[Q] Button Mapping? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Is there any way to make it so that my keyboard presses simulate touch screen presses? For example if I pressed the L key it would simulate touching a certain part of the screen. This would make playing games on my prime even more fun! Thanks guys I tried searching couldn't find anything

No, not yet at least. Give everyone time after the bootloader's properly unlocked and CM and others' work will most likely open this option for you.
I'm unaware of any apps that would do this for you.

As far as I know the dev of this app:
https://market.android.com/details?...51bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5wb2tlNjQ3MzgudXNiam95Il0.
is working on something like that. In his forum he wrote that its already working, but he needs to finish up the interface to configure it and it needs some more testing. That was last week.

This is for Regular Unrooted users, any Questions ?

For alot of people, just having a Thunderbolt is great without rooting. I got a plain old Thunderbolt but I still need to ask some questions about some stuff.
So are you asking questions or answering question?
Just making a thread for us regular phone users who don't intend to root.

How do you get the compass off the top of the screen ?
I'm unrooted...I have a question. During the day in the office, my TB screen is clear and bright, however when I walk outdoors...(smoke break), the screen tends to get much darker and almost unreadable. Is there a setting somewhere to solve this?
thanks all....

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. If you're not, my apologies. Its just the LCD screen. Take any device out in direct sunlight and viewing the screen is difficult. There aren't any fixes or settings. Sorry.

That just means your GPS is on. Not active but on. If it was active you would see the little dish (half moon) symbol and the lines that move away from it.

My intention is to root but I am reading all I can before jumping in an doing it. I am not a geek, so am trying to learn what I can. Where better to learn than on a developer's forum? After reading that Verizon may be coming after the rooters, I am now a little hesitant.
Hope this answered your question.

Linux USB tethering?
Ok, this is my first post, but I have been lurking for a while (eris, now TB).
Has anyone been able to get the HTC built-in "internet connection mode" tethering to work on Linux? Using Ubuntu 10.04, Network Manager recognizes the phone as a modem, but can't connect to anything. Nothing in the browser, can't even ping by IP. I know there is a driver/HTC sync software it uses on windows - is there any way to make this work in Linux? Perhaps using ndiswrapper?
I've googled my fingers off and can't find anything related.

USSD Fix

Hi All
Is it possible for any DEV to fix the USSD Problem in Photon.
I have looked into many threads and nothing helped.
Seems like there is some patch which needs to be applied

I patched libril-qc-1.so in a way, that it sends a fixed length of 32 bytes instead of 4. (position 0xa8fc2).
Good luck,

Apparently folks are not bothering to read the forum guidelines yet again and could obviously care less. This has gotten completely out of hand so on that note I give you the following...
Camel+straw=back injury
(I will no longer be releasing or maintaining anything on xda until this BS stops)
While it is annoying, there are probably 100 good users to every bad one. So all hope is not lost. All we really need is moderators that actually frequent these forums to enforce the rules. It's not the userbases responsibility to report things and hope the mods do something. It's the mods responsibility to do the job they were given.
You know this **** is getting out of hand when important devs can't stand to be here anymore. Sorry Loki :/

Multiple pre-failures on primary (SMART monitor lit up like a christmas tree), must save data, grab backup (I have pets) hard impact with hardwood floor, grab second backup and in my haste plug directly into wall and (cue power surge) smoke not figuratively but literally. Three hard drives in about five minutes.
The only time I've ever seen multiple drives go at once was a voltage controller for the pci slots short and take out a RAID5 array in one stroke.
Well anyways, I will eventually get up and running but at this time it's really not a priority. Thanks to those that have donated and supported photon development and my work.

Never buy only a replacement digitizer, it's very difficult (nearly impossible) to separate without breaking LCD: https://www.google.de/search?q=separate+lcd+digitizer
Better buy a complete lcd + touch digitizer "assembly", they have become quite cheap (starting from 15$/€):

Pretty cool to have that

but i'm little curious. Apparently the display is ok, just the touch doesn't work. I've noticed that the screen is "transpiring" too much moisture and some screws and springs were rusting. Has anyone tried to find out why the touch fails along the time? its maybe a CI problem or umidity

Well humidity becomes a problem especially when the device temperature is much lower than room temperature (like when coming in from winter/snow ) because the air surrounding the device surfaces cools down and water condenses, even on the inside.. it happens with watches, too..
Or you (or someone close to you) might have dropped it into liquid (toilet?) when you were very drunk
in that case, take out battery IMMEDIATELY, dry clean with a cloth, carefully shake out remaining fluid, then put f.e. into a bowl of dry rice and wait at least 24 hours before trying to power it up..
