Quality Case for Extended Battery? - HTC Rezound

I just purchased ext battery and vzw case w/kickstand. I don't like the feel at all. Had seidio case with orig battery and that was very good quality! Anyone have info on a case...thx

That is the only thing stoping me from buying an ext battery. I have the Outerbox defender and I just love this case covers all the ports and screen.

I am in the same boat and was digging around for days for a case that fit with extended battery. I finally came across these and ordered one last night. Then I remembered your post here so I wanted to pass this on.
http://shop.htcpedia.com/htc-rezound-extended-battery-tpu-case-hard-rubber.html
Now I realize they want ALL the money for these cases but they look nice and we don't have many alternatives. Cool thing about these is that they don't add any thickness. I was going to just buy a regular size case and cut it until I found these. I will report back after mine comes in. Let me know what you think.

I just ordered this one from Amazon. I will give my feedback when it arrives.
http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Tra..._1_2?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1326919397&sr=1-2

I was in the Verizon store and picked up one of the Verizon silicon cases for the extended battery. They didn't have it on display and it took a while for them to find it out back. It is a cheap way to keep your phone safe until some better cases hit the market. It also doesn't add too much thickness.

I have one of these. It literally is just the regular tpu case with the back cut out to accommodate the extended battery. Works alright for what it is, but can't believe they sell it for more than the normal case. I bought it when it was on sale for almost half off, so was alright.

Bought this one too... It's a decent case. The texture/design is different from most other cases (see pics on the website), so that's probably why the OP doesn't like it.
Me, I don't like it as much because of the color, adds even more thickness to the phone with an extended battery, and leaves the top and bottom exposed.
Use it mainly when it go somewhere that I know I will be using my phone to watch videos.

I just wanted to check back on this and review this case a bit so yes I quoted myself. The case if you look at the pictures on the HTCPedia site is basically a TPU case with a cutout that goes around the extended battery. The case fits tightly, looks cool, and provides exactly the protection I was looking for. Has cutouts for all the buttons and plugs. It is very light and seems well built. I recommend this case and would buy again.

I own both of these:
http://shop.htcpedia.com/htc-rezound-extended-battery-tpu-case-hard-rubber.html
http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Tra...=UTF8&qid=1326919397&sr=1-2&tag=5336653508-20
I prefer the one with the cutout back. It is a little thinner overall(since no back) and the space around the buttons is a little bigger.
I had trouble pressing the power button on the diztronics.
Both good cases.

Can either one of you post pictures of the silicone case from a side view? I just want to see more angles than they show on the site. It looks pretty cool thoug and I think I may get it, and an extended battery of course.

I just received this case yesterday and I got to say that it is a pretty nice case if you're looking for a tough case. I've been looking for a case like the Otterbox since it appears they will not be releasing a defender series for this phone. This one is actually the opposite because they put the hard case on the outside of the silicone case. They did this so when you don't need/want the plastic part, you can still use the silicone part as a case. The metal kickstand is also a nice addition, especially since I tend to watch netflix on my phone quite a bit. It is a universal GS2 case, meaning it fits ours and the international version. It has a notch at the bottom for the international's home button, and has the hole at the top for our noise cancellation mic. You do have to work it a bit to get the plastic part over the silicone, but really that's a good thing. Also the button feel is really nice with this case. Feels better than when it's just the phone itself. They also got the phone to me quickly. I got it about 3 days after I ordered it and it came from California to South Carolina, free shipping. So if you've been wondering about this case or wanting another option for a tough case, I'd give this one a try. I love it. Oh and there are also other colors available.
dang, i was hoping this would be about the rum.
looks like a cool case, thanks for the review.

I've been looking for something since falling out of love with the Siedio Active combo, but I really dislike how the holster has that circular portion resting directly against the screen. That just can't be good for anything over the long term.
It doesn't touch the screen. There's plenty of space.

Like I said the buttons feel better than without a case. As for bulk it adds a bit, probably about as much as an otterbox defender would. It is a tough case afterall. Trident also offers other cases for our phones.

TRIDENT AMS-SGX2-BK Kraken AMS Case for Samsung Galaxy S II - 1 Pack - Retail Packaging - Black
The Kraken (AMS-SGX2) listed in Amazon for the GS2 doesnt say whether they are for the i777 but clearly look like they are for the i9100. It does say that they fit the GS1 though.
Anybody have more personal input on this case yet?
Please post pics if someone gets one on our AT&T version.
I have the green one now. It is designed to fit both. There is an antenna hole in the upper right corner in the silicone. The hole for the microphone at the top is grooved(in the silicone) in such a way that the at&t and i9100 can utilize it. Overall it is a nice case but the two halves(front & back) seem like they don't snap together tight enough. Maybe it won't be a problem but only time will tell. Also, the plastic seems to slip out of my hands more easily than a case that has more silicone.

Thanks fellas. I'm thinking about getting the Red one myself but I would like to see pics of it first, dont want it to look pinkish red
Can you post close up pictures (any color)?
I'll try to post pics if I get the chance, and I can find my camera. I use my phone for everything and haven't used a camera in ages. I have the red one and there is no pinkish to it.

Anyone tried this Trident Case?

Its called the KRAKEN AMS CASE, it looks super rugged, id say that it probably offers more protection then the otterbox defender. Id have no problem tossing my rezound across a room in this thing if it is as solid as it looks. Ive been looking for something that resembles the Sedio convert series case for the rezound. i loved it on my thunderbolt, id drop the thing purposfully onto cement from about 7/8ft just to show how good it was.
http://www.tridentcase.com/case/htc/htc-rezound/htc-rezound-kraken-ams-case.html
if anyone has tried it let me know your thoughts. $50 is a bit steep for me to just go and buy it.
If it comes with the holster that is not that bad.
I just ordered a Seidio Active for mine. I have the Active for my previous phone (Dinc) and have liked its protection. The new one for the Rezound without the holster (which I never use) is $20
yea it has a holster, lol what looks like a holster because its tiny, that might be a good thing now that i think of it, the only thing i didnt like about the convert case on the thunderbolt was the huge holster getting in my way all the time.
That Trident case looks bad ass!

wow it looks great. hows the kickstand? on the web it looks a bit flimsy, but in your pics it looks like its pretty good.
The kickstand is real good, its made of metal and its sturdy. It clicks into the back and stay secure when you arent using it. So far it's one of the best cases I used..I had a incipio before this one and I really like this one more, it does add some bulk though its definitely as big as the otterbox defender cases.

Thats not the same case thats why its cheaper. Its the same brand but it doesn't have the kickstand like the one in the OP.
My friend has that brand for his DX. I think it could take a bullet. Unfortunately when he has it in his pocket he looks like he is happy to see everyone though.
Trident cases are probably the strongest I've ever used on any phone. That being said, any plastic that they color will peel eventually. It's kind of annoying since the case is so amazing. And Con is right, that thing will take a damn bullet. The fact that it has most of the rubber on the outside instead of the plastic could really help the peeling issue.
I wish they made sweet cases for extended battery

It looks like it might be able to fit the extended battery. If you mod it alittle, like cut the back part of the rubber under the plastic part and possibly leave the back door off the phone. But I haven't tried it. It does make the thickness about the same as when the extended is on it, so it might work.
Just tested out the case with the extended battery and it fits fine aslong as you leave the backdoor off. You also would need to cut a hole in the rubber for the battery to poke out. The only thing is that the area near the camera is going to be showing the inside of the phone since the backdoor would be off.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the phone will work without the back cover or at least a portion of the back cover because of the antennas.

No not really, but waiting almost a month for something un-tested take the excitement out of it. I did find they are selling cheaper on the sellers site but the site is a little sketchy. Will post the link later.
One thing i did notice later is that the volume and power buttons aren't covered. Those buttons take the most abuse so having them covered would be nice. Still, I'm very tempted to buy a case.

Ok, ordered this one: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax..._1_4?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1334182757&sr=1-4
Estimated delivery May 8 - May 21 - I'll report back in a month...
EDIT: FYI the cost listed (if you buy it through Amazon) includes shipping - that's the total cost on my receipt, and S&H is $0.00
EDIT2: As of this morning, the order has shipped - expected delivery May 21st. So whatever the slowest shipping from the UK is, apparently...
If anyone's wondering, I looked at the website and compared the Amazon listing and their site.
This is the same as this.
It's selling for $14.50 on Amazon, and 9 pounds on their website--which is about $14.30 according to Google. The price from the site does not include shipping, another 2 pounds or $3. Amazon is definitely cheaper, since shipping is free.
These are nice looking. I think I will try one out. Thanks for sharing the link.
Arrived today - 9 days from order date - not bad. Pics attached, sorry for the quality - from a work BlackBerry.
Impressions - good fit, minimal bulk, but it gives better coverage than the Rearth Ringke slim I've been using, and feels like it would handle a drop better. The back plate just lies in the "tray", so I had to adjust it once on, but then seemed snug enough. All the ports and mics are open, buttons are easy to reach. Easy on, easy off - stiff enough I don't think it will stretch. Has a bit of a matte finish feel, so won't slide in and out of pocket as easily as the Ringke, but not sticky. Does hold the camera lens off the table, but the front rim is under the face so it does NOT offer any protection when face down.
My Ringke slim is cracking because I remove it multiple times a day to dock, so I think I will use this as a daily once that dies.
Any other questions?

It's definitely there, but thinner than others I've tried - about like the Casemate barely there. The Ringke slim is the best really thin one out there, I think, but you don't get the coverage...
I can live with this - you can tell you're using a case, but it's not bulky by any means.

anyone with seidio active holster check something for me

I always need a hip holster for work. I have dropped many phones in the past.
however done like any case over it.
I was wondering whether i can use seidio holster with the naked phone.
Can someone with the seidio holster post some pics and give a small review of using the naked phone with the holster.
Thanks and appreciated.
Youd be better off with an actual belt clip case as i would think the holster for the Seidio would render the phone very loose.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
Nope, it won't work dude. The clearance on the clip extends too much past the width of the top of the naked gnote. It was built to spec to only fit the active case. Other cases might work but I'm not too sure about it.

Good question man, putting in a solid non-abrasive filler might actually work. I'm headed out in a bit but I'll post some pics when I'm back later.

That would be great.
I wanted the pics to make sure I can do something.

when using with only the case half part ( minus the holster ) ... there is very minimum added bulkiness !

I always need a hip holster for work. I have dropped many phones in the past.
however done like any case over it.
I was wondering whether i can use seidio holster with the naked phone.
Can someone with the seidio holster post some pics and give a small review of using the naked phone with the holster.
Thanks and appreciated.

I did get a black version of this. However it not great to use with naked phone.
I have already modified it by adding more components. That works good. I will post some pics

I have one of these, but ran into a problem and went back to my Seidio case.
I'm a lefty, and keep the phone on the left side. Getting in and out of my Mustang, I constantly knock the phone out of the case.
I loved the case, very thin, no bulk, tried it on my right side but couldn't get use to it there, felt strange. At least it was only 10 bucks. If you carry the phone on the right side, or don't have to crawl in and out of a low profile car, it's a fantastic case/clip for the money.
As promised here's some pics dude.
After a closer look with the naked gnote inside the holster, there's too much clearance everywhere that it might be more trouble than its worth to mod it.

I don't understand how you could "knock the phone out of the case" when it's really snug fit ??
( takes a bit of effort for me to slide the phone out of holster and case ...etc )
also... with the scenario that you have mentioned... I find that by turning the holster sideways really help
This is my solution for the time being.
I will post pic with my phone insitu later as i took pics with my phone.
I'm wondering if you can use the Seidio holster with an aluminum/TPU or plastic bumper? Seems it would work. Also then with an extended battery attached it wouldn't get in the way.

Worth trying it out. I don't use a case at all and has not found a naked holster yet.

Are there any of the kickstand cases that will fit with the seidio holster?

Seidio does.
I was thinking of something more like this one or the Zenus case below it. I don't really want the bulk of the active case. Too bad they didn't make an innocase for it.

Extensive Cruzerlite Androidify Review (gtfih)(pics)(gudstuff)(new juicy watermelon)

im extremely picky about things like this. first off, hands down, fully impressed. from the packaging presentation, to the quick shipping, and the product quality.
surprised noones posted pics of the packaging, etc from this company. bigs ups to murphreesboro.
Im really digging the droid "etched" designs. The overall feel is a matte feel on the back, glossy on the edges and inside the "cuts". In certain light the glossy cuts and edge give a very interesting appeal to the case. The raised edge around the camera is a big plus as you wanna protect that cam glass deep in there as much as possible. No problem popping out the stand, easy. All buttons are easily pressable, and the thickness of the casing isnt too much to make it a hassle or annoyance. Power button is properly cut with no overlaps. My monoprice cable fits snug and easily in the port, no trimming necessary with this case.
the fitment is very snug, i see no problems in the future of this getting loose or flopping off. The thickness of the tpu adds no incredible bulk, i prefer slim and sleek protection. Overall, supremely impressed. Ive put the xacto knife away, no cutting or modding necessary for this one. For basically $10, you cant go wrong. Imma grab a lime green one too!!
these following pics taken with the LTE
packaging, zip lock bags, business cards, etc. didnt arrive squished up or anything out of the ordinary.

got my new juicy green case in. anyone got a taste for watermelon?
i love ittt!! I'm soo diggin the green. its got a nice green glow around the edges in the right light. very hypnotic.
the blackness of the lte's back casing gives depth in the rear as the darkness comes slightly through the deep cuts of the androids, very cool effect

Did you buy if the cruzerlite.com or amazon and Why you no post links
Wow that looks like a cheap plastic pos.....sorry op nice review
I bought from CruzerLite directly, and used code "xda" to get an extra dollar off. $11 shipped I believe. I've never owned a case because I hate them, but this one is incredibly awesome!

How long did the shipping take?
I have a few...great cases.
Fit is perfect and they look great.
The power button takes getting used to but otherwise one of the best cases to keep overall size down and maintain the form of the phone.
I have the seidio surface holster which this fits into perfectly.

heres a good video review
They had a buy 2 get 1 free with free shipping last I looked, not there now Was like $20 for 3 shipped
Edit: Code is B2G1. $22.70 for 3 cases shipped!
I just got mine in the mail, and so far I'm very happy with it. It fits great, looks and feels like it could be part of the phone itself.
Cutouts are great, I have no problems getting to the keys, and cutouts still feel tight enough that I don't think they will collect dust under there. I kind of wish there was no cutout for the kickstand (since I don't use it), and I think that opening is large enough to trap lint and loose tobacco from my pockets.
The finish is pretty hard and smooth, though not shiny (as you can see from the original poster's pictures). Kinda feels like the back of Samsung Epic.
The ridges on the sides are great, the phone feels more secure in my hand.
Case doesn't seem to add too much bulk (subjectively, of course). Still feels very thin and light.

It took one week to arrive from the moment I placed the order. I placed the order on the holiday though, so that likely slowed my delivery.

So between this and the Diztronic, which adds less bulk/size?

I own both cases and i would say they are very similar. You cant go wrong with either case and neither one adds much bulk at all to the device.

If you do not have amazon prime I would get them from the brand store @ cruzerlite.com they offer free shipping after 25 USD for domestic orders
How many others had issues with their power button, constantly turning itself off when trying to turn the screen on, seems to get stuck, even though none of the case touches the button...

FYI Amazon also offers free shipping on any order $25 or more, since it qualifies for Amazon's SuperSaver program (called something like that).
