It can't be extracted just like that as you need to port it over.It would take a lot of effort to do that if there's any willing devs at all.
Why don't you get a HTC One S instead if you want Sense?

We had a lot of discussion about porting HTC Sense to Xperia but it's merely impossible.

it is because i would have 32gb Storage, and i like the Hardware of Sony xperia S
and the One s is only 16gb and usable are 12 or 13 gb not to much...
oh god i don't know what i should do. i have no good Mobile and i would like the Xperia s or the One x but this is to big

Pointless,
HTC and Samsung for sure there are gonna make there phones bigger and I'm pretty sure that when Sony's gonna announce there next Xperia range phone like 2nd gen Dual-core with Krait,
they will go for bigger display.

I personally am not a fan of these larger phone with bigger displays.
I also do not understand why the one s is so much taller than the sensation yet has the same size screen, i mean its nearly as tall as the sensation xl which has a bigger screen. I mean i was playing with the droid razr (same size roughly in height as the one s) yesterday and couldn't help thinking why the hell it was so tall for just a 4.3 inch screen and its pretty wide too.

Is it a good idead

Hi all,
I am thinking of selling my x10 and purchasing Desire. Is it a good idea.
No! Better wait for the first quarter, when new phones will be introduce in the market...

First, ask this question in desire forums ;-)
Second: one thing better in x10 is slightly bigger screen. In practice this means about two lines of book in aldiko. Width and number of pixels are the same.
I have both phones now, first bought x10, then desire...currently looking at one rom per day thanks to easy rom backup. (now: defrost)

New phones wont be fully cracked and modded, and certainly wont have similar price to x10..

I'd be keeping ideas like that to myself though, someone might steal it and use it themselves.

Why sell a 7 month old phone just to buy an 8 month old phone?
Try the Desire HD or Desire Z if you want a newer phone.

except the MT issue on X10, the x10 is much bether bether camera, larger display more rom, battery life etc ..
me and probably thousand people wait for a custom rom witch alow MT/ or at least dual touch

Camera: complementary and not fundamental to the workings of a smart phone.
Dispaly: 3.8 inch amoled with multitouch better than 4 inch TFT single touch
Rom: I think RAM is more important to the user and the dseire has 512mb compared to the x10 384mb
Battery Lifeurely subjective
Let's not forget that you get froyo and all its goodness on the desire while the x10, save for the devs cracking the bootloader, is destined to die with 2.1. Also HTC sense much better and more functional than the dreary UXP.
I don't think you'll find any review on any of the tech blogs that actually put the x10 ahead of the desire. The desire wins there unanimously.
Having said all that, I think like others who have said, you should wait until q1 next year when newer phones get released and then make your choice. Unless you want to at least get something reasonable back for your x10 before it becomes valueless.
I think that the crux of this question lies in the users needs...
For example.. tell us your top 3 uses of your phone.. (texting, watching video, browsing, streaming video from websites, listening to music, camera..... etc.etc)...
That way you'll get some feedback on the elements that really matter to you rather than having everyone commenting on the elements that matter to them..
For me.. I wouldn't have a Desire.. simply because it's ugly.. but that's just my opinion on a feature of the phone which is important to me.

The Desire loses because it's an old phone. The X10 loses as well.
Why would anyone buy an old phone when the newer version is already on the market?!
Not to mention, the X10's screen absolutely blows the Desire's AMOLED out of the water. There's a reason they changed it to SLCD.
Ive got both these phones at the moment and i have to say, as much as i love the x10 there isnt a hope in hell of me ever using it again. Sense is a better ui, im finding the battery life to be better, has froyo and custom roms, it might just be me but the screen seems more vibrant, i can actually hear the other person, my signal at home now stays on 3g permenantly where it used to drop to 2.5g the majority of the time, the software is a lot smoother and more responsive, the custom htc software like the music app is much better than sonys attempts and it has multitouch. The only thing i miss is the camera and app from the x10 but seeing as i take about 10 photos a year on my phone i think i can live with that.
All of this is just my opinion of course and if you disagree then thats your right but my x10 is being sold pretty soon and ill never be buying se again. The only reason i didnt get a desire hd or z is because for the cost it doesnt seem worth it really, i could get 2 desires for the same price as 1 hd or z.

What to do?

I am due an upgrade and I dont know weather to take the HTC One X or wait for the Galaxy S3... I have the s1 now, have done for last 2 years. Before than had Omnia HD. I like Samsung, specially their display and they always seem to be ahead of the competition when it comes to displays. Their battery life has always kind of sucked though.
Anyone in the same boat?
I really want the One X but sadly im in canada so itll be tough and expensive for me to get it i think S3 will be slightly better hardware-wise but One X better software-wise. Im running sense 4 (light version but still) on my Desire Z and its REDICULOUSLY smooth! And that image sense is super impressive.
Sent from my HTC Desire Z using XDA
i would also wait for the s3. samsungs displays are really impressive.
When will the S3 be released?

[Q] What Will Be a good Successor For My aging X10?

I am thinking abote some options, and I can't decide...
any help would be nice XD.
my options:
- Sony Xperia Sola (cuz of the price, but what I dont like is the singel-core mali-400 GPU and only 512mb ram... dose it matter? can it play GTA 3?)
-Mtorola Razr (or MAXX - shuld I wait for the Maxx? does it whorth the price?)
-Asus padfone - for obvious Reasons, but when will it be available? price?
Or the timing is bad? cuz I see that the SGSIII is abote to come and other phones, I dont wannabe stuck with an old unsupported phone after less then 9 monthes....
Thank's...
P.S. If the post is in the wrong plase, Im sorry... Im new on XDA.
Could wait and see what sgs3 has to offer. To be honest I'm not too big a fan of the sola or raze. If anything the asus
I upgraded my x10 to the HTC one x last week. This phone is a beast. Absolutely amazing

thx, but I must say, Im not a fan of quad-core, I think its useless when a duel-core crotex a-15 can do better.
also, 4.3 is the largest screen for me....
abote the one s, any good? is has almost the same hardware as the padfone - is sense and the beats audio are better then the "tablet-abilyti? (what I do with my phone is play music mostly and game and camera...)
It will be a sad day when i finally lay my old x10 to rest
Im looking forward to seeing what the sgs3 has to offer... although if my x10 keeps chugging along the same as always, i could be checking out sgs4 or 5 or 6
Why not consider the xperia s? Sony Ericsson has disappointed me plenty but this new Sony phone has specs that are incredible...1.5 ghz dual core processor..with GB of ram with 32GB of internal storage...with the best screen quality of any smartphone out there..that would be my choice =)

Yeah but they need to hurry up on ICS, that's the only smartphone released in 2012 that has Gingerbread, hopefully they will get on to that. And battery life too, hopefully it will be tweaked on ICS.
I want dat dem phone so bad. And yes, I'm not a quad core fan either, but I'm a pc specs fan.
Thx again,
Abote the xperia s - im realy no fan of SE after the satio and the x10,
Also I NEED a SD card slot on my phone... (and its realy pricy - it costs like the "karait" phones out ther
And another thing, does the sola (like the U) has the smatheadset in the box?

[Q] Xperia Z or HTC Butterfly

Hey, so I've been using the forums for a while and just made an account because I thought this is were I would get the best opinion. Which new phone should I get? The HTC butterfly or Sone Xperia Z? I have the desire HD right now, and I figured getting the butterfly would be like getting the same phone again (Because I have a sense 4 rom, etc) just a lot quicker, where as the Xperia Z looks really cool. The only thing I'm a bit hesitant about it my brother got the xperia 10, and it looks really bad. It's laggy and the ui was terrible in my opinion, but lag was the major issue. But I don't wanna get the butterfly and regret it because it's the same thing I've had for 2 years. and I may even regret getting the Xperia Z because I don't like it as much as HTC's phones. First world problems, eh?
So what do you guys think? Should I play it safe and get the Butterfly, a phone I will be comfortable with and know I will like, or should I go with the Xperia Z, a completely new phone that looks amazing, but may not be.
P.S Sorry if this should be in Q&A, I wasn't sure
Xperoa x10? That phone is like 2 years old and is weak. Plus if it's not running custom roms (jb prefferably) it will lag.
Anyway, I think both of those phones will lag because of the 1080p screen, I watched some video reviews of Droid DNA (same spec as Butterfly) and it lagged in some cases.
Why do you even ask should you stay with something you already have (sense 4) or go for a new device with different UI? That is the question only YOU can answer.

Perhaps I should have worded this better
I know that they will both lag at times, I do not doubt it. But does Sony have a reputation for making laggy phones? Because from what I've seen they do.
And if it were you, which phone would you get? and Why? I know I'll have to make up my own mind, but I'm just curious
Thanks for the reply

It gets hot, that's true (and kinda strange.... )
The camera isn't that bad (and absolutely enough for the use you're gonna do of it, e.g. posting photos on FB)
If you are looking for similar sized phones you can consider the GSIII Mini, considering the fact that it hasn't got Sense customization, and for a HTC user it can be kinda disappointing (I used to have a Wildfire S, when I bought a Xperia go I was so disappointed of sony customized UI that I replaced it with the Desire X)
Just a thing... please improve your english..

I'd recommend it if you can get it for £180.
However if you're willing to go for a few quid extra I'd go for the GSIII Mini or a little bit more than that you could get a Nexus 4...
As Matyt said, the device gets hot and it gets pretty annoying and unpleasant.
We have received updates for this device, and most users now have a Jelly Bean update.
Moreover our device gets the Linux 3.4 kernel with Jelly Bean meaning we'll be able to run the next few releases of Android on our phone whether it's officially or unofficially.
We have lots of progress on the AOSP ROMs front as well, with CM9 almost fully working and CM10.1 in the works.
In terms of developer support, you can't go wrong with the DX
Thanks for your advice im geting more tempted to get the desire x now do you think there is a way to fix the overheating and do yuou think this could shorten its life?
once i again....
if you dont have too much money and want a nice - cool , fast phone...not in a shoe size...you better buy it!!!!
it gets hot but not in critical points....
for the money you will pay you will get a very good phone
and lately a lot of developers are working on our phone...so we will get jb roms aosp and others..which will make our phone twice faster
from what you ask...this phone suits you!! A LOTTT

thanks for all your help nice to see a bunch of friendy guys who know what there talking about who can give real advice
mine doesnt over heat until i play an intense 3d game. and that happens to all the midrange phones i know of. Its only major compromise is on:
- no front camera
- no digital compass
- no 720p video recording (although playback is possible)
But dont forget the positive things:
- fast processor
- Good camera lens and low light snapshots
- HTC Sense (although lite version)
- Ram is higher
- Screen colour reproduciton is v good. (although not very bright)
- HTC Sense
- JellyBean (Upcoming in some regions - Damn you HTC)
- Light and beautiful design.
I agree with neXus PRIME. I havent had the issue of the phone overheating.
The phone is absolutely amazing in my honest opinion. Except for the front camera and htc full sense. Although i would advice you to check this link regarding the white noise (hiss sound) on some of our Desire X.
But that has never annoyed me at all as i barely noticed it. And after some search on Google, the white noise seems to be a problem or some kind of sacrifice introduced on almost all mobile devices to compensate and even out other weird sounds. I think there is a video regarding this which is on one of the pages on that link thread.
There is nothing else to disregard Desire X as an awesome and handy and comfortable device for those of us keen on getting a quality phone within a budget.
And once again if you want to compensate for all the con points neXus PRIME has first mentioned in the above thread, then by all means buy a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini.
I have come from a Wildfire to the Desire x.
The perfect move.
The DX camera is 10x netter than the Wildfire
I am glad i Made the move.

It important that you are 100% happy with your purchase...my advice go with your heart.
the Desire X is a nice phone has everything that you need and will receive updates for at least 4.X(not sure about official but surely unofficially).
about the heating that can usually happen due to prolonged usage at high frequency of the processor(our default governor is performance hence the reason slow down scaling and rapid fire upscaling).
this can be fixed by moving to interactive governor(better ratio of scaling) or/and changing the scaling governor to conservative.
though this problem might persist if you play games/use apps that have a high processor demand(usually very graphic intensive).
there so my suggestion is to look for a device that has the following points.
1.confirmed jb update(this gives it a better chance of getting 4.x future updates).
2.Strong developer comunity.
3.possible working method for rooting.
4.custom recoveries.
5.good specs vs price ratio.
for me the Desire X ticks all these boxes.
but in the end the choice is yours.
Good Luck,
Dark Passenger
The phone is far better with the JB update, from my own anecdotal experience. I was unhappy with it on ICS. I'm still not impressed with Sense Lite that we were burdend with, and had I known about it at the time I would have opted for another device.
There are many positives about the phone, it is very cheap and it works OK for the price. If I had more money I would go for a Nexus 4 though.
The other reviews above are good, but I'd add in the actual handset is not very comfortable in your hands, especially for extended periods, and the screen feels less responsive than the one on the old Desire (Bravo). It is very plasticy and the back cover feels very cheapo and fragile.
It's a grand Android phone, it costs next to nothing (comparatively) but the performance is fairly low end and there's an air of cheapness to the whole thing. My Nexus 4, GS3 and other devices feel far superior (though to be fair they are). My One X JB update slowed down some fairly basic functionality for me and I really didn't like it after it updated. I've a concern that HTC are rushing software or it is too fragmented for them to release solid ROMs for their devices.
I use the DX as my day to day out and about phone and it works fine for the most part. There's nothign major wrong with it, just a lot of little niggles here and there. Some of which were fixed with JB update!
If you want a very cheap phone for basic surfing, facebook etc and won't be installing any particularly big games you'll be fine with this device.

Personally, i hate the phone. I regret buying it everyday. Hell, even my old Galaxy S was a lot better then this piece of crap. Don't recommend buying it.
I find it Amazing that some people take so much effort and time to come onto a forum and talk rubbish.
You can go onto virtually any forum, IPHONE, Galaxy 3 and 4 forums, you will always get people there with problems, mostly user related.
You also get the chops who also go onto the various forums and say this phone is the biggest rubbish just for the kick of it.
To the one who bought this product, surely you dont compare it to Top of the range Galaxy, Sony or Iphone.
Compare apples with apples.
The Desire X fits into its own market, It delivers just what is expected of it . Accept that or buy another phone that will suit your needs.

'Delivers what is expected of it' Yeah because when we spend $300 on a phone we all expect a software update that will break one of the phone's main selling points.
