Powerskin Case - HTC Amaze 4G

Hey everyone,
I recently purchased my HTC Amaze and love it. I'm new to the rooting and flashing scene but having fun getting to see what I can do.
I've been looking at all the different cases and keep debating on the kraken and the powerskin. Wondering if a battery case is worth more than just buying an extra battery.
Has anyone tried a Powerskin case? If so, how was it? I looked at the Powerskin threads in other forums but want to see if there is anything specific with the HTC amaze.
Is the powerskin a good idea? bad?
Thanks!

I haven't tried the powerskin. But I did do some reading and most of the feedback was negative. Makes phone really bulky, had problems charging, pack heating up, difficulty of plugging in the micro to the phone...
The design wasn't for the amaze. It was made for a different phone but works on the amaze. Look at the back piece it has a long opening for the camera..
I went with an Anker 1900mah that came with a charger. My stock battery can last upto 16hrs but with heavy use it doesn't last too long. Anker for a backup to get through the rest of the day.

Thanks for the advice! I'm glad someone outbid me on ebay.
And I'm glad you pointed out that it doesn't really fit on the htc but it just happens to.

I tried this for the mt4g and it was awful. It was awkward to put on and it made the phone very bulky. I would recommend the D3O case from tmo or a soft gel skin. I've always used those and have always been satisfied

Biggest Battery Capacity in Stock Size?

I'm wonder if there is any batteries out there that you have seen from a brand you trust that use the stock diamentions as the stock battery, eg doesn't require extended back casing, only one I know of is the Seidio's 1400mAh, is there anything higher? Better brand, better price?
the only ones i've seen bigger have the extended batteries. they go up to 2600mAh.
buy one. believe me. its worth the big back/ugly bump.
function>aesthetics anyday(at least for me)
I already have one 2600mAh from Seidio, I do enjoy the extra grip when qwerty typing but I don't enjoy it in my pocket. Thus the reason I'm asking, rather get 2 x 1400mAh batts and shove one in my wallet if you know what I mean
i feel the exact opposite. i dont mind it as much when im not using it. when im holding it i cant stand it. but i do like the fact i dont have to keep a charger handy all the time. i know theres a couple normal size batteries around that SAY there 1600mAh and up but there kind of shaky to me. no brand name, barely even a name at all half the time. i wont trust anything besides seidio for extended life, i have a seidio 3400mAh i think in my tilt and its EPIC.

The results will suprise you...
so it seems like it may not be entirely beneficial to get the 1600(or 1700) mah battery?
Keep in mind that only HTC original batteries have the finest "part" in switching into tickle charge mode (the moment when the battery gets full and quits charging)
2600 mAh battery on G1
Hey guys, so I purchased a 2600 mAh battery for my G1. I LOVE it! My G1 stays on for days! Despite having the extended back on the phone I think it was well worth it.I got it on EBay for pretty darn cheap too. Anyways...I don't have any screen shots of it as of right now but I'll try to get some up. My phone does look like a brick but the battery life is improved so much! Look them up on EBay if you would like to buy one, anywhere else is probably a rip off. Anyways...just thought I'd give my two cents. Take it easy guys! TTYL!
I really want the Seidio 2600 but I've gotten attached to my hard case, it has the hinged feet, and I'm not sure that 1400 would be worth the cash for the amount gained IMO... If Seidio made a hard case with the feet on the back it would be perfect.
Just bought a seidio 2600, 51 shipped from amazon. It's a little high compaired to the 2300 for like 30 or so from ebay, but I think it's worth it for a good branded 3rd party accessory.

people have been talking about a 1600mah battery made by Andida, a Hong Kong-based company. from what it seems, they make quality batteries and some people at XDA have them. it fits into the regular G1 back... it's on ebay: obo_hk or something. $10. otherwise yeah the 2600mah seidio's are best. i just bought the seidio or would switch to the Andida. maybe my dad will let me do a return since the Seidio was bought on Amazon
The stock G1 feels nice in the hand, but it lacks that "You can beat a man to death with it" charm...

PowerSkin experience with DX2?

Hello! Has anyone gotten the Droid X/ X2 PowerSkin case for their X2? I was curious how well it worked.
Thanks in advance!

I haven't tried the power skin, but I know the Seidio Active case for the DX works perfectly. It has two layers, one rubber, and then a hard shell that goes around it. But it's pretty skinny, they also have a skinnier one layer hard shell that works for it too. They both keep the shape of the phone and both protect it really well! They are also rather cheap on the price! Around $30!

Thanks - I have used those and I like them. But this is a type of case with a built in battery. Here's from their web site:
http://www.power-skin.com/battery-cases/ap1503mdx/motorola-droidx-powerskin.html
They're pricey and I was curious to get anyone's input on how good they are before I took the plunge on one myself.
Oh sh*t! That's awesome!
I want one of those!!!

wish i would of saw this before tonight i just bought a extended battery and otterbox case(which i love otterbox). but this is really cool. if i dont like my extended battery ill have to give this a shot if you guys review it well.
Here is great thread for you DX2 user wonder to get a powerskin. I have one and have no complaints. It works just like what I suppose to do. Once in a while my phone gets hot in a charge/discharge. This is because the phone is charging and the skin is discharging and when the skin discharges it produces heat. So just don't use it heavily or it will bring the phone to over heating. I have provided a great link from the Evo forums to help DX2 owners if you want to get a PowerSkin. If your are interested just click the link below to here about other Evo users opinions.

Thanks for posting that. After reading all that hate and then reading similar hate on Amazon, I definitely will not be picking this up. Such a shame as it seems like a really good idea.

HTC Offical Kickstand Case Discontinued?

So has this case been discontinued/never mad haha?
Mobilecityonline and htcpedia no longer list the device. I received an email from mobilecityonline that the shipping date had changed, but the new ETA was simply a blank.
It is unfortunate if this is the case, I was looking forward to this case.
ye,i got a email from mobilecity also, when i went the there site it stated the case was discontinued.this sucks since we never got a chance to use the case.
that sucks, cause that was the case I was looking into getting
Yep, I bought a tpu case (which is a great case btw) to hold me off tell then.
I guess I will wait a little bit and see what comes out.
I'm MAD...
Like damn, the one accessory I wanted the very day I bought the phone.

Have only seen that one in purple (a very feminine purple )
I would agree, trying to locate a black or a more "male" color
yeah I would be pretty mad if the HTC case is really not coming out. The body glove case does look cool as well but how would they not make it in black?

That case isn't really that great since it doesn't protect the bottom of the phone.....
Man I really wanted this case why would they not make this?!?!
I hope it isn't really discontinued. I had the EVO then went to the Thunderbolt to now the 3D and after being spoiled with kickstands, I need this case.
the Best buy platinum series case w/ kickstand is a good alternative.

And if u know sumone who works at best buy the discount is insane cus its a best buy accessory. kickstand one was like $13 an the other one was $15
htcpedia was quick to charge me for the case when I preordered...if it isnt going to be produced I hope they are just as fast returning my money.
Wow, that really sucks!! The HTC case is the sexiest 3D case I've seen yet..... Please make the case HTC!!

has anybody emailed htc about this and asked? Because if not, I'm sending one now, its the only case that looks good to me.

Let us know what they say, please.
It was probably due to the charging port location everyone was already complaining about it
I also emailed HTC about this.

Extended Battery Case??

I got a mugen extended battery for x-mas and was wondering if anyone knew of a case for the extended fit? I've looked all over but unable to find one. Thanks
I have been looking for one, for weeks now, Ebay, Amazon sor far nobody carry them. Even if is a TDP one. I just cannot carry the phone naked.
Well it looks like noone is even reading or sayin anything about a case for this phone with the extended battery.

I'm looking at the mugen extended battery. How is it working out for you? Pro's.. Con's?
Tks
It works great but I went back to the stock battery. I was bangin up my phone to much without a case.
Have you considered getting a silicone case?
Just do a quick google search/
May be worth looking at and it should stretch over the battery.
X batt case.
Have you looked at Seido cases? My understanding is tht they make a case tht works with their xtended batt and cover. Hope this helps.
I just ordered an extended battery. Am going to attempt to mod my otter box so it fits. I will post pics when I get the battery and nod done with a how to.

Link? Would love to see it!
I'm sorry It's a leather pouch you wear on your belt. Not a wrap around the phone type of case. My bad.
This would be the holy grail of photon accessories. Just performed a painstaking search of amazon and the seidio site (I saw that they sometimes make compatible cases), unfortunately, came up with nothing.
There's another thread about extended batteries where one of the people is going to attempt to modify his Otterbox Defender, and give instructions on how to do the same. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23379692&postcount=12
Here's hoping someone addresses the need for extended batteries sans naked phone.
Modded Holster
Don't know if this helps the predicament, but if you just try to add a few more millimeters on each side of the holster that's being sold at the sprint store (i did this with foam stickers) your phone will slide right in and stay snug. Not exactly a case, but i found that i haven't yet dropped my phone by using a holster. (fingers crossed)

What's a a good Bumper/ext battery combo for the I777?

Hey xda champs,
So I've got the gt-Max extended battery, a case mate case, and an unrelated otter box for my samsung galaxy s 2 I777. I'm looking for something new. I've seen a few Aluminum bumpers and extended batteries and I was wondering what you guys think are the best bumpers/extended batteries for the price. I'm looking to blow around 100$ for the two individual items but lower if possible. This is because I am a broke college student. With all the apps I'm constantly running with this ROM (Phone Bricker 2.7) I enjoy the extra battery life that a massive battery provides. However, the gt max has a P.O.S. back cover and I'd like something a little higher-quality. If you guys and gals have any opinions on what cases/batteries are exceptional above the rest (within the price range) I'd love to here some experienced feedback on the matter. Thanks for your help and stay awesome.
Sincerely,
A broke college student
Yes I would love to get a ext. battery and have a decent case. Something that will actually protect it haha.

I've had a Seidio extended battery for about a year and it's still going strong. The replacement battery back is a bit unwieldy to get snapped on, but once it's on its locked in tight. I haven't found a phone case that fits around it, but after being case-less for a while I just found I didn't really need one.
