this because I need access to the back sd card and battery often, and the material of the case determines if I buy it or not.
Thanks for any answers to my question.

+1 - CaseMate POP case and a Moshi iVisor (They better be careful. I think Apple owns a copyright on any word starting with a lower-case "i", and they seem to be a little sue-happy recently). Same setup I had on my Samsung Infuse. The only thing I didn't like about that case was the lack of a kickstand, and this one's got it. Perfect!
The only thing I don't like about the pop case is it seems to only come in white/grey, otherwise love the case.
Asking what case to get is like asking what kind of car you should get. It's very much personal taste, hehe.
With that said, I was in Asia last week and came back with about 20 different designs. The one I favor is a 0.2mm case (just ebay it there are tons)... they're only a couple bucks, and they provide scratch\scuff protection, and are the ultimate in thinness. They don't provide very good grip though.
The Ringke silicon case is alright, I have one in red which looks nice, but it's not ideal for me because with any silicon case I find the sides are not as tight fitting to the phone as I like (problem with ANY silicon case, most people are fine with it but I'm a bit OCD).
There is a TPU case I bought on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005OTAUG6
And thus far this TPU case has been my absolute favorite of all the 10 or so cases I have. It's got the right amount of grip, but isn't sticky removing from pocket like a silicon is, and it's absolutely tight-fitting and has the ATT mic cutouts, and the color is cool. Not super crazy about the argyle back, but the color is nice, so it works.
But again, personal taste is a lot of it. If you order from somewhere like Amazon if you don't like the case you can return it without hassle.

I just received my Acase from Amazon today. I have to say it's pretty nice. It's a silicon case, but with a hard case on top of it. It adds a bit of bulk, but it is definitely fully protected. It's as thick as my current gen iPod classic now. Not too great, but not too bad for $10.

Can't do a case with this !

I recommend the Ringke Slim . . . very minimalist. Pretty expensive for what you get, though, and the screen protector was kind of crap.

The case is good for what's it for. I like it so far but I'm not satisfied. The only problem I'm having is having to fold the cover back when I have to use it like text messaging. It's a hindrance.
Exactly ,the folding cases make things difficult

I ordered a different case from Zenus and another wallet case but in black with the stand on the back. It's the same price as the brown nubuck leather case. And one of their graffiti silicon case. I'll be switching between whichever I feel like using.
I'm planning on going completely naked. No cover, no case except maybe a belt case. Not sure I'll want to keep this in my pocket.
The $7 TPU cases are quite thin, at least until you find something you like. You can also order a Neoprene sleeve or the OEM sleeve to keep it in while in your pocket. I ordered them and the Neoprene one was $4 and the OEM 25
I tried one of the "ultra thin tpu cases" for sale on ebay and so far, I'm loving it. The case really is ultra thin, and mine is clear frosted so it also adds a bit of grip.
Note, it offers zero face protection, and only covers up to the chrome bezel on the sides.

The empire case, i use when I'm at home. It's almost like not having a case at all. Protection for the left and right sides and the back are there. Top and Bottom are open as well as the front of the screen.
When I go out of the house, I transfer to the Zenus Wallet Case:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/samsung-gal...784392?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4600c77d08
It's great for going out...protects the phone reasonably well and I don't have to carry a separate wallet. Oh it the case itself looks AWESOME!

Case Mate finally shipped

My case mate case for the galaxy note finally shipped and I have to say the case feels amazing in my hands, it also keeps the thin feeling of the phone. It feels extremely durable as well. I had one of these for my Inspire. I liked the feeling of the plastic as it gave some good grip but I hated the rubber portion. It collected everything including lint and it was way to tacky.
Which Case Mate is that? How does it go? Is the first layer silicone and the outer lay plastic?
Right now I have the Reiko Hybrid case -- very durable, but very heavy and thick. I'm debating getting the Case Mate, Ballistic, or Trident.

How's the weight/thickness compared to the Reiko Hybrid? Considering it was only $9.00, I got it as more of an in-between "holder" to wait off for the better companies.

I was hoping this would be the last case I bought for my gNote. I found the Case-Mate Tough on sale on Amazon for $17.99 (free shipping) way better than the $40 retail!
My gNote is not insured so I wanted a case that would provide a good degree of protection without adding too much bulk. I felt this case would meet this need. It has a good grip and solid construction.
My only gripe is the the silicon is not tight on the edge on the top and bottom! Ugg! The hard shell does not hold the inner silicon in place on the top and bottom, the way it does on the sides. When pulling the phone out of my pocket the lose silicone drags/clings. So I think this action may make the silicone baggy/loser over time.

Comments about loose fitting silicone and the pics showing it to be a dust magnet are disappointing. I was really hoping this would do the trick. I have the Reiko Hybrid case. It's protective but it's a monster.
Now that the Candyshell case AT&T wanted $40 for is in the low $20's, I may be revisiting that. I still don't like the glossy back's scratch magnet aspects but its slim and the silicone (TPU?) layer holds tight to the surface of the phone.
I fixed the loose silicone on top and bottom with some double sided sticky tape. Works like a charm!
Now that I have had a chance to use it for a week or so, I have to agree with the OP. It feels very good in the hand and totally secure.

Thin case

Hi there,
Im looking for thin case.
Best I have found is this case on ebay
Design is not bad, but its not covering glass area around the camera.
Questions:
1. Is there any thin case(plastic, rubber) that covers that?
2. Anyone tried skins? Will they remove easily(considering phone is jeans pocket)?
3. Those who are using various rubber, gel, hybrid and so on cases, how much fatter is your phone with them? If its not that much fatter suggestions on good cases then

I have tried them all, best case is either the capdase brand or official HTC TPU case. They both let your phone slide into your pocket easy, don't bulk out your phone, look great and offer good protection.

Look up the Kraken AMS. That is a reasonable case.
Alternatively just look for something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-HAR...sesPouches&hash=item3a6a2fac16#ht_1887wt_1396
Best thing about this type of case is it doesn't add too much bulk, and is easy to get in and out of your pocket (unlike a silicone/rubber case). And it will actually protect your phone in a drop unlike that case you linked to in your original post. As for your screen... only BIG cases include a plastic layer to completely cover the glass.
Are you just looking for something with raised edges, and then use a screen protector perhaps? (Like the ebay one I showed you).

My case looks exactly the same and it was £3 from amazon.
IMO the thinnest cases are the back cases ones that doesnt really cover the top and bottom bezel...just the sides and back. BUT if you really want to protect your phone and not get it scratched up over time, you are better off using a TPU type case as the are not too thick and are of softer material and will not rub off any of the black anodized paint. Unlike any hard cases, whether its back only or 2 pieces. Also TPU cases are more absorbent during accidental drop on hard surfaces.
I was running seidio 2pc case hard case w/kick stand with my first 3d and although it had felt inside it eventually rubbed off the pain on the top corners of my phone. The felt inside was very thin and the case is not skin tight so it would move some and the slight movement of the case over time eventually sandpapered some of the paint off. TPU or rubber type cases are more skin tight and is not as abrasive as plastic on painted metal and will not damage the paint so long as you also clean it off from time to time. Some dirt can eventually get in between and the dirt will act as sandpaper. So just consider this when you're buying a case as some of you would probably like to sell your phone later down the road or just want to keep it looking new for a long time.

Some people have complained that these type of cases are a bit loose on the sides. Easy fix is to lightly squeeze the sides inwards... tight fit!

Otterbox Commuter case

Been looking for a sturdy case for my LGOG and I found the commuter case on the Otterbox website but no idea when it will be available. What is the opinion about the case? Anyone have a better solution?
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
I have been waiting for this case to be released before I buy this phone. I'm afraid of dropping it and shattering the glass.
First thing I should mention is that I'm not sure this case will fit the AT&T variant. There are different variants of this phone with slightly different dimensions so it's worth checking. Also, this case will cover the LED notification ring around the power connector. I have raised this issue with the manufacturer but I doubt they will do anything about it. I suggested using a clear silicone around the power button but I will probably just poke a few holes around the power button of the silicone case if I really feel like I need to see the notification LED. If you inquire about whether or not it will work with the AT&T variant I would be interested to hear their response.
Best of luck!
Honestly, I'll be happy if it fits the AT&T version. That seems to be the odd man out when it comes to cases.
That seems to be the main issue, the fit. I've had an HTC Aria for three years before I upgraded to this mini tablet monstrosity, I have an irrational fear of dropping it and it's a bit awkward trying to use it one handed. I almost considered buying the ridiculously expensive AT&T plastic frame. My primary concern is this massive screen will be its Achilles. Anyone have a a close call with it yet? I mean I have dropped it from about three feet on to carpet but I'd like to hear about real life drop tests. Also I know the screen is hard to scratch but what about the back? Would a frame type case serve to protect the screen and back better? Pros and cons to a screen protector or privacy shield? It seems like an exotic phone or something with the locked bootloader I guess it's not the most popular amongst the devs. Any and all input and thoughts are openly appreciated.
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Dropped mine from about 2 feet up off the bed onto a hardwood floor. Landed on the backside. No visible damage under a bright light. I don't use any case or protector.
I hope the commuter comes out soon. I'm tired of worrying about dropping this beauty. This phone is a little slippery. I haven't peeled off the back film yet either, maybe I never will. I'll be pretty disappointed if the one coming out is the sprint version only. Hopefully they're making both versions right now. I really wish all variants were the same like the gs3. Then we could get all accessories without issues. Unfortunately, at&t is the odd man out.

I gave up and bought then Body Glove case since there's nothing else out there I've seen yet for it that's good. I ordered a cheap TPU case off of EBay, but that didn't quite fit so I wasted $4. And, since both Seidio and Trident case have responded to my email inquiries that they haven't any plans to make cases for the ATT OG, I'm more than a little bummed that I may not find anything better if the Otterbox doesn't fit my new toy.

Yeah it sux. If only lg made the same variant for all the carriers. But no, at&t has to be different. I'd like to think it's different because of the micro sd slot. But it's hard for me to believe they couldn't pull it off with the same dimensions. I actually like the sprint model better since its a little skinnier and easier to hold. But regardless, I love this phone. Lets just hope otterbox comes through.

She couldn't tell me if they're making both versions. She just said sign up for the email notification. Oh well, I got my fingers crossed.

The body glove case that came out for it is pretty nice. I've only found it in at&t stores though.

Yeah I saw the bodyglove case at the att store but I don't like the colors. I like the gray outer case but the inner silicone case colors are ugly to me. Orange, purple, blue, pink, but no black. Wtf. Gray with black silicone is perfect IMO. But that's just my taste.

I have tried emailing Otterbox customer service and got no response back. I called customer service and they told me that they could not tell me what phones this case would support until it was released. Sadly, I think it's time for me to select a new case Anyone have any suggestions of similar cases? I see the Ventev and Amzer cases but they are kind of ugly.

Yes, I have been checking that. Specifically, I'm looking for a dual layer case with a soft silicone inner shell and a hard silicone outer shell. Otterbox and Casemate are the only companies I know of that do this. Casemate doesn't have an LGOG case and Otterbox is uncertain whether or not they will fit the AT&T variant.

Check out the Amzer and geocase. Although I personally don't like them. They are tpu with a hard outer shell.

Thanks, but I think that the Amzer and Ventev Geocases are ugly. Guess I'll have to wait for Otterbox or lower my standards

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks they are ugly. I have had the same TPU smoke case on 2 phones (same case, different versions). I was so glad to see it for the LGOG. It should come 2mro. If it fits ill update my thread. Based on the other 2 cases, I would highly recommend it. My fingers are crossed big time.
