Help! Cannot Boot Into Recovery - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I'm trying to boot into the bootloader so I can enter CWM, but for some reason whenever I hold the power and volume down buttons my Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi just keeps showing me the "Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" splash screen and will just stay in a boot loop of that until I release power and volume down, at which point it will enter a normal boot and start up normally.
What am I doing wrong or what is the problem? I rooted back when I was on 3.1 and I did the OTA update to 3.2. Could it have something to do with that?
Please help. Thanks!

You have to leave the power button alone without leaving the volume button when you see the logo.

Just so you know, 3.1 with CWM and doing an OTA update will result in removal of your CWM. That's probably why you aren't getting it down right, that or you aren't pressing the right combo buttons.

Was pressing the wrong button combo lol. Thanks guys, I got it!

rooting the galaxy tab 10.1

I've been able to get as far as installing Odin but when I try to enter recovery mode I press the up arrow on my volume and it shuts off! I just need to install the tab root zip . But like I said it keep shutting off I'm stumped can anyone help me. I tried following the you tube video step by step but its not quite going the way the video says it should be please help:O
i need help too actually.
My tab is running the latest firmware from Samsung but I want to try rooting for the first time. I found the guide on the forums but cant even get past the first step. I"ve tried powering off the device, holding down the volume down button and holding the power button several times, waiting for it to boot into the download mode but whenever I do this, it turns on,shows me the samsung logo, then shuts off.it does this in and endless loop until I let go of both buttons and it just reboots as it normally would.
Anyone have any ideas?
regardless, if your tab is powered on or off, hold down the volume down (left) button... then while still holding it... hold down the power button.... keep holding down both.... once you see the splash scree "Tab" in white... release power... keep holding volume down.
A couple seconds later you will be at the prompt to select download mode or recovery
I did not see this very clear in any of the guides, but it is the same for all 3 of my samsung devices.
Thanks so much, I feel dumb now haha. Its odd b/c thats not how the HTC boot menu works. you hold down both.

[Q] phone turns on for 5 seconds then turns off

i was on cm 10, then my phone stopped turning on, so i used odin to get the phone back to stock android, and it still wont turn completely on. i think my boot loader may be messed up? i have no idea.
when i press the power button, first thing i see is "Samsung galaxy gt -I9000" then a screen that says "Vibrant" then screen turns black and nothing happens. i know its strange that it says gt - i9000 but thats what it used to be with the cm 10 roms.
i get to the download screen by holding volume up + power button. i can not get to recovery which used to be volume down + power button.
please help!

The reason you see Samsung Galaxy GT-I9000 when you boot your phone up is because you have somehow flashed Gingerbread bootloaders to your phone. GB bootloaders allow you to boot to download mode with UP + POWER and recovery with DOWN + POWER. This is a good thing though, I have GB bootloaders too and its much easier to boot into recovery or download. From what I can tell you need to flash back to stock again, make sure you have repartitioned checked, correct files can be found from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028. If it still bootloops then you may have a kernel problem, you could try to flash one of Fishman's 2.2 ROMS (Odin versions) and then flash a 2.2 kernel (Odin version), maybe this will boot your phone up.

Simply hold the button combination: power + home + volUp and the phone will restart in Recovery mode. Release just the power button as soon as the galaxy s2 logo appears but keep pressing home + VolUp

Galaxy S3 no power button, stuck at boot loop after flashing 6.0 cyanogenmod 13

Hi everyone,
I flashed the newest ROM from cyanogenMod to my old galaxy s3. I did this with the phone still on. After flashing, the phone is stuck in a boot loop. The problem is that I have removed the power button completely because it was faulty(even from the board). Has anyone had the same problem, or has any ideas what to do?
Thanks

I never had the same problem but you can try to hold vol + and home to go in recovery mode, or vol - and home for download mode
I don't have a power button. What you're saying can be done if you press those buttons along with the power one.

buy a USB JIG is a device that automatically enter download mode
Short the power button connections, if you can get at them.

Samsung A21s bootloop

Hey there, I'm stuck in a boot loop in my samsung galaxy a21s with the bootloader warning and the press power key button showing.
I used magisk to flash a custom rom and used odin to add it to my device. I'm kinda a novice when it comes to rooting so any help to getting out of the boot loop will be appreciated.
It will not boot to recovery or the download mode either
Fixed it! I just had to press volume UP and DOWN along with power until it rebooted and then afterwards I pressed volume UP and POWER to get to the download mode.

Very good to know , and thank you for putting it as you solved
Hey @synnre,
I have the same problem with the phone. It also shows "fingerprint protection failed" in the top left corner on booting screen.
The button combination you mentioned is not working.
Do you have any other ideas?
Thankful for any help!
