Really wanted to pick up this phone today. Been waiting for it since i broke my Infuse 4G about a month ago. Went to Wal-Mart, they didn't have it. Went to AT&T store they didn't have it and said they have to order it. Called another AT&T and they said Northern California store won't be getting it. What's the deal? Does iPhone 5 have anything to do with it?
i'm in the Monterey area.

There are 3 markets in the US not getting the GS II. Your market must be one of them. I think NC or SC might be the other and some place in Texas. I will look for the official info.

thats what the att rep told me also, i had the sprint samsung galaxy s2 version and returned it today so i can get the gsm galaxy s2 version from at&t today. Kinda sucks when every other place not bayarea related gets the phone and we dont. Im gonna wait for the Nexus prime instead. f-u at&t.
yea, i went to the store today too, im in modesto, they said it's because of the lawsuit that apple has against samsung. thats why they are not carrying them.

Can't have anything HOT in a corporate store that might smirk the iphone can they? LOL...makes me still wonder, conspiracy wise if at&t delayed the s2 to as close as the iphone 5, to keep the drones on board. Why would they get a superior phone, when they can get another looks/works like the old iphone?

Yes, apparently San Antonio, Austin, and Houston areas do not have it.
I was at Target last night and they had a non-functional display unit there, so I'm guessing they'd also have stock there. I'm in the bay area, north cal, too.
Can't wait until I can upgrade!
I got screwed over by this too. I waited until opening at the corporate store and they said "sorry, we didn't receive any". Great. On the launch day.
Luckily best buy had 4 in stock and I got the last one.
I also picked up the GSII yesterday Saturday. Asked if they had the GSII, sales guy said yes, so picked it up. Great device. Its the best phone I have used. Now I see why Apple is really worried that the SGII will be a better device.

The local BB here had no display model, finally a blue shirt asked what I was looking for, told her she didn't have it, but said she thought she had a non working display model "behind the counter". Way to hide a NEW RELEASE.

I got the last of only 5 today at BB in Simi Valley, CA. and it just so happened that the region Samsung Dealer was there when I was there. And he confirmed that the ATT stores in this area and several others would not be getting the SGSII because...He could not say the reason but did drop the "Assumption" that it was because of a certain brand of phone exclusive...What a Joke, but that is what happens when you sign into exclusive deals. Oh well I was not planning on getting this today but the opportunity was there and I traded in my Infuse (of only a month and a half)and now I am a (Happy) SGSII user. Now the Fun begins!
Yeah, definitely something weird. I talked to a mobile services rep at Target tonight (he says they're getting them in stock @ Target this week) and he mentioned that "something happened" in regards to why the AT&T stores are not carrying them around here. Which is strange, because why just NorCal, and not SoCal?

How frustrating... Im going to pick one up in San Diego on a business trip in a few days. I hope they still have some stock by then.
when i went into the corp stores yesterday their reasoning was "it was illegal to sell this phone in california". after some searching on the internets it seems the rumor is apple has some sort of lawsuit with samsung and therefore at&t is not selling the gs2 in stores. who wants to guess that itll be lifted once the iphone5 is out?
Got mine yesterday at the att store in Oceanside. They wouldn't tell me how many they started with, but there was only one left at 5:30. So far, it is amazing. Turned off my old GS. Trying to see how long I can go without rooting...

I live in the Orlando FL area.
Today went to pre order the phone and they could not find it in their system, chatted on line with ATT rep, it was on line available but try as they might, the store guys couldn't find it....how odd.
Well I got a 50.00 discount on my phone bill as a result. They were very embarrasssed.
I understood their confusion but I am still shaking my head. Came home and didn't get it, still trying to work thru the whole experience.

So I went in, and they couldnt find it in their system. They had me talk to two different people at ATT customer support, and they said you can only preorder online. Which I cant do because my contract cant get waived online.
So have to wait untill the 19th, and get it in store. Or they said if I call on the 19th, they will ship it out with next day shipping for free.
Have them look it up by sku when they direct fulfill your phone upgrade or new line. It doesn't show up in the master list for some reason but it is searchable by the sku number.

When they had me call in they told me to do this. Still said it will be available on the 19th. Pre order is online only.

Not true about the online only, if you pre-order online or in a store it will ship to your house on the 17th, 2 days before launch.

I know it's like an hour drive (depending on traffic on I-4 of course) from Orlando, but I can tell you the Best Buy in Daytona Beach is taking pre-orders. I pre-ordered mine yesterday. Maybe try the Best Buy at The Mall at Millennia.

it only shows up in the upgrade flow btw... and instead of scanning sim and imei choose search for DF devices then type in sku. you can't get it on the main df screen like you could with iphones.

I tried doing this, but the submit button was grayed out. Customer care told me I can't preorder it since my contract expires on the 29th.
I will bring in the SKU number for the white one with me this time.
I am in the SF Bay Area, CA btw.

That because in I wanna say September if I remember correctly at&t switched all upgrades to same month upgrades for our customers... so if it is lets say Feb 22nd for your upgrade date, you can really do it anytime in that month of February. They also switched them from the old 21 month upgrade date to 20 months instead.

no problem... i went in to upgrade my line yesterday on my day off with my manager and it wasn't showing up so I was like I'm not leaving until this is preordered lol... I had him try it that way with the sku and it came right up and was good to go as I have seen that issue in the past with a different smartphone launch.

Hello all,
I just got back from the local AT&T store (Vancouver, WA. Actual branch) and they had no idea about the HOX+, let alone any in stock. When I told the lady that it was released today, she looked in her iPad and found no release date. Then she did a horrible Google search and found a blog post from Oct 2 that didn't have any definitive dates. I just checked the actual AT&T site and it is there, ready for purchase. I also called a Best Buy in Portland, OR and they had no idea either. When they put out a press release launching a product, is that subject to regional rollout? I'm pretty sure when they released the GS3 or iPhone, they had them in stock.
Pretty frustrating overall.
Who has been able to buy them from AT&T here in the states?

Interesting. Which store was it exactly? I called the Best Buy Mobile store at Clackamas Town Center and they had no idea. I'd prefer to buy it at Best Buy if I could (better return policy/price matching), but would settle for something in Portland (no sales tax).

I got mine today in Denton Texas, they had only two deliverd.
My local ATT in Baltimore had no idea what the phone was... But they did try to talk me into the iPhone 5 so at least I got a good laugh. Probably try Bestbuy this weekend.

Got mine today at a AT&T company store in Bakersfield, CA. The salesperson that greeted me did not think it was out but the manager overheard and said they had just arrived this afternoon and directed us to the display model he had just set up. Looked at the LG Optimus G and the Sony TL (James Bond phone) but the One X+ was the one for me.
i went in about a month ago after it was announced and the sales rep at the att store stated they wouldn't get one until next year. I went in on tuesday once online preorders went up and they were all clueless.I just pre-ordered it online and got it today. I was only charged 199 with no tax si i was excited about that.
I walking into a corporate store to ask, but I had to convince the sales guy to look it up on AT&T's own web site to prove it was real. I may try another store tomorrow.
Picked up the last one last night here outside Harrisburg PA. Well...don't have it yet (long story) but they put it aside for me and I'm going to go pick it up now!
I stopped and picked mine up this morning no issues.

Slow Roll Out
Appears to be rolling out slowly. I talked to a guy at one store in Rochester, NY area and they only got a display unit. I went to another store in the mall and they had several. Both of these were corporate stores and not authorized dealers.
It is certainly no iPhone launch! At the mall location they did not even have the display unit out. I had to wait for them to get it out and open it up to see. I am sure I was the first to buy at this store.
I tried asking this in the T-mobile thread on one general but it was definitely crowded out by people who were (justifiably) excited about their devices shipping.
I just prefer to do number ports in person versus the shipping and call back method, so I held out to get it in person. I live in northern Massachusetts and have called nearly every store nearby searching for availability but nobody seems to know anything about the device.
Has anyone come across a list of which stores will actually have the phone tomorrow?

This is almost certainly not true. Anyone reading this should definitely call their store to confirm, the vast majority haven't even heard of this phone, let alone got in shipments.
In Chesapeake, VA the Greenbrier Pkwy store will have them in on May 1st, but the Military Hwy store in Norfolk, VA will have them available tomorrow morning. I didnt call anywhere else, sorry :[

All I know is they are over -150 orders in and they are just waiting for them to start showing up. If you cut it close get the silver and just trade it before the 14 days. I am hopeful that it will be either tomorrow or early next week.
I have not heard from a single person who has got it...
I've seen it in store as a demo and was offered one today but ended up buying the silver. I'm in Atlanta for your reference.

Make sure you call before you go. I had three stores tell me the silver was in stock when the HTC one was released when in fact it wasn't.

probably but I'm sure you probably can try to argue that it was suppose to be out the 19th and you had to get the rebate just to see what they said. I just talked to AT&T and it may be better news she said that the preorders and now at -144 so either they started shipping some or people canceled the orders.
I guess I'll call some Best Buys today then... I bet they'd even price match Walmart's $150. I'll also try calling a few corporate stores again today, though I'm sure they're tired of people calling.

I was at best buys yesterday and almost purchased a silver one. They approved the price match with walmart without hesitation. Decided to hold off and wait for the black but it's getting really difficult.

probably but I'm sure you probably can try to argue that it was suppose to be out the 19th and you had to get the rebate just to see what they said. I just talked to AT&T and it may be better news she said that the preorders and now at -144 so either they started shipping some or people canceled the orders.

I actually got my silver on the 18th, but no rebate, just the media link streamer. I'm not sure it is worth the extra $35.

Just called them. They do not have the black in stock as I suspected. I doubt there are any black units in stores currently since the AT&T preorders haven't even shipped.

Unless they actually checked the availability right in front of you there's reason to believe them. I've been misled several times already.
I don't follow market trends or tactics but if I had to make a guess. You will see the black show up on the S4 release date.
Additionally, I'm surprised BB matched Wal-Mart. The price match doesn't include wireless phones. At least that is what their policy states.

my BBY said they stopped that practice. And I was trying so hard to wait to see if my Radio Shack was getting it so i could do the $50 Play store card. but they have no info on it. So I called ATT chewed them out and got the silver one for $150 free overnight and no activation fee. Im currently siting by the door lol im so impatient couldn't wait any longer:laugh:
