How can we listen to the radio in XDA or pocket pc?

Hi everyone !
Does anyone know how can we listen to the radio on XDA or pocket pc like a nokia mobile phone? If we can, which software do we use and where can we get it?
Thank in advance,
The only possibility to hear radio via the device is using a webradio over GPRS. But i think, it would be a very expensive method to ge some music from the device...

That will not work with the XDA. The XDA only have an SD-slot and not an required SDIO-slot. So this card will only work with the new XDA II device...

It doesn't work on the XDA it's an SDIO SD-Radio
Wazza...
There are plenty of cheap chinese radio headsets available, but you cant control them via your xda, only manually! And some of them do not support muting on incoming calls, so you need to press some buttons on the headset to mute the music...
Hi All
If anyone is interested I am working with Energy Radio who are Launching on October 1st 2004 at 8am.
We will have a custom page for anyone using the SPV M1000 / XDA II. Currently we are running a test broadcast on a specific IP address and port and found it works really well, if anyone would be interested in trying it for us I would be happy to chat with you.
Just got the M1000 from Orange UK on thursday and have fallen in love with it!
Ben
I would be interested to try it on... Please pm me or send me e-mail with details.
Paul
I just use a wap connection and a internet url. If you have t-mobile it's free.
Hope I could help
Reply from Japan.
Dear Mr.Chris Ogden,
Thank you for your inquiry.
We are planning to release SD-Radio two months from now.
Your model XDA II is Pocket PC2003 base, so basically
it should work. However, SDIO driver(SDIO Now!) is also required.
Since we haven't experienced your model so far, we are not sure whether
XDA II supports SDIO Now! or not.
Furthermore,
Sorry to inform you but, at the moment, our online-shop supports to domestic
Japan only. So if you are not living in Japan we can't support.
If SDIO Now! is support on XDA II and you are in Japan, please let us know.
We will inform you as soon as SD-Radio is ready to ship.
Our products price are as follows:
SD-Link11b : 12600yen (Excluding the postage)
SD-Radio : 3765yen (Excluding the postage)
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.
Kind regards,
C-guys Online-shop
Hi.
Given the limited battery life of the XDA's and the cost of streaming over GPRS (if possible),
maybe the best solution is hardware? try: http://www.wavehunter.com/hfreerdo.htm
I haven't tried it myself, so I don't know if/how well it works.
Good luck!

Four free HTC Wallaby cradles about to go in the garbage

Hi all,
I am posting this one last time, this time in general, as I just noticed that the Accessories thread doesn't get many posts any more and so people may not read it.
Basically, I have four free cradles to give away to someone in Australia (for the cost of postage). They have no power adapter, only USB and some other adapter thingy. These are untested as they were given to me a while ago but were not compatible with my phone (o2 XDA II).
The full thread is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=659297
They will be in the bin by the end of the week as I am cleaning stuff out.
I also have an XDA cradle. Free to anyone who wants it if they can arrange collection/postage.
Im in Manchester UK

Adapter thingy?
If you still have the "adapter thingy" (see photo in Original Poster's linked earlier post), I'm interested. Please Private Message me in that case.
Innocuous Post 1
Sorry to anyone still subscribed to this old thread. Using it solely to hit 10 posts and provide feedback for my phone's ROM =/.
You shouldn't be trying to "hit 10 posts" in this way, it is not appreciated by XDA-developers. Post your ROM feedback in a non-dev. thread, that doesn't require 10 posts.

[ Q ] USB keyboards working with ALL usb adapters or some adapters only ??

Hello all ,
as i asked above ..
i want to buy usb adapter to use standard usb keyboard
but i would like to know and make sure
all king of usb adapters works fine with the usb keyboards or some adapters only ??
i am asking to make sure
because it's already not available in my country and i will ship it online
so , that's why i am asking .. i want to make sure 100% that my choice is right
waiting reply
thnx
Any usb to go adaptor will work, not all keyboards will work out of the box, you may need to add udev rules before they will work.
There is a thread in the dev section about getting any input device to work, you need to be rooted or you will be limited the makes supported out of the box, I am not sure what they are

well thats the samsung one, or you can order something like this which I have, any generic OTG cable should work, though the nokia ones have an odd shaped port I think so stay away from them.
Should work, but I wouldn't choose that particular, cause it doesn't have a flexible cable and one wrond push/drop would tear it.. or even worse your MHL port.

For the people who didn't received the SmartTag in the package

I've wrote many times to different supports, but the one who gave me the right address was on facebook.... Well they did a web page where you have to compile a form including your imei, and they will send at home for free the two smart tags.
This is the site for italy:
http://www.accessorisony.it/smarttags/index.html
Maybe you can find the right one for your state.

Or this one...
This was the link on the flyer included with my Xperia S from O2 UK.
(as a new member it won't let me embed the URL but hopefully the below makes sense).
sony-promotions

experia
Appears to be a standard Sony promotion so I assume can be used by all people who bought the phone.

Is there anything for US residents that have imported or a way toget them to send to a us address?

No link found for France please ?
Hopefully Sony won't look too hard in to what network the phone is assigned to as it's an o2 offer and i'm on Orange.
Worth a try though I guess.

I've just had an email off them saying my imei is "not quite right and needs to be validated" I sent a screenshot of it and I'll wait to see what they say.
I emailed Sony support about this before i saw this thread and the reply was

Dear Sean,
Thank you for contacting the Sony Xperia support centre.
We can advise that not all Xperia S handsets come with Smart Tags . Whether a handset comes with Smart Tags with them or not depends entirely on if the retailer the handset is bought from some retailers have decided not to stock these and do not give them with there handsets. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.

Got the cable with mine, and I got2 smarttags with mine. Not particularly useful at the moment, but i'll keep them as the need for them may arise in the future.
Sent from my Xperia S via transwarp beacon.
Got my simfree, i assumed from seeing unboxing videos before the official release that we would get at least 2 in the box... Fair enough but why dont sony release the accessories at the same time as the phones?
Bought mine in Malaysia and got bundled Livesound headphones, sony branded car charger, HDMI cable & 2 NFC tags.
