Woke up, wireless wasn't working, turned off, now it won't turn back on - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

So this morning after watching several videos online last night, on my non-rooted nook, the wireless wasn't working.
When I would try and go into the B&N wireless settings screen, it would do nothing (go black) or say that wireless is stalled (do you want to wait or force close). So I forced close, hoping it would reboot automatically.
Well, I tried to turn off the device and the screen went black but the backlight stayed lit like it was supposed to be on for several minutes after I had powered down.
Eventually I got the blacklight off (it might have just gone off by itself), but now it won't turn back on.
The battery was at 30% when I tried to initially power it down.
I haven't tried the power and n button 30 second cycle, because I don't want to lose what I have on it. Any ideas of how to get it back on, without factory reset?

I can remember some other issues like this were reported. I believe one solution was to let it charge a few hours and attempt to power back up. Not sure if this will work for you, but give it a shot.

Plug in Charger (Might wake it up).
Connect USB to computer (Might wake it up).
Hold in power button 20 seconds to power off then power on.
The last option just worked for me for a black screen (Loop?) issue.

When that has happened to me (and it has), I held down the power button for about 30 seconds. Then let the unit sit for a couple minutes. Then held the power button down for about 5 seconds. Eventually, it always started back up.

30 second hold
The 30 second hold and wait worked well. Thanks.

Glad everything has worked out for ya!

Help! Galaxy Tab won't turn on!

I was watching a YouTube video, and my Tab just shut down. It did feel really hot on the back, now that I think about it.
But I've tried everything! Keeping it plugged into the wall, hold power for 30 seconds while touching screen, holding for 15 then for 7, Volume Up + Power, Volume Down + Power, and plugging it into the wall. Nothing's working.
I have a Metallic Grey 32GB with the latest TouchWiz Rom.
Please help.
i had the same - it seem to have restarted by having it plugged in the PC and then pressing Power + Volume up and volume down all at the same time ... strange though
I've had it for about 9 days and have used it every single day. Last night I downloaded 2 movies onto it and everything was fine. Today it would not power on one bit! I charged it over night so the battery shouldn't have drained. I ended up fixing my problem by doing the following:
Held the power button.
At the same time, placed a finger on the screen.
Held it down for 15 seconds or more and it booted up!
Not sure why it only worked when I put my finger on the screen.
I ended up exchanging it either way just in case.
i had a similar experience when it looked like the images on my screen was tarring and making really odd graphical errors, and then shut off... but i could see that the backlight was still on.. So i help power button untill backlight turned off.. and then plugged it into the charger and turned it on holding the power down button, which luckly got me into recovery.. i then reflashed the kernel, seems to have been a dodgy flash, but its working now..

Unable to boot up

I have no idea what caused this, but I can briefly explain the scenario..
After the .21 update, I found my Prime to be a little lag-gy (you know like when your desktop is on for quite a long time, you try to reboot), so I wanted to turn it off, then turn it on again. To my horror after I turned it off, I could not turn it on again. All I can is have this vibration that's supposed to occur at 3 seconds normally, at 12 seconds of holding down the power button.
After doing some research , others that have similar issues of unable to boot tried holding down the power button for 30 seconds.. 60 seconds.. and multiple times.. I've tried it, but nothing worked.
I tried the cold boot, holding VOL Down plus power button as well. No luck.
Lastly, tried the soft reset button. Tried it holding down with power button and pressing it separately. Still no luck.
I tried it with and without dock. Everything almost the same except when I
'close' the tablet with the dock.. holding the power button does not do anything, but when i 'opened' it, 3 seconds I will get the vibration, but nothing will be shown on the screen. Totally blank.
Anyone can help? I'm going to send for RMA at worse scenerio but I need help asap cause I need to use it later in the day. :/
EDIT: Oops forgot to include something else.
That was 3 days ago, I managed to get it working 2 nights ago, but after I went to sleep, and woke up. Heck, its off again. I have no idea how I got it working. All i know was, I brought it out, didn't use it, about after 8 hours I reach home, I sat on my chair thinking of sending it for repair and tried my last attempt to on it, it loaded perfectly. Then... this happened...
After I connected my tablet to the computer and try to turn it on, Windows detect APX. But the driver installation. Wonder if this information would be useful.
Again new information don't know whether this is useful or not, my volume up button was faulty about a week ago. Sometimes my volume just automatically goes up on its own, probably the button is spoilt that its permanently or most of the time held down. And after some Google-ing, volume up and power on apparently causes the tablet to go in this APX mode..

Hard Brick/Black Screen 5.0 [SOLVED]

My 5.0 is hard bricked. Black screen, won't charge, won't turn on. When plugged into outlet or computer, still black screen.
I rooted it back in December with no problems until today. Decided to plug it into an outlet to charge it since battery was around 50%. After about 30 minutes, used it to check weather, etc., then I did a quick push of the on/off switch to turn off the screen. About 2 minutes later, went to turn it on and got the black screen. I decided to leave it plugged into an outlet for about 1 hour and still nothing.
Looking at other, similar, bricked posts for the 5.0, doesn't seem applicable to this completely dead device (wasn't installing a rom or doing anything unusual).
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Solved
I was able to fix the problem, without losing any data, by going into recovery. For others who may run into similar issues, I did the following:
Pressed the power and volume up key simultaneously for about 10 seconds until the SAMSUNG logo appeared.
Selected 'reboot system now' and pressed the home button.

Prime Wont boot

So I have a standard vanilla prime except I rooted it to be able to hook up my six axis. Other than that it is as stock as you can get with OTA updates.
My problem is that last night it crashed on me and wouldn't turn on from the power button so I let it sit overnight figuring I'd deal with it the next day. And today it's not booting up. I have tried charging it, pressing and holding the power button for 10 and 60 second intervals, and holding the vol down button with the power button. Nothing is turning it on. Thanks for any help you can give.

SM-T560 charge/boot issue.

Hi,
I got hold of one of these tablets that appeared dead, left it charging overnight and it started without issue, the battery was at 67% at this point.
I then shut it down and held the Home + VolUp + Power to enter download mode as I wanted to install TWRP.
Nothing happened, but not only that, the tablet failed to boot again whatsoever. I took the back off and unplugged the battery, held the power button down for 30-40 seconds, reattached battery, still nothing, so I decided to leave it on charge for a bit more and try to figure it out later.
Later came along, and I picked up the tablet and for some reason pushed the home button 3 times and it displayed the battery icon, showing 100%, great!
It still won't boot though and I haven;t been able to reproduce whatever I did to get it to show the battery icon again.
I've tried every combination of holding down Home/VolUp/VolDown and Power that I can think of for different amounts of time and still nothing.
Had it plugged into the computer too and monitored dmesg for any signs of life and still nothing.
I'm thinking (but hoping not) that it might be a physical problem with the power button, but it feels fine when pressed.
Is there some magic trick that I don't know about that could help here?
Many thanks.,
g
EDIT: I have left it plugged in for a few hours and periodically the battery icon appears for a while (now at 99%), then disappears. Tried to switch it on with the power button while the icon is on the screen but no go, same with different button combos.
