SGP products are here!! (2-10-12) - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Just got an email back from SGP.
They will be making the screen protectors for the AT&T version of the Galaxy Note.
The rep also said that the current cases should fit just fine but it wasn't an official confirmation.

Great just ordered mine from Amazon! Thanks
Sent from the SuperStreak! ;-)

I have the Ultra Olephobic from SGP. If you get a good application, it is pretty much invisible. The s pen works just as if you have no screen protector at all. I was skeptical of the olephobic properties, but I must say after several weeks of use it really works and is easier to clean than the stock screen.
The SGP comes with two protectors in case you bork the first one...I have used Zagg in the past but was worried about the s pen. I tried the s pen on my skyrocket and did not like the way it felt on the Zagg screen protector.
Just my .02 cents.

They didn't give me an ETA, but in the past they have been pretty fast to get the accessories out to new devices.

No idea man, haha

We now have the choice of 3 different screen protectors, ultra thin, and ultra capsule cases through SGP.
Just bought the oleophobic one with a blue case for my white note! They aren't cheap. But I've had one of their screen protectors on my Atrix since last March. Still in perfect condition and I can't even tell it's on.
Just wish they did free shipping...

They normally have their products with free shipping (with prime membership or with order of $25 or more) on amazon.com for the same price.
They don't have products for AT&T Note on amazon yet but should be soon.

I love this case too, but man $45 is steep. It's funny that they call it a "leather case" then say "faux leather" in the description.

You're looking at it

Personally I like ZAGG screen protectors. I have used them in the past and if they become damaged I just send it back to ZAGG and they send me a new one. Also, I am horrible at putting screen protectors on so I pay the fee at Best Buy to put it on and if ever I need them to put another screen protector on the same phone they do it for free. However, I'm just worried how the Spen will be affected using a ZAGG screen protector, or any screen protector for that matter.

My issue with Zagg is that you can see it. And if you can see your screen protector, the quality of the screen isn't as nice as it could be.
As for S Pen sensitivity, don't worry about it. The screen is not pressure sensitive, but rather the S Pen is. The only issue with a screen protector there, is that it can cause friction, and I know for a fact that the Zagg would do that more than SGP / Moshi.

I don't know what protector to get I want one that looks like it isn't there but I want the best protection on smudges and fingerprints

Get Ultra Oleophobic. It's as clear as Ultra Crystal but has oil-resistance coating.
Ultra Crystal - super clear, nothing special
Ultra Fine - Matte surface, anti-glare, not clear
Ultra Oleophobic - Ultra Crystal + oil-resistance coating
Ultra Optics - Matte, anti-glare + oil-resistance coating. much much clearer than Ultra Fine but reviews say there's high pitch noise when you swipe finger on it (like on vinyl)

I like ZAGG as well and have one on my skyrocket. When I received my GNote I tested the s-pen on the skyrocket surface and it is not smooth for writing on at all. The tackiness of the ZAGG caused my s-pen to skip. I then bought the SGP Ultra Oleophobic and it is SWEET! Invisible, the s-pen works like the stock screen and it really does cut down on face and finger oils and is easier to clean than the naked gorilla glass.

Naked gorilla?

I just got my case and WOW! I got the white case and it has nice sparkles in the back but not too girly. VERY well made and feels very stiff for TPU. I don't know if it fits the ATT Note yet because obviously.. Anywhoms, I did get a free screen protector for the N7000 and a lint free cloth.
Interesting note: It is marked 4G LTE on the back right below the camera cutout... I thought the N7000 isn't 4G capable? I did order the international version of the Note case. Very odd.
Heres the case link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006MIXD94/ref=oh_o02_s00_i00_details
I ordered on Feb 8th (11pm) and got it on Feb 11th (1pm). Very fast service from amazon!

False, they are not the same thing. I use it myself. It's thinner, had a whole different feel and is closer to clear than the ZAGG. ZAGG has major orange peel. They function the same way, but are not the same thing. I've been picking up the screen protectors for $1.49. It also has better cut tolerances, they cover more of the screen and are more true to size than the ZAGG.
Xtreme Guard products are usually cheaper on eBay, from the same guy. For some reason it's $2.00 + free shipping on Amazon.

Bought one pack myself. First one I was careless and got dust...second one went on perfectly.
3rd party ones are definitely cheaper but I hate how some are cut , given the nature of the glass on Amaze I figure its a pretty good option.

How does the boxwave Anti-Glare compare to the Crystal Clear? I've had the phone for a while now, I like the clarity without a protector, so I'm thinking of siding with the Crystal Clear.

All the anti glare ones I've seen are a lot more sensitive to skin oils and very noticeable grease look. they also make the screen look dull and not as beautiful. In my personal experience

My question is this: If the screen is gorilla glass, why would you get a screen protector besides the fact of glare???? is there something I don't know?
P.S. our screens are oleophobic, meaning they don't smudge as much as other screens with oil...my samsung galaxy tab 10.1 is an oil magnet but with this phone I have noticed very little oil smudges and wipes right off with a swipe from sleeve of your shirt or something.
I have seen specs that say it is and others that say it isn't.

It is I keyed my own phone cause I had insurance right when I got it...keyed the hell out of it...then keyed my gf old cracked 3g slide screen which is supposed to have gorilla glass, the glass on the amaze seems more resistant....HTC has stated that they do no use actual Gorilla glass but something more advanced...
I then took a knife SO I tested the 3g slide with mine and amaze is definitely more scratch resistant...NO GLASS IS EVER SCRATCH PROOF not even gorilla glass, take a sand paper to it and it'll leave scratches...so I guess if you drop you phone on sand or small pebbles you can scratch it no matter what you have..but as long as I don't have to worry about putting my phone and keys in the same pocket i'm fine...but it seems very resistant to scratch and smudge from my own experience. I absolutely hated smudges on my N1 and on my galaxy tab 10.1 I can't even tell on my amaze...
remember gorilla doesn't mean its shatter resistant...its only scratch resistant partially...although screen covers seem to protect from major scratches even sand paper... they don't protect form shattering...when I had an Iphone (big mistake) i used to have zagg, bodyguardz, gadgetguardz, and i still managed to shatter my screen lol...
if you have an older phone like an N1 take your finger and try to smudge the screen and try to smudge the screen on this phone you will see a major difference even if you have oily hands, the oil comes off with a quick sweep, as on my old N! it would smudge....
btw my gf sensation which is listed under gorilla glass shattered the first time she dropped it lol....here are some tests of gorilla glass and amaze glass
Gorilla glass

Amaze glass

I bought a 6 pack on ebay for $2, no special coatings but it does the job. Also got a couple small scratches with it in my pocket without screen protectors so I ordered the other day.

Spigen film screen protectors & Glas.t/Glas.tR
I have been a big fan and user of Spigen products for years and tonight I happen to find that for some odd reason Spigen has a bunch of products up for pre-order on amazon.com that are not yet available to order on Spigen's site or even listed on Spigen's site yet.
Two items are the Crystal Clear (Film), Oleo-Phobic and of course the ever popular Glas.t Slim and Glas.tR Slim. If you recall Spigen did not offer a Glas.t series for the GN2 due to issues they had so I was very pleased to see them return with a GN3 version. I have pre-ordered both the Crystal Clear (2 packages $1 each on promo as noted below) AND the Glas.tR Slim.
**** Well I spoke too soon, the price has now jumped to $9.99 glad I got in while I did. Still not bad for a (4) pack plus (1) back protector.
http://www.amazon.com/SPIGEN-Samsun...&qid=1378782251&sr=8-1&keywords=Spigen+Note+3
I have used both of their screen protectors extensively and I can say their Glas.t series is worth money in terms of durability, feel and clarity. Their film based ones are also a good deal and at the cost of $1 (right now) it might be worth stocking up just so you can have some spares if you wreck them.
Also they are selling the SPIGEN Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Screen Protector Clear [Crystal] [4-PACK] **Value Pack** Premium Front Screen Protector + Back Protector for Galaxy Note III for $1.00 as well. Jump on these asap. Amazon.com: SPIGEN Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Screen Protector Clear [Crystal] [4-PACK] **Value Pack** Premium Front Screen Protector + Back Protector for Galaxy Note III: Cell Phones & Accessories
The screen protectors are their film material ones, not their Glas.t series but for $1.00 you get (4) front and (1) back in the package. Can't go wrong.
The Glas.t Slim and Glas.tR Slim are $27.99 & 34.99 respectively and while there are cheaper versions available Spigen goes the extra mile to continue to push the envelope and get thinner and thinner without sacrificing quality. The Nano series is available for the GS4, perhaps it will arrive for the GN3.
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Prote...qid=1378782368&sr=8-21&keywords=Spigen+Note+3
Hang on so you got them for only 1 dollar? Wow.. Are you sure that's not just the pre-order price?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Nope, they were on there for $1 so I ordered (2) of the (4) packs, but then the price shot up to $9.99 a hour or so later. I also ordered the Glas.tR Slim $34.99 and I got the Neo-Hybrid Dante Red $1. If I had been smart I would have ordered like (10) of each and sold them for say $2-3 to help others out and cover shipping but I didn't want to get stuck with extras I didn't need.

What's the advantage of having the glass screen protector compared to the normal ones?

Its tough to quantify it, but its smoother, easier to use and you feel like you are using it without one on the device.

i think im going to get a glass one from spigen. will it feel like it doesnt have a screen protector on it?
Hi,
Apologies to what might be a stupid question, but could someone tell me the differences between the following two products, is it the same product listed twice but at different prices or is there genuinely something different:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/SPIGEN-Sams...54&sr=8-2&keywords=spigen+galaxy+note+3+glass

My question is:
Do we still need screen protectors.
Isn't the Note 3 using Gorilla Glass 3 now.

i was wondering the same thing about the Glass..... I'll still get a TG protector, better to be safe than sorry....
I'm not real picky. Never used a device with screen protector that I didn't like. To me, as long as it's applied correctly I don't even know it's there. Therefore cheaper is better. Bought a 6 pack of these "SUPERSHIELDZ- High Definition (HD) Clear Screen Protector" because it was the cheapest I could find. 6 pack for 6 bux shipped. Arrived in 2 days. Standard front and back peel off protectors for each one and 2 cleaning cloths. I'm happy...

It will feel just like you have nothing on the screen, its really the best way to protect the screen with a naked display feeling.

I am pretty sure that I have narrowed down my choice between these two.....
I cannot trust myself with a "naked" phone I need a full case, that being said I like the Spigen Neo Hybrid case.
Which protector would you recommend if the phone's plastic will never see the light of day.....
Should I go with the thinner Glas.t or will it not matter in a Spigen case?
I used to be a firm believer in using my phone without a screen protector but after having my LG G2 for one day (Gorilla Glass 3) I have 2 deep scratches on the screen after sitting in my jeans with my car keys. I thought keys wouldn't scratch Gorilla Glass 3 but apparently I was wrong.
I am ordering some Spigen screen protectors for my N3 for sure. Anybody know the difference between the Ultra Crystal for $15.99 and the regular Crystal for $9.99 on Amazon?

Mine still shows a ship date of 9/30 but I have two cases not due into stock until 9/30 my crystal clear screen protectors are in stock and now the Glas.tR Slim says 10/10 for stock but my entire order says 9/30 so I am not sure if their initial stock is sold out on Glas.tR Slim or what. But this is why I opted for the crystal clear film ones just case I ran into a delay I can't afford to go without protection.
My card was charged immediately though which is a BIG NO NO, they are not supposed to charge a credit card until an items is ready to ship which could get them into trouble with PCS compliance.

Anyone have an idea if DBA (Just like glass) will release a protector soon for the Note 3?

Diztronic Note 3 case

I've been a Diztronic case lover for quite a while now. They're so minimalistic and yet so protective. I've had one for my VZN Galaxy Nexus, Droid DNA, S4, and now my Note 3 just came in the mail today. It doesn't look like much but these cases have saved my phones from several drops including drops hitting the corner. I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone that wants good protection without adding a ton of bulk.
*Fair warning* - these cases do not come with screen protectors. I haven't ever used a screen protector on my phone without a scratch (plus completely unnecessary with Gorilla Glass 3).
Second pic is new case side by side with my S4 case. Now I just need my phone to fill it... ... ....
EDIT: Oops, for got to put Amazon purchase link
So the Note 3 does have Gorilla Glass 3 then? and you don't use screen protectors?

Yes, the Note 3 has Gorilla Glass 3. No, I don't use screen protectors. Completely useless to me. I bought my S4 on launch day, May 23rd. As you can see, even in this borrowed iCrap 5 photo, there isn't a single scratch. Also you see how snug the Diztronic case is around my S4.

My Diztronic case came yesterday. I too am a big Diztronic fan. I tried multiple TPU cases for my GNex, and always came back to the Diztronic. I do have a Spigen Neo Hybrid case also on order, but won't be too unhappy if it doesn't work out since I know I'll like the Diztronic. Now I'm wondering if the N3 with Dizronic/Neo Hybrid will fit any of the pouch/holsters I've ordered!

I have used a Diztronic TPU case on my S3 since summer 2012 and it has been fantastic. High quality TPU cases for a low price. I am probably going to get a Neo Hybrid case for the Note 3 just to change it up a bit. Might end up picking up a diztronic as well, we will see!

Is Gorilla Glass 3 more scratch resistant than previous versions?
And thanks OP for the review on the case. I had it in my Amazon wish list so I just moved it to my cart and checked out

You sure the oleophobic coating didn't fool you? Use a microfiber cloth to wipe it off.

Ouch sorry to hear that. I definitely keep my keys and phone in different pockets or ensure that my keys are always on the back side of the phone if they HAVE to be in the same pocket (not the case 99% of the time).

Yes, the 3rd generation of Gorilla Glass is the most resistant so far. They keep improving at every step.
You're welcome and congratulations on your purchase!!! You'll enjoy the enhanced grip with the added protection!

I've never had an issue pressing the buttons. In fact, the case sometimes makes it easier. The case is thinner where the buttons are, but add a little more thickness. You get a good press every time. I just took my S4 case off and snapped a pic of the thinner spot where the volume buttons are.
I'm not going to tell you not to buy the SPIGEN case either. Apparently a lot of people like it from the Note 2 and other devices and has a good reputation.
I'm just going by what I know. The Diztronic cases are very good for a minimalistic experience with good drop protection. They are no Otterbox though, not even close.
EDIT: Silly me...forgot the pic
I am ordering one of these for my Note 3 tonight. I have been using one on my S2 for almost 2 years and love it, I drop my phone a lot and it looks new.
Diztronic Rox
Just got my black diztronic case today. I have used them on my EVO 3D and EVO 4G LTE. Great light duty case. I'm just not the type that wants the phone to get too bulky but I don't want to run it naked so these work great!
I just purchased one hope I'll like it lol

I love the matte finish. The port cutouts are very accurate and the case fits nice and tight. It's definitely a keeper especially for the low price of $10. My only wish is that the "lip" of the case was also matte instead of shiny/polished.

Bodyguardz Pure

I'm probably not going to get alot of fans for this one due to the price but I can vouch for the quality of the Bodyguarz Pure tempered glass screen protector. I had one of these on my iPhone for over a year and it never lost its oleophobic coating, got one scratch or chipped.
I decided to go the cheap route on my G3 and purchased an i-Blason off Amazon. I installed it today was really disappointed. It chipped on the corner very easily and it was already a fingerprint magnet out of the box although it said it had multiple coatings. I pulled it off and headed down to the AT&T store and grabbed a Bodyguardz. Its $35 just like the Zagg or Spigen. It has a lifetime warranty. I have owned the Spigen and Zagg on other family members phones and each has their pros and cons. The Spigen is very nice but can be spotty on customer service. I have also had issues with all of the Spigens seating solidly around the edges. They always seem to have spots the adhesive is not good. The Zagg (on a Galaxy S4) seems to be good but lost its coating quickly as well. The Bodyguardz has the best oleo coating hands down. Its drawbacks are thickness (.4mm) and edges are not rounded. Still I can easily over look these things as the oleo coating is my #1 priority. Another thing I like is the Pure has a cutout for the earpiece which most of the cheaper ones do not protect the edge of the screen around the earpiece.
Anyway, for those heading into the AT&T store tomorrow check these out.
UPDATE: Many are experiencing touch sensitivity issues and have returned this shield. I also had the same issues.
I was a fan of the bodyguardz glass screen protector I had for my old note 2. I was sad when I couldn't find one from them for my g2.
Do they have ones for the g3 listed on their site?
Not sure if they are listed on the site. I just went in and picked one up at the store. If you are Premier, I would think they can be ordered though.
Do u find the accuracy and sensitivity are less with this protector? It seems that way to me. U are absolutely right about the oleophobic coating though. And marks that do appear, disappear on their own through coming in contact with fabric from my pocket

I took mine off. It definitely affected the screens sensitivity. I got sick of tapping the same icon 5 times before it would register. I wasted 35 dollars. I'm awaiting my nillkin screen protector. It's thinner and hopefully doesn't affect screen responsiveness. The oleophobic coating is great though.

Sorry I didn't come back to this thread and edit my original post. I also returned mine over this past weekend. I did love the coating but I too experienced some sensitivity issues. I didn't even read about them but got fed up and got my money back.
I decided to go with the iCarez off Amazon.

At $8.95 it is unbelievable. It has rounded edges and is almost an exact clone of the Zagg that costs $40. Even the installation method is exactly the same. It is thinner at .33mm and I haven;t noticed any touch sensitivity issues at all.

Its full screen but does not have the cutout for the earpiece, its just the cutaway. If you can, go to a Best Buy Store and ask to see a Zagg. Usually someone in their mobile dept will have one on their G3 or S5. That will give you an idea of the quality, thickness, etc. It is exactly the same. I'm guessing same plant in china makes them and Zagg just overcharges.

Is the screen look really smooth with no air bubbles?
Im looking for a tempered glass screen protector which tapers (or just going) around the screen at the edges.
I ordered one from ebay, but the top of the screen is not defended because the cut part. From the other hand, this is not going around at the edges...

LG G3 Screen Protector

Just got my G3 from Best Buy on Sunday and this phone is pretty impressive. I always like to get a screen protector as soon as the phone comes out of the box. I bought the Zagg Invisible Shield Tempered Glass screen protector and it is pretty awesome. Don't have to worry about the orange peel that is on their regular screen protectors and the clarity is really good. Check it out.

I also scratched my screen on the very first day. I am not sure how I scratched it but its there. So in a case of closing the barn after the horse ran off I bought a tempered glass screen protector from Amazon ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KGSW734/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) Price wise it was 9 dollars but I really liked and and best of all is that it has a life time replacement warranty.
Now about the actual glass its not too thick and though it does slightly protrude a bit you don't really notice unless your really looking for it. The shape is perfect and fits exactly as it should reaching the edges exactly.
Now for the scratch proof test, Since it did have a lifetime warranty I said screw it and took a knife to it. I really did try to scratch it and I wasn't successful. I thought those advertisement pics and videos were bull$hit but it really didn't scratch.
Anyway all in all I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice screen protector and doesn't like the feel of the thin film/ membrane type ones.
That's really cool. I picked up my glass protector yesterday. The brand is body guardz. Purchase price was $39.99+tax. No life time warranty, but if you register you can grab replacement at 20% discount.

Interesting product. I scoffed at the idea of paying $40 for a screen protector, I've lived through all my smartphones on cheap Ebay films. They get scratched up over time, but by the time I even think I should replace it, the phone is over a year old anyway. I've never applied more than 2 over the life of a phone, and the one on my EVO 4G LTE is the one I applied on launch day. Even so, for this price I'd go for the glass protector. That micro-ridge you'd get would be covered by a case anyway, too.

Possibly, I guess it all depends on how big the scratch and how deep it is. Doesn't hurt to try and protect it from more scratches.

I used to get Bodyguardz but they didn't have the anti-glare for the G3, then I found iCarez on Amazon. It has better quality than Bodyguardz and comes with three protectors. Best of all, the price was $4.95.
I am very particular with my phone. My phone is naked except for the screen. I used to use Zagg on my HTC EVO 4G and Galaxy Nexus, then switched to Bodyguardz for my Nexus 5, but when I realized they didn't make the anti-glare for the G3 I was lost. Amazon saved me. I am so happy I found iCarez. I have another set in the way for my wives new iPhone too.

If i kept my phones long enough i would pay for something like a zagg. Truth is i change phones a lot. Sometimes i dont even have everything come in that i order before i have traded or sold/bought another one. For this reason i usually get a 7-10$ ebay tempered glass protector. I love the glass ones. I cant see how paying an extra 25$ could make it that much better. The cheaper ones feel great imo. I dont think i can ever go back to a plastic screen protector now that i have used glass

5 months into using the Icarez and I have to say I still love it. No problems with it whatsoever and it still hasn't been scratched. What else can a person want from a screen protector?
@ScottPa74- no problem for the recommendation. THe first thing I do when i get a new device hel sometimes even before I get i come to XDA to check out whether its worth it and what should I get for it.
