[Q] Unable to update after failed OTA - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I got my Prime 2 days ago and after charging and powering it up for the first time, it began downloading a firmware update. I chose to install it, the Prime rebooted, and after the android logo with moving gears, it showed an android logo with an exclamation sign.
I rebooted it and then I got a notification that said "system update failed(2): unknown error". I then attempted to manually check for a firmware update, but I got "There is no update available for your device currently".
I tried copying the ASUS update zip to a microsd, I tried draining the battery, I did multiple factory resets, and it still won't update or even find OTAs.
I also tried with the installed version again (8.8.3.33) and even that resulted in the android + exclamation symbol.
Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue? Or at least what could be causing it?

[Q] OTA Update 651.167.26.en.EU

Anyone had a problem updating to 651.167.26.en.EU??
I've tried to update (many times), the phone shuts down starts the install, gets about half way then reboots. When it does reboot I get a message saying the update failed. I've even done a factory reset (which I hated) but now joy. Grrrrr
Has anyone had this issue and have you manage to solve it??
Also does anyone know what location the phone saves the update to?
Perhaps you're lucky it failed because I am having the following problem after the update:
After updating wireless is stuck and won't either turn on or off.. in settingsmenu on the wlan activate button it just says "error" in the second line. on push it says "activating" for some time the drops back to error. So my question: Does anyone else have this an what can I do to correct this?
PS: Moto Support just says Factory reset but there is upfront no way I am doing this without having tried anything else..
You could always just root it and install a custom rom. My app will will root it in 1 click.

Failed OTA update

A few days ago I received a notification that many prime had a update available, i downloaded the update and tried to install,i got the usual green robot with open tummy then he turned red, which I assume means the update failed, the device rebooted fine and is working normally however when I try to check for the update to reinstall it says no update available .
Has anyone else experienced this? Or has anyone got any ideas what's happened?
Thanks in advance

problem with OTA, not rooted

So i bought a used Verizon S4 yesterday and it works fine. Last night it said it had an update, so i accepted before i went to sleep and this morning it said "software update unsuccessful"
Today i tried again to update, i downloaded the update, it verified the download, update available, tap to install, install now, it booted, said installing system update and then "error" about 5 seconds later and thats as far as it gets before it restarts the phone and says "software update unsuccessful"
The phone is not rooted (i used root checker) and is currently on I545VRUAMDK
Any ideas or suggestions to remedy this issue?
Plug it into your PC and let it update thru the Verizon app. Just realize once you take the update you will not be able to root your phone.
that worked, thanks!

Samsung A8 (2018), (SM-A530F/DS) homescreen stuck in "phone is starting" after update

Samsung A8 (2018), (SM-A530F/DS) homescreen stuck in "phone is starting" after update
Hi guys, yesterday i did a software update for my samsung A8 (2018) phone and it was going normal until i received an error message at the end of the update. My phone continued to boot successfully but now the homescreen is always stuck in "phone is starting" message.
The phone itself works and i am able to open other apps via google playstore but the homescreen is unusable. I have tried doing cache partition wipes and factory resets, i also thought it was a soft-brick so i tried FRP hijacker with the soft-brick fixer but it just says "check connection" even though my PC successfully scanned the port of my phone. When i open my phone in recovery mode it says "firmware is not valid" at the end of the command line.
I have tried searching online for similar issues but most users have experienced bootloops which is not exactly the problem i have right now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
@Verthingale
Taken from Samsung:
Devices with Android 9 or higher will automatically enable file-based encryption if it has a PIN, pattern, or password set up. During the boot process, the phone will display "Phone is starting..." and the screen may be blank for a few seconds while encryption is taking place. However, if you feel it takes too long for your phone to start, you can disable the encryption to cut a few seconds off of the boot time.

Hi jwoegerbauer, thank you for the reply however unfortunately i don't think the "phone is starting" protocol is actually working. I only experienced this problem right after the latest software update and that was about last night, I have actually tried waiting for the phone to load up but it actually never does (even though i left my phone idle and waited for hours). I am fairly certain that it is a glitch/bug caused by the error at the end of the software update however i am not sure on what to do in such an occasion.
So as to clarify, the software update DID NOT complete as there was an error/failed message right at the end of it but while looking up in the internet i found out that apparently software updates are permanent and cannot be reverted back?
If that is the case then i am really in a pinch right now as i cannot go back to my old software version and yet the new one also does not work.
