Cyanogenmod 9 alpha 0.6 released - TouchPad General

Dalingrin has released a minor update to the cm9 alpha.
Update is in the ongoing alpha thread at Rootzwiki.

Changelogs :
Alpha0.6 Release notes:
Another minor release. While working on bigger problems that will take a while I wanted to push out an update for some things that have happened in the last few days. This is primarily to get Flemmard's work out for more testing. This contains the start of CyanogenMod settings. However, most of the settings are not functional on tablets yet.
With this release I will also provide two flashable zips to allow you to easily switch between lcd density 120 and 160. The default is still 160 because it offers the greatest compatibility. Any lcd density value between 160 and 120 will ruin market compatibility. For those that would like a "higher resolution" look and feel, you may flash the 120 lcd density update.zip. This will copy a new build.prop and will update the launcher for proper display. I strongly recommend changing the font size in Settings->System->Fonts if you chose to do this. The 160 lcd density update is provided to easily revert the change.
Touchscreen fixes
Ability to hide the combined bar(navigation buttons and clock) for full screen. This uses the ICS api so it will require app support(not all apps have been updated). This is an option under Settings->[Interface]->System->Combined Bar (Credits to Flemmard)
Scrollable quick settings. This will require tweaking later to allow it to be bigger on the Touchpad but fixes overflow issue on 7" tablets with the new Bluetooth toggle. (Credits to Flemmard)
Reboot to recovery is working via the power menu(hold down power button). Note: reboot will sometimes shutdown rather than rebooting.
Preliminary support for Rom Manager. In order to use this you will need Rom Manager Premium because it is not official yet. In order to use it you will need to execute "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" in Rom Manager. Confirm the model is cm_tenderloin, say yes that you have installed manually, and check ClockworkMod 3.x. Now you can use Rom Manager to flash update.zips. Official support should come soon.
Other general changes from syncing with latest changes

Some time ago on a different ROM, my WIFI broke and I've only now found the time to recover/update. Been using an ICS port on my phone and it works far better than any 2.3 ROM. Definitely excited for this.

Im on 0.5 now can i just flash 0.6 through recovery now? Are we at that point yet where we can do this without going through acmeinstaller?
I think there are mixed feelings about going through recovery right now?

You've always been able to flash through recovery, even the early CM7 builds.

Just like nburnes said, no problem at all.
I did exactly that, without any problems.

Thanks just checking..

You should also apply this fix for reboot issues on the power menu where it will shut down instead of reboot. Scroll down to latest release fixes and workarounds.

[ROM] MIUI.US MIUI4D2G 1.10.21 Needs GB!

This is MIUI for the Droid 2 Global. You will need to be on Gingerbread .606 or .607 before installing any build after 1.9.16!
Currently everything is working except the alt lock key. Bluetooth should be working now too (please let me know if it is/isnt)
It is highly advised to have your phone activated before installing this rom
Get the update from MIUI.US' download page

Droid 2 Global 1.10.21
http://www.multiupload.com/GUZ75UEDX8 (Test rom with Bluetooth working and updated init (less sticky settings))
Changelog:
Updated to 1.10.21
FINALLY Switched to Defy Base
Updated to Android 2.3.7
Included governors and scripts from Droid X Chat
Included Bootmenu
Brought in changes over 1.9.16.1 (Any GSM tweaks you guys were using before should still work)
Includes MIUI Control now
Speed increase
Included smartass governor and others
Note: The 2 usb icon's is not an issue, it is due to the new usb toggle
Notes2: Over the next few releases I will be doing a freeze on adding new features and trying to get Bluetooth to work and fix some other small issues
Notes 3: You will most likely need to wipe data and cache for this update due to our base switch! (should be the last switch in a long time!)
Notes4: The phone is underclocked to 1 Ghz by default! Go into the boot menu and set the voltage and cpu speeds you desire. you can also set the governor to use here too!
To get to the boot menu press volume down when you see a blue light come on at boot!

http://www.mediafire...7xkg88bx99wod1y MIUI4D2G V 5.0 (froyo)
http://www.mediafire...aexgk9sercps8qn Overlay I am using incase I ever quit (for reference) (5.0 Froyo overlay, DO NOT USE FOR NORMAL INSTALLS OF MIUI, THIS IS FOR DEVELOPERS ONLY)
Note: If you try to switch network versions you will need to erase /system/ /data/ and /cache/ and then install whatever version you want. It caches whatever mode you are in and that will cause problems if you do not follow the method listed above.
You can use recovery! Go to the rom manager and in there install droid x (2nd init) and then it should work! That is apparently the only way to get there.
Dont forget to clear data and cache after installing or else you WILL have a bootloop
Donations are MUCH appreciated!

Thanks go out to CVPS,Framework43, Revnumbers, Gasai Yuno, Asphyx, x13thangelx, Bikerdude and the rest of the CM4D2G team!
Thanks also go out to the person who made the MIUI honeycomb theme that is used in V5 as default!
HUGE thanks to Droid X Chat for the work I borrowed from him! (bootmenu, user init's, etc.)
Reserved
Also, please donate if you think my ports have made your phone a better device! Not asking out of greed but because I have spent so much time on this rom (quite literally if I quantified it, I would have almost a months worth of workdays in it)
i have been meaning to try this rom out. how well does it work.
i am on a .608 update would it still work with my phone?
awesome rom. i like it way better then other ones i have had on my phone.
Works pretty well. Only bugs are BT, a couple sticky settings and alt lock key. The BT and a few more sticky settings will be fixed this upcoming update (likely around sunday or monday). I hit the same performance of around CM. Slightly lower because MIUI is a heavier rom but it is faster than Blur. It gets slightly less battery than blur but better than CM.
Despite repeated efforts .. when I flash rom it boots to white motorolla
icon and never goes past. Sbf. 607. Wiped cache factory reset before and after flash

If you boot to a white moto screen, then you never updated to GB. Most GB updates on Moto devices have a red logo.

You hit the nail on the head! You need to be on gingerbread at first. With the updated band unlock that exists on rootzwiki you don't need to be on froyo for anything at all anymore. Also I updated the OP with an updated 1.10.21 with working Bluetooth and fewer sticky settings
ALT lock dosnt work on. it isnt big problem but its a bug .
Everything else work well for now.
I like MIUI, but I have GPRS and bluetooth problems on this rom, so I keep waiting for the new release.

[ROM]StreakDroid4 2.5.0 (Suspended)

Introduction:
StreakDroid 2.5.0! The rom that began everything is coming to the Venue! If you've seen all the stuff I've released on the Streak 5 area you'll know that I host all my work on the generous space donated by DJ_Steve on streakdroid.com.
Soon I'll be using more then just the space, I'll also be using the name! This is a test-run for the Streak 5, while DJ_Steve is busy porting ICS to the Streak 5 and 7 I'll be continuing the GB version of SD.
With SD4 released it will remain primarily as a base rom ready to accept custom kernels. For the Streak 5 kernels such as the DSC, G(X)Kernels, and the venerable StreakDroid kernel will be the heart of the SD whole.
Unfortunately I will not be preparing kernels for any devices, so the S5 will have the choice of 3+stock kernels while the venue only has stock
UPDATE: I am suspending development of SD4 250 for the moment, I simply do not have the time to complete it.
Roadmap:
StreakDroid4 250 is out! SD5 250 will be ready in a couple days!
Requirements:
Clockworkmod installed
Recommended: Stock 408 installed
Install instructions:
Download [Temporarily not available]
Copy zip to sd card
Optional: create an install.txt (Example install.txt)
Switch ringer to UP position
Enter recovery mode
Flash StreakDroid
Finished
Optional: Install Dell Stage 1.5 (Not yet available) or Dell Stage 1.6
Optional: Install Battery % theme (Not yet available)
Optional: KOR install.txt switches:
Code:
noapps - Removes optional apps
noswype - Removes Swype
ldpi - Sets screen density to 120
mdpi - Sets screen density to 160
Included features:
An actual custom rom for the venue
Based on 408
Deodexed
Zipaligned
Bundleware removed
Speed tweaks
Debranded
All languages available in the Nexus S 2.3.6/GRK39F rom [38 Langs!]
FAQ:
Why doesnt MMI/USSD codes work?
Unfortuantely they dont work in any GB based roms for dell devices, until dell makes a GB rom with it there's very little that can be done
Do I need an install.txt to install SD4?
No, it is optional, it will install fine without it
Can I overclock my device with this rom/kernel?
No, unfortunately I am not ready/able to make custom kernels yet, this still uses the stock kernel which cannot OC

If/when I can get CWM 5.5 to compile I will release that, CWM 5.0 is not suitable for normal users on the venue
In the process of re-adding the translations from NS2.3.6,
Going to take at least a couple days to do basic testing.
Likely going to skip releasing the preview release and jump straight to releasing it as a RC, if the RC goes well SD4/SD5 2.5.0 final will be released simultaniously.
(I didnt realise how similar the S5/V's roms are, the app folder is nearly identical so there's no reason to delay SD5 250)
Edit: Added some sample screenshots from pre-release
The version number in the 2nd screenshot isnt real, it will be it's correct one on actual release
The notification bar toggles are not native ones, it's merely widgetsoid with advanced options
Not everything is fully translated in those pics, they will be by release.
Edit2: rom is nearly complete, beginning testing phase
looks lovely specially the notification bar....
waiting for it.
Bad news guys
SD4 250 will be delayed another week or so,
Good news:
[Recovery]Clockwork Mod 5.5.0.4 IS A GO!
SD4 250 itself is going well, now that CWM is available I can release it as a update zip instead of as a fastboot image.
The installer will use KOR like previously used on SD5 19x and 24x. If you've set up an install.txt for the Streak 5 this is the same thing.
This time though the defaults will be much more reasonable and even if you decide not to use an install.txt the rom will be set up in the most likely usecase mode.
Themes
I see you are using battery icons from Vertumus. I am interested in really only changing my stock battery icon, would the metamorph instructions found in his post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15818170&postcount=2 work for that?
Since i can release it as a update.zip i'm gonna make the batt icons optional and not installed by default.
Those might work as the layout of SDx 250's framework-res is for 100 battery icons and not 20 like stock android, but there's no promises it'll work without manually patching

Can't wait to see this on our Streak 5.
SD4 250 is out!
SD5 250 is not yet ready, it will be soon. Depending on how SD4 250 goes it'll help me determine what still needs to be done on SD5 250
What are the differences between this and stock 408?
In the OP you state that having 408 installed first is recommended. Won't a Venue coming from a non-408 ROM suffer the flashing capacitive lights issue without 408 being installed first?
What languages are supported? I only need english, but I know that this will be asked.
copy StreakDroid4-250.zip to SD card, then install it with CWM? my rom's 408

deodexed 408 -> SD4 250 is all the common tweaks organized into a rom and the rest of the rom debranded. Deodexed 408 isnt debranded, it's only slimmed.
The venue doesnt seem to have the blinking leds 'feature' I developed SD4 250 entirely on a device with 321 installed and never installed 408, that's why it's recommened and not required.
There's too many langs to list, whatever was on the NS is also in this rom. All the big common ones are supported except arabic as the NS doesnt support that either
i tried install SD4 follow steps:
1- install CWM
2-copy SD4.zip into SD card
3-reboot. enter fastboot, choose update->enter CWM-> install file sd4.zip-> yes->complete
after i click power button, choose reboot device
but my venue can't boot, it has stopped at DELL logo (
my rom's 2.3.3 408 KR
I believe I know what happened, I thought it was taken care of but apparently it isnt.
It's the reason SD4 took so long to prepare and why SD5 still isnt ready.
I'll push out a new kernel tomorrow or so if everything goes right, I believe that will fix it.
The install fails for me if fac reset and install, it boot loops.
But if you install 408 deodexed and let it boot and THEN install SD4 250 it works for me.
This is in no way acceptable, but I thought I had taken care of this before release.

i wish you release it soon
Is this a "plain vanilla" GB ROM without Dell bloatware such as Stage UI?
Yeah, I also tried this on my GB 408 ROM and it got stuck on the Dell Logo. Reflash again and everything goes back to normal. Hope the fix will come out.
But of course, Kudos to your patience and eagerness to develop ROM for our Dell Venue!
hello, where is zip-file?

This is sweet, good job!!
I followed instructions to the letter. Seemed to flash fine but it is now sitting at the black Samsung screen screen for about 20 minutes. How long has it taken for 1st boot? Tried re-flashing, clearing cache, etc.
change your kernel to rj's kernel and flash again.
rj's kernel says it is for International SGP not US. My SGP is US so I am not sure if this kernel will work.

figured it out. i have a USA device as well and had the same issue. It was also strange as to why the flashing process only took like 5 seconds....
i flashed rj's kernel (so my buttons stopped working) then i restarted recovery just so the changes get applied. then i proceeded to flash miui. just make sure in the install options you selection USA keyboard patch and the install process should take much longer (that means its working) and bam.
EDIT: ok so the buttons light up but they still don't work. after booting to miui and sat at the homescreen for a minute or two, reboot and flash entropy's kernel.

So after a couple of hours searching the web, it may be that the GPS problem is inherent in MIUI 2.3.

[ROM][Unofficial CM12][5.0.2]CM12 Preview Builds for Deb - 1/06

For those who want to get in on CM12 pronto, here is a straight-from-CM-source build. The usual disclaimers: I'm not responsible for anything going wrong, including but not limited to bricking your tablet, requiring reflashes, or the NSA spying on you.
I will update this post with new builds as I create them every day or two, depending on what changes are merged: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/status:merged+branch:cm-12.0,n,z
If something doesn't work, I doubt I can help you, I'm not developer. I just ran the build and installed it on my Nexus 7 to see if it works (it does!). No cherry picks, just merged CM ROM/Kernel. However, if something doesn't work, post it.
What works: Everything stock plus a few CM features.
What's broken: Some people report data connection problems
What's here (1/03+):
Battery % indicator in notification bar, choosable icon
A bunch of behind the scenes stuff
Trebuchet
Status bar brightness control
Single-down swipe for settings panel for swipes on the right side of status bar
Privacy Guard (including Privacy section in settings)
CM File Manager
Advanced Reboot
CM Superuser controls
Double-tap status bar or lockscreen slider to sleep
Notification light controls (including custom lights for individual apps)
Codec enhancements
Option not to have the screen wake on plug
ADB over network
Voice wakeup
Lots of CM app Material design changes

Latest bootloader installed via fastboot

I tried the 12/17 build but got bootloop city even though I had already been running a Lollipop ROM. I was grilling some buffalo wings (woohoo!) at the time so I had waited well over 20 minutes. I'm trying again so I can try to grab a logcat if it doesn't boot this time.
Edit: Oh snap! This time it booted! Thanks for your hard work to everyone involved
The LTE radio seems a bit wonky, being disabled until I toggle airplane mode on and off again (after which it seems to work fine). Also, it gives some 5-digit number for my carrier as opposed to saying "Verizon Wireless." I tried to grab a logcat but it didn't contain anything useful. Sorry ?

Carriers have unique ID codes. Apparently matching up those codes to their respective carriers hasn't been done yet.
Thanks for the heads up on the radio.
Wipe cache and dalvik is needed for first install, then no problem with boot.
Works good, thanks
Working fine. Thanks for supporting DEB
Working VERY fine. No radio issues for me, German APNs seem to be in order, as well.
deb build
Full wipe works best from km 4.04. Great so far with everything working to plan. Not used cm since my Xoom days.
First of all, THANK YOU for supporting deb! :fingers-crossed:
I tried to dirty flash over an existing AOSP install first (I know, bad Ambious) and obviously it didn't boot very well (it actually started deodexing, then stuck at 'Starting apps').
So then I went back to recovery, full-wiped, flashed clean.... and nothing. Endless boot (people throw the term 'bootloop' around where it's actually just a boot hang).
Tried clearing cache, dalvik, fix permission even - to no avail.
I also can't logcat because the CM default requires manual authorization... :/
(I have everything backed up so it's no biggy, I just really wanted to try it).
Any tips?

flash your previous ROM again, flash CM12 over it, and if it gets stuck on "starting apps" again just do a normal reboot. It's really weird how a simple reboot after one of these lockups works better than starting over from scratch. I've only rarely ever seen this be the case, and I've been flashing custom ROMs since the Eclair days.
Bum, now stuck in boot whatever, I'll try a reflash later.

Amazing how the simplest of solutions sometimes pass by us.
It actually worked
Thanks!
Can some people test GPS for me? Thanks!
Worked fine for me last night even indoors. Not got round to a reflash today though so on kk at the moment, not sure why it wouldn't boot up this morning even with a soft reboot.
Clean flashed 19 build and gapps, all working as it should,no issues with 3g,GPS or videos so far.????
GPS works great for me ?
Mmmm battery stats saying 4hours left o 82%, better watch that.
As soon as you turn it off and back on it goes into bootloop or sticks on upgrading app.

Wow Los has finally arrived for the Jewel but my Jewel is no longer with me
I can't seems to use external sdcard as internal there's simply no option to do it while formatting. Other then this it's pretty snappy thanks again.

Thanks for testing! Try the new Nougat build—I wasn't able to move apps onto the SD card (that is a LineageOS bug), but I was able to format it as internal storage.
I couldn't install the latest build 14.1 well just keeps bootlooping at the HTC screen.
Wipe
Install latest build
Install Gapps 7.1 (tried without installing this also) still no go ?

There appears to be an error in the build. I will upload a new build within a day.
Edit: New build has been uploaded! Please report if it works.
Never thought my Jewel would ever see Nougat (let alone Lollipop or Marshmallow). Just flashed and all is working well so far. Awesome work!
God tier work here, I'm blown away. I misplaced my Moto G 3rd gen somewhere in my apartment, so I've given up and dusted off my Evo. I was set to just use the Viper 4.1.1 that was on there, but some apps weren't installing so I came on ol' XDA. This is much more than I expected, thank you.
With that said, any tips on getting this to activate on Sprint / Ting? It was working fine on the old rom, but not kicking in here.
I know this isn't totally related to this ROM, but maybe it can be. I'm having issue with this (and most other ROMs I try) where the per button works physically, but only the buttons light up. I have to press the power button several times to get the screen to wake. This isn't consistent though. Seems worse if the screen has been off for a while. Does anyone know of a fix, and if so, can it be incorporated into this ROM? I know there have other threads about this but it seems like they have been dropped.

I believe that the service must be activated on a stock ROM before flashing a custom ROM. Then, the correct APN has to be set according to the carrier under Settings > More > Cellular networks > Access Point Names.

I am not sure of a fix, and I have not encountered this issue, but have you tried enabling Wake device using the Camera button under Settings > Buttons?

I've tried that in the past. Forgot about it this time around. Tried it again and it seems to be about the same as the actual power button for getting the screen to come on correctly.
Good ol' Jewel. Is this rom working ok?
My wife is temporarily using my old Jewel because she dropped & broke her crappy samsung phone. can someone please tell me how this rom is working?
I appreciate your time!

The ROM is working fine for the most part. The battery is not great, but that may be due to the battery's age. Additionally, there is a bug with BoringSSL that sometimes prevents the Play Store or Gmail from working temporarily.
sounds good. yeah, I'm sure it's age. thanks man. take care-
Trouble with WiFi
Did a Full factory reset, installed rom, gapps, and supersu from TWRP, factory wipe again from TWRP; now the OS is installed and running but after connecting to my home network, says no internet access although the netork is up and running normally, all other devices connected. Any thoughts or suggestions. I have a backup of my previous state, so I can revert, but would like to keep this on 7.1 for consistency between this and my primary device. The primary use for this device is media streaming.

I believe that the WiFi issue have been fixed in the latest build (20170522).
Thank you for this rom!
I had been using cyanogenmod 5.0 and dirtyunicorns 5.1 both were solid roms. Unfortunately the latest apps seem to run a bit slow on them. I thought it was the device but after installing this rom everything is snappy! It manages 1gig of ram better than any other rom and that 1.5ghz dualcore still runs strong. Snapchat is way more responsive on this rom, instagram and fb run without problems. GPS, 4g, sms, wifi, camera, sd storage, everything works! I've only noticed a few bugs. The wifi activity arrows don't show when something is downloading/uploading but wifi itself does work. Also, even tho I have working active cell service, it tries to activate itself again everytime I reboot and fails but calls-sms-data continue to work lol. The biggest bug is that auto-rotation stops working after 30-60 minutes and it stays stuck on portrait mode. Nothing but a full reboot will get it working again, a quick softboot won't fix it. I've tried changing the rotation settings and also added some lines to the build.prop but no solution thus far. I love this rom so much, if it's not fixed I might try some auto rotation apps. One last thing, it would be cool if the # in the status bar would go away after I close whatever app has root. The previous rom I had did that. Thank you so much to all the developers for bringing life to this phone!

Thanks for trying out the ROM! The WiFi activity arrows are intentionally disable on LineageOS. I do not currently have an active cell service on this device, so I am unable to fix the activation bug for now. Could you flash the patch below in recovery and test if autorotation is working properly? It should also enable the option to hide the Superuser icon under "Status bar" > "System icons".
