spy games - HTC EVO 3D

Ok im sure everyone has heard about the phone calls being recorded I was just wondering if there is software to check to see if someone is doing it to you cuz my phone been doing some off the wall stuff echo when people call me or the hear me all distorted when i exit all my apps my phone runs hot tried taking out the battery and everything else just need help

The echo on phone calls is sprint's network. Some towers are strong enough not to have that, others do. If I'm not mistaken.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App

Yea but its like every call it wasn't like the with my evo 4 g thats why I'm nervous cuz its only with my 3d

I've experienced that echo with this phone, 2 others on sprint, and while I had t-mobile. Nothing to worry about. It's a reception issue or codec issue for voice or both. I wish I could help you eliminate it. It's occurred less often for me since sprint has been upgrading their towers here.

Running hot could be anything too and that's subjective. Hearing you distorted exiting apps could be anything too. Why you jump to someone spying on you is quite a stretch. Lay off the green, it's makin ya paranoid

LOL I jumped to the spy stuff because its really bad where I'm at and I couldn't think of anything else and the running hot I can't explain like I rooted so I can force every app to close and it still acts like something is running

Same here. It's as though the Atrix isn't put in "speakerphone" mode. When I make an audio call and hold the phone to my ear and speak directly into the mic, my voice comes through clear. When I make a video call and hold the phone away from my face, my voice can't be hears at all.

why won't it stay logged in? Anyone experiencing this? I have like 400MB RAM left all the time, why would it need to be killed?

Do you have an app that Auto- Kills apps running for a long time? If so add Skype to the exception list. these things can happen with like Skype, Facebook apps and such because they always run in the background in order for you to get notifications if someone is one or messages you or something.
Absolutely no problems for me.

Can't hear other person talking

Does anyone have a problem with their EVO where when someone calls you, you can't hear them talking, but they can hear you?
Seems to happen 75% of the time for me. If try calling back once or twice, eventually it will work correctly and we can both hear each other.
I've tried upgrading the OS, PRL, etc and no difference. Running stock OS.
Anyone else?

Nope might be ur mic is dying. Did u expose it to water?

Had the same exact experience. My wife and I have same phones. When I would call her she couldn't hear me but I could hear her fine. If I repeatedly called her back eventually it would be fine. Since then we've had the update and a new Air Rave swapped. No problems as of yet.

Ya I've actually thought about that. It's strange because I guess I only cut out to where they can't hear me for only a few seconds then everything is fine. I've thought maybe I got a bad EVO because I never could get ViperRom to work like it should either, just various misc things. Oh well nothing however to throw too big a stink about.

As far as I know, no they don't all have iPhones. I'm sure a few people that I've spoken to when this has happened probably had one but I don't think it's that, like stated above, think I just might have gotten a bad EVO, either that or I get bad interference from time to time.

I don't think so. Nothing more than wet hands if anything.
And once it 'connects', it's fine for the entire phone call. It NEVER cuts out after the call is properly established.

That might be an idea if I can't get it fixed. Looks like Air Rave is ~$100 one time, and then $5/month which then gives you unlimited calling? That might work...

SPYWARE, are you safe?

So I think someone installed spyware on my phone. Is there anyway I can get rid of it, prevent it, and blank the persons blank for doing? The software has to leave a trail of some kind, doesn't it? Don't laugh, it's pretty easy to get on your phone from what I have read, and they can get a lot of info from your phone, listen to your calls, location updates, read your texts and emails, no good or cool.
It'd help if you say what app it is it what evidence there is spyware on your phone

If I am being spied on, how would I know what app it is? Proof? People know things they shouldn't, I'm not going into details, trust me. I believe they listen to the people I speak with thru my phone and one other persons phone close to me. Information these other people always seem to know about us when they shouldn't know. Phone gets warm for no reason, weird numbers, noises and beeps during calls, sometimes we each hear other people talking during our calls. My girl and I both have DNA's, it also happened when we had RAZRs and Fascinates. Her phones, the battery always dies a lot faster than my phones always did. My phone is 90% of the time on wifi, hers not, and her data is always high, she doesn't use her data at all, other than a few emails here and there.

Or the fbi is watching you. But I'd go with the former over the latter.

Well if people know things they shouldnt I'd check the people you told lol. The other person you were calling most likely told. If it happens on every phone then that's not any spyware on your phone. I know you guys think I'm nuts, but look up cellphone spyware. I wish I could say who is doing it, but that is sensitive info. And it isn't necessarily bad things they know. Just when we go over there they always bring up stuff my girl and I just talked about. When are phone are on us they never ever call. If we both leave our phones at home for a few hours, like when we take the bike out, all the sudden they call constantly. There's tons more. I just want to know how to remove it and prevent it.
It's there, it's real, and all too easy these days to spy on someone using there cell. I've read it can reinstall it self after you factory reset your phone and it is virtually undetectable. Every time we buy new phones the person I speak of sends a text with a pic, after that we never get texted by them. Or after an update (OTA) or otherwise. I was just hoping I could get some real sound advice being this is XDA.
Check it out, I was thinking about doing it to the suspected persons

You still need to install it on the phone. You can't push it on the phone without you knowing. Like it says on the website you linked to, it's either a link you need to click on, a qr code, or copy the install file from a computer via usb.
Either way, just do a factory reset.

Doesn't do it when I listen to the pre recorded visual Voice mail messages. And it will be fine on a call for a minute and then start acting up. I notice on my wife's Galaxy S3 that when the signal is bad and stays to break up it kinda sounds similar to what I'm hearing, just not so noticeable. I'm wondering if it's these upgrades they are doing here. Funny how pre recorded messages don't have this issue but when I'm on a call it does
Sent from my SM-N900P using xda app-developers app
Most likely a network issue. I know when they are working on towers they offload on to other towers and that causes all kind of problems. Id say give it sometime. If you have the TEP on the phone hardware issues are covered for free.

I'm gonna wait until the end of the week to see if it goes away. what's the chances of getting 3 defective notes all with the same issue? I know it can't be hardware because phone calls make this sound whether it's through the headpiece or the speaker phone. But music and other apps that use the speaker don't have this noise.
I'm thinking it may have something to do with the radio. May need to be updated.
If I get a 4th note and it does it then I know it's something network related. My wife's Galaxy S3 isn't as pronounced but you can kinda hear it. The note 3 is just more noticeable

Just a heads up,
I was looking at a co-workers G2 on Verizon today and heard the same cracklin' when making a call, it wasn't that way on messages or audio.
But when making a call it had the same issue. I did not try making a wifi call.
She thought it was just her who heard the noise but is super irritated now. She is looking into the LG Optimus G Pro on AT&T.
I have the same crackling irritating popping noises while making and receiving phone calls. It happens if I am using the phone earpiece, speakerphone, earbuds, and also on Bluetooth. When playing music on ear buds I do not hear the crackling and popping irritating noise. That sucks because I really like the phone but I run a business and I really need to use the device as a phone. I will definitely be returning this phone in a couple days if the issue does not get any better which I'm 99 percent sure it won't on its own.

I am in the situation as yourself. I also run a business and since I am on wifi 95% of the time. I already am using Line2 and for me and how I use my devices Line2 has been a life saver. Especially when I at a clients place up in the hills where there is no hope of a signal.
Hope it gets better for you and the rest of the folks out there.

Microphone issues?

I have consistent problems on speakerphone with people saying they can't hear me. I had a bear motion slim case on it but I'm not clear if that is creating any issues. Is there a hidden microphone anywhere that the case may be covering? Or do I need a warranty replacement?

It's weird, I've had certain people tell me this as well but others can hear me fine. Not sure what's going on, but I know that when I'm talking with someone who has trouble hearing me, if I put in my headphones it solves the problem. Maybe something to do with noise cancellation/echo reduction?
Do you have a case on or anything? I only have the issue on speakerphone.

Bump. I tested with skype audio test last night with no issues. I can't figure out if there is really an issue

Stop trying to find issues where there isn't. The speaker on this device is horrible, so who would actually persistently talk using it

That makes zero sense. Especially since I'm referring to the microphone

I get the same complaint. Not sure why. My case doesn't cover the microphone from what I can tell

I've been messing around with this more and it seems like the bottom mic on my device is really directional in the sense that it only seems to pick up audible sound when you talk right into it. It's definitely barely picking up anything when the phone is held normally as if for a call. The speakerphone mic seems to work fine.
EDIT: I finally took it back to the store and swapped it out for a new one. It was definitely a hardware issue as my new one sounds much better.
Same issue here and I'm not using a case.
On speakerphone only, I get complaints every single time that people can't hear me to the point where I have to switch back to handheld.
Noise reduction currently off but it's the same either way. Gonna pop into Tmobile on the way home and see what they say.
Anyone else get a warranty replacement?

Go into voice recorder and be sure the microphone setting is set to 'normal'.

For those who have a problem with this, I've been dealing with this issue since day 1. It seems to be a T-mobile problem and NOT a problem with the phone itself.
The software is set up as half-duplex and not full-duplex as it should.
That means that if the person on the other end of the line is talking or making noise and you start talking, they're not going to be able to hear you. I've tried this with my phone and a replacement phone. Same thing happened. That means that you will continuously cut in and out.
I'm currently talking to T-mobile and they have a ticket open with me to work with developers on the issue. I have no idea what happened but, as someone who uses speakerphone all the time, it's a MAJOR pain.
If anyone has more experience with this sort of issue, I'd love to hear it.
Hi Guys,
I'm having a problem along the same lines. I moved to Tmo a month or so ago when the S5 came out (ported from Sprint). The first couple of days I had great coverage but intermittently when I talked to someone, they'd tell me it sounded like I was in a tin can. At times it was hollow or echo-y. It kind of stopped, but then started up again. To me, everything sounds perfect. Now, randomly when I talk to someone, sometimes they can hear me without any problem, and sometimes they can barely understand me because of so much feedback coming through (even though I can hear them perfectly).
Tmo gave me a new sim card to use and said to wipe my cache to make sure everything was good. I did that and it worked great for about a day. Now, it's random again. I call land line and it sounds like I'm in a tin can and when they talk it's lots of feedback. I call friend on att and they have loads of feedback when they talk but perfectly fine on my end. I called someone on Tmo and had the HD appear on the call and it sounded like he was talking through a pillow.
It's so weird I can't figure out what's going on, but it's getting really annoying trying to talk to someone and end up calling them multiple times just to see if I can get a clear connection.
Bluetooth in my car seems to work perfectly for each end, though.
I'm on stock rom, rooted w/ philz recovery, and have not updated to the new ANES.
I don't use a case.
Wondering if that would help out.
Check this out might explain the mic issue
