Flashing and flickering after ICS update - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Recently I have noticed that Shadowgun T3 version and Riptide (so far that I know)
These games start flickering and flashing and when i restart them they do it again. On shadowgun the first version it seems fine.
I have tried this on all three performance settings and still happens.
Any ideas XDA world?
Nvidia always!

I've yet to try any games but I do get this sometimes when using the multitask button with ADW Launcher Ex and Tablet Talks pop up thingy

i have the exact same issue. i got my tf201 yesterday and instantly updated to ICS, so idk if there were issues like this in HC, but it happens to most of the games in the tegrazone. ill be playing for 5 minutes or less and the screen starts flashing/flickering and the game is running in the background, but the screen is frozen.

Try and disable auto brightness, then see if you still notice the flicker.
It could just be the brightness changing in a not-too-smooth fashion, which happens if they don't dim it slow enough or with enough precision (in software).
I have noticed this as well from time to time, but it goes away if I set the brightness manually, since the system no longer automatically adjusted the brightness.

do you have a live wallpaper set? i was having similar issues until i set my background to a static image.

i have had a static image because i changed it as soon as i got it and i had disabled auto brightness because i wanted it lower in order to preserve battery life, but the flickering lights with frozen image still happens.

Haven't had any issues for awhile but haven't had time to really play with it either.
Nvidia always!

I notice flickering just by tapping recent items button after using a dozen apps / webpages.

Do you guys have force gpu rendering because I did and I had the issue

Seems that reseting to factory reset worked. I reinstalled all and all seems fine
Nvidia always!

i've had the exact same issue with many games since i updated my asus tf101 to ics

Tilt sensor/accelerometer issues

Was really excited to see Tomb runner in play store but after downloading was unplayable cause the tilt sensor doesn't seem to work in the game, seems fine on home screen etc.... anyone else having this problem or found any workarounds?
Hmmm.. does it work elsewhere for your tablet? Tombrunner works fine, with tilt, on mine.
its fine in other apps, which build of the os are u on? Settings-About tablet-Build number... Mines B016 at the end...
Did you try to uninstall and reinstall? It worked for me
Tried everything, reinstall, reset tablet but no joy... Im gonna try the ICS beta ROM.

Absolutely worth the upgrade and I cannot recommend it more highly. I just updated to ICS b08 last night (from 006) and it continues to be a significant upgrade in the little things. Screen seems more responsive, performance better to the eye, and so on. Absolutely worth it, regardless of tomb runner. 8)
It's working great on ICS 08 rom. But playing something like angry birds and tip off basketball is harder than it should be because the touchscreen filtering algorithm either non existent or were set to a very low number so you can't have a steady touch (try to just touch the screen in the browser and it's shaking... Or just activate pointer location in developer options to visually see the touches). Despite this problem, I still think that this rom is better than the hc ones.

on HC3.2
i red it somewhere on web and when happened it to me it worked.
Solution:
1. turn off screen tilt function
2. turn off auto screen brightness
3. turn on screen tilt function
4. turn on auto screen brightness
weird? try it

Home screen / auto rotate use orientation sensor. Games use accelerometer. If you or anyone else having accelerometer issue, try disabling compatible coordinate mode in setting - developer options.
As for me otherwise - enabling compatible options.

question and observations

question and observationsstion part:
1. Has anyone noticed a white washed effect one their prime every so often? I am having this issue where reading something in black/white, the letters seems to be washed out and the white over powers the black text line definition so it becomes a white blurish effect.
1a. I have also noticed my led display has this "oil spill" under the glass somewhere in the upper middle area. A little minor grab of the prime on certain corners moves and reshapes this "oil spill". Does this have anything to do with #1?
Observation:
Not a super tech junkie but is there some sort of a memory leak in the ROM? I have noticed the reboot happens when the Asus task manager craps out and when ics+ browser is handling some open tabs with at least one tab with a video playing. I may be completely off here but that's just my observation. It seems the prime slows to a crawl with a few apps open and it speeds up when i close them but then it reboots when I reopen the same apps (mostly ics+ and maybe maps and translator and opera). I am going to stop using ics+ and use opera and see if it does this. I am also using dolphin so I'll be switching around however I am wonder if anyone has found a rhythm or rhyme to the rebooting issues.
Thanks!
Well the reboot thing isn't new,but you know there is a limit of available memory so if you're like me, opening closing apps like crazy and complaining about when one of them eventually crash you're just rising the pole. I use system panel to track how the device is doing and if in need of something to do to it.
I've had the wash out effect happen when you hold it on certain angles. I posted a thread about it not too long ago because I noticed my TF101 didnt do this. So I had asked some people who had them both to compare. The last post in the thread the poster noticed it as well.

Anyone noticed any screen tearing issues

I've only noticed this since about a week.
Its most prominent when I'm in text based apps - Pulse/Verge/Kindle - with a lot of white background.
To describe it - its like a 3mm thick 'glitch', appears for hardly a few milliseconds - just enough to be noticeable.
Its always along the length of the device, and does not matter what orientation I'm holding it in.
I felt it happened more often with auto-brightness but that feeling may just be a dud.
The recurrence is quite random, but I can easily see it if I stare at the screen for even a minute.
Finally I've never noticed it in games or on home screens - not sure if thats just because I miss it in those or otherwise..
I noticed this yesterday for the first time when reading some text. It was very distracting, hoping it was a fluke deal.
Seconding this. I don't have auto-brightness, but I notice it. Definitely happens when reading text with a white background - so get it pretty often in RSS readers, rarely in gmail, and never in games / movies.
Thanks for the replies..
I also noticed this never happens in gmail or currents. Looks like Google-supplied apps run fine...
This leads me to believe that these other apps are doing something wrong, maybe overflowing buffers due to the massive resolution as someone else projected in another thread...
Have you guys played with either the "Disable HW Overlays" or "Force GPU rendering" settings to see if they impact this issue one way or another?

I second this idea.. please try and report the results.
Since my last soft-reboot, I've yet to see ant tearing. However I'll try those options if I see it happening again. Thanks for the suggestions. Maybe some of the others seeing this can try those tweaks?
Happens to me no matter what app I'm running and has been happening since I got my nexus. Even just happened in the app drawer. I will check the force gpu settings and get back to you.

Force GPU rendering changed nothing for me. Still got the screen tearing. I'm going to try the Disable HW overlays for a while now.

(Verizon GS4) Rooted 4.3 Serious lock screen/home screen lag

I am currently running rooted MJ7 (Verizon Galaxy S4) and have window animation scale, transition animation scale, and animation duration scale all turned off in developer options. I hoped that this would reduce screen and lock screen lag, however, I am getting pretty pissed about waking my phone and have to wait for 10-15 seconds for any touch response. This happens about once or twice an hour. It also occurs every so often once the screen unlocks and I will wait 10-15 seconds for anything but the wallpaper to load... I have hard reset multiple times hoping to clear the issue. I use zero widgets to avoid load time (however the hardware in this phone should be able to handle pretty damn much anything), and I manually clear cache and kill apps regularly....Nothing has helped... Any ideas or anyone else experiencing this?

Do you have lock screen effects turned off (light and water)? Turning those off really helped with the stutter I used to get when unlocking. It wasn't nearly as bad as what you're describing though... are you running any performance tweaks? Any 3rd party apps that change system behavior? I would freeze any non-stock apps and mods for a day and see if you still get it.

Haha, I actually feel quite noob at this point. Immediately after creating this post I went through my running applications in rom toolbox and noticed one little thing... There was a system cleanup tool running a total clean at every system lock, thus killing all running/background apps. The lag was simply the phone restarting the necessary applications... After eliminating this procedure I no longer experience the severity of lag. Whoops.

Scrolling suddenly has micro stutters everywhere

I was totally happy with my G5, have it now since 4 weeks. Everything was perfect. But suddenly, out of nowhere, I have this weird micro stuttering (reduced smoothness) everywhere where I can scroll. In the app drawer (Nova launcher), in scroll lists like the app lists in the Play Store App, in the Settings menu, mostly everywhere, in Chrome too, in the notification bar when swiping it down. It doesn't happen always though but with a high chance. It's mostly hard to describe but I would say, that before it was always 60fps animations, and now it's not anymore. It's not totally broken (maybe 30-50fps), but not smooth. You can notice it really well when you scroll really slow with your finger up and down with a rhythmic interval and look at the screen animation how it stutters, it's no smooth animation like it used to be. It's especially worse in the settings gui when you slowly scroll down, the screen will stutter a few frames behind the animation time.
It's not rooted nor did I install any apps whats soever lately which could cause this. I even tried to remove some apps I have installed over the last days, with no effect. Tried to reboot of course too several times.
I am totally sure, that it was silky buttery smooth before this everywhere.

You can solve this by going to Setings/Developer Settings/ Tick "Force GPU Rendering"
My unrooted LG G4 is smooth because of this.
If U have root! Try L Speed / Trimmer fstrim / Entropy. try these 3 apps found on the Play Store.

Sadly that didn't change anything, I already had tried it before, because I knew that "trick". Also "Disable HW overlays" didn't change anything if toggled.
Well, its Android so you can always factory reset the device easily. You can also use LG backup to restore app data I think. Should be pretty painless assuming sync is enabled on your phone (google photos + account backup ..contacts calendar etc..).
Isn't your internal storage getting full?
