[Q] Good Battery Cradle - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I'm looking for a good battery cradle for my second (OEM) battery. I found this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-Seat-wa...ccessories&hash=item3f0e0cd458#ht_2318wt_1396
I had a near identical one for my Captivate. It charged batteries well, but the USB output really messed with the screen sensitivity. Made it freak out and do things when I didn't even touch the screen. Anyone have a good cradle?
Also are i9100 cradles compatible with our i777 NFC batteries?

The batteries themselves are physically interchangeable, and since the cradle cannot bootloop I'd say yes. I have an extended non-oem battery, which I'm about to buy a i9100 cradle for, and you guys will be the first to know if any problems arise.

There is also the 'official' cradle from Samsung for the i777:

I just bought that one (it showed up Friday), and it's working well so far. The fact that it doubles as a stand is nice.

Still can't charge a spare battery. Wonder why they aren't making one that can charge a spare battery espcially when battery power is such an issue with this phone!
Still no spare battery charger:

Anyone have any experience with this or the vertical one? Pros, cons?
Paul
Vertical cradle
I just purchased a vertical cradle from an outfit in the UK (Hamill Dist.) but haven't received it yet. I based my decision on a favorable report from HTC Wizard Web (http://www.htcwizardweb.net/node/510). The Ebay unit looks identical, and I figured it wasn't rocket science and basically a plastic holder with USB connector at the bottom.
I'll report back when I receive it and test it out.

I bought
the boxwave vertical cradle and have been using it for a couple of weeks. Not a bad design, but could be better. Needs a spare battery slot. Also, the mini-usb connector is sort of long and you have to be carefull when putting the phone in and out of the dock. I'm afraid I might break it off in the phone at some point. Nothing like that has happened yet, but it just doesn't feel bullet proof.
I'm using an old Rolodex card holder with my sync cable as a horizontal cradle...works absolutely great! The 8125 happens to be a near-perfect fit when oriented horizontally. Pulled it our of my office's back room right before it was going in the trash...
http://www.arsmar.com/emporium/IMG/c07a-Rolodex-2.jpg
I am using the Boxwave one. Here are my thoughts:
1) I also am using the FlexiSkin. The 8125 does fit with the skin on, but you have to remove the cradles clear plastic support piece (or just leave it off to begin with).
2) Connection - the power part charges easily, but the sync part takes a little more wiggling/time to work than I am used to with the OEM USB cable. I am not sure if it is because of the FlexSkin, the cradle or what...I'll test it out.
3) Design. It is light, and you have to operate with 2 hands to put on and remove. My sync cradle for my old Casio E125 had this lift button to remove the device easily, and I wish this did.
4) Bottom is covered. If you plan ahead, no biggy. I just keep a spare stylus by the cradle because I kept forgetting to remove it before syncing. You may also want to have your bluetooth headset ready, because answering the phone is a little awkward (whether removing the device, or using speakerphone). No way to use a wired set - the plug is covered.

Just the chargers. It comes with a usb cable to attach it to the computer and a normal american outlet charger. If you buy them off of ebay I remember seeing one that comes with a battery. I dont trust the battery that it comes with though I rather just spend the extra cash and be sure of the quality of the battery. Hope this helped

Anyone seen a Desktop Cradle for the CDMA variant?

Hi Guys,
The Verizon CDMA Touch Pro2 presumably requires an adjustment to the standard design for Desktop Cradle becaue of the USB port being offset from the middle to make way for the 3.5mm phono jack. has anyone found a desktop cradle that will fit yet? I assume that the Sprint version also has the same requirement.
I'm looking for the exact same thing for my Verizon TP 2, any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Tatiania
I definitely would like to have one as well for my desk. Especially if it also has a battery charging slot or two.

Unhelpful...prolly the reason why the poster came here in the first place.
I just ordered one from the Boxwave website. It is for the Verizon CDMA version. It also has a slot to charge an extra battery at the same time which is what I really need so I don't tie my phone up for 6 hours to charge 2 batteries.

Good deal, let us know how well it fits. Interested in seeing if the offset USB will be a problem. What kind of secondary battery did you go with? Seido is or has released an extended battery that fits under the stock cover. An additional 250mh.

I got the stock battery from verizon. Battery life is pretty good with the stock battery. I like to try and time my usage so when I charge it at night the battery is low. Some say that's better for the life of the battery.

Any word on the cradle from Boxwave for the Verizon TP2? I'm wondering about the fit with the offset usb connector.
What would be really cool is a cradle with the offset usb connector and a 3.5mm plug so the cradle would have an audio out. That way you can still use your headphones with the TP2 in the cradle.

That used to be true until Lithium ion came out. Shallow discharges are actually preferable now. This site explains it well: http://www.batteryuniversity.com/partone.htm
Having said that, battery life is exceptional on mine. Don't see any good reason to bulk it up more with a larger one either.

Got mine today. They must have sent the wrong one because it doesnt fit. My order does say that I ordered the Verizon version. The connecter is not offset as it should be. I emailed Boxwave today asking them to send a new one along with a paid shipping label to send back the wrong one. Hopefully they will do that so I can at least use the spare battery charger portion. Also I don't want to have to pay shipping fees to send back the one that is wrong.
Mike
I was afraid it wouldn't fit.. the pics on boxwave didn't show an offset connector and reading the details.. just said for the Verizon TP2 with no mention of an offset connector.
I've been looking everywhere and when I see one labled "for the Verizon TP2" the pics never show an offset connector. I think a cradle for the VZW TP2 is gonna be hard to find for awhile yet.
Tatiania
WTF?!? Did this post die a premature death or what? Nobody's had any luck finding a cradle for the CDMA version?
Tati
I don't get it. Who needs a cradle when the device has a built in tilt screen and sits up quite well on it's own with the screen showing off it's landscape mode while being plugged in from the side. I'm all for cradles as I owned one for my Touch Pro, but this device really doesn't need one....

Motorola Store has Photon Batteries

Just posted this on another forum. Just bought one and used coupon code THANKYOU for 10% off.
http://www.store.motorola.com/Batte...olor_map,price,size_name&searchRank=salesrank
Went on ebay and got 3 batteries and a wall charger for 12 bucks. Had the same for my Epic, they are from Hong Kong, and last about half as long as stock but for money spent, well worth it IMO.
Normally i stick to seidio for aftermarket batteries, but that offer is too good to ignore! thanks for the tip!
They take about 2 weeks to get to you, ground mail from China but used them for a year on my Epic. Great little backups, keep one in the car, one in the office, whereever.
I am still not sure which battery will fit the Photon. Let us know how it works out.
This one claims to be for the Photon and only the Photon, it only recently came out so it should work. It is not one of those that advertises for Atrix/Droid X2/Photon, which as we know the Photon does not share a battery with.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-3X-1500...119425?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item45fc81f7c1
Thanks for that ebay link! Wow 3 batteries and the external charger! I just purchased these and it is worth the gamble for $13. I think it will be okay. Worst case scenerio I also get the Seidio battery and I have this purchase to charge my OEM battery in the external charger
They have them for like every phone, usually 2 not 3, but the 3 is nice insurance for a DOA. Never heard bad about them other then they last about half as long as OEM.
What about those 1950 mAh batteries? Will they fit? They scare me because it does not say mB855 anywhere.
Just to confirm the 3 for 13 ebay batteries do fit and work in the Photon. Can't speak of life yet, i expect about half of stock prob a bit more but well worth it.
I posted this over in android forums but forgot to post it here as well.
I ordered this 3x 1500mAh battery + charger over in ebay.
The package does indeed come from China. The package has the 3 included batteries and the charger box.
Next we have images of the battery in its protective pouch and the battery charger.
Each battery is a 3.7VDC 1500mAh Rechargable Lithium-ion type of battery.
It states as a replacement for the BF5X/MB520/MB525 battery. But I can rest assure that it does fit the Photon.
The charger has retractable prongs to connect to the wall and it also has a usb port which I guess is to connect another device to charge from (like the Photon connected via a usb cable.) There is a nicely soft glow light that is colored red (more like magenta) when the battery needs charging and turns a nice color green when the battery is fully charged. Supposedly the charger box indicates that the charging stops once the battery is full to prevent overcharging, but I have no way of knowing that without a battery tester of some sort.
Here is the view of the light with a pic without flash on.
As I was testing this product, the supplied batteries get charged in about an hour each. Originally, I just inserted one of the batteries into the photon to see if it fit and worked and yes it does fit and charge the phone. But it quickly died since I didn't have it fully charged. Well after a few hours of charging all three batteries, I inserted one of them into the photon and see how long they last.
as for the USB port on the charger, well it does not provide any juice to the Photon via a usb cable. At first I thought it was my cable (previous HTC EVO cable) so I switched it to the official one from Motorola and nothing, zip nada.
At this point, I thought either I had a charging device that had a defective usb port or the port doesn't work at all. So I decided to do one last final test and plug in my Kensington Pocket Battery for Smartphones device (which I highly recommend by the way) into the usb port of the charger and tada, we have power. It charges the Kensington battery pack. But not the Photon via the usb.
Now going back to the battery in the photon, while not as long lasting as the official Motorola HF5X 3.8v 1650mAh battery, it does keep the Photon working long enough for me and until I am able to reach a charging port on long travels outside. And with 3 of them, I really do not have to worry. (So long as they all are charged fully). lol
Overall for the price, $12.90 I really can't complain. True the USB charge port only works for my Kensington but it does charge the 3 supplied batteries as well as the official Motorola one. Small, compact and good for travel.
oh and this image shows the pouch and where it came from as well as the model number of the batteries. As one can see it states it is a replacement for the BF5X Moto battery.
and finally here is another ebayer with a higher rated battery.

Good external battery charger

Hello. I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with external battery chargers for the EVO 3D batteries? I am using the EVO battery in my Sensation so I figured I would ask here. Just so im clear I am looking for something like this... http://www.amazon.com/External-Batt...BVFO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331668412&sr=8-1 not an external battery I can plug into my phones charge port. If anyone here has any suggestions or input I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
I have one I got with my Anker battery (looks the same but with white plastic instead of black) and it works great. It's adjustable so you can charge different batteries.

The pins slide sideways to match the battery contacts, and the bottom is spring loaded to hold the battery against the pins. It's acually pretty cool.

That is the charger. These batteries have about 10% to 15% more juice than the OEM Evo 3D battery. Been using them in our 2 Evo 3D's since August with no issues. You should get them pretty quick, they are in Santa Clara.

Do not buy that. I have one. It's utter crap. You have to keep an eye on the battery to ensure it's still charging, and if not.. move the battery around until the charging light stays on. Several others have said the same. (This is tested with multiple batteries.)

Looking for a battery charger

Recently got an ATT 777 S2. Is there a battery charger (either dock that handles a case, or plug-in) that I can simultaneously charge the phone and a spare battery? Looked around, but seems like all the ones I see for the S2 on Amazon are for the international version.
