App to easily log in and comment on forums? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
Just wondering what some of you use to post replies or new posts via your android phone? Is there an app on the market that will allow me to log into forums that I visit and easily browse and post to threads? This forum is certainly one of them I would like easy access to from my phone. Any apps or suggestions instead of actually browsing the site via the web browser?
I see an app called tapatalk that appears to work but don't know much about it and is not free. Don't want to purchase it if it will not work.
I see xda has a market app for this but scared to install based on the comments I see from users.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thank you,
--mike

Just buy xda premium on the market, works perfect on my epic 4g, ignore the comments, should have no problems unless ur phone is new and not supported, you can always download the free xda to test it out

Thank you for the reply.
I have a new phone released but I think it will work. Will give it a try.
Do you or does anyone know of an app that allows you to connect to a number of different forums? For example, an app that supports vbulliten, phpbb, etc.
Thanks again,
--mike

Or you can get tapatalk which is an app that works on thousands of forums including xda. Its free on getjar.com but paid for on android market. I use it on a few forums and its great

Tapatalk is well worth buying, and I've only bought a few apps.

Thank you all. I was about to buy tapatalk until you mentioned getjar. Surprised to find it free here. Awesome app!

[REQ] a good webOS forum app

I have to use CM7 to use the XDA app. But, if webOS had a good, free forum viewing app, that'd be awesome.
If there is one, please link me to it. I would be very grateful as I haven't been able to find one.
The communities app in the HP market does what you want. You can also access the forums through precentral.

Key word in my post was free, and Communities isn't free. I can't buy apps, my parents don't see the point, so I can't get it.

In that case, pick up webos roundup from the market (it is free) and there is a forum app there for the webos forums. Hope that helps

I looked just now, and that isn't what I want at all, thanks for trying though. Which leads to the original purpose of the thread. Requesting a free forum viewing app. I'd like to be able to check XDA, Rootwiki, etc from my TP on webOS.
My problem being I have no way to purchase apps from anywhere. I don't care if it has ads or not either.
I just bookmarked the XDA website with the WebOs browser and go to xda that way.
+1 for bookmarking in WebOs. I have all the forums I visit in bookmarks, works great in the browser. I have zero issues with XDA in WebOs.

I was able to buy the app Communities.
Problem with bookmarking, is XDA would continuously reload on me, so I would keep getting logged out. Was frustrating not being able to be in webOS and properly check my forums.

Why isn't Groupon app compatible with ATT Note?

Seems like that would be a pretty common app not to have it work is surprising.

Talk to the app dev.....
Well, I emailed grouping from their main Page contact info, not sure if there is an easier way to get a hold of the developer directly.... Although dev is groupon

I would also like to have this app on my GNote. I sent the developer an email as well.
Groupon works on RC4.
Update; can't login is that the issue u guys are having? Rc4 is a new rom developed by Dagr8.

Update. It does not work on my note. Saying not compatible.

saw this in another app thread
from JoeDV i think
"Check your language default. Had a few apps that wouldn't load...checked the language and it wasn't set properly for some reason. Set it to English and several apps magically began working again."
cant hurt to check
Just verified, and I was set to english already. Was worth a shot though.
Ok, I found this link that has an Groupon apk for the US AT&T. I installed it on my note and it works.
Just got it from the post above. Working for me as well.

I've been reading this forum for the past 3 weeks and learning from the great minds here. Glad I was finally able to provide some helpful information.

Posting the APK is great, but the question remains; why is it not visible in the market for the AT&T Note? I've had several examples of apps recently that I was surprised are not available in the market.
Car Home - Although theories that this is filtered on the carrier or Samsung level
Euphoria - Live wallpaper! Nothing fancy, and works fine from apk
Bah, I had one more... Not remembering it offhand.. None of the ones I've seen are for a higher SDK, as I've sideloaded all of them fine.. But why? I wish the market gave the reason an app was "incompatible". But I suppose "Carrier restricted" would have people raging.
The Groupon app is in the Google Play market, it just isn't compatible with the I717 GNote. I sent Groupon an email and they responded saying they are working to make the app compatible. Who knows when that will be though?

We switched from iPhone 4s' and it missing was the first complaint:what:
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
I really wish we had visibility to why this app is missing, it doesn't make any sense.. It is "compatible" with my other two phones and two tablets, but not the Note??
I was going to download the official TED app tonight, but guess what, also not compatible. Nonsense.
I wonder if it's the DPI or screen size? I know some apps do filter based on DPI.
Something is actually different with the app too...I don't think it displays my groupons

[Q] Developing Android ROM's

OK, so I want to begin developing Android ROM's. I have the necessary technical knowledge and I have access to Ubuntu 64-bit with more than 100gb of Free disk space.
Where do I start?
How do I edit Android, I.e - theme it, change text etc.
Thanks.

Xda university? Ive been wandering this forum for 3 years and this is the 1st time ive ever seen anyone mention this...
Is his defense, the search feature in either the app or website both kinda suck.
Not very intuitive at all...its easier to Google it then click back to the xda link than to try an find it here....just sayin.

Yes I have been using this for years too and never attempt searching on the site or app. Google will help my the site brings up non related content. Also first on xda university. I need to enroll. Where does the line start and how much is tuition? Guess I will have to Google it and see what it is all about.

Kinda guessed that the reply would be "Use the search". I haven't yet seen a guide that shows screenshots of what the code actually does. I.e: before a code change the ui looks like this [Insert screenshot here] and after the code change a Ui looks like this [Insert screenshot here].
I've seen developers create features for their ROMs, like quick settings in notifications and stuff like that. Building the ROM is one thing but adding features is another. I wish their was a complete guide out their.
A lot of xda threads are becoming more like court cases nowadays. I see people with feature requests and then the developer just rudely says "Thanks for Sharing!" And takes no notice as if what someone said was pointless.

That would probably be because it has been asked a few million times (yes, it's an exaggeration but I think you get my point).
A lot of people will be very helpful if you come in here and show that you tried to figure out something on your own. I've read all of this or searched Google and the site and haven't found the info. However, when you come here and ask a question that has been posed over and over again you can start to get a bit of an attitude. It's generally because you have shown no initiative to look or get the info yourself.
Would the guide you want be helpful? Sure would. It's not though so one has to a lot of digging to get the info. That is one of the ways you learn how to do things here at XDA. Then, after learning one can go out and write the guide that is missing.
Here is something for you. A thread explaining how to use Google to search XDA specifically. It's located in a specific device forum but is good for everything (and no, I have never owned a Hermes. I found it by searching ).

Custom Application Requests?

If anyone would like me to create an application based on your idea just comment bellow or shoot me a PM. Im playing around with basic4android and I would love some cool ideas of what I should creat! Thanks!
Will this require a donation? Also can you please release how you pushed the 1.29 update first?
Also I would like to request an app that can either block you from xda or block you from spamming new threads.

You could make an app that could beg for money from people on xda then pay your bills with it. You could also add a feature that could make tons of useless posts.

Wow... Why anyone would use basic4android when you could just do it in Java so much better (and free) is beyond me.. Don't come to the majors when you're still not even good enough for a farm team

I'd encourage you to download the google SDK and become familiar with the Java+Android APIs. Basic and basic 4 android have their limitations besides that.
Unless you're extremely familiar with BASIC (even if you're extremely familiar with BASIC), i would probably go java . Things are really nice in android studio nowadays (most notably, the "intellisense")

Nintendo 64 Emulation (best app atm) 2013

Before getting flamed let me begin by saying I checked the forum rules and it did not mention anything regarding the topics of emulation or roms. I understand that I will not bring up or mention where to download roms.
I just have a question on and emulator app on the Google market.
Which do all of you think is the best Emulator at the moment for Nintendo 64 on this phone? I was using N64oid v2.7 but it seems to me that everyone is preferring Super n64.
Any opinions?
Again, sorry if this topic is not allowed.
Thank-you

Hey just so everyone knows.. SuperN64 is literally a copy of Mupen64. Mupen actually gets updates so use mupen, not superN64 as its just fake. Even look in the description of the app. Anyways just thought I'd inform you all.
