[TIP] Increase volume without root - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

The sound coming from my speakers was pretty low. I was going to download Volume+ but decided on a no -root method. Download Equalizer and set all the values to the max and enjoy a nice crisp, loud sound.

Yeah, same here.

I see. Well IMO, this is easier and more appealing. To each his own.

this is a nice app but its just adjusting equalizer setting. Volume + is an actual speaker mod that dramatically increases speaker volume depending on how high you set the boost. Already confirmed it with a decibel meter with volume + on and off. plus it has bass boost and an equalizer also if you choose to use. Its more in depth with adjusting the sound and also has preset values if you don't want to go advanced n mess with equalizer.
Also, Volume + doesn't need root. The app you describe here does look nice but isn't a real volume booster. Just a nice looking equalizer. With volume + you'd be amazed how much louder your prime sounds n crisp n clear also.

Why does the page for Volume+ in the market emphasize that a custom ROM is highly recommended?

its not needed as me n others been running it for a long time now since Prime came out. This is Worthington that would go great cooked into a custom rom. We have a volume+ thread in themes and apps section. Check out the feedback there and you will see it has been received very well. It definitely works.

how are you guys noticing a difference. I have had it as high as +10 and found no changes. Tried it with headphones as well, no difference.

Same here. I downloaded volume+ and even at max volume I did not notice any difference.

if you set it too high it will disregard the setting. I found +8 works the best for my prime

good thing you didn't do it right or you would've blown your speaker at +10. lmfao. having headphones won't make a difference unless you enable headphone boost. This is for mainly speaker. more details below when I address other post.

You have to make sure to follow the instructions it gives you "EXACTLY" I left mines on good quality with volume boost at like +6 and bass boost at +5. works great and I confirmed it with a decibel meter(got app from marketplace and put it on my Atrix to test the Prime). It definitely is alot louder. Unless you really know what you doing, I wouldn't mess with the advanced settings and equalizer.
Another little thing, that if you did follow instructions and doesn't seem to work, this may be the reason and can easily changed. Go to Asus quick settings. go to settings. then go to sound. then press "Music fx". there make sure the Volume+ is checked off. that should enable it. I think ICS added that Music fx feature and if volume+ not checked off, might not work.
Just hit back here or actual Volume+ thread in themes n apps section. Actually be better in actual thread. not trying to thread hijack. Can help more if needed in other thread.

Volume+ did not work for me

If nothing works, guess you peoples could try ripping dspmanager from a cm7 rom and copying it into system/app.

Volume+ still working great for me. No root is needed for it. It "DRAMATICALLY" increases volume n clarity. Adds nice bass also. Games n movies play super loud. Music sounds great. As I'm listening to some tracks now surfing the web.

Since my ICS rom lacks the Beats Audio EQ, I decided I'd play around with DSP manager to get a beats audio like sound. To my surprise, I found an EQ that in my opinion, that sounds better than the beats audio EQ found in the stock HTC music player. Use these settings in DSP and tell me what you think!
That sounds good but I use these with beats enabled
The dynamic range is off
sent from my sexy Htc Rezound
Nicee. I'm gonna be playing around with this a lot but so far, this is the best sound I've got. The bass is absolutely rediculous.
I also use both Beats and DSPManager together.
I'm sure with enough tweaking you could get the same sound without the BEATS EQ, but why bother?? Beats makes it simple (with ANY headset) and sounds awesome.
EQ's always sound better/worse with different kinds of music. Something that sounds amazing for dubstep sounds like garbage for country.

Well yeah, but I listen to the same type of music, Hip-Hop/Rap. That type of music is heavy in bass and the settings I use make it sound incredible.
There was actually a whole five page thread about this a little while ago, All the DSP posted are meant to enhance beats, but they honestly sound amazing with beats turned off, too. The second image in post 24 is the one I use the most, that plus virtual room turned to stage has a very interesting but pleasing sound once you get used to it. [Please note than some ROMs for some reason handle the virtual room settings differently, ineffabilis GB 1.0 for some reason doesn't play nice with virtual room settings, but stock and CleanROM 1.6.5 does]

I use both DSP along with Poweramp Eq to get a nice mixed sound.

Exactly. I listen to a lot of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal/Hardcore and Beats kind of pisses me off at times because the thumping from the double bass drum and detuned bass guitar drowns out the guitars and vocals at times.

I'm running ICS (newtroot's senseless 4.0.3 v1.0) and I notice considerable changes in sound. I can post the apk of my DSP if you'd like.
A lot of the Pixel Nex (GalNex) users stated they were using volume + without any issues.
I use volume+ works pretty dam good, I use the diddy beats ear buds most of the time. They sound absolutely amazing with my tweaks... The ibeats (stock ).sound really good too,
just tried both dsp and volume+ (paid version) on cleanROM 2.3 (ICS) and had absolutely no change in the audio, either on the headset (beats) or speaker.
In ICS, there is a setting we don't have under sounds for media effects that needs to be enabled. Using volume+, it tried to take me to that setting but it doesn't exist on my ROM.

I have Volume Control Plus (paid version). I have used it in my last 4 phones & I love being able to lock the volume so I don't accidentally turn off the ringer etc while it's in my pocket.
I don't see any EQ type settings anywhere in the app however. Am I talking about the wrong app or am I just missing some settings???

Make ringer volume and notification separate ICS

OK, I'll try one more time. I found a great solution to a huge problem in that my ringer and notifications on on the ICS Rom's have the same slider. WTF??? This was a major issue for me. I want my phone to ring but not want to hear every email and text that hits my phone. I just found and app on the horrible named "Play Store" and it's called "ICS Enhanced Ringer Control" and it works. Yes it's $2.99 but well worth it if you are one who is like me and very frustrated about the volume control problem.
Maybe I'm late to the party but I've tried I think all the ICS Rom's and this was an issue with them all.
If that helps then I'm happy for everyone else also.
Thanks for pointing this app out. Truly stupid thing to removed this option from ics. Why did they do it?

It's one of the great mysteries of the modern day why this was not changed in ICS as it was great with gingerbread, froyo etc. Must remember that the ICS we have here is a "leaked" version being used on these Rom's, at least this is my understanding.
On gingerbread you could select if the notifications were tied to the ringer, you can't do that on ICS?

Thanks for this! I have tried a few apps that said they could seperately control the volume, even paid a buck for one, and they can't over ride the system setting...I hope this works because I also hate that...

Ok maybe I'm just weird, but is there a way to connect the ringer and media volume? It drives me up a wall to have to turn down to evolume in YouTube to watch a video when my phone is already on silent....
Try Audio Control, it's by far the best volume management app in the Google Play store. There is both a notification and ringer volume for ICS or Jelly Bean.
Really helpful developer too.

Headphone volume to loud at minumum

Hey guys, I've been having some problems with volume control on most of the roms out there. Most of the roms I've tried so far seem to have a loud volume at the lowest level. An exception would be Shotock2, which has perfect volume control in my opinion. But i'd like to use other roms based on AOSP or other Samsung bases. Is there a way to edit the volume control in someway? I made this post after I've tried everything i can think of. That includes using fluxxi kernel and its volume control options, using audioboost apps, and using softer equalizer settings. But nothing has worked for me. I was hoping to see if it was possible to edit some file somewhere on the system that allows you to bring down the volume. Any help would be great.
Maybe not the answer you're looking for but, have too tried headphones with a volume control on them?

I've tried my Skullcandy in-ear earphones which i use the most, but i've also tried those Apple earphones and a few others. They all make my ears hurt on lowest volume.
If the ROM you're using has DSPManager, try lowering the bars on the equalizer under 'headset' (after enabling it of course). I know it works for music but I'm not sure about apps and other things
Edit: I missed the part where you said you've already tried this, my bad still worth another shot though, I've had this problem before

I'm trying to remember as this was a quite a long time ago. On the lowest setting, the audio was so loud that I was able to hear it without putting the headphones on (well, I had earbuds) I had this issue with CM7 and CM9. I went into DSPManager and enabled Bass Booster (it seems to lower the volume a bit) and enabled the equalizer. I set the equalizer to about this (Remaking it to my best estimate to what I had the equalizer set to before)

Afterwards I ran a few apps then played a few songs. It was much quieter than before. What's strange though, is that when I flashed AOKP several months ago, the volume was much quieter and I was able to turn the equalizer up a bit. Sorry if I don't seem like much help, just sharing what I did to fix this but it might not work for everyone. Phones are weird

I've tried this too but i felt like it kinda ruined the point of an equalizer. Thanks for the suggestion though. Honestly I'd stick with Shotock2 if the battery life wasn't so bad on my phone. I love that rom.

Noozxoide CodexHD - SoundMOD to increase volumes!

Hey there,
For the people out there who think that the stereo volumes on aosp roms and the likes are too low compared to the sense roms, here is the solution.
Flash this package:
http://d-h.st/PhS
Once you've flashed this you need to select Noozxoide in:
Settings -> Sound -> Music effects
Choose Noozxoide EIZO-rewire PRO Series (obviously)
Now you can play with the settings which you find best suited for your music taste. Open up the Noozxoide app!
Now you see this menu:

Line-Out Audio Monitor is meant for the headphones and Built-In Audio Monitor is for the stereo speakers the hox+ is packing.
Now go to the Built-In Audio Monitor and scroll down a bit to the Digital Presents (you can obviously play around with whatever you like but I'm now just showing you my settings)
Personally I have it set to Gaming (PSYC) but you can set it to whatever you like ofcourse.
Well guys, have fun with it and I hope I've helped you out with this.
Credits go to codexc over at the HOX forums, just de-bloated his audio mod for us!

I tried this, because the sound volume of the AOKP rom i use from maxwen is my only problem at the moment (normal speaker on the front). I often can't hear people on the phone well enough when there is some noice from e.g. streets.
So finding this let me hope, but after activating Noozxoide and setting volume enhancer to max I could not hear any differences... :\

I think we can only hope the correct drivers become available one day so that AOSP based roms have better audio. I've tried all kinds of apps and mods, some work a little but generally I find it just makes the speaker even more tinny sounding.
Thank You :good:

I'm really thinking of selling the peace because it renders useless for me --> No client certificates in e-mail client with original ROM, no acceptable sound level on the phone with custom ROMs :\

Guys! This will not work with the new AOSP roms! The audio drivers were fixed and we don't use the ICS blobs from the HOX anymore, therefore making this mod useless.
P.S.: To uninstall just dirty flash your rom again without wiping, there is indeed no uninstall script.

Max (V2): Max Version 2
Note: improved ear and headset volume
Max: max Volume Mod Here
Above normal (V2): Above Normal Mod Version 2
Note: same as above, head set was not up to were I wanted for the originals.
Above normal: Above normal volume mod here (a bit lower than max, as requested)
If this is to loud, let me know and I'll make other mild mods.
Max can sound distorted, best used for lower quality mp3s and videos.

Worked here
It work great here but if you are able to make one a slight lower. When I am at max it distorts my sound making it hard to understand watching video now instead of barely hearing. I turn it down about half way and it works great but not all my notifications distort and i have to turn my system down to help so i have some thing great and some things are still just as quiet. No hurry when you have time I have survived with quiet now I have at least half I can hear and the rest is normal 20 a 100% improvement already.

Make sure your on 4.4.2 (kitkat), not jellybean.
This should not end up in a boot loop.
It's very simple, copy or move then paste, reboot.
Jellybean has a different file that you mod.
This is nowy57 mod for jellybean:
Jellybean volume mod only here
His is flashable in recovery, don't bother trying it for kitkat.
That's why I made a kitkat mods.
Give me thanks.
Thanks man above normal is great

Above normal took away all sounds for me upon reboot. Fre3 hybrid ROM with Blu X Theme.
The max kinda distorted the music and added some crackling out of the speaker. The above normal sounds great. Thanks a ton OP!

Works great.... Thanks!

Reasoning for the max is more for lower quality mp3s and videos.
Personally, I did not need to set permission. Just replaced and reboot.
I'm glad you all enjoy, if anyone needs a mod for another note 3 this may work.
Make a backup before testing.
Well just replaced and guess what, no sond period. I'm running KitKat Killer 4 any ideas how to fix this mess.. Ok I fixed it, just changed permission. But I do not see any difference in the sound from what was already there..
Try fre3 rom, I had more luck getting that to work.
Do you have any of the Viper apps or dsp?
If so, try Uninstalling the driver.
Do you use a equalizer?
I've notice in some apps like playerpro it ends up making the volume sound lower no matter what you mod. Try setting to flat.
Make sure you are on 4.4.2.
Let this mod boost up your sound, not a app.
I modded the system sound, not the Viper setting in the xml file.
