Galaxy Note LTE..In hand review..tons of pics - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Pic links should be back up by the end of today 2/3/12
direct link to the album still works
For those not aware, I have had the benefit of having a great friend at Samsung that allows me to view/test/play with devices before release.
Previous devices on ATT Galaxy s2, the 10" and 8.9" tab, Skyrocket, and most recently the Galaxy Note. He has been dead on with release dates on all of the above.
What I have so far:
Confirmed as available for retail 2/19/12, pre orders begin 2/5/12
The 18th is on paper
Now..the good stuff..as mentioned, pics are typically forbidden but I grabbed what I could. When I hooked it to the PC he got all freaked out about what I was doing so..no dump (yet)
I liked the device. I am 6'4" and it was comfortable to hold...I could thumb type, one hand it no problem. The screen is absolutely amazing. Clear, crisp, no signs of flaws save the minor discoloration (similar to blobs) on dark grey backgrounds...so barely noticeable that I think i noticed them, but could not reproduce them for further observation. Pulled a few HD vids on you tube and wow...it didn't put the Skyrocket to shame, but the difference was noticeable. Much crisper, more vivid..NO LAG. Both devices tested equally on speedtest.net on LTE. This bad boy never lagged not once and the new touchwiz was pretty cool, but only a few new additions. I failed to take video..I grabbed a snapshot and doodled on it with the pen and that was about it.
The bad...
The speaker appears to be the same as the Skyrocket. Plenty loud in a quiet setting but drowned out in a crowded In and Out at 10 pm. Call quality was awful..I made two calls, each to someone sitting at a nearby table. I could barely hear them, they could barely hear me. May have been the environment, this place was packed.
The stylus was a neat gimmick. With some practice it might be pretty cool but I did not get the feel I would use it more than to just show it off. The hope would be that developers work it in to more apps. I tested it with the built in Memo app and texting. Texting was awful...if you want an example try evernote...it really seems counter productive.
Overall it will be a great device, but it does not offer enough for me to ditch my skyrocket. If you want the screen size, and resolution, it's an OK upgrade. I can not justify the cost right now. We have more upgrades opening up on other lines later in the year, and I will evaluate offerings at that time. For now I will keep my Skyrocket.
Oh..NFC is a maybe at this point. The device on the inside of the battery door this guy claims is an antenna...Some report it as being NFC...
I will do some more research.

Device pics..taken with our Skyrockets
My source called today to let me know he has one in hand. I hope to get a chance to play with it by the end of next week.
As a few people know, I had the chance to play with the SGS2 and Skyrocket much prior to their release...and this guy was spot on with the release dates for those devices
I have posted this thread as a spot for all of you that seem interested in it to post questions about the device and I will do my best to test/eval/answer based on hands on experience with it.
so..whatcha want to know.
I will be trying to meet up with him next week.

yes sir if you get it in hands some side by side pics of the sr and Note would be great along with the date and specs of course.
but im really thinking of making the switch so someone actually having it in there hands with a skyrocket in the other can really give us a GOOD review.
no need to write a book or anything, just the basics would be nice.
and Thanks for the heads up.

Full retail price? Thanks.

Price and Im sure it will have the Snapdragon proc... and possible ICS?

So what is the release date????

@ 00mred00
Once you get it - please dump the rom, put it on some file share, and let the good folks here at XDA root it and start cooking prior to release. CM9 alpha for euro Note with Exynos and HSPA+ only radio is already out there - once we get root it shouldn't take long to port that CM9 to this Snapdragon version with LTE radio.

+1 for no commitment pricing and launch date!

Pm me on how to pull a system dump
In the past there were two things I absolutely was not allowed to do
1. Take pics (though I took them anyway)
2. Root the phone
Samsung employees have no idea on pricing guys...that is determined by att...so that one will remain unknown.

I'm assuming you're on PC, not Mac or anything else. Go to folder, where you have ADB installed (once you install USB drivers for PC the folder will be created, usually something like C:\Program Files\Samsung Handset USB Driver) Then change directory in command prompt to that folder with ADB.exe folder and run:
Code:
adb pull /system C:\system_dump
and then
Code:
adb pull /data C:\data_dump
usually, dumping system and data folders are enough to root.
If you want to dump the whole phone for rom chefs to start cooking once rooted, do:
Code:
adb pull / C:\full_dump
Dumping whole phone will take a while to complete. You may need to create those system_dump and data_dump folders or full_dump folder in the root of your C:\ drive - it depends on command prompt version you're using. Older Windows might need it, but not Vista or Win7.
Edit: some data in the /data folder will allow to uniquely identify the phone - it'll list IMEI and other things. Also, make sure not to have emails, where subject may contain personal info - emails wont be readable, but subject will be visible. If you're going to dump and share the whole phone - dont put personal stuff on sdcard or at least remove it, once the rom is dumped to your HDD
Edit2: corrected folder location bug in the instructions above

available?

Probably a release date would be the most beneficial. Anything more descriptive than Early 2012, or Q1 2012.
Although a long shot im hoping for the exynos 1.5ghz(4212 not 4210 which i know doesn't support LTE well) its been out for 7 months, and knowing samsung they like to keep it in house. Slim chance but still a chance!.

Remember the ad for the Touchpad? The one that uses "Works like nothing else" ?
As I'm sure you've probably already heard, Wednesday, September 14, 2011 2:26 PM, Apple sent out an email ad that directly uses Hp's classic ad slogan.
What kind of marketing strategy is this supposed to be?
HP Using the Slogan
http://www.hp.com/united-states/webos/us/en/tablet/touchpad.html
Apple Using the Same Slogan
http://images.apple.com/dm/us/11/4831/i/ttl.gif
Apple tends to steal things straight like this all the time, one of many reasons I hate the company. Remember what Jobs said: Good artists copy, great artists steal.
HP won't be needing it anymore
I showed my apple fanboy friend the said evidence and all he said was "Apple probably did it first."
*facepalm*

Yep, they also think Apple invented the mouse first and the GUI "windowed" OS
ah but there is a subtle distinction, HP's is WORK and Apple is everything. Probably enough of a difference to get by a court.
Well, I guess if that's how you dig up dirt on the competition, then I'm all for it...
Apple actually says that their ipad2 does things. Hp is just saying that you will be surprised how buggy and slow their OS is after buying their tablet for 80% off retail. Basically HP was being sarcastic. Lose sound on your previously 500 dollar tablet on a daily basis and have to resort to command lines or restarting to get it back??? "Works like nothing else".

That apple product better do "things" when it costs at least 400 dollars
Also there's a patch in preware to restart the audio (pulse audio) with a press of a button. I guess you didn't take the advice of someone else to install preware when you were complaining about the lack of a video player that works?
I mean really, I am not sure the touchpad is for you. Perhaps you should sell it to someone who wants to develop for it at the price you paid for it? Not trying to be mean, but it really doesn't seem like you have tried doing much of anything other than complain. There's solutions out there, they just require you to root and install the community stuff, but this is xda after all and people should be used to doing those things.

Ahhh, but in America, you are now taught (and shown) that you are entitled to have everything handed to you without actually working for it.
Successful entrepreneurs and businesses are punished with bigger taxes and people who can't cut the mustard have it spread for them by our liberal government.

First, when HP made this ad the Touchpad was the same price as the iPad . . . I have preware, installed the first day I had the Touchpad, first thing I did with it after initial setup. I have done all due diligence to get this thing functional, and its not. The patch you speak of is not a fix. Its not a solution. Its exactly what you call it, a patch, over a gaping wound in the OS. Having to tap an icon to have it run the simple command line "stop pulseaudio && start pulseaudio" is not a fix. Its a ridiculous workaround that should never have had to exist in the first place. One thing I have found though is that users of WebOS are some of the largest apologists for GAPING bugs I have ever met, especially over on precentral. Reminds me of Windows Mobile days. Here is evidence that I knew about this patch before your kind of snotty reply: http://forums.precentral.net/3164593-post194.html
Don't worry, the Touchpad IS for me. WebOS is what's not for me. It stinks in its current form, which is sad because of how much potential it has.

What are you even talking about? Tell me how to stop WebOS from losing sound, not how to restart it which I already knew using the Xterm method and which I already read about the patch over on precentral earlier today. Tell me how to get a semi functional browser which isn't ridiculously slow on WebOS. Not asking for anything to be handed to me. I am not the normal complainer who can't do 5 minutes of research. I have spent hours since I got this thing trying to fix bugs until I gave up and chose to wait for Android to be ported.
Also, in case anyone was wondering, my initial comment in this thread was a JOKE, which both of you took seriously. Remember what a joke is?
Such anger over an OS, lol. Linux always has bugs, it's just the nature of linux, even android has them

Not mad at the OS at all. Annoyed perhaps. Also annoyed at your response to what was a joke, which made several false assumptions.
I understand bugs completely. I don't understand how HP thought this thing was ready for primetime or how it was worth iPad prices in its current form.

They assume that everything was invented first by Apple. I told my friend about the new iOS notifications system on iOS 5 and how they, pretty much, stole it from android and his response was: "yea but look at how many things android has stolen." Talk about ignorance.

It was a rather big stretch to tie in one's political viewpoint and observations with a posting on Apple stealing, lol.
You know, I kind of figured that it was an inside thing. Maybe HP and Apple are the same people?
Maybe it was- maybe it was all a test. I mean, why else would Apple do something like that. And it's gotten very little coverage mind you.

[DISCUSSION] WebOS and Touchpad future

Hi everyone!
I already replied in some other posts about this, but I really think this topic deserves a new thread, because the things going on are truly interesting.
This is the latest news about WebOS, it seems it will most likely be sold to another company, which it's still unknown, though there are possible candidates.
Here the news: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Exclu...2.html?x=0&sec=topStories&pos=6&asset=&ccode=
What surprises me most, is an answer the new CEO gave during an Interview, about the WebOS devices future:
"The question now before us is what do we do with webOS software and do we come back to market with webOS devices," Whitman said. "It obviously will not be the same device but it will be version 2.0."
Click to collapse
That 2.0 makes me sort of confused and curious at same time.
In the meantime, it seems lots of other Touchpads are acquired by lots of new customers and even more are interested: https://developer.palm.com/distribution/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=18954
What do you think about?
I was just concerned about them using the TouchPad to revive their PC business. Aren't their PC's good enough on their own? Guess not. Whatever.
If the plan was to stop making the TP1 available to make way for the TouchPad2. That would make sense.
Course, with HP, it's just this:

Or was, now with Meg Whitman on board, it's like this:
I think if there was ever a possibility to get more webOS into our hands, they hired the right woman for the job.

Two things here....
If webOS is sold, it will be primarily for the patents, not to further develop the OS and APPs. As far as "normal" consumers are concerned there are currently only two mobile OSes, iOS and Android. Nothing else will sell in significant volume.
The interest in the TP has only ever been generated by the extremely low cost. Who wouldn't want a fully functional piece of hardware for $150 when the next best thing is over $400. Nobody can manufacture, market, and distribute this level of hardware for less than $300 and make money unless they have boat loads of content/services to sell behind it... HP doesn't have the content.
As good as it may be, WebOS is dead and HP has sealed it's fate.

Although your guesses don't explain that sentence by the new HP's CEO about "new" Touchpads during the interview...
Maybe they will port Windows 8 on a "new" Touchpad revision/version?
Here is a fairly recent news about it: http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/10/24/hp-testing-windows-8-on-touchpads/
If that would be the case, I'd be really happy if things will be compatible with current TP, I'm not concerned about WebOS itself, but more about new portings on this hardwares.
For the rest, I really hope CyanogenMod will continue with Android releases on this tablet, hoping for at least a good Beta version of Gingerbread, and would love the new ICS (when and if sources will be available of course), or at least Honeycomb.
By the way, I can't seem to find the news unfortunately, but it seems WebOS has been updated with new Patches/Apps and maybe content during the last days of October if I remembe correctly. It makes no sense if WebOS is definitely dead :-\
And the recent TouchPad Developer Device Purchase Program (https://developer.palm.com/distribution/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=18954) would be also a nonsense, given the current situation about WebOS.
I still think we don't really know what's going on, and I personally can't guess what's going to come next.
But hey, I like talking about it, so please share your opinion if you care too!
People keep saying it's dead like it didn't just get 200,000 new users, 2 Firmware updates, and a constant flow of new apps which is more than any other tablet has gotten in the past month!
And despite the fact that it is one of the newer tablets, it is a new tablet!
The HP TouchPad was well received, it's one of few concerns was the hardware. Which isn't bad, it's just different.
It could be said that everyone who has a TouchPad now, we're in good standing.
Two operating systems. The power of synergy. Uniqueness in the tablet arena.
It could go either way. They could sell it, to which end who knows. Or they could keep it, to which end who knows. Or they can sell parts of it and keep parts of it, to which end who knows.
Either ways, big TP is still, still, the best thing there is, at the moment.

Don't confuse "Touchpads" with "Tablets" yet to be developed. Meg used similar language when she spoke to the HP Employees back when the decision to keep PSG was announced. She indicated that for HP to stay in the Personal Computer Market they would have to have a tablet offering, but that it would address the business market, not the consumer market.
For the rest, I really hope CyanogenMod will continue with Android releases on this tablet, hoping for at least a good Beta version of Gingerbread, and would love the new ICS (when and if sources will be available of course), or at least Honeycomb.

AMEN!!!!

Yes there are updates, but it makes all the sense in the world. There is still a large division within HP that is working on WebOS and all of this is supposed to enhance the value of WebOS as they try to sell it to someone. HP would be stupid to just stop development and watch the value go completely to zero.
I still think we don't really know what's going on, and I personally can't guess what's going to come next.
But hey, I like talking about it, so please share your opinion if you care too!

The Touchpad was a consumer play. There's no guessing about what happens next. Like I said before "normal" consumers only want one of two things, iOS or Android. It doesn't mean that either one of them are better than WebOS. When is the last time you saw a movie released on BetaMAX or even HD-DVD.
Don't get me wrong... I love my TP and I think WebOS has a lot of virtues, Apple and Google just had too big a head start and in an effort to differentiate themselves from the myriad of Android Tablets, HP took a shot at WebOS.

tablets push google .
xD
srsly
another thing is why are people treating this device like a G1 or something.
It wouldn't make any sense for CM to not continue supporting the TP.
most of the hard work has been done, why would they stop now?
Not only that, but the TP has a large user base.
Just because you don't see 50,000 roms in the forums, doesn't meant it's dead.
Most are merely waiting for ICS to drop.
I know I am. I know a group of us are going to be working on getting ICS on the TP once source gets released.

And you're talking a person who owns an iPad, iPhone and a TouchPad, whoa! That's just impossible! Lol
The fat lady has not sung. The TouchPad tragicomedy is just filled with twists and turns and surprises around every corner. Until then, people are going to be doing what they've been doing: sitting in the dug out until the next play is made.
If there was a better tablet, I would have moved on a long time ago. But it's just too good to put down.
The tablet market needs tablets like the TouchPad or it will continue to get stale.
So, I would say there's a high possibility. I feel like the new HP is different from the old HP, Meg Whitman knows how to please.
But even if nothing happens, the TouchPad is perfectly fine as is. And ICS is gonna make it even better.
I really appreciate your replies!
I wish I could help somewhat developing an ICS port for the Touchpad, though I'm still too newbie on that (never done something different from re-compiling a new kernel for my smartphone).
I really hope community will continue to develop on this device, lots of ROM's are anyway pointless, the main things are stable releases of Android OSs!
At any rate, I'm still curious about WebOS future and HP next steps on this, so please share any news/opinion you got!
I got a TP anticipating an android port. Playing with webOS while waiting, I came to the decision that I prefered it to what I expected of android for the screen size. Since the CM alpha release, I haven't had reason to change my original opinion. Mind you, I run CM nightlies on my G2, 1.9hhz OC, etc. Android is great for phones, but unless ICS makes some very serious changes I think it can still lose marketshare to a better os.
The question is if HP will commit the right resources to a real try at the market or pull the same ***t a second time.
Sadly, the only thing I am really hoping to see would be Ubuntu with the Unity interface.
Sent from my very "non-stock" TP.

[XPOSED][MOD]TinderMods v1.0.2 - Restores the 'last seen' on your matches.

All this module does for now is restore the last seen time on your Tinder matches.
It currently works only with people you've matched with and not when you swipe.
Hopefully future versions will include more features.

Tested on Tinder versions 4.4.4, 4.5.2 and 4.5.5.
Tested on KitKat and Lollipop.
26/03/16
Released version 1.0.2 that now supports KitKat as well.
Would love to hear suggestions, comments, bugs and positive / negative feedback.
And if you'd like to, buy me a beer (or a bottle of Chandon )
I been looking for something like this
Any Screenshots or anything? Proof that it works? Tinder version required and such? It doesn't work for myself so would like more info.
Confused..
I'm utterly confused... What purpose does this mod have?.. To show what? Why would you want your matches to know your on 24/7 ... Isn't that counter productive

I assumed it restored it for you to see when your matches were last on. Not letting yyou matches see your "last seen" but you see when they were on.

Up to version 4.3.5 of Tinder, you could have seen the time when your matches were last online.
This feature was removed on version 4.4.1 and forward. What this mod does is simply bring it back.

It was tested on versions 4.4.4 and 4.5.2.
As I said in the top post, XDA won't let me link to the repo or post screenshots because I am a new user.
Just google TinderMods xposed and there is a screenshot on the repo website.
I tried this with 4.5.2. I can confirm it is working, although the format makes me do a double take. It's listed as 16/2/16...........instead of 2/16/16......and a 24hr time stamp.
In the US, usually we read dates as month/day/year, so if you are not used to reading the day/month/year, it'll take some getting used to. I've used Tinder since it first came out nearly 4 years ago, and have seen the app change quite a bit.
The OP can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the OP's purpose for the last online time stamp is to determine when the person was last online so....in theory you can tell if they are ignoring you after you send a message, b/c if you sent it, then they were online, they likely saw it and are possibly ignoring you.
This is the reason why I think Tinder took away this option was b/c of it allows ppl to check messages without the scrutiny of giving the perception of ignoring the person LOL. Tbh, it's not an issue based on my experience (as a guy), b/c:
1. If the person likes you, they typically respond very quickly. That has been my experience.
2. If they person does not respond, they either are never online or are not interested so you are wasting your time anyway.
I can't seem to get it to activate. I installed the module, rebooted, and still no dice. I even tried reinstalling 4.5.2 but nothing.

If they picked you they were online at some point. That doesn't make sense. I'd rather women just unmatch if it's that they don't want to talk. Online dating is either a cheap thrill or stressful depending on your personality.

Thanks for the mod. It is useful. As I said before I've seen the app change during the years. Before it used to also be much leaner, then the app seems to have progressively become more and more "bloaty"

Sure that is true. Again, Tinder has changed a lot since I first started using it. In the US, Tinder is FULL of bots. They are profiles which send automated messages. This really took off around late 2014.
From when it first came out until, I'd say late 2014, Tinder was great. The app was lean, less bloat, no bots, and girls who were on there were worthwhile. You also had unlimited swipes, they didn't charge. Now (today), the app is heavy although gotten better, girls are on there are usually a waste of time, there is a limit on swipes, etc.......Usually most girls are just wasting time with it.....

WT* Fake green battery icon without replacing device.

Well, Again....
We have read that after replacement on device (Or by updating latest ROM), Your device status bar will have green battery icon as well you will have extra battery icon in power menu
OK, here is screenshot how easily it can be faked
Again this is not fake theme but faking that device is safe and that's why started charging 60% + which is more unsafe.
Responsible developer can never share this but what if someone have did this?
Even this can be toggle too. Look attached video
So Now before boarding, N7 users require to reach half an early and pass through an IMEI check by aviation authority is the only safer way? OR N7 users should ever need to keep their device turned off? lol !
Here screenshots : Initial screen where notice about device is unsafe and later two screenshots of fake icons.

This is bad if people can fake it. I was really looking forward to Note 7.,Now I'm thinking if I should go for the S7 edge or some other phone. Wouldn't want to waste 60k on a device that's unsafe.
But S7 edge has smaller screen, and I'm habituated to the big Note screens.
Tbh, I dont see this as an issue when phone is purchased from Authentic sources because Samsung will not play such cheap tricks particularly given the market they lost due to initial explosions. They simply cant afford it.
Having said that, getting a second hand or Grey market device would be very risky.
Also, the resale value of the device would go down.
Exactly. There is no doubt about safety when we purchase from authentic source but yes I mean t say how about safety of other If someone sell in Grey market or second hand. Also what if some culprit take risk on board by switching on a unsafe device.
My humble request never buy a N7 which is already rooted.

Matter is how poorly coded safety check. If billion dollar company making a security measure such a way that can be fooled by 40min then it's disappointing. Secure folder and Knox are so hard coded that no one yet can break it on rooted device. Does such kind of security measure shouldn't apply here? This one is more important then Knox and secure folder. But just doing this because of hurry?

Color me unconvinced by those pictures. How do we know the "warning" shot was taken after the "green battery" shots? Or how do we know that the IMEI of the phone in the "green battery" shots isn't good? There were phones (Chinese and Vietnamese) made in the first batches that always had "good" batteries. For consistency I'd imagine Samsung would push the "green battery" update out to those phones. There were 33 processes updated with the "green battery" update. I might be naïve but I'm assuming some of those updated processes were system files that aren't accessible without tripping KNOX. I could be wrong but so much in this thread is hearsay and lapped up by the audience as fact that I've become even more skeptical whenever OMG! is involved.

Ok.
But what stops someone from changing the battery to a third party later, do they deserve the green icon? I think so.
If not, think about all the third party batteries out there...what makes them less likely to explode.

My source is me. After you take an update when the phone reboots the first time it says "Android is upgrading." It counts down the number of files, apps, processes it's updating until it finishes and reboots.
I can let you know that delta airlines and a few airports only advise that the note 7 can't be charged or on while flying. They don't actually check. I just got back from Kansas today after being there since last Sunday and my phone was not checked at all. I even took pix and vids of the sky during flight. Atlanta, Minnesota, Kansas and ct are the state's I flew to/from. Going into tmobile tomorrow to exchange for the replacement.

General Well I cancelled my order….

I am very sad to say it but I have cancelled my order. I just cant justify paying what this phone costs for something that wont even let me use Android Auto and keeps switching Google apps to Oppo even after setting Google apps as default. I will continue to lurk and hope for a day when we see this phone released with a Global version. Thanks to everyone for all your answers and feedback, it is appreciated.

You’ve done the right thing. No matter what someone else tries to tell you about rotation apps or how the general experience isn’t a problem, I’m sorry, but it is. You just saved yourself a crap load of money and I’m happy for you.

It is interesting that you are active on this forum. This community is all about customizing devices, and making them do things they are not originally intended to do. If you come here, you will get recommendations on the same. For those that want a phone to just works, buy one from your carrier, for those that want to play with tech, and force it into submission, buy one that is not meant for your carrier, visit XDA, and get to work.
Also imapfsr has received the feedback they requested here, to include the recommendation to not buy the Find N.

Who says it’s about customisation? Do you make the rules? It’s nonsense to say ‘buy one from carrier’, what are you on about?
This person wants honest opinions, he does not want to waste over 1000 bucks for some person to say it works because they have downloaded an app on PlayStore to work around the devices limitations. Don’t worry he’ll wait for your analysis on Android Auto.
You say most of apps works, 99.999% would work fine, yeah OK….have you used every single one of PlayStores apps? Do you know every little UI issue on every single app? I doubt it.

For your first question... It's in the name "XDA-Developers", and if that is not enough it is in a statement on their home page.
Ask what you want, but if you are coming here to ask questions you should expect responses that include customizing. imapfsr was smart in coming here because they knew they did not want to do heavy customizations, and asked questions that lead to not buying the phone. You on the other hand seem mad that people are offering up solutions to these issues.
Last, if you want to quote me pay attention to context, it is important. My comment was this:
I said 99.9999% of apps would look fine in landscape mode, and to turn to portrait for the others. In a later post I offered to test specific apps for anyone that would like. This was in response to you complaining about the phone being in landscape by default.
Do you also complain about all the default portrait phones that force you to turn into landscape when you launch a game?

Your argument about games makes no sense - most games force landscape mode, that’s just games - most other apps don’t force landscape mode and most people aren’t playing games most of of the time on their phones, so that’s awful comeback.
Context doesn’t make your argument any more relevant. You have no idea that this % amount of apps ‘look fine’, stop pretending you know more than you do. Also why would offer to test apps? Who on earth do you think you are? Please calm your ego. You are a nobody. No one’s care about you testing anything.

And I thank you for that as well sir!
Hey you guys, nothing this trivial is worth arguing over, we have enough garbage to deal with nowadays to not get pissed over this. I appreciate everyone's help and feedback for and against. I am just looking for everyone's honest opinion and I always get that here without question. As I have stated previously I have messed around with phones since the original Mi Mix but I am passed the stage of wanting to do that anymore, I just want my phone to work...who knows, global version maybe or late news is looking like maybe the Google Pipet might be Find N like so we will see. Ideally that would be perfect...a Google foldable in the flavor of the Find N with pure Android...yes please
Thanks again to everyone!
You have made a great choice. Great hardware, poor software with way too many irritations. I sold mine 2 days after getting it.
Good luck to those jumping off; but I've been using the Find N a week now, and very happy with it (Fold is going on sale shortly). It's just an all around better package with better trade offs (for me) than my Fold. Every phone has trade offs, and it is true there are some things that might not work yet (Android Auto) and some that are annoying (aggressive battery); but with the Fold the form factor is just not quite right (for me), and it always felt like a folded in half iPad Mini which doesn't fit comfortably in the pocket; where the outer screen is too tall and the keyboard too narrow such that the outer screen isn't very usable; and then the weight in the hand is unwieldy due to the length. I can understand if there are deal breakers for some (such as for those where Android Auto is a must have), but so far there aren't any for me.
@conceptgate
What do you mean with "(Fold is going on sale shortly)"?
Do you mean the Oppo find N going on sale soon?

Haha got it! enjoy it
All Samsung Fold's are even not close to this phone's build quality, if this phone came with global version than for the moment no any fold can be a competitor.
