Anyone try the Incipio Feather for our GSII? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

There's no cases in stores around me (Bay Area) because they didnt sell the phone here so i have to buy one online. Anyone have this case? Is it good? Mic holes? Thanks
http://www.myincipio.com/Samsung-Galaxy-S-II-ATandT-Cases-Accessories/Incipio-Samsung-Galaxy-S-II-ATandT-feather-Ultralight-Hard-Shell-Case.asp
The case keeps the super slim profile of the phone, adding no bulk at all. Keeps scratches off the back but i think if you drop this you'll be in trouble, i like it though. Also the screen protector they send with the phone is the International version with the home button cut out.

finally! ive been waiting for the feather to come out for our device. ive had this for my iphone and its my fav case ever.
according to the pics from the site, doesnt look like any of the mic holes are covered even on the noise cancellation. the cut out looks big enough.

I have the other case they sell and it is an amazing case but the power button is hard to press. It is a very noticeable difference and I'm still deciding if its a deal breaker or not. You have to press it from the right angle every time and it is annoying.

Looks like the top is is actually open. I think I'ma try this one.

Too bad they don't offer white or red -- I'd be all over it in a heartbeat...
EDIT: I'm going to go ahead and try the blue one.
If anyone is interested, there's a 15% coupon floating around: FBFAN2011
(Note if you just add the item to your cart and you try to pay there is no place to enter the promo code, but if you add to your cart, browse the site a little more, and then click 'view cart' at the upper right hand as if you were going to edit the order, you can then add the code -- at least that is what worked for me)!

Looks tempting - if anyone can compare with the Casemate barely there and/or the Rearth Slim I'd appreciate it - I've got both of those but I'm always willing to upgrade

Looks like ill be getting it then

Ordered mine on Saturday, got the shipping confirmation today. Hope to get it by the end of the week!

FYI- I recently got the casemate barely there and despite what I read the top is cut properly for our i777 top mic, just like the pic posted above.
Hope that may help some who were unsure about it.

Mine should be here today

Would love to see some pictures when you get it

Just got it now, im going to update the OP when the pics finish uploading.

Thanks for sharing, seems like a cool case.

Thanks for the pictures.
I'm a little bummed out because I thought the sides went around to the front a little more. Based on Picture 3 in the OP, it looks like the screen will sit flush on a surface if it's placed faced down. That's one thing I really liked about my Case Mate case right now.
My case comes in on Friday, I'm hoping it works out ok.

Sorry, wrong case comment

I too wish it had the lay on the table design

Well I got my case in and tried it out. Sure enough, it doesn't fit quite right on the bottom part of the phone. I'm really disappointed, I think that is a deal breaker for me. I don't want to have to worry about my phone screen getting scratched up due to the poor fit. I also suspect this will make the phone susceptible to falling out of the case as well.
Bummer.

you should probably try to exchange for another one. can you take some pics of how it doesnt fit quite right? im about to order one but if its a bad batch, im gonna wait a bit before i order.
i have the same model for my iphone and love it. i have 4 different color. this model doesnt wrap around to the front and create a lip. its pretty much just a thin plastic skin for the phone.

Here's what my case looks like.
I used the case tonight and it feels like the phone pops out of the case. It seems like the area that going around the bottom of the phone and the bump. When I squeeze the sides, it feel like it gives a little bit and somewhat clicks to look more like the top of the case, but it doesn't stay.
I'm emailing Incipio to see what they can do. I don't really want to get the other case, so I will probably just return it.

That is, in my opinion, the best silicon case for the wizard!

I paid about 30$ for it, and it came with a nice wrist strap. For me it's ideal because I can work with the wizard's keyboard perfectly, the protection is good for the device and excellent for the screen. Sadly the only color I could pick was white.. The only problem is that apparently I've got a defected one, because the back part won't stick to the device (the front sticks as it should, so I believe that after replacing the back part it will also work. I use a double-sided duct tape in the mean while)

Always makes me wonder, what keeps the case on, on both sides? There just doesn't seems to have places to grip on.
It's semi-rigidized, so the frame around the device is made of plastic and coated with silicon. The frame has small clasps that keep the case on the device. Actually one was broken so I'm holding it with the duct tape and going to replace it today. These are the clasps:
They look flimsy but they're OK.
Cool...
Hey...Where did you find that? I have been looking for a case like that everywhere...ok, obviously not everywhere or I would have found it...all I have been able to find were cases for the cingular 8125...could you post the link please? thanks...oh one more thing, does it come off pretty easily?
I read somewhere awhile back that somebody had dyed their clear silicone cover
They used some dye that can be found at most stores(Walmart, Target, etc.)
I dont think it was food dye...maybe something along the lines of clothing dye.
Anyway, they put this tablet of dye in warm water, then placed the silicone cover inside and then left it in there for several hours.
It came out looking great....I think the guy had done some using black, blue, and red.
I Found It...
Thanks to Aviv for a little help in the right direction...
http://pdaden.com/shop/cart.php?target=product&action=view&product_id=18120&substring=wizard
just search for wizard and scroll down to the bottom of the screen.
My long search is over...it's only $24 with international shipping...Thank you so much Aviv
The front part is held tight, but the rear doesn't, at least mine. With the duct tape it's OK.
Well good idea for a silicon case, but looks forced. Also I prefer the PD'air aluminium cover, really protects the phone. Have dropped it several times by mistake and (phew) phone still works.
I have the aluminum case also, it is kinda bulky. But aside from that I think that it feels odd using it. Having to open it just to use the touch screen, not to mention the keyboard, is a little much for me. I have dropped mine plenty of times with out any case and it still works fine (scares the daylights out of me when it happens though).
Aluminum cases are bulky and heavy. With this silicon case I can work with the wizard without giving up protection, it's always inside. Furthermore, the silicon case is nice to hold, even better then a naked wizard. It won't slip and it's soft to touch.
hmm whats those yellow things on ur keyboard
Hebrew letters.
Anyone tried this with the Cingular 8125 version. It's more rectangular. Kinda of uglier... I just shipped the back case and I think I'd rather get a silicon case but I want one that's made for the cingular version.
This is the closest that I have seen...only problem is that it doesn't allow the keyboard to slide open. The 8125 seems to have the most options as far as silicon cases though so you might check around.
http://www.boxwave.com/products/flexiskin/flexiskin-cingular-8125_1053.htm
Did anyone else get this case yet?
It pretty good but I'd like to get some more opinions before buying it.
It's on order. I'll give you my feedback when it arrives.

nice looking!
Dammit. I wish I had one of those before I dropped my phone so many times

If anyone has tried these, please review.
Thanks.
i bought the one listed above. it's okay, still is a bit bulky.. fitment is descent.. feels a little lose. i might just buy a new oem faceplate instead
you mean the rubberized one? does it fall off? does it provide protection?
the oem faceplate seems like just a replacement for the original housing?
what would be the point? to save the original for resale?

Please give a review I am considering this one too.
WOW...It will be very nice to be a bier for my dead herald.
Black, rubberized version, came same week, 10 bucks shipped, best case I ever seen snaps right on, skin close, thin, looks awsome, as if it was part of the design, NO TMOBILE LOGO!!!, no interfereance with opening the keyboard and a small difference with access to side buttons like camera, etc,. still comfortable, and in my opinion good for preventing accidental pressing...
Just too bad the invisible shield didn't come on time for my relative to bring it here... Then I would feel all around protected with the best there is.
Upgrade to Touch Flow 2.3 (Thanks to Itje!) bricked twice, stuck on Tmobile screen. Reason was expected since Vista is known to brick. The link to Modaco didn't have any possitive effect. Successful upgrade from my XP machine, first try.
The only issue now is that sometimes it is found to be turned off when I don't remember turning it off, usually when I take it out of my pocket.
And when I try to set up Windows Live Mail it just goes to home screen, which sucks since I want Live Mail on it. Any suggestions are appreciated.
I overclocked to 247 and Skype mobile works great. Just took a while to find the 2.2 Low CPU version... http://www.skype.com/download/skype/mobile/21beta.html It says needs 400 mhz, but worked fine without overclock...
Was surprised that Battery Status program was in the WIndows folder and no shortcuts... How are shortcuts made anyway?
In general very happy with the machine!
Any suggestions appreciated...

Avoid the metal cases. Had one for a few months for my Wing, signal strength is knocked down (with associated drop in battery life since the cell radio has to work harder, 25% reduction in battery life for me!), Bluetooth range drops to only about 5 feet before static creeps in, etc.
The protection is good with the metal cases, but you pay a high price in performance for the protection.
Black rubberized case in Tmobile holster?
Those of you who got the Black Rubberized Case, is the case thick enough to protect the protruding Green/Red call buttons from being pressed when they're in the OEM Tmobile holster? Pictures on ebay don't show the sideways view, so I can't tell how thick they are. thanks

Suggestions for one piece hard plastic case

Hi All,
Could someone link me to a one piece case that is made out of hard plastic?
I've searched over 1000 on ebay and couldnt find any!
I like the hard plastic 1 piece case since they are usually slim.
Thank you!
Sprint has one! I finally found one! its 28 dollars tho. Only comes in purple but has kick stand on it! it is made by Body Glove, I went to their site and they dont even have the Evo 3D listed =\

I got the red Body Glove and love it. I generally don't do cases but once I slid it on I couldn't take it off. Sorry don't have a picture. It was 28 bucks I think but got it for 20 with my discount. Got it at the sprint store.
Bought one (pink) for the wife today. It was $24.99 at my local Sprint store, fit nice and tight. I like that you can prop it up either way in landscape mode, so charging while "kicked up" is possible.

I ordered the green thru your site.
The site was dog slow, i was afraid paypal was gonna time out on me. I was starting to wonder if i tried to order right as someone started scheduled maintenance or something.
But it appears to have gone thru, so now it's time to wait and see.
my only concern is that if these (or any) cases trap heat. I sorta like having the exposed metal bezel that seems to behave as a heatsink. Either way I'm glad to have a device that isn't a slider so i have a lot to choose from.
I personally would love to find something similar to the iLuv snap-on cases for the ipad and ipod touch. they cover the back and corners and sit flush with the screen. But for $9 I can't go wrong.
Got my TPU case today. Wish i knew it was local, i could have probably picked one up same day.
but shipping was extra quick, and the was exactly what i was hoping it would be. Firm and flexible, not squishy like a silicon case. The fit is real tight and everything lines up real well. The top camera hole is ever so slightly off-center, but is barely noticeable and does not affect functionality at all. You would really have to stare at it to see it.
The case itself is glossy and not sticky, but still has plenty of grip. I could see it getting slippery with greasy fingers.
The firmness is reassuring that it won't pop off. It reminds me a lot of the iLuv case I had on my ipod touch before i switched to a snap-on back cover.
Overall I think the TPU case is a great value. I hope the company can remain profitable at this pricepoint, but given that most cases seem to start at $20, I think there's room to grow and still compete.

Platinum's Pseudo Active Case

Good stuff. Made by Seidio, but just branded Platinum. They had a name for it... Like a series. Instead of Active, it had it's own name, but I forgot it...

Oooohhh, do like. So far this is the only Evo 3D case I actually like. I'll look it up. I'll probably buy one next time I get paid.

Lucky. Wish I didn't live an hour away from the nearest Best Buy lol
Mine has blue surface cases $29.99 and black surface cases with holster $34.99...
The Cruiser was black only, no holster $34.99...
The Heavy Duty one was black with holster. $49.99
I can't quite tell from the photos. Are the buttons covered completely? They have them in stock at both BBY's near me, and I might pick one up. Thanks
The only openings on the case are the screen/face, 2D/3D toggle switch, earphone jack and little mic opening.
Thanks Chris
i got the "rugged" version of this at best buy but returned it.. the fabric on the holster was messed up..
also, the case felt cheap.. i had the same case i got from them for the Evo and that one was good, loved it...
i have been a sedio fan for a while.. easy case to take off and put on.. i like to have the phone naked when i am phone. the otter box defender i got now sucks to take off!!! like the case but its a pain to take off.. not to mention the holster does fit the belt i use since its a wide riggers belt.
but i will be getting the sedio once its out and hope casualty is better than the best buy version.
Nice case but.....
I think these are nice cases, i even had one one my old evo but, if you drop it and it lands on the corner, those little claws will break. Unless they changed the plastic its made out of, that is the weak point of the case. I ended up with a ballistic on my last evo and that thing is a tank. I have the otterbox defender on my phone now. I always pic the most rugged case becase it keeps my phone in pristine condition which allows me to sell it and upgrade to the next phone for free.
yup , just as ugly (and probably as fragile) as the ones on the original evo....

Maybe some people can't handle the case. Contact Seidio, they are pretty good about it.
Maybe they don't create a quality product.
I've had a Surface and a couple Actives on my Evo. Had a Active on my Epic and never had a single issue. Maybe I baby my phones. I dunno. They've been more than great for me.

?
When did you buy your first active limited? How long did you use it? Maybe they fixed their quality issues...?
I know it wasn't only me having issues with the tabs - at the time I got on XDA/Amazon and everybody seemed to be experiencing the same thing. I started the return process and let them know that the tabs were an issue and I am sure others did as well.
I really hope they did fix this problem, because I loved the case other than that or I would have never bought a second one (I was hoping it was a fluke)
In the end I just went back to my official HTC case. I didn't like it near as much but I never had issues with it either.
Later,
Matt
I started picking them up around November 2010.

It doesn't look like it has a hole for the mic on top...
Let us know when it arrives! Kinda digging the Kiwi one lol
^^
Let us know how it works anyways. They look nice.
Seems like they didn't really edit the case and kept it same as international version which still covers up the mic? They say it's compatible with AT&T and International version so my guess is they didn't make any changes to the mic hole?
yeah i returned mine because of how it didn't change anything, the antenna slot and the mic hole
I've only seen 1 case that didn't have to modified. The AGF soft shell.
Well when it comes in I will have to see. If the case fits without an issue and it's a good fit but as said the mic hole is not lined up I will modify it and show what I did.

order from amazon, it is cheaper.
i got myself a white one
So is this case a mix of soft gel and hard plastic? Sometimes those gel cases are way way to soft and it tends to move a around a bit. Also I'm looking for something that will not add to much weight to the case. This phone is awesome its so light and I would hate to mess that up..
Pictures of phone in case with slight mod!
Here is a few shots of my case that just came in.

IMO this case is incredible. The material is the lightest, thinnest and most malleable material I have seen for a case. It does not even feel like a case is on the phone. If you don't mind a slight mod for the people looking for a case that does not disregard the slimness of the phone at all, this is definitely a good buy, and it came in like 2 days minus (Columbus Day) and the weekend.

And here my friend is your first Thanks! Thank you for the follow up. looks good
thanks for the reviews. Just placed an order for one.
I got the international version sent to me. The mic hole on top is not aligned. There is a cutout for the strap which as we know does not exist for the ATT version.
The fit is great and the material is also very good.
Will mod for mic hole but also keep an eye out for the otter box one when it is out.

Yes, As I show in the pictures the mod had to be done for the mic hole. It was very simple and you can basically follow the line on the seam with a razor blade. But as I stated this will be for people who do not want to compromise the slimness of the phone and this case is perfect for that. I know it is not as protective as an otter box but I will not be bringing my GSII to a roofing job or skydiving
Agree about keeping the slim line. Also this is rubber but an amazing texture that does not collect lint/dust and is smooth when you rub against it. Would be nice though if they made one to exact ATT specs.
Also screen protectors
I also would like to mention I purchased the Ringbo screen protectors from this site as well. 2 come in the pack for $8.99 and seem very durable.

As you can tell it shows bubbles so if you don't mind the bubbles due to adhesive settling for a couple days I recommend.
I will post a response in a few days to show the difference, as it states on the box bubbles will go away after a couple days due to adhesive settling.

Also side note, these are made for the SGH-I777 I called and asked before order. This covers the whole screen, (so no square cutout at the bottom for the International version) just an FYI
so much air bubble.. I think you applied it wrong? Dry application screen protectors air bubbles usually don't go away or much from my experience. But I'm unsure about those. I bought them too, waiting for them to arrive. Usually with dry application screen protector, once you apply it, the way it looks will be the way it looks forever ..

Woops, my bad runtohell, yes it was my mistake you are correct. They decided to place 2 films on front and back of this thing to remove and I forgot one. But I guess thats the error I make for staying up over 24 hrs.
Here is the screen protector on the phone correctly. Now if you look at the post above you can say "you're doing it wrong" and I face palmed hard.
There thats better
