Adobe Flash embedded videos not working on 4.0.4 - Fix using Nexus Files ? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hi everyone,
as everyone knows Adobe is dropping support for Flash on Android.
Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) will NOT support Flash.
BUT Adobe is still supporting Flash for Android up to 4.0.X.
So far in theory. BUT embedded Flash Videos don't work with our Razr and every ICS Version (Leaked or not).
While Flash Menues work fine embedded Videos don't.
Test it for yourself on this sites (to prevent comments like: uhm, but its working for me):
southparkstudios.com / southpark.de --> Episodes
divshare.com
ESPN.com
ect.
Everything flash-based worked with GB 2.3.6.
Everything works on other Devices with 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 (At least the ones i know, like Galaxy SII SIII, Nexus, Odys Tablets ect.).
So it has to be some Moto/Razr bug. Especially since the Nexus shares the same CPU/GPU as the Motorola and their flash works perfect (tested myself with 4.0.4).
So i think its some hardware accelleration thinggy. Maybe someone could fix this or help me/us by sending mails & bugreports to Moto and to Adobe.
Thanks.

I have the same problem on my DROID 4 on the ICS leak

Just installed JB on my xoom. Flash works fine. And no I did not go to a F'in site that is backed up by html5. I know everyone is crying about espn.com. yea its weird it doesn't work on the razr. But I can assure you it works on my tab

same here.
it wont work on Chrome, but it's very very flakey on Firefox. and barely works in default browser.
yes, I have Flash installed.
update: and by flakey, i mean ur right. menu works. but videos doesn't. just tested on watch.ctv.ca and espn.com. (the ads works though...)
update: for ESPN.com, in Chrome, clicking on the video link of the mobile version of the site will redirect it to my MX Player, which then works fine...
update: yeah ive googled it. its a known issue. flash videos doesnt work with ICS, no matter what u do. and according to adobe, they only support RAZR up to 2.3 - http://www.adobe.com/devnet-apps/flashruntimes/certified-devices.html
ah damnit my phone feels like an iphone now.............

After downloading the update, I had to re-install Flash. Have you tried this?

Flash works flawlessly on Chinese ics, but not eu based
Sent from my XT910 using xda app-developers app

I can't use flash on eu ics based too. It wouldn't play on any browser (chrome, default browser, dolphin) that I have

This has worked for some people.
Uninstall flash.
Reboot.
Install flash.
Install adobe air.
Reboot again.

Not sure about you guys but flash is still working fine for me even on jelly bean. you have to install the apk manually and then use a browser such as dolphin to view flash content. Screenshot taken with my nexus 7 and the same animation plays if i use my RAZR as well.

Hulu + not compatible with Prime?

Tells me I cannot run it even after updating firmware anyone able to get Hulu + to work with the Prime if not anyone know if it will work anytime soon?
Try installing this "Flash Video Browser" from the Android Market Place. It specifically states HULU support! Let us know if it works, as I have not yet received my Prime!!!

Here is a solution for you. It's called droidlu at market. It will allow you to watch hulu through this app. The link below and no root required. This currently is the only way that I found to be able to get my Hulu fix. Must have latest adobe flash player installed for it to work. It costs 0.99 worth it imho.

Im starting to think his was running from a web based browser vs the actual app because as he said he is not a paid subscriber I think that's whats happening here.
Nope, got mines from gamestop and if you look to the right or my weather app i'm from chi-town = chicago. I'm on a stock non rooted asus tf201.
And it isn't a browser base hulu plus in my last video you saw me started the app.
Here's another video...

Yes I don't have a paid account but why would it work only with non paying account and not hulu+ account you tell me?
P.S towards the end it wasn't my touch screen fault lol my finger wasn't even on the screen. It's kinda hard trying to move the bar when my eyes are focus on the camera.

The logo did pop up the first time i ran it but after that it doesn't anymore. Honestly if i had the knowledge to create an app to run hulu or somehow got hulu to work on the browser i'll probably put it on market for $0.99 to make some money outta it instead of tricking people on xda for fun.

When you go to the Market on a PC, what does it show your tablet listed as? Because as a non-supported device Hulu shouldn't show up at all in the Market on the Prime and via a PC it should show up but not let you download because your device will be greyed out. Hulu runs two checks before it'll play a video: 1) the build.prop reflects a supported device, and 2) it checks for Android and says "your device is not supported" if it's detected. So if yours is the only one in existence that can run Hulu I'd guess you have a unique build.prop.
To please the people who are questioning whether what you're saying is true, you can post a screenshot of the Market on your PC showing Hulu as an installed app.

What do I need for flash videos on websites?

I'm running ICS 4.2 on my phone and I can't view flash videos on sites such as NBC.com. What do I need to fix this, I already have the flash player downloaded and installed from the market.

I tried it a couple days ago on NBC.com and the video's displayed a message saying it was not formatted for my device or something like that (was very hard to read as it was black text on a very dark background, but it was near the top of where the video image would be. Flash works fine on other sites.

I hate flash - particularly on Windows PC's where we seem to get the flash player update of the week. Yet, I can't quite seem to do without it. Inevitably I'll hit some site where I need it and just saying that I refuse to visit sites that use it won't work for me. I wish it did.
However, with Apple never supporting it on iOS and now support for it on Android going away slowly, I sure hope it dies soon. For now though, I need it.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I am aware of dolphin and the other suggestions and they are not what I am looking for. How can we fix the JB Rom for the Prime to be like the Tf300 JB Rom so flash works in the stock browser? Not a debate on flash vs html5, just need it to work for one website for a family member who needs it for their internal work site for American Airlines. Again it is working with JB for tf300, just not on Prime with the same flash package and browser.

Not sure why Flash wouldn't be working for you in the stock JB browser. As long as I have Flash 11 installed, my stock browser is rendering flash content fine. Are you certain you have the latest version of Flash installed and that the stock browser is set to always for plugins? Noticed you were looking for a FLASH check box, but you actually need to look for the PLUG-INS setting which is located in "settings" "advanced". Also some flash content doesnt work in the "on demand" mode (for instance flow player)
You can find archived Flash versions here since you can't download from play store anymore.
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
You can install these as long a you have "allow unknown sources" checked in the security settings on the Prime.

It has some built-in functions, and can be further extended with plugins to provide extra functionality...
Note:! There is some risk involved installing the driver. Your device may not boot. If you have CWM, it would be prudent to create a backup before installing !!

The flash is working perfectly for me. I used the pro version. I haven't tried the trial version. It's really fast without 3G or Wifi compared to other browsers. The only think that sucks is that you won't be able to download a thing. I think it doesn't support downloading. It's the fastest browser I have ever known if your aim of surfing the net is to browse and watch and not downloading. I have also played Zynga Poker on Facebook using this browser. It's a bit laggy coz Galaxy Y doesn't fully supports flash.

I personally preffer Opera Mini and they also seem to claim they have some sort of unique data saving technology that shrinks/compresses the usage for users using mobile data plans

What puffin and opera state is nothing new they run the data through they're servers and bring it back to you the thing about that is that sometimes it can omit a full web experience that's why I use opera mini (the smaller 1) for light tasks probably reading some info and I use dolphin for everything else

Google Play Movies HD

Anyone noticing issue's with HD play back on this tablet? I usually had an HD button to select for my HD movies and I can not find it on this new Device.
Curious if anyone else shares my experience or found a solution. Thanks!
Sent from my SM-P600 using XDA Premium HD app
[Edit] Strangely it seems to only be some movies and shows. I can go back on my Note 2 and check download sizes and this tablet is definitely getting marked as a non HD device on movies like Hangover 3, but my North America documentary will be in HD on the Tablet. Some reason different films are detecting the device differently. Going to try some more films.
[Edit 2] Now I am getting random messages that it can not fetch the license any more. Error 806
This is happening on movies that did work earlier on the device.
[Last Edit for reals] Did more digging around, for a vast majority of movies and shows on Google Play, this tablet is listed as either incompatible, or can not stream HD. Obviously this is wrong and Google will need to update their app. I've sent Google feedback on this, hopefully getting a response on when our HD tablets can actually play Googles HD movies.
Movies from the Samsung HUB do work as advertised. I've only found 720p however and those are pretty small in numbers.
Today there was an update along with the Play Store I believe and that has fixed everything. Our tablets are recognized as HD and all my license issues have been fixed.
If anyone hasn't gotten the update yet, be sure to restart your tablets to try and force the update.

just to clarify, this is a system update, or a play store app update??
It was a play store auto update. Not an OTA. We won't actually get notified it happened. The Play Store will have a menu that appears when you gesture right or press the top left icon. Once I got that the Movies & TV app worked perfect for this Tablet.

thats the new version of the play store, 4.4.21. I have that already, but my tablet still says that hd playback is not available on this device perhaps there is something else im missing?
Well all my HD movies I own will play back in HD now, with the red HD button besides the CC button. I just checked some new Releases movies and those do indeed say my Tablet is not supported for HD during the Checkout process.
But I do have new movies like The Internship and The Conjuring that play HD correctly.
I'm not sure why checkout still says our Tablets do not support HD on some films, but play HD just fine when played from My Movies.
2.7.15 is my current Movies & TV app

ok, I dont actually own any movies or rentals for the Play Store yet (I was going to spend some of the Play Store credit I just got on some) so i cant really test that. But I appreciate the input.
Not a problem! Good luck if you do buy some, I hope they play in HD for you.

Now today, my movies again refuse to play HD even though I have HD versions downloaded to the tablet. I'm just going on a limb saying that this is all some weird temperament glitch in Google's movie system. Some days it has HD, some not. Some days it can't get my license for the tablet but can for everything else, some days it does.
From everything I been able to see this is mostly on Google's end. Going off the facts that success is random.

Anyone hear anything else about this? Can't play any of my own movies on Google Play. Don't even have the HD option. YouTube doesn't even play in full hd, even thought the HQ button is clicked. Annoyed as hell..
Sent from my Big 10 inch..
Also having this issue. I have 7 HD Play Movies, not one plays streams or downloads in HD. Oddly, I have a TV series from the Play Store that plays in HD, although it's 720p. Perhaps there's an issue with 1080p content. YouTube also looks rubbish on my device. I did buy my 10.1 from the US, so I did think the issue was some kind of regional DRM problem; now I'm not so sure. I contacted Google who said the 10.1 2014 is fully supported their end, and that I should contact Samsung.
Its still been very odd and random. I been trying to complain to both Samsung and Google Play. Both insist its the fault of the other guy. Or that its some how my error with my internet bandwidth.
I am certain though its Googles fault as I have been able to get everything to randomly play HD and even start downloading HD before. Its rare, but HD does stream at times.
I've noticed that my Note 3 also will play SD instead of HD now as well. Its very annoying. I almost want to just get movies directly from Samsung now since those play HD fine. Their selection is just horrible though.
Just received this email back from Google.

What would possibly prevent our tablet from being compatible? Someone dropped the ball on this one..
Sent from my Big 10 inch..
Looking at the list of compatible devices in the link they provided, the 2014 edition is listed, so I'm not sure why they sent you that response.
As I type this, both my 2014 Note and Note 3 are playing and downloading HD. Perhaps a new update came out? Or it was internal with Google's server's as we thought.

Mine is also now working out of nowhere. Full HD in Google Play Movies and YouTube.
My video quality is still not full HD on YouTube. Can't comment on Play Movies as I don't use it.
