I am wondering why the gray TFP is not available when you do a regular search. I had to do a google search to find it. It's under Other Product Categories and then Exclusive Offers categories where it can not be found by searching. It's a good thing for me since it's hard to find I was able to buy one earlier today.

It's not just the Prime I've noticed in general best buys product search blows I give it a 1 out of 10 .

I went ahead and put my order in online. I too find it odd that you must go thru the Asus site or use the SKU to search for the prime on the Best Buy site. At any rate, they quoted me an in-store pickup date of 1/14/12. Hope that actually comes to fruition.
I just got my first prime today. Everything seems fine but two stuck pixels in the center of the screen. One green, one red. None of the "fixes" I have looked up online work so I ordered up another and will return this one. I will continue this process until I get a perfect one.

Just a heads up that although this website is AsusUK, the sleeves are actually being delivered from Germany and although its says dispatched within 24 hrs it still takes several days for them to arrive.
I was thinking that for £6 UPS it should come next day. I need to read the small print more thoroughly in the future.
My order status says "In process" but when I phoned the customer service number they said it had been shipped but there are no tracking details. She said I should have it within 5 days. I would have thought the status should say shipped and I would have expected an email to tell me that too.
I have already cancelled one order from Asus Laptops after waiting 2 weeks and being fobbed off by them several times with ficticious dates.
I have now had an email from them saying it has been shipped and the order status has updated to shipped with a UPS tracking code so obviously it hadn't shipped at the point the lady said it had. Expected delivery is Thursday according to UPS website.
Yep, got my confirmation email earlier too and mine also says delivery for this Thursday!

Excellent, as i was going through checkout i paused and registered the device on vip.asus.com as itt registered a pop up with 10% off code appeared so used that for a few pounds off, top job
So what do you think of the sleeve. Mine arrived yesterday. It is OK but is not worth the price.
The one position stand is a pain since a lot of games like angry birds don't rotate so are upside down if you turn the pad upside down for the low stand position.
I will be keeping an eye out for a better one.

Well, as luck would have it, I saw a tweet today about being able to go see the transformer prime at select Gamestop locations. There were two in Colorado that were supposed to have them to demo.
I called one of them in Denver, they said they had a display unit and a unit to sale. Well, hop in the car, and now I have an Amethyst Grey 32GB sitting next to me, completely sealed.
I wanted the 64GB version, and I think I will hold for that from Amazon. I'll probably just sell this one on craigslist.
I know I'm very lucky. The first time I've ever had anything like this happen to me.

Stuck it on Craigslist. Some of the people on IRC are saying I should take a dump of the rom before I sell it. However, if I open, I can't return it. Decisions, decisions.
Just called a gamestop about 75 miles away from me & they have the 32gb champagne gold one (purple) but i'm thinking i won't ever hardly ever be looking at the back of the thing anyway lol.My Xoom stays in a gel cover or either the folio at all times..so color really shouldnt be a big deal.

Lucky Mofo. If you don't plan on keeping it, smartest move now would be to put it on eBay. I'm sure you could easily get $800 or more for it. Since it's so rare and not even officially out yet. You should contribute by dumping the rom to developers so we could have a nice headstart on developing. The sooner the better and faster we get custom roms, CWM recovery, n over clocking.
Do a system dump dude listen to them then sell it on ebay I'm sure even opened you could still get Atleast 600! Just leave the clear plastic stickers on

Aftermseeing this thread I called around to local gamestops to see if they had it. They said only the big store ones around here would have it. I found one and they said none in stock yet but they will have it on the 19th. Only thing is he said they only taking pre orders on it so once they come in, they pretty much all will be accounted for. Especially since demand is so high. He said everybody been calling like crazy and going bananas looking for that tablet. I was like I know, it's the first quad core android tablet..LMFAO

Personally if I had the dock I would sell it to him. The dock doesn't make or break a tablet for me. Hope you find one

Thanks everyone for the heads up! Just ordered from New Egg .. it won't be here by Christmas but neither will my daughter's tablet (Est delivery for tablet is the 28th)
First and foremost....I got my Prime today. Its perfect. No light leakage...No WIFI issues, GPS works, No loose screen, Update took 5 minutes and had no issues. Keep the faith people...There are good primes out there...We just see a majority of the issues here on the forums.
Now to the order of business. I am a seasonal Best Buy employee (Senior at Purdue University who works here during christmas...mainly for the sick employee discount). You CAN CURRENTLY get the Grey dock at ANY Best Buy store. They are still not available to order online and you will not find the device in the store that day, but they are obtainable. The process is as follows.
1) Simply walk into said Best Buy.
2) Head to the computer department and find someone who does not look stupid.
3) Tell them you would like to do an OMS order for the Asus transformer prime dock.
4) They will say they cant do it and cant find a SKU.
5) Give them this sku: 4175048
6) They will be able to OMS ship either to that store...or to your house.
7) Wait a week or so, depending on when you order...(Our trucks come from the Chicago warehouse every Thusday night so it totally depends on when that store gets shipments from its warehouse)
8) Recieve your dock ahead of schedule.
This does work as I have done it for myself and have a dock on our truck due this Thursday the 5th.
Just as a quick update on the units themselves...I have just today started to see them moving through RSS (our investory software). Only 2 of them were shipped to the largest store in central Indiana which I bet are OMS or some sort of .Com orders. You are not able to OMS the actual tablet.

Depends on when they get their weekly inventory shipments in. Usually less than a week, but they can tell you if you call. My bestbuy is on Tuesdays, Quix says Chicago's is Friday, etc.

How would one go about doing this on the phone? I ordered my prime over the phone, because I had to do financing, because for some reason I couldn't find out how to do it online. I was transfered about 4 times to different departments until I was connected with someone who ordered my prime and let me do financing.
So if I want to get the keyboard, and use the "magic OMS word," would I call the 1-8xx number? (I don't know it off the top of my head) And once I call, who do I ask to talk to?
I hope I can find one and a dock in stock... Wish me luck I have been looking forward to getting one

I want one of the Alchemist Grey's. All I got was Amethyst Grey.
For the OP:
Just remember, (if you have been researching the Prime, this is not news to you) - Make sure wherever you pick one up that they a) Have a good return policy, and CHECK it, don't assume. and b) Ideally they have a decent amount of stock. It doesn't help if you get a defective unit if there is nothing in stock to exchange it FOR.
Good luck. The Prime is a beautiful device. I hope you eithr get or plan to get a keyboard dock, as it's not just an accessory. It's the Primes "Other half", LOL - but is awesome and makes the Prime special and unique (or did until Lenovo ripped off the idea) I wonder what, if any kind of patents Asus has on the dock. It could never be completely unique to Asus, but they have done it so well, few if any can approach the tight integration that Asus has.
