Hulu + not compatible with Prime? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Tells me I cannot run it even after updating firmware anyone able to get Hulu + to work with the Prime if not anyone know if it will work anytime soon?

Try installing this "Flash Video Browser" from the Android Market Place. It specifically states HULU support! Let us know if it works, as I have not yet received my Prime!!!

Hulu Plus is available on the following devices*: Nexus One, Nexus S, HTC Evo 4G, HTC Thunderbolt, HTC myTouch 4G, HTC Inspire 4G, G2, Motorola Droid II, Motorola Droid X and the Motorola Atrix. Support for additional devices will be announced throughout the year.
So I guess the prime is out of luck for now. You can try to put a support request in to see if they will push the prime support faster.
Supported Devices*:
• G2
• HTC Evo 3D
• HTC Evo 4G
• HTC Flyer
• HTC Incredible 2
• HTC Sensation
• HTC Thunderbolt
• HTC myTouch
• HTC Inspire 4G

No, it should not work....its not supported right now

Here is a solution for you. It's called droidlu at market. It will allow you to watch hulu through this app. The link below and no root required. This currently is the only way that I found to be able to get my Hulu fix. Must have latest adobe flash player installed for it to work. It costs 0.99 worth it imho.

There's is no trick lol i just when to the market and download it. I'm on the latest firmware.
Funny part is I use netflix, but hulu does have a free stuff to watch so imma keep it.

How? What have you done differently for this to work? It says Unsupported when I click on Hulu plus app. Also I noticed when you clicked on the app it doesn't show the hulu logo at all it took you straight to videos.

Im starting to think his was running from a web based browser vs the actual app because as he said he is not a paid subscriber I think that's whats happening here.

Nope, got mines from gamestop and if you look to the right or my weather app i'm from chi-town = chicago. I'm on a stock non rooted asus tf201.
And it isn't a browser base hulu plus in my last video you saw me started the app.
Here's another video...

Yes I don't have a paid account but why would it work only with non paying account and not hulu+ account you tell me?
P.S towards the end it wasn't my touch screen fault lol my finger wasn't even on the screen. It's kinda hard trying to move the bar when my eyes are focus on the camera.

The logo did pop up the first time i ran it but after that it doesn't anymore. Honestly if i had the knowledge to create an app to run hulu or somehow got hulu to work on the browser i'll probably put it on market for $0.99 to make some money outta it instead of tricking people on xda for fun.

When you go to the Market on a PC, what does it show your tablet listed as? Because as a non-supported device Hulu shouldn't show up at all in the Market on the Prime and via a PC it should show up but not let you download because your device will be greyed out. Hulu runs two checks before it'll play a video: 1) the build.prop reflects a supported device, and 2) it checks for Android and says "your device is not supported" if it's detected. So if yours is the only one in existence that can run Hulu I'd guess you have a unique build.prop.
To please the people who are questioning whether what you're saying is true, you can post a screenshot of the Market on your PC showing Hulu as an installed app.

Hulu Plus

So, Hulu Plus has been released to specific devices...not including ours.
The APK has been posted here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136634&page=3 ), except that on launch, it notifies us that video playback isn't supported on the device.
Can someone rooted test this out with their build.prop modified to one of the supported devices (see build.prop info here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13952218&postcount=722 ), or can someone more knowledable with APK hacking disable the device checking?
Here are directions to modify the Hulu plus build prop more specifically ...
http://channelandroid.com/2011/06/2...on-an-unsupported-device-needs-root/#comments
Although it looks like it won't work universally.
Looking for this to work as well if anyone could please make it happen I would appreciate it. Thanks!
count me in
this should finalize my transition from ipad to the galaxy tab
Bump for attention.
Great big whopping fail
Changing the build.prop kills the samsung services including the keyboard and several widgets.
and oh yeah, it doesn't get us hulu either.
I tried the solution posted at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182668&highlight=hulu+plus
for the Droid Incredible 2 on my g-tab 8.9, and it works perfectly--EXCEPT that the video is cell-phone-size, takes up about a quarter of the tab's screen. Maybe starting with that, someone could figure out how make it the right size?

this method described on this thread doesn't work for hulu plus? I don't see why you even need an app to run hulu plus if your account is hulu plus fied when you logged in.

Adobe Flash embedded videos not working on 4.0.4 - Fix using Nexus Files ?

Hi everyone,
as everyone knows Adobe is dropping support for Flash on Android.
Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) will NOT support Flash.
BUT Adobe is still supporting Flash for Android up to 4.0.X.
So far in theory. BUT embedded Flash Videos don't work with our Razr and every ICS Version (Leaked or not).
While Flash Menues work fine embedded Videos don't.
Test it for yourself on this sites (to prevent comments like: uhm, but its working for me):
southparkstudios.com / southpark.de --> Episodes
divshare.com
ESPN.com
ect.
Everything flash-based worked with GB 2.3.6.
Everything works on other Devices with 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 (At least the ones i know, like Galaxy SII SIII, Nexus, Odys Tablets ect.).
So it has to be some Moto/Razr bug. Especially since the Nexus shares the same CPU/GPU as the Motorola and their flash works perfect (tested myself with 4.0.4).
So i think its some hardware accelleration thinggy. Maybe someone could fix this or help me/us by sending mails & bugreports to Moto and to Adobe.
Thanks.

same here.
it wont work on Chrome, but it's very very flakey on Firefox. and barely works in default browser.
yes, I have Flash installed.
update: and by flakey, i mean ur right. menu works. but videos doesn't. just tested on watch.ctv.ca and espn.com. (the ads works though...)
update: for ESPN.com, in Chrome, clicking on the video link of the mobile version of the site will redirect it to my MX Player, which then works fine...
update: yeah ive googled it. its a known issue. flash videos doesnt work with ICS, no matter what u do. and according to adobe, they only support RAZR up to 2.3 - http://www.adobe.com/devnet-apps/flashruntimes/certified-devices.html
ah damnit my phone feels like an iphone now.............

[Q] Google play content

So I live in Lebanon, and have had to live with the dissapointment of not having any access to any books or music from google play. I thought that that is how everyone over here had things.. until I had to borrow my brother's nexus today and noticed that his playstore, despite having been registered under the same country as mine, had clearly all the content available from the us. His homepage in Play store had apps and as you would scroll down there were book suggestions, music suggestions, and even movie suggestion. He even said that he has bought books on it without any problems. Ive been using ebook reader to buy books so far but have noticed that many books arent there. Why is the content available on his device and not mine? We both use the nexus 7, though admittedly the only difference is that he hasn't rooted any of his devices whereas all of mine ( my phone and tablet) are rooted..... the content didnt come up on my device even after I added his account on my nexus. The versions for the playstore are the same as well. Anyone know why this may be and if there is any for me to get access to books and music on the playstore?

Nope. Its working perfectly fine for both of us. Im wondering now, If maybe he just happened to update his google play while he was in the US and whether that couldve been the reason? That he happened to update it when he was there as opposed to updating it when he is in Lebanon? But if that were the reason then it should be enough for someone to use a VPN or tunnel while updating the app and he should get the content he wants which Im pretty sure people would have figured out a long time ago and not now :S so im confused. Maybe he just has a lucky bug or something?

NO ... its working fine in that it lets me buy apps but it still doesnt show me any books or any of the US content. My brother can see the US content even though he lives in Lebanon. Thats the problem that I want to know if I can get the same content as him. When I said it works perfectly I meant that it would open I can browse through apps and buy them, but not that I managed to get the same content as my brother.

The FAQ on that site says, "Galaxy Note (Firmware update required)". ATT says I am up to date.
I have given up on this and am following the advice from khaytsus and I am looking for other DLNA apps.
It turns out the SiliconDust HDHomerun cable TV DLNA streamer has it's own Android paid app, but I always try free apps first.
Mediahouse and bubble upnp are the two I have used, bubble being the better one I think.
they are all just a browser basically, you need something like MX player installed too.

[EASY MOD] Get Access to more Games straight from the PlayStore

Hello Everyone,
Since our S4s use a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, you will not be able to find games/apps that are specific to each device, such as phones that use the NVIDIA Tegra processor.
This Mod will allow you to find, buy and install games from the Play Store that normally wouldn't be available for users using a stock S4 ROM.
Also, this was not discovered by me - I just found this on some sites and thought I should share the info :silly:
Disclaimer: As always, I am not responsible for any damages this may cause to your device. Proceed at own risk.
This works by fooling the Play Store into thinking you're using a different device.
INSTRUCTIONS
Get Root Access.
. Using a program such as Root Explorer, work your way to the following folder:
Code:
[B]/system[/B]
Make sure you have Read and Write Access (do this by hitting the "Mount R/W" button at the top in Root Explorer)
Long press "build.prop" and hit "Open in Text Editor"
Locate the line where it says:
Code:
[B]ro.product.device=**********[/B]
Change whatever it says in there to 'olympus'. So you should now see:
Code:
[B]ro.product.device=olympus[/B]
Reboot phone.
You should now be able to view and download Tegra apps from the Play Store.
Remember to hit Thanks if I helped you out in anyway Cheers!
Note: Since these games are developed for Tegra devices, they may be a tad bit glitchy. However, I've tried a few games out and they seem to work perfectly fine!
UPDATE: Even though changing the build.prop will give you access to more games, Tegra Exclusive games still don't seem to be working. If I find anymore information, I will update this thread.
More build.prop devices you can use
Motorola Atrix:
Code:
[B]ro.product.device=olympus[/B]

Based on this thread, the build prop would be:
Code:
ro.product.device=mako
I haven't tested it, so I'm not sure.
Try it if you want lol.
I'm getting wild blood now! Still won't let me download nba jam. Happen to know galaxy S3 build prop? I was able to play on my old G3. Strange, rayman jungle run still says it's incompatible? That's all right I ended up paying twice for it. Bought it off amazon market
Able to download wild blood and nova 3! Let's hope they both work. Not like there's a lack of GPU power

Nova 3,butter smooth frame rates! The cut scenes and game play looks unreal! It actually looks like councel quality. I hear this term thrown around but this time your hearing it from a gamer! Can't wait to see when there optimized for our device! Two reasons why all games will be. No. 1 Google branded galaxy s4. No. 2 its already doing better then the galaxy S3. It took samsung 50 days to sell 10,000,000,000 galaxy S3 phones! :what:Now time to move this big ass file :thumbup:

Got all my games besides NBA jam. Tried maguro! Toro, D2vzw and none work. If anyone finds one that works or a trick that works like clearing market data please let me know. I love that game! Extremely frustrating that the dev just can't do the quick fix for us. Also sucks that they don't respond to kind emails neither! Big props to all of you geniuses that only android can attract. Lower IQ people go for simple

The code to fool Playstore into thinking you have a S3 device is:
ro.product.device=d2att
It looks like it does show more apps, but rayman and NBA Jam still don't show unfortunately @mike216 I'll keep looking to see if I can get it to work!

NbA Jam is shoeing up in the play store with d2att fix.
Are yoy sure thats for the S3 and not the S2?
Im just asking because Real Boxing hasnt shown up in the play store using olympus and d2att fix.
Any thoughts on why Real Boxing is not showing ip as it has been added to compatibility for the game?

Does anyone know what I would put to fake Rogers Wireless galaxy s3?
ro.product.device=??????
Also what would it be to return to stock galaxy s4 on Rogers Wireless device recognition in play store?
ro.product.device=???????
Would help me a lot to know both of these and may help others in the future and save them from having to ask.

Just found the best way to get the most apps to show up in the play store.
Best way to have the device set up is as follows.
ro.product.device=softwin
I am attaching 4 pictures just to show 2 apps that are missing in the top paid apps list.
Using d2att leaves a few apps still missing in the play store.
Using
ro.product.device=softwin (will give you more apps as ive seen. Two for example are max payne, 9mm and the game of life)
ro.product.device=softwin seems to be the best. I found this on one of my other android devices..... lol
If anyone can report back if they see more apps in the list as I do it woipd be great.

I just tried and nba jam still isn't available? d2att and reboot with no luck. Did you clear market data?

You should really try
ro.product.device=softwin
this will give you a lot more apps in the play store list.
Make sure you reboot.
Then use the phone for about 5 minutes and check multiple times for NBA Jam in the Play Store or even just NBA.
More apps then that will be added to your play store app list

Awesome! Which device is that for?
Its for one of my JXD Devices. Its not a phone, its not a tablet but it runs android amazingly.
My only question is we can get all these apps to show in the play store. 90% of them work.
But a select few dont, like 9mm, real boxing and a few others I cant rwmember right now.
9mm says Device not compatible.
Real Boxing gives a non Tegra Processor message once in the main menu.
Is there a fix for these two problems im describing for 9mm and Real Boxing that I just have not found on the XDA Forums and google?????

So frustrating! I tried softwin but still no nba jam? How are you able to see this game? Did you clear data or anything else?
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
I restarted the phone after making the change.
Then go in the the play storw and search for it. Should come up after a few minutes doing multiple searches.
Think it takes time for playstore to load the new apps.
