3G Issue - HTC Jetstream

Hi Guys
i found a problem on my jetstream i want to know if any one are facing this problem and if you can help me to sort it out
my jetstream is network unlocked and i am using etisalat SIM card and i don't have any problem with etisalat SIM card
but when i use another SIM from another network Glo, I don't have any internet connection at all, take on considerations that i configure the APN correctly for glo
so if any one has jet stream network unlocked if can try another SIM to so whats is going on?

do you have the little bars that indicate connectivity?
have you added a new apn, or modified the old one?
when i have more than one apn in my list i get a little blue dot that indicates what apn is active, if you have more than one, try make the otherone active.

all of you what you mention are already done

I'm using vodafone hungary 4g network perfectly. My jetstream unlocked and worked with t-mobile and telenor network also.

HTC Hero 3G question

Hi,
I have a question about the 3g network. Well recently i tried connecting to vodafone and noticed that there is no 3g icon on the status bar unlike from the orange network. My question is that if there is no 3g icon, does this mean i do not have the 3 g coverage ? I tried connecting to the net, i put on the right settings APN, proxy.... but in vain. all i get is the message that i have to enable mobile connections which in fact is already enabled.
Can anyone here clear my mind please. thanks.
P.S I have no problems with the orange network. 3 g, Hspda everything works fine and fast.
You need to make sure you have a 3G SIM card for Vodafone. If you just pulled one out of an older phone (especially one that did not have 3G) then the SIM is probably only good for 2G (GSM/GPRS). The 2G and 3G SIM cards look identical, but they have different information on them.

for sure it is a 3g simcard. on other phones, coverage and data connection works fine but on the hero....
But on the Orange network are you not using an Orange SIM? And on the Vodafone network using a Vodafone SIM?
Only other thing I can think of is Vodafone don't have 3G coverage at the exact location you are trying?

well yes. i actually have two sims and 2 phones but i would have prefered to have the vodafone one on the hero. Vodafone do have the coverage cause my other phone do have the 3 g coverage.Cannot figure out where is the problem. Called the guys at vodafone and all they could tell me was that they do not have any settings for the phone, that they cannot help me cause they do not provide the pphone here.
Hmm....the APN setting and everything should be the same regardless of 2G or 3G data connectivity. Actually, that is something to check if you have not already. With the Vodafone SIM in your Hero when you go to Settings->Wireless Controls -> Mobile Network settings you might want to make sure "use only 2G networks" is not checked. Also make sure the Access Point Names is configured correctly. I don't know what they are for Vodafone, but a quick Google should tell you. Other than that, hmmm.........

Yep , i did everything right. still......
Try locking it in 3g mode. I have a rooted G1, you get to the menu by typing the following into the dialer:
*#4636#*
after entering that sequence it should goto a menu, pick the first item and scroll down and see if you can change from "CDMA preferred" to "CDMA only" or whatever your 3G equivalent is.
This is based off a G1 with a Hero ROM, so results may vary. Let me know if this works =)
Also make sure that you are switching over to the Vodafone APN settings. You can have the settings in correctly, but if you don't switch to that profile, then it will try using the Orange. This is the most common reason I have people in my store with data connection issues, they have the right settings, but didn't select the right profile.(I sell cell phone and cell phone accessories on a GSM network in the US, so I get a lot of unlocked phones in need of setup.)
Problem solved. A moderator could kindly please close this thread. thanks to all who helped. Cheers!!!

hi friend,
well there was nothing to fix as such. it was a misunderstanding.
One thing i came to know is that 3g will appear only is there is a data connection ...and if your apn is set correctly.
and another thing that was resolved is that htc hero cannot connect to vodafone live here in romania because it is only possible through wap bla bla bla a lot of crap.
This was the answer of vodafone representant: For the moment, the service vodafone live we provide cannot be accessed through new handsets with new browsers such as n97,iphone htc magic...

[Q] Galaxy SIII says it is roaming, but it is not

Hi,
I just got a Galaxy SIII, and I paid to unlock it with one of the codes over the internet.
It unlocked fine, and when I type: *#7465625# everything is listed as unlocked.
Only thing that might influence it is it is a Vodafone Ireland phone, but I have a 3 Ireland SIM in the phone.
Would flashing a different firmware help here?
Sorry about the question, coming over from HTC so just getting used to it.
Phil
Check that you are using proper apn settings

APN
The APN details are correct, and there are no other APNs set up on the phone.
Thanks for the reply.
I had this om my SGS2 and it drove me potty. I thought my phone was borked, but it was normal behaviour from my old carrier, Tele2. They're Swedish based with a Norwegian "branch" but since I was in Norway I was always "roaming".
Don't use them any more. Any chance 3 Ireland does something similar, or linked to 3 UK?
I had an issue like this on my HTC dream because i was on everything everywhere (orange and T-Mobile) and when it changed from one to the other it said roaming but I never got charged for it.
I've noticed that for some carriers the galaxy does not show any APNs, like when I insert Orange sim the mobile data works fine without APN in the list but when i insert a sim from diffrent carrier it says that the phone is roaming, when I updated the APN for the new carrier and set it to default the roaming triangle was gone...
the bottom line is if you set an APN it doesn't mean that the phone is using it
check if there is a green dot beside it.

[Q] Using 3G network instead of 4G on HTC One

I'm wondering if I'm the first guy on earth experiencing this problem.
I got an AT&T unlocked HTC One (M7) in the US and brought it with me to Brazil. I introduced the SIM card in it and it worked perfectly for phone calls. However, I can't get the internet access through the network. Brazil only works with 3G at the moment.
I called HTC and they told me to dial *#*#4636#*#* and change the settings for the network under "set preferred network". They told me there would be no guarantee this would work, but I should try.
I tried all the options from WCDMA, CDMA, GSM Only and so on and still could not get the mobile data access.
Right now, internet works only with Wi-Fi. So, he said that I could try finding help on XDA Developers.
So, is there anyone who knows what I should do next?
I wonder if rooting would resolve it, but it seems pretty much a device problem.
André
Make sure you have a 4G sim and make sure you are in a 4G area
But also, are youtalking about hspa+ or LTE?

Reply [Q] Using 3G network instead of 4G on HTC One
I'm not in a 4G area. Only 3G.
That's why I need to change the settings. I tried also setting the APN settings and nothing so far...

take the same sim card in some local 3g andorid phone in brazil and try again .to make sure your sim card support 3g network , and you say you can not access network by your phone. i doubt if you have a data plan .maybe you should take a phone call to your carrier to check the data plan of your sim card
Thanks for the tips. I solved my problem by calling the provider. It was ANP setting issue. I wasn't getting it right the way it was supposed to.
Thanks again!

[Q] Verizon HTC One Max Hotspot Not working in Australia

Ive been using my HTC One Max in the states for 6 months and it works great. I brought it to Australia and am using it successfully on the OPTUS network with few issues. No 4G, but the H, or 3.5G network here is really strong. The only thing i need to change on it is the hotspot will not turn on with the OPTUS (local Cell provider) sim card in it. Actually, it wont turn on with the Verizon sim car in it either if its associated to an Optus tower. The Error that comes up when I turn it on is - 'An Error has occurred. Please Try again later.' Does anyone know a work around for this? Is it locked out unless it sees a verizon tower? THanks in advance))) Matt

E5823 - no 4G (UK)??

purchased an 'EU' z5c from ebay
I was wondering why I cant get 4g signal only H+ when in 4g areas
I have read the only difference between the E5823 and E5803 is the cat 6/cat 4 lte, I dont really know what this means but I assume this might be the problem
4g is set to 'preffered' in network settings menu
network provider is Three
any ideas?
Have you contacted your service provider? might be that you are prioritized to use HSPA, they might have to do a reset on you in their system or just enable 4G etc?

The phone was purchased unlocked and I have been using my Three SIM card in another phone (GS3 LTE) previously and this had 4G signal no problem ... dont see why putting the SIM into a new phone would then change some setting on the network provider's side..
I will contact them anyway
very disappointing I fear maybe this EU version is blocking Uk 4g somehow
thank you
