wow. really tempted to get this over the international version at this price.

Does this deal work with "Add a Line to My FamilyTalk Plan" ???
When I click this is still says $299 price =/
Does it FINALLY adjust the price once you put in your social security # for the credit check as part of your checkout? Or does it do it earlier in the transaction?

I was having the same problem. I talked to a chat rep and they said I could place an order for new line and then have them combine it to the family account.
Senedra: If you like, you can order the phone with a new plan and combine the line later to the account. What phone are you interested in ordering?
Me: Samsung galaxy Note
Me: Is that possible?
Senedra: Yes, the Samsung Note is $299 with the 2yr contract which is the discounted cost for the phone.
Me: Understood
Me: So if I place an order for a new line, how do I combine the line to my other account?
Me: I have a family plan with 2 lines already
Senedra: Once you call to activate the phone, you can then combine the line then to the account.
Senedra: For now, you can choose the 450 minute plan to checkout with the phone today.

This would be nice but I have one line and only want one(no need for two) but I'm due for an upgrade

It will work if you choose *new to AT&T and not add a line.

That sounds fishy but if it was true and you can do that .. damn .. i just made a big mistake

How can you buy this unlocked and out of contract? It makes you pick a data plan.

Thanks OP! You just saved me $200 over the two notes and new plan I bought from Amazon yesterday....they couldn't even ship with in 24 hours...

I have tried add line to family plan and add line to my account. Neither has worked
I attempted New to AT&T and the $149 price comes up.
I placed order, but have reservations if this will work.

I just tried to get an early upgrade due to mine will be next month and I used a promo code and dropped the checkout price to $197 and AT&T screwed me and said they wouldn't give me the upgrade!!

Is this phone worth the $549.99 price?

Seems they wont give me an early upgrade, so for all of you sgs2 owners is this phone worth that price? I was totally in for $199, and still might be for $549 if its worth it. I've paid more for less.
I just want to hear different opinions from owners here.
Yes it is.. The Best android phone ever... got it three days ago n lovin it...
$520 at Walmart. Plus, you can get unlock code from AT&T while contract customers have to wait until next summer.
Worth or not is very personal thing. It's up to you.

But the one at walmart is an at&t samsung galaxy s2? You can then call at&t and ask for an unlock code and they'll give it to you? Not that I need it unless I take it overseas I guess.
It was definitely worth it to me. But, I have no qualms about spending money on gadgets.
Depends on where you're coming from.
From the Infuse - it's borderline. However I'm leaning towards keeping the S2. I may or may not sell the Infuse depending on a number of factors.

I had no problem getting an early upgrade. Had my Galaxy for a little less than a year, and got the $199 upgrade Sunday. Of course, it might be because I have 4 smartphones (mine and three IPhone 4s) on my plan. It is the greatest phone I have ever seen! Quick and shiny.......

I talked to some customer rep on the phone, maybe thats why. They have me as renewing my contract since January when it was actually November 2010, they messed up and acknowledged it so they waived my cancellation fee. I called them up and explained all this and verified and still didnt want to give me an early upgrade. Wonder if the sales rep at the store could do better for me.

It is not about how many lines you have. It is related on how much you pay for monthly on your line. If you paid over $100/month for your line, you get earlier upgrade than others.
That and AT&T recently moved everyone's upgrade date a few months ahead.

Since I have a family plan with a total of four lines, unlimited data on my line, family unlimited texting, the charge for my line is over $100. I didn't know that made a difference, but wondered why they were giving me an early upgrade.

Other lines don't count. Only the services you paid for your own line counts. If you have services on your line valued over $100, you get yearly upgrade IIRC.

Come on, is the Galaxy S II really worth it coming from the Galaxy S (Captivate)? I mean the Captivate is Miui dev supported. The Galaxy S II has an unoffical port which made me walk out the ATT store empty handed.
Things might change in a few months, given that the Galaxy S II could be as popular as the first Galaxy S phone. Then the Miui devs will support the device.

They just discontinued this a few months ago.. and it was not based on total pricing of service. It is based off of the MRC of your rate plan. ($59.99+)
Everyone is now on the 20-month upgrade cycle. If you are the primary line and didn't use your yearly upgrade yet, then that would be your last one. then you'll be on the new upgrade cycle.
be careful if you're still on this old cycle and you have your 1 year upgrade coming soon. if you lower your MRC, your upgrade date becomes laaaater

If have captivate and sgs2 and the difference in response to app and other things is like night and day. Don't get me wrong. I love my captivate, but I love my sgs2 even more. You need to use it then you'll know what I or other are in love with this phone. Just remember, anytime a new phone is launched, no matter it has the best specs in the world, it becomes obsolete.

Upgrade. When the preorder page went live there was no way to perform an upgrade. After about an hour, they added the Note into the selection phones you can use for an upgrade. I was worried they weren't going to allow upgraders to preorder, but I was wrong.

I just tried upgrading a line that was eligible, but the price is coming out to $399 and I can't seem to get the $100 dollars off to make it $299.

The price of the phone is $399 but there is a "$100 discount". Are you encountering this price at the time you have to pay? I think maybe the discount won't be visible in your cart until you are actually ready to pay. You have to select the Note as your phone, then click "Add a Plan" and select the appropriate data plan.

Well just pre-ordered mine from AT&T online.
I am only 7 months into my current contract (Samsung Infuse 4G) but my Note upgrade cost is $299.00 + $18 onetime fee / 2yr contract extension. Plus I'll ebay my Infuse in a few weeks so that'll help lower the cost.
I tried BestBuy but it wouldn't allow the upgrade pricing. Oh well...no free case.
HOPE I don't regret this...but I don't think I will...the Infuse (4.5") has kinda gotten me used to larger smartphones.

HOW HOW HOW ?????? You shouldnt be able to do that. I cant!!!
Pre-ordered Carbon Blue shortly after midnight using via AT&T Premier with my employers discount for monthly service. Ordered new line with "voice-restricted data-only" at $36/mo after 20% employer discount (currently I'm Sprint w EVO 4G). Was not eligible for $100 discount due to no voice-plan. Price was $375 - $25 employer discount + $21 state sales tax = $371.
And, yeah, this data-only plan (which claims "unlimited data") does not seem to be available to the general public, it's somehow tied tied to my employer-discount negotiated plans. Will be trying to use VOIP to handle the very low number of calls I make each month, but that's the topic for another forum.

The Premier website is freakin' annoying. They're listing the thing at $399 then forcing you to get a rebate. I thought Premier customers were supposed to get preferential treatment!
EDIT: Oops, looks like the discount is applied automatically when you check out. Still, it's annoying -- like they're trying to make you think you're getting a better deal than you are.

$399.99 Early Upgrade for AT&T Premier Accounts.

PSA: Just got off the phone with ATT, my curiosity was piqued by the thread stating the website was allowing contract upgrade pricing for non-eligible lines. My line is not eligible for upgrade until 1/2013, and the Business Premier website shows off-contract/no-commitment pricing of $649.99. BUT, on the phone they said I could upgrade for $399.99 + $18 activation.
Personal Side Note: I currently have a white skyrocket, and my primary complaint is the "mura" effect and the weak DPI (LCD density mods only mask the issue). I have big hands that make the skyrocket look regular sized, I already have a SGP case picked out... but other than the screen, it is the same phone and still no Skyrocket HD or SG3 release date. Tempted to buy it just to try them out side by side, then sell the skyrocket or return the Note - no skin off my back. Thoughts?
Sounds like a good plan. I am holding out though. (Technically I did compare them side by side tho) I have faith in my Samsung guy telling me the s3 will be out in midsummer ...which lines up with out next available upgrade.

Business care reps offer special pricing at times.
In a store as long as you have had your current phone at least 6 months and haven't had any upgrades overridden in the last year then you are eligible for in store early upgrade pricing which is discounted cost of phone + $250 so it would be $550 in store early upgrade vs $650. You still save $100.
Website shows $649.99 for me as well. I called 611 and spoke with a CSR and told them I was interested in the pre-ordering the Note. I was then offered the $399.99 early upgrade price (still requires new 2 year commitment). YMMV of course, but when I asked if I could call back and get the same deal - he said yes. Again my actual upgrade eligibility is 1/2013.

Here is exactly what I did: I dialed 611 --> entered phone # --> selected #3 for sales and upgrades --> was connected to AT&T Business Solutions Customer Care (1-800-331-0500) --> told them that I was reading about special pricing for the Note's release and that I was interested in upgrading my line -->> CSR said he could offer me $399.99 + $18 + 2yr commitment --> I asked him if I could call him back and get the same deal --> CSR said, "it's available in the system so whoever you call back will have access to the pricing."
I'd try calling the 1800 directly, or try 611 again. Some CSRs are more knowledgeable then others on what is available

I have a corporate discount account, which seems like a type of employee discount program - but it is not called EMO. I called them up this morning and that is what I was told by a CSR. When there is a deal out there I am usually able to talk to ATT and get something worked out - they've been very helpful. If a second CSR won't give the offer, then it could be something more than premier account that gave me the early upgrade price.
Yea unforuntaly they wont help they said its a new process where they cant help they just send me to premier, and premier just looks at the account and does what it says.

Called again today to look into this further and this time to CSR told me again that they are able to offer $399.99 over the phone - then pushed me over to the Premier phone system. Unfortunately they are closed atm, I'll try again tomorrow and see what they say. From what I understand, a Premier CSR will walk you through the process to get the pricing on the website... but again, that is just my speculation until I actually get one of them on the phone.

This thread saved me $250!
I am so glad I read this. By calling 611 Premier Sales I got a the early upgrade price of $399 which I could not get via Premier online! This thread saved me $205! Thanks you!
I have EMO too. My upgrade is not due until 5/18/2012. But 611 Premier Sales ordered it for me for $444.99. Its not $399 but better than the $649.99 No commitment price.
I called 611 and and this lady didn't help me with ****. Next upgrade isn't until June. She gave me the number for premier.
I'll call that later it's pretty annoying how these claims aren't as simple as they are written out to be.
Yeah yeah all I did was call and this and that.. Crock

I was also able to order it for the $444.99, however, from what I was told is that the $444.99 is a non commitment price where the $399 is a 2 year commitment price.

As an update, after a bit a run around between Business Care and Premier, I got a price adjust and got it for $300 w/2 yr contract - but I could not upgrade a line which had been upgraded in November 2011, which they stated would immediately get flagged. My other line was upgraded in June 2011, and it looks like it will ship today.
Also, what is this 50% off accessories for Premier accounts I keep reading about? On Sunday? I can't find any documentation.

AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note for $249.99 at Amazon Wireless

Awesome!
Seems like the deal is available to new lines and to those upgrading only.
It's $299 for those of us that are part of family accounts or that are adding a new line! :C

There is still the $100 discount for adding a line HERE
That's what I used, added a line, got it for $199.
Try this link. It's %50 off for new customers and adding a line. I could be able to order 2 Notes for $319. After that they cancelled my order for some reason. I tried again and got cancelled one more time. I called customer service many times about this price. Finally they told me they will give me credit for my monthly bill payments for $299 and told me to order from store instead.
So will the price still be the same as Best Buy's $50 off?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, not so familiar with how Amazon Wireless handle this.

I got sick of waiting for amazon to post their prices, though, which is why is just decided to preorder. I was in the unlucky USPS crowd and got a $50 credit for my one day delay. Im happy with $250.

Big Dogg Infuse I997 ZeusB5 ICS!
I went to AT&T to look at the phone on Friday, so they brought one out from the back room. Seems like I'm not eligible to upgrade until May 25th, but they will ALLOW me upgrade for a small extra charge of only $250, for a total of $550!!
I can buy an unlocked model for that price.

$540 at AT&T today

I went back to AT&T and got mine today. Was expecting it to be $575 like website, but was $540 instead. They must have matched Verizon's deal. Glad I could not get website to work last night!
What a glorious machine!!!

Something else interesting on the AT&T vs. Verizon question: Straight Talk now supports AT&T LTE for $45/mo.
My G2 was $540 on release day, as were some others that I've read about.
It supposedly has to do with the difference between the AT&T Next price and the Full Retail price, with the former needing to be price-adjusted by the rep, but most reps don't realize they need to or have to.
My reps never understand why I want to buy phones at full retail (I've bought like 5 or so in the last 6 months). It must not be common?

This.
Multiply the "Next" price by 20 and thats what you pay + tax for any phone in the store.
in this case its 27x20=540 + tax. The listed retail price is meaningless.
Whats really interesting is the new iPhone 5c is listed as $20 on Next pricing which would effectively mean it will only be $400 brand new, but their listed retail is like $549

The Verizon deal only works on contract. If i could pick up the G2 from Verizon off-contract for $540 before taxes, I'd go get it right now.

Holy crap. If I can get a 5C for $400, I would totally do it just to have another smartphone.
I have a problem
I bought mine on launch day and the display said $579 no contract price, but I was charged $540 (before tax). I thought it was odd, but wasn't about to complain. This phone is a steal at that price.
It was $540 in stores when I picked it up on Friday. So glad I didn't order online for that 575 it's showing. I'm in Dallas too.

I went into my AT&T store to buy it, but they would only sell it for $575, not $540. I asked them about the $540 price and price matching, etc. No go. Didn't buy!

I would have still paid $575 for this phone. It's that awesome. But I'd like to know why there are inconsistencies with the price. Even the display in the AT&T store shows $575.

I tried to get the $540 price and failed as well. I said "my friend got it for $540" (since you guys are all my friends ) but he said that is the NEXT pricing and I had to pay the $579. Oh well - I still think that's a great price for a device of this caliber and I am a happy owner.

Yeah, it's still a great value, especially when you stack it up against the Note 3, iPhone 5s, and GS4. You get a lot of phone for the money.

I'm surprized more people don't do the buy on contract and just pay the ETF. I mean $199+$325 is only $525. Plus it looks like you only pay tax on the $199. Or maybe I'm missing something.

I thought about that too, but wanted to save my upgrade for whatever comes next. Also, it depends on which state you live in. In the lovely people's republic of California, we have to pay tax on the retail price regardless.

I just got upgraded to HTC One 3 months ago. So what will be the price in the store if i want to buy this at full price $540 or $579 ?
Also could you guys give the exact address of the store that sold it for $540 in Dallas.
