Exclamation Mark + TerhmoMeter + Battery icon on the Closed Screen - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

While my children were playing a game, I was already charhing the phone...
Meantime, it was warmed and ring a signal (because of Battery Widget Pro alarm status on 50C )
I dismissed the Alarm and continue to play game amd charcing...
But now, After 100% charcing, suddenly it turns to 87%...
I turned off the phone, Then I saw Exclamation Mark + TerhmoMeter + Battery icon on the screen...
I plug-in the charge, and The icons disappeared...
I deleted Batterystatus.bin file, pluged-out the battery, waited more than 5 min. but the icons still there
it's charcing about 2 hours, but not reach to 100%
What is my problem?
Is it about the phone or battery?
PS: I'm using BatteryWidgetPro, and it's measure my battery 1254mAh...
with Best Regards and respects, I'm wainting your comments...

99% your kids spilled some juice on the USB charging port. Try to clean that up.
Had the same problem and after 2 days of cleaning and cleaning, finally my USB port is working again .
Try to shut-down the phone, you will see that it turns-on by itself because the pins are short-circuited.
Also for reference you should read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216163

I bought a new original 1650 mAh battery and pluged it in... Then, the icons disappeared...
I re-pluged the old one in, The icons appeared again...
Now I have a problem and a question...
Problem: when I plug the new battery, phone is turnning on with out a open/close button press.
I'm turnning of with button, but it isn't turn off completly and turnning on again like as reboot situation...
question : In this case, if I put the phone to supporter Technic Service, do they put it into warranty case?

Had this today.. My middle battery contact was bent so i guess it wasn't contacting properely..
Took battery out, straightened pin and all is ok again....
Hope your is the same as it's easily sorted..
Yea, that basically means the phone can't charge. Be it because the battery has overheated, its a different battery, a contact is bent or dirty, or anything. It is related to not being able to charge the battery though.
i got this last night for the first time. my phone wasn't hot and never dropped or bumped. i just rebooted the phone and it didn't flash anymore...

oh! thats sound scary...
happened to me a few days ago i left it in my car for a bit it got hot so i figured thats what it was
battery got fried? or just dirty battery connection needs a contact cleaner?
This happened to me once, after "playing" a lot with Igo, the battery was extremly hot; so i cooled it down in the car putting my leo directly in front of the A/C exit, as it cooled down it stopped the blinking.
Had this happen to me a few days ago, noticed 2 things.
1) 2 pins on my battery connector were bent - attempted to realign them.
2) CPU was overheating while running multiple apps AND charging at the same time; seems to be a bad combo in the summertime...I could barely touch the back of my phone it was so hot.
I'd suggest that if you're running a lot of apps and/or charging the HD2 that you take off the silicone cover it came with (if you have it on). Even the fastest processor will get completely fried if it overheats, and I certainly don't see a fan running on the HD2
I've yet to have the LED flash at me again, but I can almost guarantee that these LEDs are flashing because of overheating or a bad connection.
Best of luck.

Same with my HD2. Had it twice this week running Navigon, Screen was set to bright, bluetooth on and phone was charging. Weather was hot, above 30 C and sun was shining from the rear directly to the PDA. And not to forget: My car is a convertible.. Phone was very hot and rebooted several times until I recognized the overheating. LED was flashing red and green. Does anybody know an app to control CPU temperatur or to 'underclock' CPU of the HD2?
I had the same issue today!
I believe it was because of the heat too.

Thanks great tool!
if you experience overheating, could you have a look here? I created a new thread to do some temperature monitoring:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=716288
I just had the same thing red green blinking. it was due to overheat. was sharing internet to my computer and it got very hot, now I put my phone top of antec twelve hundred's 20cm fan and it stopped blinking and got cool
And thank you for the answer why it was doing that because I got scared when it did that
I think it is battery issue, I experienced this once during USB connection with desktop(and several times with Touch Pro in car). These Li-Ion batteries have a circuit, which prevents charging when temperature rises above certain value. As mentioned in posts above, you can see this in summer, using navigation in car while plugged in to 12V. It is a normal operation of battery, preventing it from destruction from overheating. Simple solution is to have it cool down for a while.
Don't know how CPU usage relates with this(maybe the device takes more power from charger), but at least CPU generates also some temp, which warms the battery from outside...
I can always reproduce this error by uncharging the battery until the phone dies in android and then, start the phone and directly after that insert the charging cable.
I have no idea what this means but this is how I can reproduce it.
(If anyone wonders why I always uncharge it until it dies in android, it is because of some weird reason android doesn't show battery status correctly and dies around 10%)
Htc hd2 blinking red and green?
Hi everyone, a couple of this to possibly cloud the issue:
1/ I'd noticed bent connector pins quite soon after I'd received my HD2 - Figured they were supposed to be that way?!
2/ The LED/ Charging issue has, for me, started only recently. Even when the handset is cool (under 25c), no apps are running and the battery has 85% capacity remaining.
3/ Same issue on both of my batteries.
Stumped!
Even stranger......
If I remove the sim and charge while powered off - no problem. Turn it on? Flashing O&G LED again.

I just experienced the very same when my HD2 died while running Android:
I was checking the battery level - 13% - and suddenly the screen went black and I couldn't swich the device on again.
I plugged the cable in and it began to charge. I immediately switched the device on to see if it's ok and while booting and even inside WM the indicator was blinking orange and green until Android was running again - then it was only glowing orange and charging fine.
After 3(!) Hard resets the problem disappeared?
These were over a week so battery or software issue I can't say.

Dell Streak 5 charging issue, turns off after screen tap

Hi everyone.
I have problem with my Dell Streak 5.
It was working fine until three weeks ago. First it started to turning off in some different situations. Then after some short time of working showed 0% of battery level and powered off. In the beginning I could to turn it on again but now I can't. I see that there is some issue with charging battery - after connecting to charger (car charger, docking station, USB, regular charger) it shows battery symbol with exclamation mark and 0% of battery level. After some time it shows 1% and after longer time suddenly it shows 100% but it doesn't show that battery is charging when system is down. When there is 1 or 100 % mostly I can turn on device - sometimes works normally when is charging, another time after system start it shows 0% of batteries and turning off.
When the system start and battery level is 100% I can unplug it from charger and mostly works fine until I don't make strong tap at the screen or put it to my pocket - after that it turns off and I can't power on it again until I don't plug a charger. After charger plug in it shows again that battery is empty...
I can't turn on Streak when is not plugged it to charger.
I made phone reset - it doesn't change anything. I bought another battery - the same issue beside that it shows 30% of battery level.
Had anyone similar problem? Any ideas?
Remove back cover, place a small piece of paper or cardboard that is 2 mm thick on top of the battery. Replace cover and charge battery. There is a chance that your back cover is too loose.
are you on stock rom or custom rom ??

Any solution to resurrect a dead Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100?

Hello. I'm a new member here. So my phone couldn't be turned on, i guess it was caused by the age (it aged 5 years). Before this phone couldn't be turned on, it was in a low battery situation, then i plugged to the wall which made the battery percentage increased to 67%, then i unplugged it and used it until the operating system crash (hang) about an hour, so i decided to pull and plug the battery. When it's booting, it gets bootloop. So i decided to pull and plug the battery again. Now it won't turn on at all. But after I checked using multimeter, it seems to reach the normal volt which is 3,7v. I tried vol up+home+power(screen is blank), vol down+home+power(screen still blank), charging it to pc(no battery notifications), cleaning the yellow battery parts (idk what it's called) also the port, tried a new battery, tried charging it to the wall, and nothing happened. When it was charging, it created a great heat. Note that this phone had never been rooted, exposed to sunlight, splashed water, etc. Maybe i need a new phone?? Lol i don't have enough budget right now.

Has my LG G5 died over night?

Hey fellows,
I had to replace the power button and everything worked fine for at least 5 days now, tested everything, reboot ,shut down, start up etc.
Only had to fixate the metal plate on which the Power botton sits with some Tape so it will not wiggle around to much, in end it only helped a small amount.
At opening the Phone i accidentally ripped a really really small piece of the Vol Down click off, only the half of the black clicker is left but totally click able and responsive, antering the Recovery mode and Download mode is working.
Now to my Issue:
When i went yesterday to bed my LG G5 had around 60% Battery power left. I woke up today tried to Knock On the Phone, no chance, so i though strange is the battery empty? I tried to start the Phone with the Power button and it vibrates an the LG Logo with Android beneath it appeared but shuts down after 2secs.
I grabbed my Charging Cable plugged it in and it says Battery 0% with the Lighting Symbol, here the Same happens as well, shows it for 1-2secs and turns off.
After that it shows me The different Battery with the Loading Symbole in it and does the same as well 1-2secs and shut down.
Download mode does the same, shows it for 1 sec and turns off again.
Recovery mode does the Same but sometimes i get to the second choice if i really want to wipe user data etc.
I took the Battery out, kept pressing the Power button 40sec+
Took the battery of the Modular and clipped it in without the Battery, after that it shows me a Battery with a red question mark on it, but the Display stays on.
I forgot to added, even if i keep charging it it says 0% and keeps on the same behavior. Only gets a bit warm nothing else.
Now is my Question is my Phone dead? Do i need to get a new one?
Has anyone a Idea what i could try?
I would really appreciate help with this.
I think your mainboard is dead . it's not a bootloop .

Won't turn on

I recently picked up this galaxy s6 edge from a friend that upgraded to a new phone. It won't turn on, neither to android recovery, nor to download mode nor the android. I charged it via wireless charging overnight and i tried for around an hour with a usb cable. What do i do?
same issue i am facing, i tried original charger, wireless charger and fast chargers from many different brands. but all failed. The device only gets warm/hot while charging and nothing happens. neither download mode nor recovery mode works. I am kind pf stuck without any solution, my device was used very rarely and its like an brand new device. Doesn't know what to do, if you find any solution then please let me know too. thanks in advance
Same problem. If I press power button very long, blue light comes on. Then it's stuck and stays like this until battery is flat. Battery charging is not possible: device heats up (tried USB and Qi), but battery doesn't take any charge.
So I opened the S6 and checked the battery directly. I can charge it directly with a lab power supply and when I plug it in and press power button, the blue notification light comes on again until battery is empty again. I can also see that only ICs get hot, but not the battery when plugging in USB.
So, it's definitely some hardware fault. I suspect power IC that is not able to power up the screen. But I don't know. I will investigate further but it looks difficult. However, I have seen many YouTube videos with same symptoms, but problem was always different than mine :/
Hi guys,
This thread is 2 months old, any of you managed to fix the problem?
I am having very similar problem. My phone was on a shelf for about a year and a half. Before now it was working perfectly. Now I can't charge it via USB or power adapter. When trying to power it up or get into download or recovery mode, nothing happens. Computer does not see it. Tried different cables, USB ports, power adapters..nothing.
The only thing that is happening to the phone is the battery logo appears when trying to charge it, though the green bar does not go over battery, only the empty grey battery with lightning icon in the middle. Also the screen does not go dark after a few seconds as it should and the red/blue LED does not turn on.
Is this the signal from the phone, that the battery is to deeply dischareged and cannot be charged again? I am googling all over the web and can't find anybody talking about what phone does in case of to low voltage on battery.
PS back does not seem to be bloated, USB port was working perfectly last time used
Please try to help, you are my last stop before opening the phone and start probing the poop out of motherboard to see what gave.
EDIT: something interesting happened just about an hour after my post. The battery suddenly started showing % of charge and the green bar started running, computer recognized the phone.. as everything should be.
My FIX: leave the phone pluged in and charging for about 3days and it will start working again.
My semi professional explenation of fix and problem: the phone has a ''backup or reserve'' battery. It is actually main battery but the last I think I read somewhere it is 20% of capacity, is reserved for phone exclusively for the clock and all other electronics that need power when switched off. Now these 20% probably were discharged due to laying around for almost 2 years.
It took me 3 days of charging to fill up these ''20%'' I guess. Probably because Lithium batteries are charged VERY slow at very start and end. This is safty procedure for ALL Li batteries.
If any expert can confirm my conclusion please do so, to help other people.
To answer partialy to my question: The phone tells you battery is ''deep'' discharged when you only see the charge icon without the green bar.
In the mean time I was writing this edit I came up to 4% battery and turned it on!
