Prime & Umts USB stick - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hi there,
has anyone testet to get an Umts Stück running? Because root is working now it would probably possible to usw an stick

would be interested in the Prime if this would work. Does anyone know the answer?

look here:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/asus-eee-pad-transformer-prime-forum/186701-prime-umts-stick-3.html
in german, but that should not be the problem
I tried it with a Vodafone Stick, but that doesn't get attached. If I get bored I'll try to compile the driver for mine

Depending on what model it is, it's possible it it will work without a kernel module. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1477584

just as an update:
I couldn't get my vodafone (zte K3571-Z) to work, but my Aldi one (huawei e1550) works like a charm with the prime.

just dumping a link to a forum section is not very helpful, more importantly it doesnt answer the question and its not in the spirit of the xda website.
Now the thing is i need to upgrade my rooted viewpad from 222 to 2.3 and i cant find a step by step within that link above
Can anyone help getting my viewpad to its highest level PLEASE?
I am afraid there is no possibility to have higher version than 2'2'2

Why is that?
I've seen elsewhere that they have got BBC iPlayer and Skype Video calling working all of which require 2.3 and above.
So what is it that sops the viewpad at 2.2.2 wahts the restriction as the viewpad is a fantastic piece of kit?
Why BBCi player etc will not work

I think the problem is down to the fact that the viewpad will not support Flash Player as it requires a system speed of 800Mhz but the Viewpad runs at 600 Mhz. I think this is also the reason why we cannot upgrade to 2.3. I am annoyed about thsi too as there are so many apps i want to run but all need FP.
I think that Frito is the best it can get... It's old enough, just use Kent Rom that's the best...

[Q] G3 with 900MHz vs. 2100MHz (Lenovo P780)

I'm thinking about buying the Lenovo P780 because of its huge battery (4000mAh).
http://www.etotalk.com/lenovo-p780_p3798.html
But I read that it supports 3G only on 2100 MHz and not on 900MHz.
Is this something I have to worry about? I'm living in Germany and use a surf flat provided by vodafone.
Will I have the same speed and 3G availability without 900MHz support?

Got it since yesterday and it´s working very fine also in Germany (both, data traffic and normal calls). No problems at all. Much better than the Zopo - Hero - Caesar I tried before.

I'm intrested in this lenovo p780. Is the 3G-connection ok on 2100 ? I'm living in Belgium.
Is the GPS working fine ?
Quality of the pictures 8 MP and the video ?
Thanks.
Philip
Hi neighbour,
Everything is really fine, it's a great phone. GPS, Wifi, calls, data connection, handling in general and the battery should last for at least 3 days for everybody...
The camera is better than Zopo C2, but shurely not the best in the market. There still have to be reasons for the price.
... von unterwegs mit Tapatalk und Lenovo P780...
Some european operators use 900MHz as an auxilary band for 3g.
Main frequency is 2100MHz, mainly in cities, and 900MHz covers some rural areas.
Check your operator and if you should need 900/2100MHz, there are like dozen china phones
that use that frequencies.
My ZTE v987 is one of them...

Camera is fine for me, but perhaps won´t meet your expectations if this is a main purpose.
GPS is working really fine without any problem.
Regarding loss of connection in 900 MHz I did not notice that. But I am living and working in Cologne-Düsseldorf-Wuppertal-Region with a good 2100 MHz net.

Bought it at Etotalk incl. modrom and original flip-case (great thing!) for approx. EUR 280,- incl. DHL. No (!) tax due to "gift"-option.
I tried mainly Google Maps, but also the OsmAnd+ offline maps (included in Etotalk´s modrom).
Genk? My college Didier G. is from Genk, too ... You know Norbord (former Agglo)?
New Lenovo P780 user here as well. Just got this phone today from china supplier.
As expected, no play store in there so tried download the apk and install.
Installed successful but whenever try to launch it open and then close immediately.
Can anyone help me? Thank you.
Firmware is P780_S129_130710, is there a custom ROM already somewhere?

@needrom.com are several other roms available, 1 multilanguage seems to be fine.

hi, where can you install apps on the lenovo 780, just on the internal ROM ? i read there is just a 750 Mb place for apps on it ?
can't you install apps on the external sd-card ?

I am still confident. The one and only thing I'd prefer would be a clean Android without Lenovo's variations. But that's no big issue.
You can install everything like on any other Android device. If the app allows it also on external SD.

HP Slate7 VoiceTab Ultra (7D-501L) upgrade to 4.4?

Hello,
On monday I ordered the HP Slate7 VoiceTab Ultra from HP in the Netherlands (they sell it directly to endusers). I rooted it (no problem), changed the launcher to Apex Launcher, removed the hideous icon backgrounds and now LOVE this device
As this is just a relabeled MediaPad X1... does anyone know if there is already a 4.4 version for this international 4G model?
Thanx!

Documentation that came with the phablet should have that. Sometimes LTE bands can even be listed on the box. Or, use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.simplyadvanced.ltediscovery&hl=en

[Q] Expect to be able to root the Tab 4 ?

I'm getting itchy for a new tablet. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 looks uninteresting, especially for the price. Plus, Samsung is getting more difficult to root. The forthcoming Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus is interesting, especially for the price. Although I'd have to wait until May.
The real question, is it likely that I'll be able to root the Tab 4? I'm not looking for a guarantee, just an opinion. I've never had a Lenovo android device, so I don't know how they tend to treat this question.

Although, basically every device is Rootable. Lenovo usually keeps their custom version of Android close to stock, so it shouldn't have any problems.
Still no root available?
Hi, I got my Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus today and it appears there is still no root instruction available. I tried Framaroot and KingRoot but both failed miserably. Towelroot did not even install - but I believe that one works on older Android versions only anyway.
All instructions on the Web are obviously fake and even on the Lenovo board there is nothing usable about the Tab 4...
I believe the Tab 4 is already out since a couple of month now.
Is it really possible that nobody has rooted it so far?
Does somebody here know how to root that tablet?
lenovo Tab 4 8" is a fair Tab. However browser is freezing up on the regular.

for now, I have tried all the root method none of them working. kingo. iroot. have been google all day.
I am seeking for the method as well, please help.
For Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus and Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus root is possible by unlocking bootloader, booting (not flahsing) TWRP and flashing SuperSU or Magisk. I made a howto in a german forum. I think matshias (who build TWRP for both devices) make a howto on xda in the near future.

1. You don't need a unlock code from Lenvo. The command fastboot oem unlock-go work without a code.
2. It exists TWRP for the Tablet (I linked it in my howto). The only thing is, better not to flash it, only boot it.
3. see 2.

If you are looking for a well running phone, your completely right with the P10. With its 64gb storage (expandable) and 4gb of RAM, it is fast enough and reasonably durable, thanks to its battery.
But there is no development here, as it seems like. But great phone with oreo in the near and good cameras btw.
400$ - you can also buy the Honor 9, which is nearly the same but cheaper one..
