Updated Superuser to 3.1.3, added devhost mirror

Busybox has been updated to 1.20.2
The Venue has now migrated over to the new Superuser.zip.
The previous version shared with the Streak 5 has now been renamed Superuser-legacy.zip and is no longer tested to be compatable with the Venue.

Well - NO you don't have to be rooted to install the superuser.zip, you need StreakMod Recovery which you install in fastboot mode. Flashing files with fastboot does not require root.
Get in fastboot mode, run command to flash streakmod recovery, then get in streakmod recovery to flash superuser.zip

Remember that the key to this sequence is to NOT let the Streak boot normally after installing StreakMod, boot using fastboot reboot and hold both volume buttons to enter recovery.

Hi!
Sorry for late reply not so active on these forums anymore
Anyways, this tool allows you to install "cwm recovery" on stock rom.
To install CWM recovery follow the instructions.
To get to actual recovery menu tap back-button rapidly directly when phone is booting.

[Recovery]Clockwork Mod 6.0.1.2

BETA WARNING:
This version of CWM is now in beta testing.
I need user reports of what zips are compatable/not-compatable.
I will remove the beta tag once I have a fair idea of what update zips are/arnt compatable with CWM 6.0.
For any developers: I will be providing instructions/binaries to work with CWM 6.0 soon.
They will likely not be compatable with streakmod.
Once CWM is out of beta, I would strongly recommend everyone migrating off of streakmod.

Notice:
What to do if your nandroid freezes at /cache, /data, /datadata:
Flash update-CWMfixer-1.zip as an update zip and try again.
OR: Factory reset and manually restore data (Not recommended)
This is portrait only, unless someone is willing to give me code to rotate it 270 degrees it will remain as so
Removing the battery door while recovery is active will cause it to exit (this is intentional, it is also part of the stock 407 kernal)
Streakmod nandroids are not compatable with CWM. You may be able to get it to work by copying the contents of "rom_backup" to "clockworkmod", but this is not supported
If you get errors about not being able to mount your SD card, power the device off and remove the battery for a moment, then try again
Notes about sd-ext:
If you get the error message while nandroid: "sd-ext.img not found. Skipping restore of /sd-ext." This is normal, as sd-ext is an optional partition.
If you get the error message while formatting: "E: format_volume: make_ext4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2", same as above

you must moving up and down till it shows "BACK menu button enabled" or "BACK menu button disabled"
and is there anying new in CWM6007?
i had posted CWM5027 chinese version
most functions are working well
what about change it back to english version?
and i had seen a special version of CWM4010
it has a new function “advanced backup”
i think it's very useful

no
If by advanced backup you mean selective backing up of partitions.
I had considered that many months ago, but I didnt add it because it wouldnt matter. (I never had a fully working CWM previously)
CWM never liked booting on the S5 for whatever reasons.
Adding in selective backups shouldnt be terribly difficult, but I'm not really interestested in modding CWM, (excluding the S5) all my devices have working CWM 6.0.0.x and the source code is available for anyone interested.
I'm trying to modify CWM as little as possible to make it easier for future changes. CWM 6.0 was only released a couple days ago and we're already at 6.0.0.7+
The biggest change in 6.0 is "dedupe" where nandroids are base + delta so if you constantly nandroid, the deltas become very small.
Besides the screen I would assume everything works and it would be ready to replace streakmod, but the screen issue is very annoying.
Also to note: I will attempt to port TWRP later, as it DOES support RGB_565 displays still, and since we have an ICS kernel, it might just work.
somewhere from CWM 5.5 -> 6.0 RGB_565 displays took a back seat to RGBX_8888/BGRA_8888 displays and I guess wasnt really fixed.
Edit: The other major feature is that I dont have to make multiple versions of every update zip.
Currently it's S5/V and S7 and nothing for the S10.
Streakmod doesnt have much in /sbin, CWM has busybox, and a bunch of filesystem utils.
so instead of needing:
Code:
mount("MTD", "system", "/system"); (for the S5/V)
mount("ext4", "/dev/block/mmcblk3p3", "/system"); (for the S7)
mount("ext4", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p3", "/system"); (for the S10)
Or make a new one for each specific device I'm gonna support
I can do
Code:
run_program("/sbin/busybox", "mount", "/system");
and that will work with any device with any device with a recent enough recovery
Edit2:
If and when I get CWM 6.0 working on the S5, I will be making all future update zips "generic" as in they should be able to install on any device (assuming they're relevent for that device)
Examples of such are: Superuser.zip, Gapps
Edit3:
After doing a test zip, I can in fact use the same mount script on all 4 devices instead of needing 3 seperate ones.
Unfortunately like previously mentioned they simply dont work on streakmod as it doesnt have busybox.
Edit4:
I will be internally using CM6.0 now, regardless of if I can fix the framebuffer issue.
Any future S5-specific update zips will be deemed "legacy update" zips
I will be updating to CWM 6.0.0.9 as soon as it's available.
Also: I have no idea of older update zips (from whoever) will work on CWM 6.0, there's many changes to the scripting from 1.8 -> 6.0 (streakmod is based on a very old CWM) and even edify based update.zips may not work if they're using an old enough binary.
Updated to 6.0.0.9 now,
there's no changes specific to the S5 though, so everything prevous still applies

maybe this will help people to test new recovery without PC
just flash it in recovery as ROMs
2 files?
I assume recovery6009a.zip is the CWM recovery...what is the other one?
The other one is likely streakmod from the version number
I think I got it
Edit: I am in the middle of testing it, but I think I will be able to release a full version soon
CWM 6.0.1.0 is now released an in the beta phase!
What I need tester reports of:
flashing recent roms
flashing random (things you would normally expect to flash in streakmod) zips
fac resetting
I believe nandroids are already reliable, but any reports to re-confirm/deny would be welcomed.
USB mounting works fine
I will be migrating all my utilities to be CWM compatable and marking streakmod-compatable versions as "legacy"
ALL HAIL TheManii!!!
Dude, you are god! THANK YOU!
what are the odds of a flashable Zip version? Can't wait to try this out too!

[GUIDE] B13 Chinese A2017 root and unlock bootloader, TWRP, Xposed

This is for Marshmallow B13. However, I can confirm that installing twrp using tenfars tool still works even on latest B17 nougat or B08 mifavor 5.
However, some users don't have luck with it.
I advise to check first on Axon Toolkit located here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/tool-axon7toolkit-t3573108
I made this guide for users who haven't unlocked and rooted their A2017 B13 chinese version.
After reading so many guides here from @tenfar, @DrakenFX, and many others, I finally unlocked bootloader, rooted, installed TWRP and Xposed.
I take no responsibility if anything happens to your phone while doing this process. Just follow every step stated here and hope you don't mess around. Please READ all the instructions here first before doing anything.
Backup all your important data before you do any steps below. This process will delete all contents of your phone except external sdcard.
Step 1: Download the zip file and extract all files to your local disk in one folder.
TWRP recovery 3.1.0-0
axon7root.zip
TWRP_UnlockBootloaderPackage_by_DrakenFX.zip do not extract this file.
Step 2: Enable USB debugging and OEM unlocking under Developer options. to show Developer options, go to Settings, About phone, tap Build Number 7x.
Step 3: Open Windows Explorer and browse to the folder where you extracted the files downloaded above. Press and hold SHIFT key then right click and choose Open Command Window here. type:
Code:
adb reboot edl
This will reboot the phone in edl mode where it's just black screen.
Step 4: Install the Qualcomm's driver .
Download Qualcomm driver to your local disk ,extract and install it
Qualcomm 9008 driver : http://d-h.st/35tx
in the install process choose WWAN, the first option.
Alternative: you could just also install the native drivers provided by the phone. If you have done step 2 already, just long press Power button for about 10seconds to reboot to its system. Once booted, connect your phone to your pc via usb and swipe down from the notification. Choose "install drivers" from the connect options. Open your Windows Explorer and find the new drive containing the driver. After installing, repeat step 3.
Step 5 : open your PC's device manager and find out the com port number which your phone is from COM ports & LPT tree.
Code:
Usage Example: axon7root.exe -p COM4 -b -r
Options:
-p Port number eg: COM8 or 8
-b write boot.img only
-r write recovery.img only
-d dump boot.img and recovery.img from phone(not impl yet)
Step 6: in the command window from step 3, type:
Code:
axon7backup.exe -p COM# -d
replace # with the number of your COM PORT.
This will save the backup files for you stock boot and recovery image.
Step 7: to install TWRP, type:
Code:
axon7root.exe -p COM# -r
Step 8: reboot to TWRP by holding POWER + UP buttons.
Optional:
Step 8a: Copy twrp-3.1.0-0-ailsa_ii.img to your sdcard/extsd. Update to latest TWRP. Install -> IMG (lower right button) -> choose twrp-3.1.0-0-ailsa_ii.img. (Don't reboot to system yet)
Step 8b: From the TWRP, find Reboot to recovery. verify that you have version 3.1.0-0 already.
Step 9: Copy TWRP_UnlockBootloaderPackage_by_DrakenFX.zip to your sdcard/extsd.
Step 10: Back-up and pull current fastboot image. Type:
Code:
adb shell dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/fbop of=/sdcard/fbop_lock.img
adb pull /sdcard/fbop_lock.img
Step 11: Flash/Install TWRP_UnlockBootloaderPackage_by_DrakenFX.zip. (do not reboot yet)
Step 12: Type:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Step 13: Now let's Unlock the Bootloader. (THIS WILL WIPE DATA+INTERNAL STORAGE)
Type:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
Confirm yes from your phone.
Step 14: You'll boot in TWRP. once there do the following:
Code:
* tap CANCEL
* tap WIPE
* tap FORMAT DATA and Follow the Instructions
Step 15: Once done, REBOOT system. Follow the setup wizard to gain access to your phone. enable USB debugging again.
Optional: To install root, Boot to recovery again and install/flash SUPERSU 2.79. download at UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.79-20161211114519.zip and copy to your sdcard.
To install Xposed (for MM only), flash xposed-v87-sdk23-arm64.zip and install the apk XposedInstaller_3.1.1.apk.
Do not REBOOT after installation of Supersu and Xposed. Instead, go to Terminal and type:
Code:
reboot disemmcwp
Credits to all the great minds here in xda for doing all their best.
UPDATE: TWRP flashable zips available. Credits to @parazite69 and the russians for these.

If somebody can compile B13 for TWRP will really help us.
Thanks!
You're right. You'll need stock recovery to do a full update though. I haven't backed up my B11 stock recovery but I do have the B13 stock boot and recovery. Message me if you want those files.
Sadly no one else wants to make a twrp update for B13. And I don't know how. I already asked from draken a couple of months ago but i think he has never got a time for it.
Can you help me,

I need a working recovery the files from here. Will try reinstalling b10 and then try find b11 for the current recoveries to see if any work instead of giving me a black recovery screen.
Hello was wondering about the terminal reboot portion. I've been rooted with SU for a few days now can I just flash Xposed and install the apk without the worry of using terminal? Thanks

try pressing just the power and Up buttons until it reboots and release when you see the ZTE logo. that should enter you into recovery.

I need a working recovery the files from here. Will try reinstalling b10 and then try find b11 for the current recoveries to see if any work instead of giving me a black recovery screen.

the links were up okay as I opened them now. you may want to disable your antivirus too since this will trigger it false positive.
also, all the files I used were posted in the links i posted. credits to the owners btw.

Hello was wondering about the terminal reboot portion. I've been rooted with SU for a few days now can I just flash Xposed and install the apk without the worry of using terminal? Thanks

have you tried your method without the terminal command? personally, I don't know if that works without the command but I just used it since it won't harm anyway.

Great find! Do you mind if I put this in my OP so that others can use it too? Seems like a lot of other users can't manage to get my method well.

Thanks for replying. The link works until you try to download it. When you get past the ads, you get to this http://fs1.d-h.st/download/00237/Ienb/axon7backup.zip Did you also try downloading it? Either I am doing something wrong? Thanks.

Yes I did download my files using those links. Try installing adblock plus on your browser. Or try other browsers.

It's probably just my pc or browser. It's ok though since I managed bootloader unlock and flash twrp with this guide instead:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/edl-emergency-dl-mode-twrp-unlock-t3553514/
Thanks for your help though
I have one (stupid) question for which I can't find answer: I stuck at step 2 when I need to enable OEM unlocking. Problem is that some PIN is required but I don't know it and don't know where to find it? Many thanks!

[Root SM-A320F /FL/Y] Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 - The most advanced 4.7 inch Samsung yet

This device is more reasonable to buy as it is small and elegant at a decent price.
It is IP68 water-friendly device and the display is much better - higher FPS than on higher resolution OLEDs - good for action games.
Root using CF-autoroot
Download the file from CF-auto-root repository:

Unzip the file
Run Odin from the unzipped folder
Browse by clicking AP button the *.md5 file from the unzipped folder
Connect the A320F in download mode (start the device by holding Power+Home+Volume DOWN)
After starting the device in download mode, press Volume UP one to allow the download
A new COM port should be recognized by Odin after the device is connected via USB
Press Start button in in Odin
Rooting will take place automatically and the device will restart twice.
After the first restart you can disconnect the cable from the PC.
Second restart might take a few minutes.
After that you will find the SuperSU app installed.
Other, more complicated methods:
Rooting using custom recovery:
You will need:
SM-A320F with Exynos CPU (waiting for updates on other model)
Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 on your device
Odin v3.0.4 (download link below)
Team Win Recovery Project - TWRP (download link here) or ClockWork Mod Custom Recovery - CWM (download link below)
(Recommended custom recovery: Team Win Recovery Project :good: - more features, newer, works better)
SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815 (latest ZIP version available today - download link below)
SM-A320F TWRP & CWM recovery installation procedure:
On your device enable developer options and then disable OEM lock (FRP lock) for the device to allow you to flash custom recovery
(Activate OEM unlock from developer options menu)
Boot your device in Odin downlaod mode (hold VolDOWN + Home + Power)
Flash the *.tar file of TWRP or for the CWM using Odin's PDA option
(Uncheck Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time)
Force reboot your device (hold VolDOWN + Power for 10 seconds)
SM-A320F SuperSU ZIP installation procedure:
Copy SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip on a microSD card (trough USB data cable or any other method)
Unplug the USB data cable from the phone and shut down the device
Start your device in Recovery mode (Hold VolUP + Home + Power)
(RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCED - this warning is normal when booting into CWM custom recovery but not with TWRP)
The recovery menu will appear
> Using TWRP Recovery:
Swipe to allow modifications
Tap on Install
Tap on Select Storage at the bottom and select MicroSDCard then tap OK
Browse for the SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip and tap on it to install it
Swipe to install SuperSU (confirm Flash)
> Using CWM Recovery:
Select Install zip update package (use VolDOWN/VolUP to navigate and Power to select)
Select Choose zip from sdcard
Select SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip and press Power to install Super SU
The installation will perform automatically and the device will reboot twice.
First reboot will take longer. Please be patient. After the second reboot you will have SuperSU and root.
Downsides/bugs:
Knox will be tripped the second you flash a custom recovery (Warranty void: 1 - non reversibile)
(That means that you will lose the warranty for your device and that can not be changed)
(Perhaps that's why I personally can't invest more than $300 in a Samsung cellphone ever)
You won't be able to use Knox-related functions including Secure Folder ever again
Because of a SuperSU bug you won't be able to use Smart View (Miracast, project the screen to smart TV) unless you make an edit as follows:

Use a file browser such as Root Browser and go to the root of your device then locate the "System" folder and find build.prop and edit it with any application that can edit it and find the bottom line, right at the edge of the bottom line you need to press enter twice and then paste this:
wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable
And then save it and reboot your device.

Ok good then I will remove my earlier post. I don't have the device so I can't try it.
I tried again this morning with success!
I can have access to recovery but not to sd card (internal or no)... so I can't root the device.
Any idea?

Format the SD card on your PC using FAT32 option (use an USB adapter).
Copy the zip on the card, Insert it into the phone and reboot into recovery to test.
Yes... that's what I did. I found the solution into Google.
Thanks anyway for your help.
Do you think that it will be possible to install TWRP instead of CWM in recovery?

Yes. You can flash twrp in cwm and reboot to recovery. Twrp will be there instead.
wich version to choose?
Sorry. There's no twrp for a320 yet, but in general it's working fine to flash new recovery with existing one.
Hey guys, I will receive my a3 2017 soon and I was wondering if it would be preferable to root it now than waiting for the update to Nougat and re-root it then... Any idea when the update will be available for this phone? I was also wondering if I should use a specific brand or type of micro sd card with this phone?
Thanks
