Bricked Dell Venue :-( - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So it seems I've bricked my new Dell Venue...was playing around in the bootloader looking at the menus there and came upon a screen with several choices on it. Not knowing much about the Venue,i decided not to mess with any of them and since there appeared to be no way to exit them,i pulled the battery...BIG mistake, now when I power up my Venue, only the the buttons at the bottom of the screen light up and nothing else. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it?? Any advice would be much appreciated as I don't like using this phone as a paper weight...

F*@k I think I bricked it!

I have no idea what exactly has gone wrong but I think I bricked my NT! I made modifications to the build.prop file, copied it back to root/system and rebooted (with quick reboot app) and now it won't come back on. Now I don't mean it's stuck in a boot loop or it's having a funny when it tries to boot I mean IT WONT COME ON! dead as a door nail
Anybody got any words of wisdom that may be of use at this point, I don't get anything, just a black screen!
I'm a bit paniced now because I'm in UK and it was obviously bought from a B&N store in US then sent over so I could give it to my wife as a Xmas pressy. I've bee tweaking it up to get it like a normal android tablet. It's been great little tab but now it's bricked!
Any suggestions?
Moved to general.
Battery empty? Try to recharge for some time. This thing does strange things on deep discharge. Otherwise factory reset (8 fail boots).

[Q] Need Help with Daughters razr

Hello all, My daughter bought a razr off of Ebay and made the mistake of purchasing from a seller that does not accept returns. Anyway when she first got it the screen would rotate constantly and it kept saying the HDMI port was being used. I did some reading and found out you actually could do a reboot on the droid (Sorry cant remember what its officially called) by holding the volume up down etc. buttons. That fixed the other two issues but now the keyboard does not function properly, sometimes when you press a letter it types that letter several times or the phone freezes up. I told her to try and download another keyboard and that doesnt work because if she trys to go to the market she gets a message an update is needed and it loops.
I have rooted a few phones no expert by any means, but if someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Have you tried factory resetting it? Do you know if it has anything custom installed?

At that point i would just reflash the .SBF file with the batman utility 1.8

Dell Streak 5 Constant Rebooting

Hi all,
I've been a proud streak 5 owner for some years now and have been through quite a few of them. The one i'm on now has developed an issue where its constantly rebooting; it can be immediately after loading the android os or at the dell startup logo. Occassionaly i'm able to get it to stay on but its just a matter of time before it reboots again. Its got to the point where its no longer useable and i havent particularly used it in months due to this issue. I love the phone but i've been through that many of them i promised myself when i got this one it would be my last so i really hope it can be fixed.
I've tried various things myself to fix the issue including:
Factory Reset
Re-Flashed Rom
QDL tool, streak repair, and repairtools (all qdl tools sucesfull but still rebooting)
I've covered pretty much everything there. The only other possible solution i can think of is replacing the internal sd card but i dont have my tools with me as i've just moved house. I also have some spare streaks that dont boot up or have cracked screens so i'll try swapping about some parts when i get hold of my tools again.
In the meantime would anyone have other suggestions that wouldnt require opening up the device ?

Screen locking issues Dell venue 7 - all firmware versions

There's is another thread about screen issues but I don't think I'm having the same problem.
Since about Feb, my venue 7 screen freezes up when it sleeps or use the button to screen lock. I can see the unit has not frozen up, as apps will still update in the background. However, the screen is completely unresponsive. My only fix is to reboot the device.
I have done a complete wipe at least 4x and tried updating firmware a couple times without luck.
Any suggestions or advance trouble shooting tips would be appreciated.

My Venue 8 is doing the same thing. The screen will freeze while the app continues. After a few calls to Dell, they are asking for me to return the tablet and they'll "fix" it. Hopefully they can as I really like the tablet.
I received a replacement unit, which I then destroyed by dropping it. They never asked me to ship the original back, so I thought I'd have another run at fixing it.
I was hope a complete wipe would help but not so far.

BRICKED LG G5 help me please!

I have an at&t lg g5, it is not rooted or modded in any way. I was using it normally, fb and text, basic stuff, then it shut off. Started to cycle though the boot screens...lg start then att in a boot loading screen cycle about 4 times or so then i got the warning your phone MAY be CORRUPTED!? NOTIFICATION ....then BRICK. IT won't turn on and I had not backed all of my pix and info up to my sd, which is ok. I already have a replacement from ATT and haven't yet sent my now PAPERWEIGHT original in and i have a fresh new exact replacement with me. I've searched and googled and searched for anything that I can think of to just get the pix and video off the 1st G5 that I, stupidly, didn't back up. I have to send the broken one back and if anyone can help me get the stuff I need off it before I send it back I will be forever grateful. This is a death cry for help.
If I connect it to a pc nothing....no lights no vibrate when i hold the on button NOTHING it'ss dead. I just want the files off it then i have a new one in my Hand. I don't know what to do besides ask the smart ppl here for help.

I had a couple of phones like that at work. What we did to fix some of the phones was we took the board out of the phone and put the board into an IC Heater/Oven. After the board came out and we put everything back together we turned on the phone with almost no hope of it working and what do you know. It worked. We figured that over time the solder used to hold pieces of the board together became weaker and loosen the ICs on the board. Thus, turning the phone into a brick. What the IC Heater/Oven does to the board is it reheats the solder and reinforces them. Keep in mind though that this method is experimental and we were able to achieve a 60% success rate in repairing phones that were in that brick state. Sorry for the late reply. Thought I shared our methods on fixing this issue.
